For Depression "I was put on 25 mg of Seroquel at age 15 due to major depression. I agree with the previous comment made, even on such a low dose, I also feel I'm in a chemical straightjacket. I have trouble thinking straight, I can't concentrate for over 15 minutes, my sleep is average - it's extremely hard to wake up. I also find I'm so much angrier and impulsive, I stutter and can't form words, as well as shaking uncontrollably in my legs when I get anxious. I also get headaches at least twice per week. However, my family and close friends have noticed a considerable improvement in my mental health, e.g., suicidal thoughts have almost stopped completely, and an increase in more 'happy Emma days.' Such a strong, powerful, and dangerous med."

For Depression "In the beginning, I was on 300 mg of Seroquel (not extended release) for 3 years. Got pregnant, they took me off. I moved provinces, they ended up putting me back on a smaller dose, 150 mg. Sleeping-wise, I would go to sleep right away and stay asleep all night. For the past 2 months, they decided to put me on 150 mg Seroquel XL. Now it takes me hours to fall asleep, and I wake up constantly throughout the night and have a hard time falling back asleep! I feel like XL does not work near as good, depression-wise and sleeping-wise."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have suffered from major depression since early adolescence and have been exposed to over two dozen different antidepressants in the last 30 years. Expensive, ineffective, grossly negative side effects to skin and chronic fatigue daily. Trying another high-cost drug, a desperate last resort. Each dirty little pill failed, with an accumulated cost of more than $15,000 to the patient asking for help. Negligent dispensation of Seroquel XR also resulted in a near-fatal car wreck for the patient. Aside from losing my car and job, I was privileged to gain 40 pounds... and counting. Chronic insomnia kills drivers, truckers, pilots, and boat captains every day. Drug companies need to try a lot harder to promote healing rather than just bankroll profits."

For Schizophrenia "I have been on it for 2.5 years, I gained 30 lbs. At a point, it has stopped working for me. I started having crying spells and insomnia. I am now going to try Latuda."

For Depression "I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 8 months ago (I'm 19), but I do not have that. Instead, I have BPD and depression. I was taking olanzapine, which took away my entire life - I could barely do anything. But for the past 2 days with Seroquel, it has almost the opposite effect. Together with Prozac, I have felt more motivated and less suicidal. Also, I'm able to control my anxiety, and I have more control over my behavior. I also have trouble focusing, but this has helped me focus on therapy a lot more. Sleep is not great, but I'm only on 25mg; I only sleep for about 6-7 hours and then wake up and keep going back to sleep. This is the first drug that's given me hope."
