For Diabetes, Type 2 "I am on my 3rd month of taking Ozempic. No decrease in A1C as of yet. Weight loss, none. Ease of use, I find handling the needles cumbersome. The needles are smaller than Trulicity and less painful to inject. Less bruising at injection site. Current side effects: Nausea, stomach pain, stomach discomfort, swelling, bloating, increased constipation, increased hunger, sour stomach, headaches. I find I am forced to take additional medication/supplements in attempting to eliminate some of the side effects. I've taken stool softeners and laxatives in order to improve constipation with limited success. I am taking pain reliever almost daily for headaches. I am also taking medication to help ease the nausea with limited success."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have experienced severe gas, belching, flatulence, moderate nausea all night, not heartburn but feels like seasickness, and moderate constipation. Have had about a 7 pounds weight loss in a month. Simple to use with no problems injecting or at the injection site."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "4 weeks @ .25 and on the third week @ .50.......so far appetite is controlled the first 4 days and then appetite increases to close to normal......was eating low carb for 4-6 weeks before starting the drug and have continued to stay low carb.....about 10 lbs down at this point (7 weeks). I use the injection site of my upper arm and believe that contributes to low side effects. Hoping the higher dosages will give more control of appetite, my only problem has been constipation."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started Ozempic to assist with my A1C. It was at 7.3 or so. After a month or two, it went down to 5.3. I have lost almost 50 pounds in the year I have been on it (up to 1mg dose). It really works to suppress the appetite most of the time. The bad: diarrhea, belching (especially after high-carb or sugar foods), nausea at times (when I first started it was horrible), going from not hungry to starving to puking in a matter of seconds. My husband is also on it but he doesn't have the same side effects. It's easy to use if you can get over poking yourself with a needle every week. I get some injection site burning pain that goes away quickly."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started Ozempic 6 weeks ago on a .25 dose. I didn't even notice anything different. I was using my stomach area as the injection site. After the 2nd, and 3rd doses, I began feeling sick to my stomach for the first few days after my injection. That's when I began doing more research and found this page. I'm grateful for all the helpful reviews. Someone suggested that I use my thigh as an injection site which and it really helped reduce my nausea. I was a little apprehensive about how I would feel once I increased the dose on the 5th week. But I haven't noticed any difference. I've lost a few pounds maybe about 5. But I have noticed that it has suppressed my appetite. I also took the advice given here to eat smaller meals throughout the day. My blood sugar readings have gone down quite a bit from a 30 day average of 144 down to 110. I could never get my fasting count lower than 120. So far my lowest reading has been 85 and I am totally thrilled. Thanks for all the advice and help."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Just completing week one at the low dose. I did the research after being given the prescription and expected there would be side effects so planned for it. I bought antacids and gravol and waited. The injection site is the thigh, and I got a small bruise. I did not feel the injection at all. I had minor side effects on day one, of a headache and feeling queasy. Since then only some belching if I over eat. it is like my brain suddenly recognizes I have eaten."

"I underwent lap band surgery several years ago and am currently taking Ozempic. If given the option, I recommend choosing Ozempic over lap band surgery due to their similar side effects. However, if it is possible to manage diabetes and weight with an alternative medication, I suggest doing so. It's important to administer the injection in the thigh as other injection sites tend to cause worse side effects. The side effects of Ozempic are persistent and severe, and unfortunately, they are unpredictable. One week you may experience minimal side effects, while the next week, at the same dosage, the side effects may be so severe that you will need to miss work. Ozempic causes extreme fatigue, unlike any other fatigue I have experienced. My eyes struggle to stay open. Additionally, I have suffered from intense constipation for two weeks with minimal relief from laxatives, followed by a few days of uncontrollable diarrhea and acid reflux. I no longer enjoy food; it no longer tastes good, and fruit or tea is no longer refreshing or soothing. I believe there must be a balance between enjoying food and weight loss."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "INJECT YOURSELF IN THE THIGH! I had every one of the listed symptoms, then switched the injection site from my abdomen to my thigh. Night and day difference. I lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks, which was totally unexpected. I am happy my Dr prescribed Ozempic."
