Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "The Euflexxa provides relief for me for the pain of bone on bone in both knees. Originally, the relief would last for a year, now it's down to about nine months. I have extreme pain upon receiving the injections. I'm very interested to see that no one else seems to have this. My MD/PA ices the knee first and uses a topical spray, but the actual injecting of the Euflexxa causes me a lot of pain. Yesterday, the PA kept telling me to breathe. She was afraid I was going to pass out. The first shot of the series of three is always the worst, so I'm hoping next week's injections won't be so bad. This is probably my fourth time to have these shots."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I used the Euflexxa injections for a couple of years and they were a complete lifesaver!! When I went for what I thought was going to be another round, I was told when I got into the exam room that Priority Health will no longer cover it, and unless I wanted to pay out of pocket (thousands of dollars) I would have to go back to cortisone shots, which don't work at all for me. I'm so sad... I've had tons of knee pain in both knees since I had to stop the Euflexxa and now my doctor is recommending knee replacements in both knees. Shame on you, PRIORITY HEALTH! Insurance companies make me sick! They'd rather pay for a knee replacements than a relatively inexpensive drug that works!? It makes no sense... and the impact on people's lives when they have to have major surgery is just unnecessary... Cover the drugs, please!"

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "Had first series a year ago, no pain or swelling after injections. My knees are bone on bone and doctor wanted to do knee replacement, too much arthritis and due to age they did not want to do arthoscopic surgery. I refuse steroid injections as they only mask the problelm. I am very sensitive to medications so I was very worried about a reaction from Euflexxa but had none. Pain was gone after 2nd shot and has lasted a year. Just had next series in left knee and am having right knee done starting next week. The only other option is knee replacement and after what happened to my husband, will only do it if the pain becomes unbearable. Totally satisfied with euflexxa"

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I went in today for my first of the 3 injections of Euflexxa.. I had psyched myself out pretty bad by reading some of the reviews so I wanted to at least share mine because it was a good experience. I am no fan of needles or injections and had great difficulty after going through Prolough therapy injections. But this was 2 seconds of pinch, a little burn discomfort but nothing compared to what I was worried it would be, and my knees feel better now than when I went in today. So for now, I have to say I am glad I did it and will be continuing with the other 2 injections in the coming weeks. Best of luck to everyone and pain free days!"

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) "In the queue for hip replacement but started looking for alternative. Took an ultrasound guided hip joint injection a month ago, 3ml of Durolane. Pain increased for first week and a half but now almost no pain, very pleased and hope it lasts 6 months. I'm getting over my limp, building up atrophied muscles, and resuming my regular activities like long walks and pickleball"

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I am 71 years old and both knees are bone on bone. Total knee replacements are not an option for me. I was getting Cortisone shots every few months and they were helpful. The doctor advised me Euflexxa may help me and I was given my 1st shot in the office but with every shot I felt worse, I advised the doctor that the pain was so extreme that I couldn't walk. 1 week after the 3rd shot I was given a Cortisone injection in both knees and 1 week later my left leg swelled up and I was admitted to the hospital with a flesh eating disease. I was close to 2 days from death and in surgery within a day to remove the bacteria. I was in the hospital and rehab for almost 4 months and am still in a wheelchair getting home nurse care and on antibiotics."

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) "Me again, it’s been almost 3 weeks and still no change! I filed a complaint with Durolane and the FDA, yet no one reaches out to me. I can barely walk, and I’m in SEVERE pain around the clock from these injections. They have ruined the quality of my life! I was hiking and cycling prior to injections, but had knee pain. Now, my legs are so stiff I cannot even bend them enough to do a peddle rotation on my bike! DO NOT GET THESE HORRIBLE INJECTIONS!"

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I am 45 with bone on bone osteoarthritis. MD said I'm too young for TKR. I had meniscal tear removed in July but still had extreme pain. After PT, MD recommended Euflexxa. Figured I'd give it a try-can't hurt. I finished my 3rd injection 4 weeks ago. Climbing stairs and walking is easier and less pain. There are days that the knee pain is worse but that is handled by a dose of ibuprofen. I am no longer taking the max. of anti-inflammatories on a daily basis. These shots have made daily activities less painful. Allow 6 weeks from first shot to feel benefits and communicate with your MD of any issues. So far I'm hopeful."

Supartz (sodium hyaluronate) "This is my second year of using Supartz. So far, it is working. I refused to get a knee replacement, and looked for other options and this came up. I know it does not work for everyone. I combined it with weight loss and exercise of the upper thighs of the leg, as well as a cortisone shot every three months. I will keep doing this until they come up with something other than full knee replacement as long as it works. The weight loss was really helpful. Just 25 lbs, but it made a difference."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I just finished my 3rd series of 3 shots each. Give it 2-3 to weeks after your last shot. Stay away from cardio and ice it daily. This is truly an amazing product. It hurts during and after and take it easy."

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) "I had my left knee injected with Durolane in December 2019. I had previously had successful injections of Synvisc over a period of four years, and that gel worked great. This time, United HC approved both Synvisc and Durolane. I wanted the synvisc, but the doctor wanted to spare me three injections. I stupidly accepted her advice and did the Durolane. Holy Moly- my knee still hurts like anything. All the time. It's on fire. My new doctor said I may have to wait another six months before he could inject Synvisc. My advice - stay away from Durolane."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I am one week out from my third series (both knees) of Euflexxa injections and so far so good. More than forty years of competing and instructing taekwondo wore my cartilage away (I've also had both hips replaced) and I faced some challenging days. Since Euflexxa was introduced by my pain management doctor, I have begun trusting my legs again. There is less pain most days. Of course, none of us know how long the relief will last but I am happy with my experience to date. The treatments -- my first injection also contained cortisone -- were not all that bad. Good luck to all."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "After severe swelling of my knee, my doctor decided that I was allergic to the stuff. Of course this was AFTER he put all three shots in. I haven't been able to work as an ICU nurse for 3 months due to complications. I now have had to have surgery to remove the stuff from my knee. It has lead to a sed rate of 56 (normal is 30) and swelling of the joints in my hands. I would not recommend this to anyone."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "These series of 3 shots were a God send to me. I'm a very active person and the knee was so severe I could not walk without limping. It took 6 weeks after the 3rd shot to get relief. I'm back to walking and able to ride my bicycle for 10 plus miles 4 times a week. I also participate in several activities in a retirement park during the winter months in FL. My Spouse and I are able to take cruises and I'm pleased that I can walk the whole ship from one end to the other. I'm also able to get off the ship and walk around the ports."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I am a 65 year old active male. I had a scope on my left knee for a torn medial meniscus. For 8 months I was able to resume my activities including golf, walking, biking and swimming. Then, my knee began to swell and become painful again. My doc gave me a cortico steroid injection (pretty painful) in the knee joint. I received immediate relief which lasted about 3 months before the swelling and pain returned. I confirred with my doc again and opted for Euflexxa instead of another steroid injection. The pain from the injection was minimal and about a week after the 3rd injection, I have been pain free. I still ice my knee after exercise but hope that this remedy will buy me 6 months before I have another course of injections."

Gelsyn-3 (sodium hyaluronate) "I have two bad knees. The doctor had put Orthovisc in the right one a few years ago and it’s been fine. The left one has become failing so he agreed to inject it with a solution. I thought it would be the same thing. On the third injection I saw the tube and it was marked Gel-SYN3. That was 2 months ago. I am still unable to walk or climb up stairs without hold my breath. I have to help my legs out of the car. After sitting I have to raise myself to standing with my arms. My right knee is starting to fail again because of the stress on it. I will refuse to have Gel -SYN3 placed inside my right knee joint after the first experience. The stuff caused my entire leg to swell and a lump formed behind my knee."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I have been getting Euflexxa injections for 8 years now, twice a year. I have no pain in my knees, only stiffness after sitting for a while. It works wonders. My doctor is very gentle in giving the injections; he numbs the area beforehand, so I never feel anything. I had bone-on-bone and arthritis in both knees. A 77-year-young woman can still hike and ride a bike. It's working for me."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I have had osteoarthritis in both knees since 1997. I had to have arthroscopy on the right knee in 1997. The pain over the years have been horrible. Last year a new ortho dr asked me to try euflexxa and I said I would try anything at this point. I was in so much pain when I went in for my first round of shots, the shots hurt so bad but my dr said....just give it time. The second shot hurt less and I could tell the shots were starting to work. The third shot still hurt and my dr kept saying trust me. 2 weeks after all 3 shots...the pain had subsided so much that I only had to take my pain meds when I went to bed. I am currently on my 3rd set of the shots and I will not go past my 6 months. This is a God send!"

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) "I am an active 60 y/o male; have had 2 surgeries to fix meniscus tears on left knee; also arthritic in that knee. I am 1 week out from 3rd injection. 1st shot was good -no side effects; 2nd shot - some increased swelling and stiffness; 3rd shot ok; one week out and I notice that I am not sore after sitting at my desk for an hour or more. I actually have to start getting used to trusting my knee when I stand up again! Definitely helped! I have not given it the acid test as I am a backpacker and I would usually get significant pain after the first couple of miles hiking. Initial reaction is that my knee is not perfect with 20% of my meniscus left, and I do still have some pain, but the shots DID HELP. No complaints."

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) "I am a 49 year old female suffering from severe osteoarthritis of right knee. Have tried steriod injections with very temporary relief (less than a month) Dr recommended Durolane. Had my injection yesterday (2/4/2021) Pain was very intense and nearly fell when I stood up to leave. Had a pounding headache by the time I got home and had a rough time getting in the house. Iced knee and took ibuprofen as recommended. Ached through the night but I was able to sleep on and off. When I woke this morning the pain is worse than before the injection. As I walked into kitchen knee gave out and I nearly fell. I am off work today and tomorrow. Praying that taking it easy and icing knee, the pain will subside soon. I'm wishing I didn't get the injection at this point. I have pain radiating in both directions (from knee to ankle/from knee to hip) I'll keep you updated on when and if this pain lets up."
