For Bacterial Vaginosis "I decided to write a positive review because I always get scared away by negatives, and then I remember, most people don’t write reviews when they’re satisfied! So this is the second time I’ve taken Solosec for BV. I get BV every few months. Yes, the taste is bad, but I just added some cinnamon to my applesauce and swallowed big spoonfuls, and within a minute, I was done. I have a lot of health issues, although I’m young, and most of them are digestive/gastrointestinal, so certain side effects are a concern for me (diarrhea, nausea, etc.). Last time I took it, I had horrible cramping pretty soon after taking it and had a couple of episodes with diarrhea before it settled down. I was fine. This time, no side effects so far (took it 5 hours ago). It cost me $25 last time with a coupon and $10 this time with my insurance, which seems odd to me, but doesn’t matter. It cured every symptom in 24 hours last time, so I’m hopeful for this time too!!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so. This is absolutely the worst medication I have ever taken. Immediately after taking the medication, I started feeling nauseous. I’ve been having the most painful headache, nausea, and diarrhea. I feel so dehydrated and have drunk over 64 ounces of water in just a few hours. I am hoping that it will flush this medication out of my system."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was prescribed Flagyl, but when I asked for something with fewer doses and no contraindication to alcohol, as I had an upcoming event involving cocktails, she prescribed this medicine, Solosec. She warned me about the taste but assured me it was completely safe to consume alcohol with this medication. I mixed it in 3 tablespoons of raspberry yogurt, swallowing each spoonful quickly and chasing it with water. Not terrible at all. This was around 1 PM. I had a few drinks between 6:30 and 9 PM. I was very nauseous by 9:30, and by 10 I was RUNNING to the bathroom. It started with explosive diarrhea, leading to drenching sweats that had me stripping off my clothes in the bathroom just in time to bury my head in the trash can. This went on and on the entire night. I felt like I was going to die! It is now 4 PM the next day, and I have barely managed a few crackers and ginger ale, I haven't left the couch for more than a few minutes. Needless to say, I will never take this medication again."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Ok, so I took this, and I woke up the next day throwing up constantly every 30 to 15 mins. Lasted till that next night, till 3 a.m. I still don't feel good. I took it Thursday, and it’s Sunday now. I have diarrhea and feel like I am going to throw up again. Wouldn’t take it again. I just hope that it fixed my BV, because if not, all of that would be for nothing."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took this medication 6 days ago and am unfortunately still having a really strange side effect of feeling like I’m sucking on a sour penny all the time. My tongue is yellow and tastes horribly sour and bitter, especially after eating a meal. My doctor's office has not heard of this as a side effect yet, but hopefully I’m not alone... I experienced nausea, fatigue, and a very strange bout of (oddly painless) diarrhea on day 4 that snuck up on me out of nowhere after eating a poke bowl from a place I always eat poke from with no issues - perhaps this medication and raw fish do not mix well? Anyway, I’d never take it again due to the weird yellow tongue, bitter taste, and dry mouth. As far as the BV symptoms go, I’m not really sure if it cured it. I’ve never had BV before and I originally went in for a yeast infection and got the result of yeast and BV to treat. Good luck to everyone taking it for the first time."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Do not under any circumstances be convinced by your doctor to take this medicine! Like others, I was gagging the entire time I was attempting to finish my pudding. I was also very lightheaded and nauseous afterward. I had diarrhea for the rest of that day. I emailed the company to ensure that there were no other contraindications I should be aware of. I mean, I felt terrible! It’s been longer than a week, and they never got back to me. Obviously, I called my doctor that day, knowing Solosec reps wouldn’t reply ASAP. They told me to wait it out and call back if severe symptoms persisted. Okay, sure. To my surprise, they never replied at all. I continued having symptoms of upset stomach/nausea the next day. This is a new drug that’s being pushed to patients. I read the fine print stating that they have not ruled out carcinogenic effects. Lol, wow. I always take the reviews of drugs I see online with a grain of salt. This time I didn’t even check the reviews, and I paid for it."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Do not drink any amount of alcohol. I didn’t read this anywhere on the package or labeling. Had 5 oz beer 24 hours later and had severe vomiting and diarrhea 3 hours later. I was vomiting up the granular balls. It was so disgusting. Never again."
