Psyllium for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I had the worst diarrhea for over two years and complete bowel incontinence for twenty-five years. I was prescribed cholestyramine but could not get myself to take this plastic resin powder. I did some research and saw a small similarity with Metamucil, so I tried it. That was more than a month ago. It changed my life, no more cramps, bloating, gas, diarrhea, no more complete poop accidents in public. I wake up, move my bowel perfectly normal, and I am good to go all day. I am beyond grateful. I take 2 teaspoons of powder a day every day. Please give it a try."

Psyllium for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Have been reading the reviews for Metamucil with interest. My own experience is vastly different from what I am reading. It is actually causing worse diarrhea for me. I am going to try it in pill form instead of the powder to see if it makes a difference."

For Dietary Fiber Supplementation "I have had microscopic colitis for 9 years. It was supposed to go away after 2 to 3 years, but did not, obviously. Cortisone works, but cannot be used for very long, plus it raised my A1C to 6.9. Psyllium powder (sugar-free) is the only thing that works long term. One teaspoonful morning and night well after meals does the trick. Skip a dose and diarrhea returns immediately. Not affected by what I eat. Lipids are low, A1C remaining 5.5 - 5.9. Soluble fiber (Benefiber) does not work."

Psyllium for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I was told to take this 40 years ago, but didn't like the taste/texture. My pain and diarrhea got so bad I started taking 1 scant tablespoon a day and I have no more pain and only rare diarrhea. I wish I had started using it years ago."
