For Underactive Thyroid "I started taking Armour Thyroid about 6 years ago. This medication has allowed me to feel 'normal' again. I have much more energy and have lost weight. I no longer feel weighed down or tired. I have the energy to do things and feel great."

For Hashimoto's disease "I took this medicine, Armour Thyroid, prior to 2015 with excellent results. Six weeks ago, I went back on it because NP Thyroid had been reformulated. I had a bad reaction to Armour, both the 45 mg and 90 mg tablets. I could no longer get up in the morning, took naps at 2, had a severe rash on my fingers and scalp, felt anxious, depressed, and was not sleeping. I am in adrenal fatigue and can’t think straight. I don’t know if these reformulations are a way to push people towards synthetic medications, or if some new fillers have been added, or if the pig thyroid is being processed differently. My main concern is that my symptoms became much more pronounced within days of taking it, to the point where I could not function at 20% of my prior activity level. Also, the medicine seemed to be very uneven in consistency, I had several pills that almost made me feel like I was speeding, while 95% of the other ones put me in bed. TSH, which had been in the normal range for 11 years, plummeted to the edge of 0."

For Underactive Thyroid "Definitely wasn't for me. I noticed a drastic change in my moods. Generally a very bubbly person, I became irritable during treatment. I had constant racing thoughts, jitters, and an overall depressed feeling. It impaired my thinking too, I felt distraught. I'm feeling much better since discontinuation of Armour."

For Underactive Thyroid "I've been taking Armour for several years now. Somewhere along the line, all of my symptoms such as constipation, weight gain and trouble losing weight, hair loss, trouble falling asleep despite being extremely tired, low energy, headaches, brain fog, etc., came back with a vengeance. My endo sees nothing wrong with my labs and tells me it must be something I'm eating. I went along with this theory until one day I went online to find out why my prescription cost went up so much. Much to my surprise, I stumbled across many others like me complaining of symptoms coming back despite lab work being in range. Everyone noticed the changes came about when Forest sold! I'm switching doctors and hope to find another medication!"

For Hashimoto's disease "Been diagnosed with Hashimoto's for over a decade, and started out taking 90 mcg of levothyroxine. As my disease progressed I had to take more and more, and was up to 150 mcg when I started feeling bad: sick and depressed, had trouble sleeping. Blood tests showed that my T3s were low, and I had been flogging my T4s to produce more T3s. This may be one of the symptoms of Hashimoto's: an inability to convert T4 into T3. Not a doctor, don't know, but switching to Armour a month ago has made a huge difference in my health. I am not getting those cramps in my hands and feet at the end of the day, and my energy has gone way up. It's still too early to know for sure...one month isn't much...but so far so good!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I came on here to read reviews because I was at a total loss after 20-plus years on Armour Thyroid. I have a very dry mouth and face, and my jaw is clenched, and I am fighting with everyone. I broke two back molars, which required crowns and a mouthpiece for the clenching. I had some old Armour from 2020, and for kicks, decided to take that for a month, and all of my problems went away, went back on the new formula and back to rage, zero sleep, and dry mouth clenching! This is so horrendous. I am a total loss because I cannot deal with Synthroid. I might try something from the open market on Amazon. It is ruining my life."

For Underactive Thyroid "I've been on thyroid medication for 49 years. I spent my first 38 years on Synthroid and various T4 formulas. I could not stand the up and down of Synthroid, it was never steady. Every time I went to the doctor, it was adjusted. It could not regulate me, and most doctors just played with raising and lowering the mg levels. Finally, a person I knew told me I should see her doctor. I did, and that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship with Armour Thyroid. I've never felt better, my bad symptoms went away, and I feel almost human. It holds me steady for longer periods. Sometimes the patient knows best, regardless of what the blood tests say. Armour contains unknown ingredients that can't be isolated into a synthetic pill form. Armour is natural and the best."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been taking Armour Thyroid for many years. I gained about 20 pounds, and since November last year, my back started to itch 24/7. I went to two doctors, and they could not find anything wrong. I changed my laundry detergent, my soap, etc. Does anybody have something similar?"

For Underactive Thyroid "I was on Armour for several years after still feeling horrible on Synthroid. At first, I felt better, then the last 2 years my TSH kept inching up, and I went through menopause. I also started experiencing horrible body aches (told I had fibromyalgia) and joint pain like I had arthritis. I gained 25 lbs in a year and extreme fatigue. In January, I was told I was in menopause at 43. I saw a new endocrinologist in June. She switched me to Tirosint and said all my symptoms were from Armour, the dosing was inconsistent. According to her, not every pill has the same levels. I switched to Tirosint and all the body aches stopped. No more being in pain! However, my menstrual cycle returned after 3 years of no periods. Now I am starting birth control pills since the bleeding won’t stop. I believe Armour put me in menopause."

For Hashimoto's disease "I have taken Armour Thyroid for 30+ years after Synthroid did not work. In the spring of 2020, I began to feel terrible. Headache, tiredness, pain in my joints, no energy at all. My IM ran a thyroid panel on me. Everything normal (I don’t think he ran antibodies). I asked him to switch me to WP Thyroid. He did, and within weeks I started to feel like my old self. That lasted for 6 months, and WP Thyroid was pulled from the market. I had to go back on Armour Thyroid. All my previous symptoms are back, and I feel terrible again. I am sure that Allergan has reformulated Armour Thyroid. We must report and complain to the FDA to get RLC Labs preparations back on the market."

For Underactive Thyroid "Over 13 years, I was on different synthetic thyroid medicines. About 5 years ago, I started having problems with diarrhea, constipation, and fatigue. Then two years ago, horrible aches and pains, very low temperature. I felt I was dying. I pointed out to my doctor abnormal T3s and T4s, which he never noticed. After taking every diagnostic test and even CT scans, I was finally prescribed Armour Thyroid. I have my life back again. Unbelievable."

For Hashimoto's disease "I love Armour! I was taking Levothyroxine and felt so awful. My body ached, I was ill. My thyroid doctor refused to change my medication, so I went to my primary doctor, and after my first dose, I felt 90 percent better."

For Underactive Thyroid "Why can't they go back to the old method of making Armour Thyroid? I've tried the synthetic meds before. I don't feel like myself and had many issues with side effects. Even a mix of two different ones trying to get my t3 right. TSH levels always good or played games of too high or too low until the T3 was studied. Yes, I've had more issues with sleeping, insomnia, irritability, focus, weight loss, hair loss, and for the first time in my life, I had a migraine over a year ago and now need to take daily meds for them. Does anyone know of another company, even out of the US, where we could buy the old formula from? Use of pig glands certainly can't be expensive. Just another company filling their pockets while giving a lesser product, we suffer."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Armour Thyroid seems to be doing quite well. Still in the adjustment phase, but no allergy. I chew my split dose and notice a difference instead of swallowing the pills whole. Everyone is different, and adrenals plus iron need to be optimal for any natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) to work. I have run the gamut of NDT in North America, and with the latest issue with NP Thyroid, went back to Armour. Well worth it. Symptoms abate every day."

For Underactive Thyroid "Diagnosed with hypothyroidism over ten years ago with body aches, insomnia, brain fog, weight gain, etc. On Armour all my symptoms went away except for weight gain despite heavy exercise and dieting. I keep up my regimen but I'm desperate to lose the weight. I don't understand why the Armour has helped everything but the weight gain."

For Hashimoto's disease "Been on Armour Thyroid for 2 plus years. I have never felt this miserable in all my life. Except NP thyroid. Synthroid and levothyroxine helped with numbers. Didn't fight the brain fog, lethargy, and annoying side effects. I have been living in a nightmare for over 2 years being on this medicine. I've been suicidal, continued, if not worse, brain fog, hair, skin, and nails. My whole body is not functioning anymore. Functional medicine people push this like drug pushers. Tried compounded thyroid as well. What a joke. These drugs seem to be a joke. Haven't been able to work full time in 8 years. Dr. took me off estrogen, and this is what happened to me. Hypothyroid, functional medicine doctors didn't pay enough attention to the numbers, I kept telling them over and over again. Now I have Hashimoto's and feel like rubbish. Functional medicine is a joke. But Armour and NP are the biggest joke. Have no clue where I will be going next on this nightmare journey. Good for you all that feel better on this medication."

For Hashimoto's disease "Like many others, I received a diagnosis after getting so bad that I could barely walk. I couldn't get out of a chair without rolling over to the arm and pulling/pushing myself out. I was prescribed synthetic medication and got a bit better, but my hair started falling out and I got headaches. I started the research and insisted on the Armour. Huge difference, especially in mental performance. I make my living by doing analyses on high-risk complex things. It was so wonderful to get my brain back. I had some help from a naturopathic doctor who suggested that I add supplements to address any adrenal damage (adrenal rebuilders). The final step has been traditional Chinese medicine, and I am now almost off the Armour too. Western medicine will tell you that thyroid treatment is a lifelong path. Maybe."

For Underactive Thyroid "Started on Armour decades ago, stayed with it then could not get it and had to take Synthroid. My pharmacist informed me last year Armour was back on the market and switched to it, 1 grain or 60 mg. What an improvement I noticed. Yes, there is a difference."

For Underactive Thyroid "Have taken Armour for decades, all with good results. Medicare doesn't cover it, and I bought 1 year worth only to find something changed. My taste, smell have been affected, and the smell continues down into both kinds of body elimination. Have spoken with pharmacists who said the formula hasn't changed. SOMETHING changed and NOT for the better. I am now stuck with HUNDREDS of dollars of junk! Not happy. Can't take synthetic stuff."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I started taking Synthroid 200mcg from 2002 to October 2012. Because I had thyroid cancer, I had both of my thyroids removed. A friend told me to try Armour Thyroid, and you will feel a lot better. I took her advice, and she gave me the name of the doctor who will prescribe Armour Thyroid. I've been taking 90mcg of Armour Thyroid, and I feel great. I can tell the difference after I took the first pill. My energy level is very high. I don't need a nap during the day."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "For 11 years I was on another thyroid medicine and just kept feeling tired and depressed. I started doing some research and 6 years ago found a physician that prescribed alternative thyroid medication... Armour Thyroid. It has totally changed my life. I have energy, no longer depressed and lost some weight. With Armour, the most important thing is taking it the same time every day. Energy level stays up and I seem to get the most from the medication."

For Hashimoto's disease "Today is Sept 8 of 2022, I have had them all from expensive Tirosint SOL to pathetic Synthroid generics. They all have terrible side effects that I can't handle. Lately, I've been a guinea pig to Armour Thyroid for the past year and guess what? I've been pushed to see a psychiatrist because of the anxiety, depression, insomnia, and panic attacks it's caused me. I was fine on NP Thyroid for 2 years before the big distributors and politicians decided to stick their greedy hands in what did not involve THEIR own health. Ever since the 2020 downfall, I have been forced to anti-depressants and counseling... as if 'WE' THE PATIENTS have no absolute idea what our bodies feel like after living in it for years or changing medications. And surviving COVID wasn't difficult enough. For now, I am stuck with anxiety, chest pains on and off, depression, and somewhat hair loss. If anyone knows a better remedy... please pass it on. Best of luck to everyone out there still fighting the uphill war."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I was diagnosed with Papillary Carcinoma in early 2006. My thyroid was removed and tested positive. I was put on Synthroid and Cytomel for one week, then dropped the latter. I slowly went downhill physically and mentally. I gained a lot of weight, and I could not concentrate for any length of time. I could not return to work. An angel gave me the name of a doctor who would prescribe Armour Thyroid. Within a week, I began to feel better. Soon, I felt better than I had in a long time. I returned to work and have stayed healthy ever since. Armour Thyroid is the only way to go for me."
