Oxymorphone for Pain "Changed my life! I was on Norco for 10+ years, and it stopped working. I started the generic Opana, and it makes my pain tolerable. I'm not sure, but I am retaining a lot of fluid. This is the only thing I am concerned about."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I had 3 back operations, and on the second one, I had two implants put in my L5 disc. The second and third operations were about 2 1/2 years ago. Since then, I was taking one 30 mg OxyContin 3 times per day and two 10 mg Percocet 3 times per day. Then the OxyContin got reformulated and not only quit helping with the pain but also made me sick. So, after talking with my pain management doctor, he suggested and prescribed 40 mg Opana twice a day along with my Percocet. This medicine worked so much better than the OxyContin. The pain is gone."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have injured my back several times over the course of about 12 years. I have tried everything under the sun. I am currently on the 5 mg ER 2 x daily and the 10 mg IR 3-4 x a day for breakthrough pain. Like many people have said, you have to take it on an empty stomach. This medicine works better than any other. As long as you take 2 x ER and 3-4 IRs for breakthrough per day, you will have the best results. I am due for my ERs to get increased, but other than that, this is the best pain management I have ever had."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I am fused from C3 to C7 and from L1 to S1. I have nerve damage because of a botched operation. I have taken this medicine for 3 years. It is the only drug I have been able to take for this length of time and not have to titrate it up. I would take it forever, but my insurance company has decided that I only need two tablets a day. I currently take 2 x 40 mg ER tabs 3 times a day. This was a great medicine for me, and anyone on long-term use should at least try it."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have severe leg and back pain. I have had back and leg pain for quite a few years. In 2008, I fell 25 ft out of a deer stand, which tore both rotator cuffs and caused elbow problems. After 9 operations and physical therapy, I still have pain, which includes back and leg problems. I started on Opana ER and take morphine sulfate for breakthrough. Opana has been a wonderful help, which has helped me be able to function through the day with some normality, which at one point I couldn't do. And now I hear it's going to be pulled off shelves and done away with. Very disturbing."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have been on Opana IR for 4 months now. I have severe migraines due to a cyst on my brain, along with 2 bulging discs in my neck. It works okay, but I also have Stadol nasal spray if the Opana doesn't help. I'm on 5 mg 2x a day. I honestly need stronger, but since it's migraines, he won't increase it. I would recommend it for small pain."

Oxymorphone for Pain "This Opana is an excellent medication! I was taken off of oxycodone 60 mg and am now on Opana ER 30 mg. They work so much better than the oxycodone for my pain, and the euphoric side effects aren't too bad to boot either. I would say that a 20 mg Opana is equivalent to a 40 mg oxy. The thirties are equivalent to about a 60 plus. A very good medicine for pain!"

Oxymorphone for Pain "I started out with 10 mg, but the side effects were too much! My doc then put me on 5 mg, which did nothing at all, then bumped me to 7.5. I am starting back on the 10 mg this week because 7.5 mg is alright but not really working as well as the 10 mg did. Now, although the side effects were horrible, the pain relief was great! I am having insurance issues, so unfortunately for the next couple of days, until I can go pick it up, I have to use just my Oxycodone 2x daily as needed for breakthrough pain, and my muscle relaxant. I realized just in one day how much the 7.5 worked more than I realized when my shoulder and neck started throbbing. It is obvious that although it was not as good as the 10's were for pain relief, it worked more than I realized!"

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have been on Opana ER 15 mg for 3 years now. Was diagnosed with a herniated disc with an annular fissure at L3, 4, and 5. Also have degenerative disc disorder, spinal stenosis, plus more back problems and diagnosed with fibromyalgia. All I can say is the Opana ER crush-resistant are junk. I was prescribed Oxymorphone Hydrochloride ER 15 mg, a green pill. The pill form was a miracle for me, I could get up and go to work 12-16 hours, and they last with hardly taking a Percocet for breakthrough pain. Had my life back with the generic. The name brand Opana ER is junk. I always have an empty stomach when I take it, and not even an hour later my stomach is upset and I always have diarrhea."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I started Opana about 5 months ago. The withdrawals make you feel like you have the stomach bug and flu at the same time. Night sweats, every bone feels broken, stomach cramping, strange negative thoughts that aren't real. This medication didn't help at all with my disc herniation, gout, broken foot, sore tooth. First night, I wondered if I would make it through the night. I was on 40 mg twice a day, 12-hour ER. I wouldn't suggest this medication to anyone. It's hard to require medication assistance just to move, but it's even worse being on a medication that didn't help and caused the worst withdrawals of my life. It took 9 days to feel better! Good luck."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I fell over a year ago and have had chronic back pain ever since. I have bulging discs in L3, 4, and 5, degenerating discs, and spinal stenosis. I have tried Norco, which no longer works. I recently tried Nucynta (no pain relief and very tired side effects), so I am sticking with the Opana. Overall, it does a pretty good job with pain. I just feel like my tolerance is building up over the 9 or so months I have been taking it. I take 20 ER first thing in the morning, and 10 mg IR one or two more times during the day. I still take Norco for breakthrough pain, but even that doesn't seem to touch the pain anymore... I recommend Opana for pain relief, and I can still work with a clear head!"

Oxymorphone for Pain "This medicine has been very effective, however, it doesn't last the full 12 hours of pain relief as it is prescribed. For me, it lasts about 8 hours. I did get horrible constipation, so stay hydrated. Never flush unused drugs down the toilet. It can severely affect fish and other animals along the watershed. Water treatment plants do not treat for disposed drugs."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Works much better than the oxy's for my arthritis. I don't get such wicked side effects, either. The Opana winds me up, but not nearly as much as the Oxycontins. Also, the hot flashes are nowhere close to what they were."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have Behcet's, Castleman's, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, degenerative disc disease. All equals severe pain. I tried everything. I now take Opana 30 ER 4 times a day and Norco 10/325 8 times a day for breakthrough pain. Before the Opana, I wanted to die to get away from the pain. I couldn't play with my 4 kids. All they heard was, 'Not right now, Mommy hurts.' Now I have my pain under control, and I can live my life and play with my kids."

Oxymorphone for Pain "My bottom spinal disks are crooked and rest on my nerves between them. I was on 60 mg of Morphine Sulfate ER and took it for years and asked my doctor for an increase, and he switched me to Opana 20 mg ER pills, and they helped my back pain and seem to last a little longer between dosages. I am prescribed it twice a day. I seem to have less tiredness than the morphine, and I am prescribed 5 mg of oxycodone for morning breakthrough pain. Due to my liver condition, he won't increase the oxycodone because it makes the liver turn it into morphine to filter it. When I need an increase of the Opana, I'm sure he'll give me that because it's a form of morphine, and my liver can process it okay. So I hope this helps other people with my condition or similar."

For Pain "In addition to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, I suffer from constant pain in my hip, femur, and knee, L-4,5 disk herniations, spinal stenosis, and spondylosis to start. I was thrown from a car as a passenger without seatbelts, fracturing my hip, femur, and my right foot pointed south. My experience taking oxymorphone is an excellent one. I recommend it to anyone seriously looking for pain relief. I take 30 mg oxymorphone ER x 2, ketamine HCl (compounded for $125 a month) 10 mg x 3, and oxycodone 30 mg x 4 for BT pain. Oxymorphone is the best ER opioid for 9-10 hour relief I have taken. Tried them all. If looking for pain relief, oxymorphone is the best by a mile, hydromorphone is a distant second."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I was on 200 mcg of Fentanyl patches, and 100 mg of MS Contin 3 times a day and 30 mg of MSIR (instant-release morphine) 3 times a day for almost 7 years for these horrible migraines I have constantly. These medicines were not helping anymore after being on them for so long. About 6 months ago, I changed doctors who switched me to Opana ER. I am taking 80 mg every 12 hours along with 600 mcg Fentora 3 times a day for breakthrough pain. I have not had any side effects from the Opana at all, which is wonderful, and I can function daily and not be laid up in bed constantly. I would definitely recommend Opana ER, but just think about something for breakthrough pain in case it is needed."

For Pain "If I may start out saying that oxymorphone (Opana ER) is AMAZING! I have two bulged discs in the lumbar region of my back. Had a disc in the sacrum region of my back replaced 2 yrs ago. I have disc degeneration disease. I have a synovial cyst on my spine. And I also have arthritis in my hips, knees, and feet. I am only 37 yrs old. Many doctors have said I was too young to be in this bad a shape! I am due for spinal fusion in my lower lumbar region in a month. All this pain, which I might add, is unbearable at times. I can't sit or stand for more than 10 minutes at a time. Sleep is limited. Maybe 4 to 6 hrs. I could not function if it weren't for oxymorphone! It is a wonder medicine. I thank God and my pain management doc for it every day! I take 30 mg 2 daily. Oxycodone 10 5x."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I've been on oxymorphone for 10 years. My Dr. just put me on Opana 40 mg instead. It's been 3 days and I'm going through withdrawals. I have gastropathy, which slows down your digestive system. Seems my pain Dr. doesn't care. I had the test a couple of years ago that checks to see if you're on the right medications. It showed that the oxymorphone and Roxicodone were being processed and were the right medications for me. A couple of months ago, they wanted to put me on a morphine patch. And I said no. I think that he is being paid to write Opana scripts all of a sudden, which to me is BS! I hate the gel Opana, it doesn't digest properly. My insurance prefers generic because it's cheaper. I prefer it because it took care of my pain, whereas Opana doesn't."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I suffer from neck and back issues with my spine, and I have tried many different pain medications and procedures, but the one where I got the most relief is Opana. Sometimes the pain is so bad that Opana or my breakthrough medication do not control it. Maybe 6 to 10 times a week."

For Pain "I was in a motorcycle wreck when I was younger. I almost lost my leg. Was in the hospital 4 months. I couldn't walk for 2 years. Found a new doctor. He operated on it and it healed, but I started having problems. My leg was 2 inches shorter than the other. I had broken my leg in 3 places. Messed up the nerves and all my toes got broken. As each year went by, my foot started turning into a club foot. After 17 operations, I was told I needed an ankle replacement, but my doctor told me the operation doesn't last, and the downtime is long. I have chronic pain and I get migraines. Over the years, I have been on many different pain meds. Oxymorphone ER has given me more relief than any other. Endo pulling Opana ER, but Global has Oxymorphone ER."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Been on fentanyl patches for 3+ years now. Wear 2 50 mcg patches. Recently started on Opana ER 20 mg twice a day and only wearing 1 patch changed every 48 hours. Pain level has gone up slightly, but also side effects from the patch have decreased, which to me for now is an acceptable trade-off. Breakthrough pain occurs sooner, but have not tried the higher dosage yet. Have somewhat raised expectations to come off patches by the end of the year."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I normally take generic Opana (oxymorphone) 30 mg, and it works great for my pain. I can function well, such as going to the store, doing light yard work, and enjoying family. But I recently got the brand name Opana (Endo), and it is awful. I'm in so much pain and experiencing withdrawal symptoms. It's been 18 days, and it is still like taking a placebo. My breakthrough oxycodone 30 mg is the only thing keeping me out of the hospital. I've been in bed 90% of the time since taking this Endo brand. I think it's the amount of additive in the medication."

Oxymorphone for Pain "Too strong for me. If taking Opana 30s for the first time, I suggest starting off with smaller doses then increasing gradually. Took one the other night, nausea set in and I vomited. Great loss of appetite, like on Adderall, minor drowsiness."

Oxymorphone for Pain "I have trigeminal neuralgia, which is the 'most painful condition known to man,' and Opana ER is the first medication that has ever actually helped with this type of pain. It has worked better for me than any other pain medicine, and it lasts FAR longer than any other extended-release medications I've tried. Because this works better for me, I am able to take a lower dose than other medicines, which means I can function at a much higher rate. Many patients with this condition do not take narcotic pain medication because trigeminal neuralgia does not usually respond well to them. However, for me, this is the first and only medicine that has actually helped with my level of pain, and it has allowed me to have a much higher quality of life!"
