Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "The first day I used rhofade it seemed to be a miracle worker, the second day I noticed little bumps appearing on my skin. The third day my cheeks became extremely itchy and I felt like my face was on fire! My face looks like it is completely sunburned. I went to the doctor with a mild case of rosacea and now my face looks 100x worse."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I am having the same issues that others had reported. I have mild redness from rosacea. When I first put on the Rhofade, my face gets much redder initially, but then fades. I have noticed I have pimples now. I think I’ll stop using Rhofade to see if the pimples go away. I didn’t really think of these being caused by the Rhofade until I read that others were seeing pimples after using it."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I asked my derm for the prescription for rhofade, I used it for a few days and saw great results with redness but after a few days, I developed several large pustules. I stopped using it and things cleared up. I thought it could be a coincidence so I started using it again a few months later. Well, same thing. Not a coincidence. I have two huge pustules on my nose. That's it. Done. I'm glad I went online for the coupon to pay no more than $50 for the tube. $49.78 wasted but better than hundreds of dollars."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "My experience was much like everyone else. Paid $50 and has actually made my skin more red with lots more spots coming out. Shouldn’t have used it and going back to my dermatologist to try IPL as none of the creams have worked for me and all seem like a waste of money. At first it seemed like it was getting less red and then my face felt like it was warming up and got twice as red, then this morning all of the spots came out. Hopefully it will calm back down, who knows?"

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "My dermatologist prescribed Rhofade for me. After reading the reviews, I was afraid to try it but so far, it has worked well for me. If I get extremely hot, my face still turns red. I have had no breakouts so far. After the coupon I got expires, I will no longer be able to afford it though."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "Please don't use this if you just have redness. I asked my derm if there is anything for just redness.. he prescribed me rhofade.. I used it once a day for 3 days and now I have one spot on my cheek that's more red then before. After I stopped taking it the day after my face felt like it was on fire, to the point I wanted to put a cold rag over my face. The burning has stopped, but I'm left with this one spot on my face that's more red then ever before. What do I do now? Will it fade away back to what it was ? This is so annoying"

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I normally don't write reviews - and never before for a drug, but my skin is so red and inflamed, I felt I had to. The first week of using Rhofade was fine. I didn't see a big difference, but continued to use, thinking it may come in time. I have mild Rosacea on my lower cheeks (only). I felt that my cheeks were more red in the mornings (prior to putting on the cream). I ended up putting the cream on my apples of my cheeks - as the redness had spread. Days went by, and the redness became more apparent. Yesterday, I was covering my cheeks and had a tiny amount of product leftover on my fingertip. I spread a small circle on my forehead (no redness at all - completely pale white). It wasn't until mid-afternoon that I used the restroom and looked at my face. A small bright red circle was on my forehead. I was so embarrassed. This stuff is making me red. It making my cheeks tingly. I'm so frustrated I am out the $50 and left with a worse face."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "Awful product, do not use!!! Much like others here, after only a few days using Rhofade my rosacea has gotten much, much worse! I now have pimples I’ve never had before, like a teenager with a face full of acne. Every spot that garbage touched is a red little bump. This product is an absolute waste of money, do not let your dermatologist prescribe it!"

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "Horrible reaction to this medication after 2-3 applications. Rosacea is super inflamed and looking worse than ever. I have stopped use and I am hoping my azelaic acid will help calm it down in a couple days."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I have previously managed my mild rosacea with metronidazole cream and Finacea cream (the latter with better results). My dermatologist prescribed Rhofade as lately I've been flushing more often. I did note immediate improvement in facial flushing, and I feel a slight tightening sensation to my skin when I would normally except my face to flush (e.g. moving from cold to hot), but my face doesn't go red. However, a week after using Rhofade, I've broken out in pimples across my face, and my skin is also sore so I will have to stop using Rhofade."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I used Rhofade for my rosacea for 5 days. It seemed to be helping but my face started hurting like I was bruised all over. I started getting painful burning and swelling all over my face starting day 6. I haven't used it today being day 7 but my face is still bright red and swollen with bumps all over. I've never seen this much constant swelling and redness in my 10 years of menopause. This really hurts and I'm on vacation so don't know what to do. Even my eyes are burning."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I am a male in my 30s. I developed a very aggressive form of rosacea in January of 2020. I was prescribed Rhofade and initially, it gave me bad rebounds and after reading the reviews here I stopped taking it. I saw a new doctor who put me on a regimen of Doxycycline, Ivermectin and Elidel. After my skin had calmed down, I began Rhofade again and it has become something that I couldn't live without. I apply it daily about two or three hours before I go out so it can soak into my skin (it can be greasy after you first apply) and it controls my redness fantastically. I no longer experience any notable rebound effect. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it seems that it takes your skin some time to get used to it before you can see results. I do believe as well that it begins to reduce overall redness over time. Full disclosure as well, I also had about four laser procedures this year so that may have played a part my improvement."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I saw an ad for Rhofade and asked my derm for a sample. Contains oxymetazoline, which used to be the vasoconstrictor ingredient in Visine eye drops, so it made sense to me. Didn't see much effect for a couple of weeks; then, all of a sudden all redness broke loose! My face turned bright red, was covered with pustules, and itched like mad. It took weeks of coating my face with hydrocortisone to resolve."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "Do not use this product!!! My rosacea was doing well with laser treatment, but I was given this product to use as an adjunct. My entire face broke out in a random rash as well as hives. I tried it again after 2 months and the same thing happened. I don't know why doctors dispense this medication. I do have sensitive skin, but never expected anything like this to happen. I'm cleansing with hypo-allergenic soap/cream and gentle astringent-hoping for the best. Even 2.5 percent hydrocortisone couldn't stop the intense itching. I mean, this is our faces we're talking about here."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I'm not even sure why the doctor prescribed this for me as I have very mild rosacea and very little redness. The first time I used it, my skin tone evened out and looked great. A few weeks after, I used it again before going out and I got a spot. I used it the next night and had four more spots that got worse before better. It took three days before the spots went away. I usually only get spots when I'm in the sun and wasn't in the sun, so is it a coincidence that I got spots after using the product? $75 down the drain."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I have been using rhodode for the past 2 months. I am very happy with the results. My redness is about 50-75% less. This means that I am not using foundation on weekends and days I don't go to work. My face has some redness but it looks healthy. In addition to the flush improvement, my face is not as dry and scale as it was before using it. Unlike a lot of reviewers here, I have not had pimples or any other reaction. My derm told me rhofade is 50/50. Some love the results and some don't. I guess I go lucky."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I have used rhofade off and on for a couple of years. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it seems to make the redness worse. If I apply it when I'm just beginning to feel the redness or flush come on, then it seems to work the best. I bought it with coupons the first time. This year my insurance will pay for it but just for four tubes for the one year. I'm not sure what I will do after that. Stress definitely brings these rosacea attacks on and so I have been using meditation techniques which do help. I had mild rosacea most of my life but it really kicked in after I was hospitalized with a serious gastrointestinal bacterial infection several years ago. My rosacea is not only red but my face, especially my cheeks, feel sore and very hot when I'm having a bad attack. Sometimes it is just one cheek. During the night it will often clear up on its own. I've had periods of time like a couple of months where I never even think about it. It really is a strange affliction"

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I was prescribed Rhofade for the flushing caused by my Rosacea. Previously, I had smooth skin with no bumps, just redness. However, after using this medication for three days, my face feels like it's on fire. It has turned blood red, itches intensely, and I now have little bumps on both cheeks. This medication is absolutely horrible. I do not believe the extremely low percentage they claim for allergic reactions. Based on what I've read, the actual percentage must be much higher than what is disclosed to the public. I had high hopes that Rhofade would eliminate the rosy cheeks I had, but instead, I now look like my face has been burned. I strongly advise against using this medication; you will regret it."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. I used it for a month religiously then all of a sudden my skin broke out. It was even worse than before. I’m worried it won’t get better. It seems like this happen to a lot of people. How long did it take to heal?"

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "Don't ever use it. I was a little red and within 3 days of use, it's 100 times worse. My face dried out and is 10 times redder than it was before I started taking this. Maybe if I tried once and waited a week. But the directions say to use it each day. Never again."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I realized there’s not a lot of positive reviews on this drug. As someone who researches their Rx prior to use I can be torn whether to go for it or to not risk it. I am so glad I decided to use it. I have flushing on one of my cheeks and this has stopped all flushing. Of course I can still get warm if I’m outside in hot humid weather but it’s minimal and goes away quick. I will say it did little to nothing for my redness. I am hopeful the redness and the swelling dissipates but I am happy with little to no flushing. I use to sleep with a fan directly on me, stayed indoors in the summer and avoided social events. I am so thankful for Rhofade! If you’re reluctant give it a go and choose a small area to test. I didn’t give it an 8 since the redness still remains unchanged."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "I used Rhofade for more than a month (2-3 times a week). When I first used it, it definitely helped reduced the redness on my left cheek. After a few weeks, I noticed I would wake up in the morning and my face would look sunburned and it felt like it was on fire. My face also became very dry and started to peel. I never thought Rhofade would cause my very mild rosacea to get worse until I started to read reviews on this site. Once I realized, I stopped using Rhofade for a week now, and the redness has been getting better. I'm hoping after another week, my skin will get back to the way it was before I started using this product."

Rhofade (oxymetazoline) for Rosacea "Be EXTREMELY careful with this medicine. I had minor redness of the face after taking accutane for 6 months. My doctor gave me Rhofade all nonchalantly. I began to use it once a day everyday for a few months. Well slowly I realized it was actually making my face more red. When I would not put it on, my face would be bright red, making me look ten times worse. I have completely stopped taking it now for about a month and my face is still very red. My doctor prescribed me doxycycline to help get rid of the redness but it is not working good. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would rather take a pill instead of a topical at this point. I tried propranolol but it made me dizzy and light headed. Please, anything would help I am desperate!"
