Oxytrol (oxybutynin) for Urinary Frequency "Great product. I have been on other drugs that gave me back side effects - rash, itching, dry mouth, constipation, headache, dizziness, back pain, etc. I urinate on average 20-40 times a day, approximately every 15-20 minutes. After using the patch, I went as long as 2 hours without using the restroom. My skin is irritated and red, but it's better than spending my whole day in the bathroom. I can't believe my doctor didn't put me on this over-the-counter drug first before spending hundreds of dollars on prescription medications. I have suffered for over 30 years with the issue of urgency and frequency, this is a miracle for me. Praise the LORD."

For Hyperhidrosis "I started using this in September 2010, and it has been the solution I thought I'd never find. Over sweating even during winter was such an embarrassing thing in public situations, sweaty palms on my face and on other areas of my body. Yes, there are side effects, it makes my mouth and other areas, including my skin, very dry. I increase my liquid intake and chew gum now and then to counteract the total dryness. Along with using a regular lotion like cocoa butter before bed. It also causes a bit of dizziness and a zombie-like feeling, which starts about an hour after taking a 2x 5mg dose. To overcome this, I just time it into my schedule where I don't anticipate doing anything of significant or demanding. This will probably sound strange to someone who does not suffer from over sweating, but for those that do, it is a worthy sacrifice."

For Hyperhidrosis "I have suffered with severe hyperhidrosis (palmar, plantar, and axillary) since birth and was diagnosed at a very young age when I broke out with a heat rash all over my hands and feet. Thankfully, I have outgrown the rashes but unfortunately not the sweat. I have tried Drysol, Iontophoresis, Botox injections, Glycopyrrolate, and Oxybutynin (as well as extended-release versions of the last two medications). I feel safe to say that two 5mg tabs of Oxybutynin at nighttime has worked best for me. I have been taking Oxybutynin since 2005--nearly 10 years now and it still is holding up pretty well. Side effects that I experience: dehydration, dizziness, and weakness."

For Urinary Frequency "I've been on the oxybutynin for 6 days now for an overactive bladder. A year and a half ago (11/17), I broke my pelvis in 2 places and my sacrum. In the beginning, I was unable to void on my own, and they prescribed me Flomax, which helped, but it made me so dizzy I stopped taking it. Fast forward to 2019, and my bladder spasms and urgency were increasing and making it really uncomfortable. So, after a UDS, my doctor decided to try me on oxybutynin. While it seems to help the spasms, it seems to make it harder to be able to start voiding. Like it relaxes it almost too much, when I try harder to void, it just leads to a spasm. That and the dry mouth, dry throat, dry eyes, and sinuses are really uncomfortable. Feeling like I need to constantly clear my throat is for the birds. I'm certainly going to take myself off of it. These side effects just aren't worth it."

For Hyperhidrosis "Due to breast cancer, I’ve been taking hormone blockers for prevention. With any exertion at all, I had almost constant severe perspiration. Very embarrassing while cooking a meal for my family or trying to enjoy our patio. After only 2 days, I was normal! I’m so grateful to my radiologist for prescribing that medication. My life is transformed! I am experiencing dizziness. Hoping it gets better! But even that’s better than talking like I just got out of the shower all the time!"

For Urinary Frequency "I have only rated this med a 1 simply because of the side effects. I am so disappointed. The meds actually work so well, I went from going to the bathroom every 20 minutes and 5 or 6 times a night to around 8 times a day, but oh my, the side effects. After 2 days I had to stop the medication. The worst migraine of my life, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, and I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. Please whoever makes this, please fix the side effects, so that I can take this med."

Oxytrol (oxybutynin) for Urinary Frequency "Red, raised skin, itchy and uncomfortable reaction at each site to the adhesive that was lasting for a week - so not only site with a patch but also from the previous patch. Dry mouth, dizziness, and nausea, but yes, reduced need to run for the bathroom, just the side effects starting causing as many problems as it was meant to be solving."

For Urinary Frequency "The side effects are horrible! For me, it causes really bad dizziness and blurred vision, and my eyes don't focus like they should. It also causes me to feel spaced out, and it affects my cognitive function. I've had really bad short-term memory with this drug, and the dry eyes and dry mouth are horrible. It has mostly helped with my overactive bladder, but I don't think it's worth the side effects."

For Urinary Frequency "I have been taking this medication for one month, and while it works great for my overactive bladder problem, the side effects are so great I have stopped taking it as of yesterday. I can deal with the dry mouth and sinus problems, but in the 3rd week, I developed severe dizziness/vertigo, and that I can't deal with. I will try something else now."

For Urinary Frequency "I took Oxybutynin 5 mg for 6 weeks for my overactive bladder. While it curbed that in great fashion, it created side effects that got worse and worse. I experienced drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, dry mouth, and blurred vision. I stopped taking this medication. One last note, if you take a depression med (in my case, Amitriptyline), those meds can actually increase these side effects, take this medicine with caution!"

For Urinary Frequency "This drug worked great with very few side effects when I was taking a 5 mg pill. I was still leaking a little, so my Dr. increased it to 10 mg. That's when the problems began. Dizziness, extreme fatigue, gas, bloating, nausea, and it appeared to not work at all on the higher dosage. I'm going back down to 5 mg. At least I could function at work and had no fatigue. I guess sometimes a lower dose is better, especially when it comes to the horrible side effects."

For Urinary Incontinence "Was prescribed 5 mg morning and night for urinary incontinence. Took a total of 2 1/2 doses over a 2-day period. Made me very dizzy, to the point I felt like a total hangover. Stopped immediately, almost a week later, and the dizziness is still there, although it gets very little better each day."

For Hyperhidrosis "This drug is pretty amazing. I've had hyperhidrosis of the palms, soles, and underarms since hitting puberty. I was skeptical since I've previously tried Botox, iontophoresis, and Drysol with limited results. However, after three days of taking oxybutynin (5 mg 3x a day), I was 95% sweat-free. My only negative things to say about the drug are about side effects. I have gotten fairly dizzy/spaced out a few times, and I experience dry mouth pretty often. However, that's not bad in comparison to the acne I've gotten. I used to get pimples around once a month, however, now I have ones lasting for"

For Hyperhidrosis "I'm 24, I've had hyperhidrosis since I was 12, I have palmar hyperhidrosis. I started taking oxybutynin tablets 3 days ago (5 mg twice a day, total 10 mg a day). I haven't noticed any change in my sweating for the first two days, I felt like I sweat maybe even more, and all I got were the side effects (dry mouth, throat, and dizziness). Today (the third day), I started seeing some results, my sweating was decreased about 50%. I still sweat though, but I'm looking forward to better results in the upcoming days."

For Hyperhidrosis "I've given this stuff a try a couple of times, and I'm surprised more people don't complain about the side effects! I didn't really notice a difference in dryness, but I sure felt terrible! I could barely function on this stuff: pressure headache, lethargy, and dizziness! I'm glad it works for some people; wish I was one of them!"

For Hyperhidrosis "Female, 40 yrs - age. Started getting axillary hyperhidrosis at age 24 yrs. Not known if hereditary, so Dr. said wasn't primary but secondary. I basically begged my Dr. as it had major effects on my QOL. At my wit's end, willing to try anything, just want it to be over! On day 4 of 2.5 mg per day. I took the 1st dose in the afternoon (fine), the 2nd dose just before dinner (not good! Found myself dizzy and tired), the 3rd and 4th doses before bed (fine). On the 4th day, starting to get a slight dry throat, not major. Sweat seems to have decreased a little. Not confident to wear anything not black. Can't be certain as to improvement as sometimes clothing feels wet, but when I feel my armpit, it feels dry, weird. Will be brave tomorrow and wear color. Will keep updating over weeks."

For Urinary Frequency "I have very minor urinary leakage, mostly with coughing or sneezing, but I also have to get up 2-3 times a night to go to the bathroom. My doctor put me on oxybutynin 15 mg ER. The pharmacist said to take it at night before bed due to the side effect of drowsiness. I took one pill and had insomnia all night. The next day, I was groggy, dizzy, foggy-headed, with a dry nose, dry throat, and dry mouth. The dryness was so bad my nose and throat actually ached and had a stinging sensation. The grogginess and extreme dizziness got worse as the day went on. I will never take this drug again, even in a smaller dose. If it does all this with just one pill, what is it doing to my body over the long term? I will stick to pads and trips to the bathroom. Watch what I drink...no caffeine."

For Urinary Frequency "I have been on this medication for years. I have tried for my doctor to change my medication because I have every side effect, including the back pains, rash, and dizziness. I am just noticing the dizziness, which I have bad. It has caused my life to the point I could stay alone or drive. I have an appointment tomorrow with a new doctor, so I will request to discontinue this Ditropan."
