For Performance Anxiety "Propranolol launched my career! I suffered from severe fight-or-flight syndrome during presentations, interviews, meetings, and even phone calls. Symptoms included rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweating, weak voice, etc. I started taking these almost a year ago and have since been promoted to a director position. I present to our entire organization and lead meetings with our executive team - symptom-free! I use 10 mg for meetings and up to 40 mg for presentations and interviews. I have also used 10 mg before a golf tournament and the 1st tee box jitters were completely gone. The rest of my game still sucked, but it felt good not to dribble the first one off the tee!"

For Panic Disorder "I've been on propranolol 80mg for 2 years along with mirtazapine 15mg. On these two meds, I will say I feel absolutely amazing. It stops my panic attacks like a cure and helps with stopping me thinking about the panic disorder. I used to get fast heart rate, hot flashes, turning stomach, and racing thoughts, but not anymore. It's a miracle combo, yippee! So yeah, it works differently on different bodies. It's how your body responds to the medication. For me, it slows my heart rate down, not dangerously low, but low enough where I feel more relaxed, yet with energy. I feel happier with a mild euphoria, and my sweating goes away. My sweaty hands have stopped, and the shivering has gone. If anyone is suffering from anxiety, please try propranolol first. It will make the difference. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

For Anxiety "Ok, here we are 3 months later. I've been taking 40mg of propranolol for anxiety, and they worked for the first 2 months, leaving me with fatigue but taking the edge off it, like a horse with blinkers on. Now, I take it and I feel worse with excess sweating and nonsensical thoughts whipping up my anxiety. I am at a loss, the doctor said to increase it, and my thoughts are, where does it end! I personally think I am going to decrease it by biting half the tablet and try something else. It is dreadful. I really do feel for people suffering from anxiety, there is no easy fix. I tend to use alcohol which works but is short-lived and comes with its own payoff. I am stuck. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks."

For Anxiety "After 2 weeks of shakes, shivers, sweating bucketloads, wanting to jump out from my own skin from sickening restlessness, palpitations, chest pain, nausea and 2 weeks of herbal remedies which helped zilch. My GP put me on 40mg Propranolol. And lo and behold, sweating sickness with shakes and shivers stopped, I am able to concentrate and looks like I finally will be able to have a decent night's sleep! P.S.: I can't take SSRIs and definitely don't want benzos, thus this is perfect for me thus far. Plus, it protects heart from a heart attack which is very likely due to strong family history at the young age, and treats migraine. Three birds shot with one tablet and feels like I won the lottery :)"

For Performance Anxiety "I recently was promoted but with that came public speaking. I was a mess! Sweating, shortness of breath, shaking, not being able to think straight... It was awful! My doctor prescribed this and the transformation was unbelievable!"

For Migraine Prevention "It's been a month since I started propranolol for my migraines. Before this, I had at least 2 migraines each month. They lasted three days, complete with light/sound sensitivity and nausea. I would frequently have 4+ migraines a month, especially if I was under a lot of stress. A month in, I have not had a single migraine. I've had some pressure in those typical (for me) migraine areas and even some slight light sensitivity, but no pain. So, my body is trying to have migraines and can't. I'll take it. I haven't noticed any major side effects, though I will say if I miss my morning dose, I can tell come afternoon. I feel sweaty and my heart gets sort of fluttery, like I'm having a severe bout of anxiety, which is not fun. I think I'm also benefiting from the anxiety applications of this medication. I am generally less tense in my shoulders and neck and feel more relaxed in my day. So far, I am extremely pleased with my experiences with propranolol."

For Anxiety "I usually don't write reviews for stuff like this, but I took this today for the first time (40mg tablet). Over the past several months, I have been really struggling to get through work meetings, presentations, and general social events. Even driving has been a struggle as I get irritable very easily lately, especially in peak hour traffic. I break out into a sweat and get really hot, I bounce my legs and become fidgety, my chest tightens, heart races, and I cannot think properly. I start to stress out because I cannot control the physical symptoms, and it just makes it worse. It has been absolutely exhausting. Today I felt normal for the first time in a while, while driving and facilitating groups, meeting new people. Everything was fine :)"

For Anxiety "Really excellent medicine for alleviating the physical symptoms of anxiety. I was skeptical about taking this as my anxiety (or so I thought) was mostly manifesting as mental anxiety. I now realize just how much I can reduce my anxiety levels as a whole by taking this medicine. I've only taken it twice - 40mg once a day, although I think 60mg may be the sweet spot for me. I don't get uncontrollable heart palpitations, sweating, voice cracking, and full body shakes. In fact, I feel comfortable and in control, hence, my thoughts are clearer and less agitated, and thus the mental anxiety is also somewhat relieved."

For Panic Disorder "This pill is nothing short of a miracle drug. I was hesitant at first, but after reading all of these comments, I figured why not give it a shot. I had a bad presentation about a year ago, and ever since then, I’ve been petrified of standing in front of a large group of people and giving a few-minute presentation. I just did a 30-minute presentation, and by golly, did the pill work. I took 40 mg around 2 hours before, then another 20 mg 45 minutes before the presentation. It completely got rid of the physical symptoms, including red face, quivering voice, and sweating. That presentation was a breeze... it should be a legit crime that people don’t know about this drug. Doctors don’t have a problem prescribing it because it’s an old medicine and makes it nearly impossible to take too much."

For Anxiety "I started taking this prescription medication in August to control what I call 'blushing attacks,' which seem to transpire out of nowhere during a conversation and quickly snowball until the situation becomes so awkward that I have to leave the room quickly as I am sweating quite badly. Although I normally take the lowest dose (10 mg), it has alleviated my symptoms 90% of the time. Today I had a mild 'blushing attack' after taking my 10 mg tablet, but it basically stopped what would have been a severe one two-thirds of the way in its tracks. On that note, with the advice from my doctor, I may take a 20 mg tablet next time I feel particularly stressed and just 10 mg in everyday situations. 9/10."

For Anxiety "I've been on propranolol 10 mg 1x/daily (AM) for anxiety for 1 month. It seems to be combating physical symptoms pretty quickly. Ex) I have thick hair, and it feels like I'm always wearing a hat. Especially after I shower, my face gets hot, my hair traps it, and my face sweats, making my anxiety worse. Since starting this drug, the sweating stops sooner, and I don't feel hot as long. I don't feel PVCs anymore, and the thought of leaving my house doesn't make me want to cry. The tightness in my chest stopped, I don't feel like a live grenade, and I'm less irritable. I have gained about 5 lbs, and if this isn't temporary, I'll have to stop the drug. I have body dysmorphia, so weight gain is not tolerable for me. Finally, I have had a few dizzy spells on this drug if I don't eat enough. I'm happy so far, and hope I can stay around this dose so I don't have cardiac side effects when I end up stopping. There goes my anxiety again!"

For Anxiety "I hate presenting, and my voice cracks, and my heart beats very quickly while doing so. With this drug propranolol, I still feel nervous, but the symptoms of nervousness aren’t there (no fast heartbeat, no voice cracking, no body shaking, etc.). I do notice, though, I sweat like crazy when I take this, but my thinking is more smooth and not all over the place. For example, I feel I think more clearly under pressure with this. I also get an upset stomach after taking this. Overall, propranolol is very good."

For Performance Anxiety "Okay, first off, my anxiety has gotten worse the past couple of years to the point where if my boss calls me into his office to talk to me one-on-one, I get sweaty palms, a quivering voice, and chest pain. Well... I came to this site, saw what you guys had to say, and I got a prescription for propranolol thinking it would help me. Guess what? It's a total GAME CHANGER. My boss called me into his office today to try to intimidate me, and I was just like, 'Hey boss, what's new? What can I do for you?' I just treated him like it was no big deal, and he wasn't intimidating me one bit. I put a bead on him and looked him directly in his eyes and was cool and calm. I could have NEVER done that before. Thanks, everyone on here. Propranolol is the real deal."

For High Blood Pressure "I've been taking Propranolol for a few weeks, and I have to say that it did get rid of the headaches that came along with my high blood pressure. Also, my BP did go down. I was pre-hypertension at 130/110. After a week, I started to notice that I am constantly nauseous and tired. I have been wiped of all energy and beginning to have insomnia worse than usual. When I do fall asleep, I have these odd dreams that cause me to wake up after only a few hours of sleep. Once I wake from the nightmares, I am sweating profusely, and it is uncomfortable. I also noticed that my heart rate slowed a bit to 65 bpm resting, not sure if that's bad or not. Overall, I am not happy with Propranolol 60 mg and will not be taking it anymore!"

For Anxiety "I requested this medication from my GP as an alternative to the benzos she was suggesting to help with my anxiety at work. I had done some research, and I had read that beta-blockers would help with the physical symptoms of my anxiety (trembling, sweating, stammering) without altering my mental state. I was told to take the lowest dose (10 mg) an hour before work and see if that helped. It worked incredibly. Although the actual feelings of anxiety were still present, I was able to come across as calm and collected. My hands no longer shook, I wasn't sweating buckets, and I could speak confidently. This quickly helped me to manage the feelings of anxiety, and I'm glad that I was able to use this drug as an alternative to a potentially addicting benzo."

For Performance Anxiety "I thought I was going to have to drop out of college because I was completely unable to do any kind of presentation in front of the class. I actually am very social and have no other kind of anxiety, but when it came time for me to do a presentation, I couldn't talk, my hands were shaking, my heart was going to race out of my chest, and I was sweating heavily. I literally ran out of the classroom and stayed in the bathroom the whole time. I tried again and again and failed each time I tried to present. The anxiety was awful. I went to my PCP and asked her about propranolol (I'd been researching possible meds) and she had no problem prescribing it. I've had two presentations this week and I did them like a boss! This is a wonder drug!"

For Anxiety "I was prescribed Propranolol 80 mg for anxiety while driving. I was so scared to drive! My mouth would go dry (my mouth would stop producing saliva-seriously!), I would sweat under my arms profusely, my legs would feel like jelly after stepping out of the car, and my feet would twitch as I was so nervous! I take one 80 mg tablet before driving (I sometimes take two if I'm feeling very anxious). I resumed driving today, and it was a much better experience! I didn't sweat at all, I don't feel scared, my legs don't feel like jelly, my mouth still goes dry, but it's not a huge problem like it was-as I could not produce saliva at all as I was so nervous! Lastly, I do not twitch at all! I do not have any side effects, such as nightmares."

For Anxiety "This was added to my Adderall XR doses. I am not sure it works, but these two have been hand in hand for years now. I know others who have taken it for speeches and have felt no anxiety. I guess I am less angry all the time. I am now taking bipolar meds, and I guess it’s supposed to help with certain side effects of those, so kudos, I guess. I’ll say the only side effect I noticed was an initial overheating and sweating when I first started, but that went away pretty quick."

For Performance Anxiety "As a high schooler who has had bad anxiety since middle school, Propranolol is my savior. I get a red face, shaky hands and legs, weak voice, extremely dry throat, sweaty, and fast heartbeat when I have to read or present anything in front of one or more people. I even sometimes get those when just talking to people who I don't know. I took a Propranolol pill on the first day of school when I knew I would be very anxious and talking to many new people. It was a miracle. I was confident and had no trouble talking. Since then, I have also tried it for presentations, and I delivered a speech for the first time without embarrassing myself with visible and extreme nervous symptoms. I could actually talk without swallowing every 2 seconds. I love it."

For Performance Anxiety "Never posted a review on anything before, but felt moved to with propranolol. I never had a problem with presentations until a bad experience last year, and since then I had completely lost my confidence. Not a good thing in the role I am in. I got a prescription from my doctor, and it really has transformed everything. I have only ever used it when giving a presentation-I take 40 mg (Inderal) an hour to 45 minutes before the presentation, and it works within 5 minutes. You're calm and controlled. Your brain tries to get your adrenaline going and heart pumping, and your body just refuses to. It creates a positive feedback loop, almost as if your body tells your brain, 'Look, there's absolutely NOTHING to worry about'-your brain relaxes, and off you go-no shaking, trembling, sweating, or shaky voice. It's difficult to put into words how grateful I am for propranolol, and whilst my aim is not to have to use it, it's there if I need it."

For Performance Anxiety "I have always suffered from a fear of public speaking and had extreme flight/fight symptoms when I had to present to even a small group. This would see me sweating, blushing, shaking so much I couldn’t hold my papers or drink a glass of water, my voice trembling or cracking, and a desperate urge to run from the room. The patronizing attitude from people who do not have this debilitating issue and tell you, ‘don’t be nervous’ or ‘just practice, take deep breaths and be confident,’ was so unhelpful. I went to my doctor and prescribed 40 mg and tried this before my first job interview in twenty years. I was still naturally nervous and not sure if tablets would work. However, once I started my presentation, I could talk clearly, no shaking, lots of eye contact. I simply exuded more and more confidence the more I spoke, and I smashed the interview. My only regret is I waited 25 years."

For Performance Anxiety "I was horrendous at talking publicly and had run away from giving presentations so much so that I had changed jobs and never given a presentation in my life. I took a new job I knew I would love, but it involved presentations, so I went to my doc. He prescribed propranolol quick release, and what can I say? Amazing... Now, timing and amounts are trial and error. I am a big guy - 6'2", 220 lbs, so for me, I stagger mine and take 80 mg 1 hour 45 minutes before, 80 mg 1 hour 30 minutes before, and 80 mg 1 hour 15 minutes before, and for that hour, I am amazing. So, 240 mg in total. I would not recommend starting out on this dose. For women, try 20 mg and men 40 mg and move up if required. Side effects for me - hard to sleep if I have taken after 2 pm, extra sweating, and no cardio within 4 hours."

For Anxiety "I was given Propranolol for heart palpitations. It was ongoing for a few days due to anxiety and stress. I was given 10 mg to be taken twice a day and three times a day for 3 days. I did not react well to this medication. Day two, I started to feel drunk and in another world. My eyesight was not right. I was unable to eat, I couldn't sleep. It caused severe panic, shaking, and sweating. I stopped taking it after day 4. Stopping this medication suddenly can be unsafe for people with heart issues, but I had to stop taking it due to the side effects. It caused me horrible withdrawal even after 4 days of taking it, I was even more sick after I had stopped. It's now day 6 after stopping, and I'm almost back to normal. I do not recommend this product."

For Performance Anxiety "Having had panic attacks for decades when doing presentations, interviews, standing in line at the grocery shop, taking care of bank errands, sitting in meetings, talking on the phone... and on it goes... propranolol has really helped a lot. I still get the dooming feelings before the attacks, and I'm still sweating, but I'm not going completely blank or shaking until I fall out of my chair. Actually, when it's my turn, I'm pretty cool besides the sweating, but that's not a big issue for me."
