"I have only been on the shot for a week now at the beginning dose, and I definitely see a difference. I have lost almost 10 lbs in the week, haven't really experienced any side effects. I can tell that my appetite has decreased tremendously and I get full quickly and remain full for a while, which forces me to not overdo it when it comes to eating. I am anxious to see what the next few months bring as the doses increase as well. Overall, I am happy to be taking Wegovy and this definitely beats going to the extreme and getting the surgery for weight loss. I chickened out of the surgery at the very last minute due to my fear of complications. Luckily, I was told about Wegovy and insurance covered it as well!"

"I gained 70 pounds during the pandemic. December 2019 I was 138 pounds standing at 5'3. Then In Jan 2021 I was 209. I started having back pain and foot pain from the weight. I tried dieting but I am a single mom that doesn't have time to cook healthy every night and I work around food so I told my Dr. he has to prescribe me something to lose weight. He seen it was taking a toll on my health as well so he started me on .25 wegovy injections. I lost 13 pounds my first month. I had nausea once or twice nothing I couldn't handle and I vomited only once. I even had more energy. Then he prescribed me the .5 the next month but pharmacies all in a 30 mile radius were on back order for the entire summer with no hopes of getting it in till end of September. I kept being persistent with pharmacist and she said have your Dr call me he can up your milligram and we can get that dose in 2 days so at this point I was desperate and starting to gain back the 13 pounds I lost. So I was upped to 1.7. OMG"

"I'm a 59 6'1" year old female weighing 258 pounds when I started taking Wegovy one week ago. I had no major side effects. Just a slight problem with constipation but Miralax helped. I did feel a little more tired in the evenings. My appetite has definitely decreased. I took my second shot this morning. As of the first week, I've lost 6.1 pounds. My goal is to lose at least 30 pounds. It was difficult to get approval from my health insurance, but after several appeals, I finally received approval for 6 months. My out-of-pocket cost is $25."

"Wegovy has helped me lose 50 pounds over the past 6 months. The shots were easy to inject with pre-measured pens. The side effects were minimal, but mostly feelings of fullness early on which kept me from overeating. The worst side effect was constipation, which I already had a problem with."

"My doctor is not a fan of Wegovy, but will put a pre-diabetic (6.4) on METFORMIN. After I requested to try Wegovy, I was given a prescription to start the 0.25 medication in April and lost about 7 pounds. The medication keeps me from eating a lot and controls my nighttime urges. I wanted to continue but the shortage of medication happened. In July, my doctor wrote a prescription for 1.0 mg, skipping over the next step which was 0.50 mg. I questioned if that was okay to do. Well, I had an adverse effect. I started itching, which did not happen before. Her recommendation was to not take it anymore and try to lose weight the old-fashioned way. Diet and exercise do work, but sometimes you need a jump start. That is what I was doing and it was working. My doctor, I believe, did not educate me enough because she still believes in Metformin, which I cannot take. I believe Wegovy is a great start and it does work, but you need a doctor that understands how the medication works."

"Taking for BMI over 32%, weight reduction. Started weighing 220 lbs. Currently at 1.7 mg dose, with 2 weeks remaining. Since starting, I have lost 20 lbs. However, I will be discontinuing Wegovy due to the intolerable side effects. Ended up in the ER for vomiting, diarrhea, and flu-like symptoms. They gave me fluids, anti-nausea and cramping meds. That was around 24 hours ago and while I can keep liquids and soup down initially, I end up vomiting then uncontrollably retching hours later. It's been near impossible to eat healthy or at all, with a lack of appetite and a sudden aversion to the smell and taste of certain foods. I regret not giving my energy to a healthier lifestyle and am wondering how long it will take for the Wegovy to leave my system. Please take all side effects into consideration before taking."

"I have just started my 1mg dose. I am on week 8 as I did mess up a shot on my 0.5 weeks. So far, I have had ZERO negative symptoms aside from constipation. I have noticed that in my first week on a new dose, I would lose a lot of weight and then kind of just stay for the remaining doses. I have not changed my diet on purpose but have stopped overeating dramatically. I started at 247 lbs and am down to 230 lbs."

"I have to say this works well for me. I've lost 25 pounds. I'm on the last dose. The only side effects that I've found are feeling tired, and with this last pack, I've noticed that I'm very achy to the touch. Has anyone ever experienced muscle aches, or more of a tingly feeling, kind of like shingles to a point, but tolerable?"

"It's wonderful, if a person can afford $1400 a month out of pocket. I'm on Medicaid & Medicare, so I can't afford it every month. It really controlled my appetite, some nausea, but all in all, it worked great. I paid out of pocket as long as I could. But, there's no way I can afford it every month. Great product if you can afford it."

"I took 0.25 dose the first month and lost 10 lbs. Mild symptoms of dizziness here and there. Then didn't take it for the next month because it was on back order. I'm on the 3rd injection of the 0.5 and have lost 9 more lbs. Side effects are a little more dizziness and very tired for a couple of days after the injection. I slept a lot and drank lots of water and chicken broth for these symptoms. Appetite is definitely curbed. I eat 2 meals and a protein smoothie. Low carb/high protein. I lift weights at the gym because you lose fat and muscle on this drug. That's why it's easy to gain weight back when you stop taking it. Drink lots of water all day. Because I'm losing good and the side effects are manageable, I'm going to stay on this 0.5 dose for now. I hope to lose a total of 70 lbs. My insurance covers it, so my copay is $25 a month."

"I began Wegovy 6 weeks ago. My doctor set me up by prescribing 0.25 mg dosage. I lost 10 lbs the first month. After an extended scavenger hunt of attempting to get more Wegovy. All that was available was the higher doses. So my doctor prescribed I advance to 1.7 based on availability. I took the first dose of 1.7 last Thursday, July 6th. I felt very nauseous and was up every 2 hours vomiting. I was weak, dizzy, and sick on the 7th and 8th and could not eat. I was able to eat a yogurt and a peanut butter sandwich daily since then. The good news is I have lost 5 more pounds! I do find the injection easy to use. This week I will use half of the 1.7 dosage to avoid the sickness of the past 2 days. I love that this method for weight loss is available! But jumping to a much higher dose, instead of the expected dosage, was a really bad idea."

"Wegovy worked really well at first. I was terrified of all the horrible first-trimester type side effects everyone littered the internet with, but fortunately for me, I did not experience anything except some constipation, which was easily cured by adding more fruit and veggies to whatever I was able to eat. By the 1mg dose, I started waking up having panic attacks. I have never had depression, anxiety, or any sort of issue like this. I would get triggered by getting disturbed in the middle of my night sleep (which, as a mother, is inevitable). The panics included nausea, shaking (as if I was cold but I wasn’t), writhing and stretching in bed in full body discomfort, and just hysterically uneasy and praying for relief. It happened several times after that, and today as I write this, I just worked through a .5 dose panic attack as I tried to lower the dose, and it didn’t help. Everyone is different, but just know this is from the medicine, and you are not going insane."

"I am on week 2, getting ready for the 3rd shot tomorrow. I must be an odd duck because the shot gives me energy and controls my appetite. It also cleared my head, I have no brain fog suddenly. I have had no nausea or constipation yet. Last night, we made hamburgers and I think I overate because I woke up about half an hour after I went to bed, totally nauseous and threw up dinner. I went right back to bed and back to sleep and felt great in the morning. After reading other people's reviews, I think they are right - you need to portion control your food and be totally cognizant to recognize when you're full and not overeat just because it tastes good. That is what has gotten me to this place I am in right now, being overweight. I have lost 5 lbs so far and need to lose around 115 more. Here's hoping Wegovy can take me to the finish line in weight loss."

"I am in week 8, and I have lost 19 lbs. My starting weight was 204. I had some side effects the first week - upset stomach, tiredness, and diarrhea. But I feel my body was adjusting to the medication. I have had minimal side effects since the first week. The biggest thing I noticed was I don't crave things I craved before, like sweets. I am a little nervous because finding the correct next dosages has been very, very difficult. I've had to call every pharmacy in my area and drive over 50 miles to find the medication. I hope the shortage ends soon. Besides the unknown, I am really happy with my progress, 8/10 so far."

"Good success in the first month at 0.25. 78 years old, male, good health. Started at 248 and now I'm at 228 exactly four weeks later. Coupled with a one-hour intensive hike every day, as well as a draconian (unsustainable) diet. I do this combo every few years and can generally bring my weight down to 210 with great effort. I'm hoping that with Wegovy I can keep the weight off. I'm a foodie who bakes, and I love SUGAR! So, a lot of this early weight loss was easy because I just eliminated all sweets. No more of my precious Mexican coke in ice-cold bottles, NYT cheesecake, home-baked cookies, and croissants!! Just water to drink (lots!) and two small meals a day. Nuts and a teaspoon of peanut butter to curb food desires. Again, not sustainable unless I can get to a Wegovy level which dampens my desire. No significant side effects so far, but I'm moving to 0.5 today. My GERD is gone, my knees feel better, and sleep apnea reduced."

"I started wegovy April 2023. I'm at 1.0 mg now. I have lost 30lbs along with exercise and watching my calories (1200 a day). The nausea is horrible, but I have to lose the weight for health reasons. I'm 5'1 and over 300lbs with bad asthma and CHF. Wegovy has helped me tremendously. I give it a 10."

"Administered my first (AND LAST) shot Tuesday, 6/20. Starting about 9 hours later that day, it's been vomiting and diarrhea nonstop. Can't keep ginger ale down, Can't keep dry toast down. Can't keep plain crackers down. I have no clue where the stuff coming out of me is coming from. I wasn't a big eater prior to the injection, just with my age, I can't seem to drop pounds. With what I've been going through the last 48 hours (AND STILL AM), I will not be taking any further injections. HOPE it works for all of you, but not for me."

"Day 3 on the lowest dose of Wegovy. I feel like my pain medication “hydrocodone” and ADHD medication, Adderall, are hardly working. I feel like I need to double my other medications because of this. Obviously, I’m not because they are both serious medications that I’ve been taking for a couple of years now. Cannot find any information on this issue anywhere."
