For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the Urgent Care for an especially debilitating migraine and was given some medication through an IV. Almost immediately, I felt like ripping out my IV and jumping off the top of the building! Finally, the nurse came in and kinda chuckled at my sobbing hysterical state, saying that, 'Some patients have this kind of reaction to Compazine, but you can be glad it's all done.' But for a while after, I kept going to the restroom, thinking if I just did a 'normal thing' like peeing, I would suddenly feel 'normal again,' but I continued to feel panicked. I got Benadryl through an IV, and I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was frantic to get out of there. I still had a bad headache and felt so panicky but had to get out of there because I was so afraid. I learned that reaction is called a panic attack and have had several more since then. I still get migraines too but know to never again accept treatment at all similar to this nightmare drug."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Y'all, my experience was exactly like so many others. I was having dizzy spells for over a week and then suddenly had the world's worst headache, so I went in. They gave me Toradol and Compazine through an IV, and within ten minutes, I thought I was going insane. I asked to go to the bathroom just to get out of the room. I couldn't sit still and felt so panicked. On my way back from the bathroom, I seriously considered ripping out my IV. When the nurse came in, I stopped my fluids and went home. Had to sign a paper that I was refusing treatment, but I couldn't be in that room any longer."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Went to the ER twice with a severe migraine, both times given Compazine. It definitely helps with relieving the pain, but the side effects outweigh it for me. Felt like my skin was crawling, restlessness, skin rash, dry mouth, anxiety (triggered a panic attack both times), brought up a lot of bad thoughts of how I was dying. Long term, rebound headache, insomnia, loss of appetite. Also had it with Benadryl once, and that scared me."

For Nausea/Vomiting "This was, like many others on here have said, a terrifying ER experience. I was given Compazine for what they thought was a migraine, plus Benadryl because they warned me about the anxiety. Upon giving it to me via IV, I felt a wave of panic enter my body. My heart stopped for a moment. I immediately wanted to get out of the hospital and tried to rip my IV out. I thought that would be the end of it. But it wasn't. I had crippling anxiety over the next 5 days! Yes, FIVE days. I had constant panic attacks where I would have to stop driving and pull over. One time I almost fainted during a meeting and had to go to the clinic. This drug made me dizzy, lightheaded, feeling like I was going to pass out all the time, gave me the strangest head pressure/tingling feeling, heart racing constantly. I will never ever take this drug again. Worst experience."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Was given this drug in the ER for a migraine and nausea, they didn’t tell me what they were given, and I had the worst headache and didn’t even ask. Lo and behold, this medicine ruined my life after one dose!!! Was given with Benadryl, and I felt extremely anxious, panicky, my legs and body were so restless I thought I was gonna die on the CT table. I couldn’t put words together. It’s been 5 days, and I’m still not the same: panic attacks galore, anxiety, tight band around head/headache, fear of doom, and dizziness galore. This should be illegal."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the ER when I was experiencing headaches and vomiting due to a new medication I was put on. The doctors gave me Compazine, Toradol, and Benadryl through my IV. After a few minutes, I experienced the worst feelings of my life. I was thrown into a huge panic attack, I couldn't sit still, my heart rate rose to over 130. I had to stay in the hospital for 5 extra hours just to get my heart rate to return to normal. It took 24+ hours for the initial panic feeling to go away, and now going on 48 hours, my head still feels all foggy and I get dizzy when I stand up for long periods of time. I hope I return to normal soon, and I would not recommend this medication to anyone!!"

For Anxiety "I ate some edibles that apparently had 300 mg of THC (yeah, terrible). I had a bad trip from it and suffered from an anxiety attack. The rest of that week, I was sleep-deprived and had tremors, also, my head was hurting, but it felt like it was in my brain. I went to the ER, and they gave me the headache cocktail with Topamax and Benadryl. That entire day was bad, I wanted to scratch through a wall and scratch off my face. I couldn't sit still without feeling all kinds of weird nerves throughout my body. It has been 3 days, and I feel like myself somewhat now. However, I have this weird tingling sensation in my brain whenever I fall asleep or wake up. 1/10 would not recommend. And yes, I also suffered anxiety. I couldn't drive for the first 3 days without being scared, nor could I sleep alone or even be alone."

For Anxiety "I had a severe headache from a post-spinal tap. I had to go to the ER. The nurse brought me in meds through IV and said she was giving me a 'headache cocktail.' Next thing I knew, she walked out of the room, and I immediately went flying over the cuckoo's nest. I started hitting the call light over and over, and the nurse just said it's okay, it's the medicine. I ripped out my IV and started screaming for help. I thought I was going to die. She came in our back in an IV, they gave me not one, not two, but THREE doses of Ativan. I had to call my mom to get me from there. I just wanted to go home and sleep. My mom took me to her house and made me sleep there. It took a long time for me to fall asleep. When I finally slept, it was for about 14 hours. I woke up still feeling off, but my headache was back, and I refused to go back to take that med again. I tried to eat, bathe, everything, nothing worked. It took about 24 hours to fully wear out of my system. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

For Nausea/Vomiting "This is not the first time this happened to me, this is just the first time I found out what the drug was called. In the last 10 years, I have been to the ER for a severe headache and was given something in my IV. Every single time, within seconds, I felt panicked. I have explained this to the ER personnel each time, but they gave it to me anyway. This time was the worst! I wanted to pull my skin off, scream, leave everything. I couldn't stay still, and my boyfriend watched in horror as I sobbed. He tried to rub my back as comfort, and I yelled at him to please stop touching me and talking (I felt so bad). I truly think I must be allergic to this medicine. When I begged her to reverse it, she said she couldn't but some more Benadryl, which may dull the effects. It didn't work. Now I am scared to death of any medications. It has been 3 months, and even now, when I think about it, I get panicked. So traumatizing."

For Anxiety "I went to the doctor's May 23rd, 2022. I was seen at the ER at the hospital. I went for head pressure, and I told them I haven’t been feeling like myself lately. So they took me back and gave me this, and they told me they were giving me a little Benadryl to take the pressure away from my head. But the whole time they gave me Benadryl and Compazine without me knowing. So 10 minutes later, the meds started kicking in really fast. I got really hot and started panicking, ready to jump out of the bed and run away. The nurse came in laughing, asking me if I felt like my skin was leaving my body. I told her yes and started crying. She was like, 'You're fine,' and put a cold napkin around my neck. I still was panicking, ready to pull my hair out. Hours later, when it was time for me to leave, I told them I felt like I was going to open the car door on the way home. So they kept me a little longer and gave me another IV to help drain the meds out of me. I still was shaky and anxious, and I couldn’t stop moving. I felt like I was losing my mind."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Compazine in the ER. I had a headache, but I was more concerned about the eye pain and facial spasms. The nurse came in and administered the 'migraine cocktail' all at once. It hit me HARD. My body was on fire, and I couldn't stop moving. I asked if it was normal for it to hit people so fast, he said yes. He made it seem like I was overreacting, though. As soon as he walked out of the room, I started seeing flashing stars. It felt as if I was jumping off the bed/convulsing. I kept telling myself to just go to sleep but couldn't. I started crying as silently as I could because I was scared and embarrassed. I eventually fell asleep for a half hour. Woke up to them talking to me. I was still shaking and mentally out of it. Discharge felt like an eternity. I went home and slept forever. The day lingered, and I experienced a worse headache, muscle spasms, locked wrist, and an auditory hallucination. It is day three, and I still feel weird. I wish they could have warned me of side effects."

For Anxiety "These experiences listed for this drug are not exaggerated. Had some numbness and headache issues that caused me to visit the ER. Was given a Benadryl, Toradol, and Compazine cocktail for the headaches. After the Toradol wore off, I had the most horrid anxiety. My body would not let me calm down, and my mind wanted to calm down. It was a constant struggle for more than a day to get back to normal. I wanted to rip the IV out and run out of the hospital while I was waiting to get an MRI. It was hands down the worst experience of my life."

For Anxiety "I’m 7 months pregnant. I went to the ER for severe diarrhea. They initially gave me an IV so I wouldn’t be dehydrated. After being in the ER for a while, I had a headache, so they gave me Benadryl and Compazine. I immediately started to feel like I couldn’t breathe, so I called the nurse. I felt horrible. I was trying to get out of the bed. I kept screaming, 'I can’t breathe.' The other nurses came in and gave me Ativan. It took about 30 minutes to work. My fiancé came and picked me up. I had to leave my car at the hospital. I went home and couldn’t rest. It still felt like I was high on the meds. I’ll never take it again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Literally had the same symptoms as everyone on here is explaining. Two days after and still feeling the effects. I literally feel like I'm dying, and my headache is still there."
