Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "60-year-old woman with bone-on-bone and need TKR. However, my doctor suggested Euflexxa, saying I was too young for surgery. I am one and a half months out from my third injection. After the first injection, I was able to sleep through the night without my knees locking, which was a huge improvement. My doctor said to take it easy for 48 hours after each injection and to ice four times a day. Right knee responded much better than the left, but I do have some pain relief in both knees. I started Physical Therapy 4 weeks prior to the injections, and the doctor advised to continue as long as my insurance will pay. My doctor advised I will be at my optimum 3 months out from the third injection."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I used Euflexxa for the first time in April 2019. Prior to that I always used Hyalgan which is the original form for this treatment and had very good results. I question my doctor on why he would want to change but he said it was a better treatment. Well, that was not the case. It was the worst thing I have ever done to my body. Within three weeks of my final injection my body went into systemic inflammatory response, I had an allergic reaction and developed something that is called poly myalgia. There is no question if Euflexxa caused the situation. Two months prior to getting the injections I had my blood work done and I was very healthy. One month after using Euflexxa, my inflammatory markers went through the roof. I was in bed for over two months. I have now been on steroids since July 2 and I'm getting better. I would stay away from that stuff."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "This was my first Euflexxa injection out of a series of three. I see a lot of people saying their injections were painful, I'm just wondering that their doctor use an ultrasound machine and watch through a sonogram while injecting? Because my injection was painless completely I didn't even feel the needle, he used the machine to watch on the screen first the injected lidocaine, kept the needle in the joint unscrew the barrel and then put the new barrel with euflexxa on so I didn't have to be poked twice very gentle. But I'm a little concerned now hearing about all of these stories of pain after the injections I don't feel any after my first one .. I'm hoping that this works for me because the clicking and popping from the patella femur arthritis syndrome so bad and the stiffness and pain is unbearable..."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I am 41 years old and have osteoarthritis in both knees. I have tried everything from steroid injections, medications, and physical therapy without any long-term relief. The steroid injections were really painful and didn't last, so I was very hesitant to try the Euflexxa. My Orthopedic Dr. gave me two choices (lubrication injections or arthroscopy). I knew that I didn't want the arthroscopy, so I went for the Euflexxa. I was terrified but needed some relief. My first injection hurt a little and my knees were sore for a few hours. My second injection hurt a little more and was sore a little longer than the first time. I will have my third injection in 2 days and can't wait. I am so glad that I did it! My knee pain is very minimal."

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I had Durolane injections on both knees and I regret it very much. I have hurt worse than before and have struggled to even walk. It’s been almost 3 weeks and starting to feel a little bit better but I’ll never do that again I’ll stick to cortisone shots until I get a knee replacement. It was so expensive above my insurance and definitely not worth it. I don’t recommend Durolane shots at all"

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "Knee, loss of cartilage in both knees. Series of 3 injections 1 week apart. The first lasted 12 months, the second lasted the same period, and now I'm getting the 3rd series. It works excellently. The use of Euflexxa has been excellent and continues to work well without pain for 12 months. This is my third series of injections."

Gelsyn-3 (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I just finished the third injection of Gelsyn. I went to the Ortho because my kees hurt at night. I was able to walk, work on my vegetable garden, and my flower bed before the injections. Now, I am not able to do anything, my knees hurt all the time and every time that I walk there is so much pain in my knees and run through my legs. Every morning when I get up, the pain is so excruciated I that have to used a walker all the time now. I sent a message to my doctor and he responded that if I am on blood thinner or have kidney problems, they can't do anything. I responded that I am not either one. He didn't tell me about the side effects. I trusted him and now I am a cripple. The nurse that administer the shots, said that it will take 6 weeks to feel better. I will see if it is true. 5/11/21"

Gelsyn-3 (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I have bone spurs and osteoarthritis in my left knee. I am a candidate for a total replacement, however, I am trying to postpone surgery for as long as I can. My doctor recommended the 3-shot series. I had my first one yesterday. I have not had any side effects from it other than a little soreness where it was injected. I am hopeful that this will buy me some time."

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "It's been 8 months to the day that I had both knees injected with Durolane. Walking and going up and down stairs is still very difficult. This has weaken my knees and leg muscles. My leg gives out now and then. My balance is off. I can't run. Who ever approved this should be sued and jailed!! My quality of life has dropped drastically. I'm 71 and can't play with my grand kids like I use to. It's like I'm 10 years older. I don't know what to do about this now!!!!! I'm giving this a 1 because I can't give a negative#"

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "Have had good results so far. Am a week out from the third injection on my left knee. Plan to start the series on my right knee next week. Injections were painless except for the last one. Definitely ice the knees after the injections and don't overdo activity for a couple of days. I think that's why the third was more painful. I am 64 with severe osteoarthritis and moderate rheumatoid arthritis. Know replacements are inevitable, but want to enjoy as much as possible until then. Good luck everyone!"

Supartz (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I have had two knee surgeries in the past 20 months. I had 3 rounds of Synvisc with no relief whatsoever. My doctor suggested Supartz. Although I was hesitant, he convinced me to try it. Boy am I glad I did. I went from walking with a noticeable limp to biking 35 to 45 miles at a clip and walking with no pain. This occurred in 5 weeks!!! I am thrilled with this medication and would recommend it to anyone suffering knee pain. The worst that could happen is it doesn't work."

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I have osteoarthritis in both knees, torn meniscus surgery three years ago. I have had two rounds of cortisone shots in the past year as well. Nothing has helped so I decided I would try the gel injections. I wish I had read the reviews before I put myself through pure misery. Both legs were injected with Durolane on December 12, 2019. They were the most painful shots I have ever had! I could barely walk after the injections at the office. I followed my doctor’s orders and iced both knees several times. By the evening I was in so much pain. I couldn’t sleep at all that night. I went the first two weeks with so much discomfort while trying to sleep. For several days I could barely walk. Now it’s been three weeks and my knees are no better. In fact, my right knee stays swollen, sore, and painful most of the time. My left knee aches daily. I can barely bend my knees, sit on the toilet, or put on clothes. I do not recommend getting these injections!"

Supartz (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I've been taking the 5 injection series for about 9-10 years and have had great success. I've found relief immediately after injection #1. The first series lasted over 18 months. I never had any pain from the injections as some people have experienced. That might be due to whether or not the needle went into a muscle or bone, not the fault of the Supartz. When my doctor gives me the injection I never even feel the needle being inserted. He's a pro."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I'm a 65-year-old male and for 2 years I've dealt with the OA in my right knee that made me think it was time for a knee replacement since I was told sometime back that it might be my next option. Went to the orthopedic doctor, took some X-rays and said he thought my pain was from a few bone spurs and OA and suggested we try the Euflexxa shots. My last shot was on the 5th of January and my knee feels great and now I can get my life back in order."

Durolane (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "This is the 6-month after injection report. The first 3- weeks I had swelling due to too much Durolane fluid in my knee. Months 2, 3, 4 & 5 got better, morning stiff but flex out as day goes along. Swelling started in month-6, not pain but sore when walking. My 3 Synvisc treatments worn out after 3-5 months. So I will get my second Durolane injection this week, see if it's as good as the first one."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I'm starting on my 2nd set of Euflexxa injections. My first series was 6 months ago. I didn't think it helped my knees very much, but thinking back over the last 6 months, I've had very little discomfort in my knees. I've hiked and played tennis all summer, so maybe it did work! I'm just now feeling the discomfort returning, so I'm now going in for another 'round' of shots. The shots are not painful for me, just a little uncomfortable but not real pain. My insurance pays for the injections. I'm 62 and have bone on bone in both knees. Just hoping to put off TKR for a while."

Gelsyn-3 (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "I am on my 2nd injection of Gelsyn-3 and the pain is gone but my knees feel wobbly, like my kneecaps are rolling around. I am going to take the 3rd injection and subsequent injections as needed along with the Kenalog injections every 3 months. In the meanwhile, I am gonna work on losing the extra 33lbs I gained because that is when the knee pain started."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "With most joint fluid replacement plans, you have to wait. MDs should be telling you to get the full series, keep your range of motion good. Don't make a decision about effectiveness until you COMPLETE the series, then wait 6-8 weeks. Be wary of the reviews of those who indicate relief after one shot."

Euflexxa (sodium hyaluronate) for Osteoarthritis "Had my second of three Euflexxa injections yesterday afternoon and am finding that my knee feels better with each shot. The injections result in a bit of a pinch followed by brief pressure, but are not painful. Seven years ago, the same doctor who is administering the shots scoped my knee to shave off bone spurs, vacuum bone chips, perform a lateral release, and micro-fracture. Ultimately, the knee is going to have to be replaced, but I'm hanging my hopes on Euflexxa for several years of additional relief before taking the jump to surgery. The downside is that my insurance company, Regence, will no longer cover Euflexxa beginning July 1, 2015. I intend to write a letter recounting my success to appeal for continuing coverage."
