For Bowel Preparation "I have no idea where some folk get their MoviPrep from, but I'm in the UK and got it free through the NHS to use in preparation for an endoscopy to check my bowels. First off, the taste was fine - just like a powdered lemon juice - absolutely no problems drinking it - in fact, I enjoyed watching TV whilst sipping it! It took about 1.5 hours before I had my first toilet visit, but at no time was I concerned that I might lose control. My stools became watery after the second visit and continued that way for about 10 or more visits. To my surprise, I went to bed about 2 hours after my last drink, I didn't have to get up in the night. In the morning, slight watery movement and then went to the hospital. The surgeon said that my bowel was clear."

For Bowel Preparation "I had a colonoscopy yesterday and was so afraid. I was very anxious over taking MoviPrep as I had read all the horror stories. It was nowhere near as bad as expected. Sure, the taste is vile, but I used a straw, drank it chilled, and paced myself and followed each mouthful with apple juice. The bowel prep was effective, and despite horror stories, I found that the loose stools were urgent and frequent but not uncontrollable. I stayed near the bathroom and read a lot or watched TV. Colonoscopy and prep, although not pleasant, not quite the ordeal I expected."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm having to use MoviPrep for the 1st time today, in readiness for the endoscopic examination of my complete digestive system, in the hope of getting a diagnosis of why I became badly iron deficient. I followed the instructions as were given to me by the hospital. 1st dose at 17:00 hrs, and the 2nd at 20:00. Things have started to work, going straight to the watery stool stage as warned. The taste isn't too unpleasant, just a bit salty, I didn't find the need to chill it as some suggest."

For Constipation, Chronic "I have my colonoscopy tomorrow - started my prep at 7, got all the medicine down like instructed. Literally, 10 minutes after the first liter, I was on the toilet. To be honest, haven't really left yet. Just about to start the 2nd liter and wondering how I will do it. I don't see myself honestly getting it all down - but I do know once I start to run 'clear' I am quitting. I'm going from diarrhea to severe constipation. I can't seem to get my bowels on track and haven't for 2 months now. Only 35, so hoping it's just diet-related. Good luck to anyone in my shoes."

For Bowel Preparation "I downed my first liter of MoviPrep nearly two hours ago. As most folk on here say, it tastes vile and has left me feeling nauseous. Within 10 mins of finishing the first liter, I experienced explosive diarrhea, which carried on for another hour, by which time I was just pooing water. So I suppose it has worked, but I'm now dreading the next liter, as the bloating is very painful. I hope the prep works okay for my colonoscopy, which I'm having late tomorrow morning."

For Bowel Preparation "Started drinking this MoviPrep at 11 PM. It's the most disgusting thing I have drank. Every time I took a sip, I felt like throwing up, but had no choice taking it, so took it in big gulps. Finished the first liter within 1.5 hours. After 45 minutes, all hell broke loose. Went to the toilet about 10 times. It was all watery. It's worked absolutely fine, but tastes awful. I wish I didn't have to take the second liter."

For Bowel Preparation "My times to take MoviPrep were 6 PM and 4 AM. I, like many others, premixed and chilled before use. I also used a straw to help get past taste buds. Took as directed, 1/4 every 15 minutes. 6 PM drink went well. Approx. 10 min after finishing, I had to go to the bathroom, and soon it came to a point I could not leave the restroom for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. I went to bed - should have put on a Depends. Lol. Lol. Up several times during the night. Had to wake up at 4 AM for the next dose. Watery diarrhea started early, even before taking MoviPrep. Still sitting on the toilet, and it's been 2 and 1/2 hours. Think I'll have a red target ring from sitting so long. Lol. Lol. Hoping to stop soon to get up and get ready for a fun-filled day at the doctor's. This stuff works. Worst part is having to stay on the toilet for me."

For Bowel Preparation "I have to thank those who recommended chilling the preparation before drinking - much easier to get down. My experience was straightforward. It took about 1.5 hours after finishing the first preparation before I passed loose stools. Started drinking it at 6 PM, having taken two senna at 4 PM. My doctor said I would get a good night's sleep... he was wrong! Got up every 1.5 hours, and as the effect was wearing off, I started the second preparation at 7 AM. This acted much faster, and I started passing what by then was liquid during the 1.5 hours it took to drink it. Not an unpleasant feeling, not much griping. Stopped going about 10:30 AM. Some mild griping going on just before the procedure, which they said was normal."

For Bowel Preparation "Not as bad to take as they say. Not delicious, but tolerable. Didn't do anything for 2 hours after starting, then normal motion. Watery diarrhea started 3 hours in, failed to properly clear the bowel, and - 4 days later - is still going on! Embarrassing, smelly - now need incontinence pads. When will it stop? Very upset."

For Bowel Preparation "This stuff is great! It wasn't so much the taste that was bad, more the salty consistency! I drank mine with a straw over 7 hours, and that seemed to do the trick! I started pooping after exactly an hour and didn't stop until 11 PM (I started at 2 PM). I was nice and cleared out, and they said I had a 'good colonoscopy.' The only problem I have now is that it's the next day, and food is going straight through me still, mixed with bright yellow bile, and it's so painful! This stuff has more or less left me incontinent the day after! Just hoping the diarrhea stops soon because 2 days of pooping out pure watery movements is more than enough for me!"

For Bowel Preparation "It has taken me 4 hours to drink one liter. I felt so nauseous drinking it and thought I’d throw up. Been having diarrhea throughout. Drank sips of water in between. Dreading repeating this in the morning. Surely they could create a tablet to do the same job? I don’t mind the toilet bit. The drink is vile. I cannot give a high score because, whilst it does its job, it is definitely very hard, at least for me, to tolerate while drinking due to nausea."

For Bowel Preparation "Horrible! The first 8 oz, okay, 2nd, okay. Got to the last 8 oz of the first liter, and I want to vomit! I am not one to throw up, but I am begging myself to keep it down. I am chilled. It's okay. Started at 5:45 and already watery stools at 7:26. I cannot fathom having to drink the next liter. Why can't I just take pills??? Tried hard candy-no, tried chilled-no, straw not helping! Look, I would rather be on a liquid diet for 3 days!"

For Bowel Preparation "Had my 1st liter of MoviPrep. Started it at 17:20 - finished the last drop at 19:20. I've been on the toilet since 1900 hrs, 1st quite lumpy poo, then diarrhea, and presently water boots of diarrhea, yuk. I found the composition slimy, the smell and taste foul.... However, I've had sips of water after each gulp of MoviPrep, which helped a little. That's the 1st solution finished. 2nd in the morning. I have set my alarm for 5:00 am as I now realize it will take me 2 hours to drink it, and then I'm allowing at least 3 hours before I get a taxi to the hospital for CT colonoscopy.... I possibly shouldn't say this on here, but hey ho, I'm going to in case it helps anyone else: I smoke cigarettes, hence, after 2 glasses of MoviPrep, I decided I'd smoke with the 2nd 2 glasses, and hey presto, it sure helped to take the taste away. I thought this information might be of help to any fellow smokers. I will see how tonight goes and give an update in the morning.... Wishing all well XX"

For Constipation, Chronic "Have had 2 1L solutions of MoviPrep in 12 hours. I've had constipation with overflow diarrhea but no real bowel movement for 2.5 weeks despite many laxatives, suppositories, drugs, and enemas. MoviPrep is the worst-tasting laxative of them all, and I've tried several recently. It tastes so bad even when I plug my nose I can feel it on my tongue and in my face. I managed them down fairly quickly but have had no luck."

For Bowel Preparation "Prepping for a colonoscopy... Mixed powders with 1/4 of water recommended so as to dissolve, refrigerated, then added orange Gatorade. Used hard peppermint candy after each quarter-hour dose. First movement was within an hour of the end of the first dose. Began at 4 PM, with the 2nd doses beginning at 9:30 PM. Effective colon cleansing, but side effects were terrible. Massive migraine even though I took a preventative triptan, insomnia, diarrhea several times during the night and the next morning, and nausea. I will never use this product again!"

For Bowel Preparation "I had to cancel the scheduled colonoscopy because I could not leave the toilet. It’s nearly 24 hours since I started the first dose, and the diarrhea is still going strong."

For Bowel Preparation "Took my first dose of MoviPrep at 6 am in preparation for my colonoscopy. Difficult guzzling my liter of prep that early. Drank it down over the next hour while dozing. Awoke at 10 am to prepare for the second liter dose. Still nothing. All of a sudden, there came a gripping tummy pain. Dashed to the bathroom and had a brown jetwash. Done. Thirty minutes later, another gripping pain. Dashed to the bathroom and had a yellow jetwash. Done. Thirty minutes later, another gripping pain. Dashed to the bathroom and had a clear jetwash. Done. Ordeal over. No major issues. I'm more evacuated than a London kid during WW2."
