For Pain "I suffer extremely with a genetic disorder called Familial Hemiplegic Migraines. So severe that I truly no longer have a life. I'm confined to my bed at least 5 days out of 7, throwing up and extreme pain that even my nails and hair hurt. I've suffered a severe heart attack due to my migraines in 2007 (high blood pressure). With these migraines, I suffer through strokes only on the left side of my body! Having my pain medication allows me to live somewhat of a normal life. I can play with my 11 grandchildren again, finally!! But now those of us that are actually in real pain (and not drug addicts or drug dealers) are being treated like we are, in fact, drug dealers and addicts and are now being refused our pain medication. I wish those that created these rules could live in our pain just for one day."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Been taking Opana for 15 months now and couldn't be happier. Diagnosed with DDD in my L-4, L-5, S-1, scoliosis, and fibromyalgia 3 years ago. My PM doctor put me on MS Contin 60 mg 2x a day, which I had an allergic reaction to... My feet and legs swelled up. He then put me on a fentanyl patch 75 mcg, which my body did not tolerate, I ended up getting pains down my neck and severe nausea. A guy ran a red light and T-boned my side of the car. In the hospital, they gave me dilaudid for pain, which completely took my pain away. My doctor decided at that point to put me on EXALGO 12.5 mg 1x a day. Worked better than anything! Insurance stopped covering it, GAHH. Put me on Opana ER 20 2x a day and IR 3x a day. Amazing! No side effects!!!"

Oxymorphone for Pain "I just started this medication a few days ago, and I am on 10 mg twice per day. I would have to say it works very well on my neck and back pain and my nauseating migraines, which all result from a car accident, and I'm only 23 years old. I luckily have a very nice, understanding doctor and know what I'm going through, and he has never turned me down when I've needed an increase or change in meds."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I take Opana ER for spinal pain, post-surgical pain, and other pain from a car wreck. Before this medicine was introduced, I went from being on every painkiller: Vic’s, Percs, Norco, Avinza (which brought out rage in me). Then a doctor who was also a friend who cared about me recommended I try Opana, of course starting at a relatively small dose and went up, and since I found the right dose, it’s been a godsend. My pain is controlled all day for almost 10 hours. Other than dry mouth and peeing a lot, it’s a great med. You may get dizzy or nauseous, but usually, that only happens if you don’t eat after you take it. Pain-free is a great thing."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I was taking the 60 mg OPs for a little over a year, I was on the regular oxycodone before the change. They were making me extremely nauseous, at times violent vomiting and dry heaving. It started with the nausea immediately, and then it seemed like every 3 months I would have a bout of nausea, vomiting, and dry heaving that would last for days. I was in the hospital 4 times this past year. I am taking Opana now. I have been on it almost a month, and guess what? No more of the daily nausea and worse again. Doing well on Opana. Wish I could have gotten it sooner. My insurance would not pay for it at first, but now they do! Good luck, everyone."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Too strong for me. If taking Opana 30s for the first time, I suggest starting off with smaller doses then increasing gradually. Took one the other night, nausea set in and I vomited. Great loss of appetite, like on Adderall, minor drowsiness."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I switched to Opana ER this year, as the Morphine ER I had been forced to take since last summer made me very nauseated (even with nausea meds), caused terrible headaches, and didn't cover my pain adequately so I could live some sort of life. I have loved the Opana ER. I take 40 mg twice a day, and after the first month in which the switchover was difficult, there have only been a few occasions where, after I took the drug, I started going through withdrawal. I'm not sure what was wrong with the pills, as I set an alarm to take them and confirmed I took them. Now I am in the donut hole. Endo Pharm won't help because there is a generic which costs more than the Opana. Don't know what to do."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I had a failed surgery nine years ago on my back at L4-5 and have taken a lot of medicines to get through the day. My doctor has had me on Opana ER 20 mg only for about a year now, or close to it. As far as the pain, it works well with little breakthrough. But the side effects for me just get worse: nausea, sweats, cold, hot, very uneasy feeling. At first, they were mild but seem to be getting worse with time. I feel so sick at times it's getting to be as bad as the pain level was and just makes me as mean. My doctor has talked me out of stopping once, but I just made an appointment this morning and I'm getting off Opana. This stuff is very strong and works well, just a lot of side effects."

For Pain "Worked well for a week, then side effects started. Tightness in chest, depression, suicidal, light-sensitive, dizzy, nausea, had to stop taking it altogether. Took one every 12 hours per instruction. Helped a lot at first, then the side effects were unbearable."
