For Birth Control "I’ve been on norethindrone 0.35 mg for 1 month & 1 week. First couple of weeks headache & distended stomach/bloating. Drinking 60-100 oz water daily now. Tender breasts. All of the minor side effects have subsided. I had breakthrough bleeding or spotting every day the 1st month. My 1st period on it was still long but less blood, less clots, less pain! Period came during the last week of the month/pack. I am praying this pill shortens my periods or makes them go away completely. I have endometriosis, fibroids, & perimenopause. My periods are as painful as childbirth with extreme hemorrhaging. I am combating anemia from blood loss. I am so happy with this pill so far! The side effects are minimal. I was so scared to go on it, but I’m glad I did. I’m going to give it a solid 3-4 months to see what happens. Very important to take this pill exactly the same time daily. Set an alarm!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking this 6 weeks after my daughter was born. I’ve been taking it for 3 months now and am officially stopping this pill. It has made me bleed so irregularly and heavily that it’s unmanageable. It feels like I’m bleeding more so than when I am not. I’m not sure if I am experiencing other symptoms, but I definitely look like I am more bloated, so maybe that’s something I’ve experienced as well and haven’t correlated the two. My primary reason for stopping is the excessive bleeding."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I decided to come back and review this drug as I was on the fence as there were a lot of negative reviews. I have uterine fibroids near the end of 2018, at 40. I had a heavy period that lasted 2 months. I was put on DEPO, and my period stopped that night and for a few months; then I had more breakthrough bleeding. At the 1-year mark, my arm that I used to get the shot in started hurting. I could barely lift it and couldn't sleep on it. I didn't go back; instead, I switched to regular birth control that used to always work (Daysee). The bleeding stopped again until I had a gallbladder attack for the first time. Turns out I had gallstones. After about a year on that, I started having breakthrough bleeding again. I read that the estrogen in the birth control is responsible (among other things), so I switched to this. Almost immediately, the pain has left my gallbladder, and I feel normal again. Two weeks have passed; the breakthrough bleeding has passed. You have to take this at a precise time each day."

For Birth Control "First off, I've been super skeptical all around the board with birth control because I've heard the terrible stories of women who do not get to enjoy or experience womanhood due to cysts building on ovaries, recurring UTIs, and yeast infections... the list goes on! This darn birth control was the very first birth control I EVER USED, and it has been the best thing for a young woman wanting to keep a baby away for the time being. I maybe bled once 3 months later after starting, but my periods stopped happening often after that. I did not get acne, gain weight, lose weight, headaches, or even worry about being pregnant because I've tested that out too, several times lol! Maybe the only downfall was fatigue and breast tenderness. I would find myself slightly more tired when I'm typically an on-the-go person all the time. I would get a few cramps during the typical timing of my cycle, but there was not always blood involved, it really depended on my body that month!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Errin .35 for 6 weeks and decided to stop taking it due to having my period for all but 3 weeks straight. Only had small breaks in between, like a day here or there, and just when I thought it was done, it started again. It also made me very tired to the point I would fall asleep in the middle of the afternoon if I wasn't actively doing something. I started it mainly because I am done having children and my periods were terrible because of my fibromyalgia. The cons of taking this far outweigh the pros for me. I would rather just feel like crap for a couple of days a month than deal with periods lasting weeks."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Over it!!! Due to my health insurance going away, I was given Errin as it was cheaper out of pocket. I was using Loestrin FE and was loving it! Periods were very light, and some months didn't come at all. It was a nice alternative to the Mirena that I had. However, the Errin is horrible. I take it the same time every day, and the side effects are awful. I have started to experience breakouts on my face. But the worst is the periods! Periods last anywhere from 7-10 days!! It's ridiculous!! You think you're done, and BAM it's back. Once this pack is empty, I'm done!! I have insurance now, so I will be asking the doctor to switch me back to my Loestrin FE. This is horrible!! I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "Errin is the best pill I have taken in the last 3 years! (22 y/o) Started taking it after the birth of my 2nd child because Sprintec sent my mood in a major depressive tailspin 7 mo after my first child. This is important because the break in birth control due to the major mood swings on the combined pill was how I got pregnant with #2 earlier than desired. Errin is my first progestin-only pill ('mini-pill') and has had no effect on breastfeeding, no spotting or breakthrough bleeding, just some dry skin and minor acne. I feel totally comfortable taking it for the next few years and if you can manage your skin regularly, 10/10 recommend asking your GP. My friends and husband like me better on this pill because I am more myself PLUS protected from unplanned pregnancy. Double win!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this for a while now, probably 2 years. Used to take Depo, but my doctor said I shouldn’t remain on it due to the side effects. I’ve not had any bad experiences, really, the only thing is maybe a lower sex drive. Periods are light and only last 4 days max. I would recommend this, but of course, everyone’s body reacts differently to medications."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on Errin birth control pill for 3 months, currently on number 4. Since I started, my cycle has lasted for up to 10 days. Prior, it only lasted 5 days. After reading the comments here, I'm done too. Calling the doctor to prescribe me a new one, or I'll just go back to using my Flow app."

For Birth Control "I am 22. I’ve been using Errin for 5 months. I started taking it 3 weeks postpartum. I don’t have my period ever, whether I take BC or not. My doctor said I had endometriosis, but I mostly use it for birth control. The only side effects I have are I feel super tired and lazy, and I have period-like cramps at the beginning of each month. I really like this, it does NOT cause me mood swings or anger like other BC has. The only thing I don’t like is remembering to take it each day at the same time. Other than that, it’s great for me."

For Birth Control "I’m 41. I am not allowed to take estrogen because of a medical condition where it is contraindicated. I tried this birth control once before and only lasted a week because of the anxiety I felt. About 6 months later, I tried again. I realized the anxiety I was feeling was really more of anxiety from life and not the pill. I’m almost a month in and the initial side effects like mild nausea, mild fatigue, and maybe a little anxiety have subsided. My breasts were also tender when starting, and that has decreased. Now I just feel like normal me, and I’m glad I’m sticking it out. I do NOT want to get pregnant at this age! Sexual desire INCREASED because I don’t have to worry. I set an alarm and take my pill at the same time daily. This is no issue for me. All in all, I love this pill. I’m glad I gave it another chance."

For Birth Control "I gave Errin birth control pill a whole year to settle in with my body. I gained weight, have had irregular periods, including one that leaked all over my white pants (talk about being 44 and feeling like you are 14!), fatigue, you name it! I also have had issues with inflammation and an undiagnosable lymph node issue in my neck that happens to flare up just once a month. I’m convinced it’s due to this pill. Stopping it today after talking to gyn."

For Birth Control "Wish I read the reviews before taking Errin. I have been on Errin for 15 months and stopped taking it a week ago due to severe migraines, weight gain, moodiness, and decreased interest in things that I usually enjoy. My sex drive has decreased, and I have little or no interest in my husband. I could not figure out why I was so upset over small things, and he even asked me to look into alternative methods of birth control. PLEASE do your research. It's not for everyone."

For Birth Control "I didn't notice any side effects with Errin until I was on it for about 5 months. That's when I realized I was depressed. Cried at the drop of a hat and for no reason, got upset/angry at things that I normally wouldn't think twice about, etc. I didn't know what was causing this but decided to go off the pill to see if that would help. Within a couple of weeks, I was back to my old self. I also didn't realize it at the time, but Errin seriously lowered my sex drive."

For Birth Control "I'm 42, started this pill as a birth control method and also to hopefully reduce my heavy monthly periods. Two months in now, and my experience is horrible! I have one week left of pills, and I'm not going to continue to take them. First month started pack on Sunday after my period was finished. After another seven days, approximately of taking the pills, I have another full 6-7 day period. Then after that, around day 21 (which should have been when I was supposed to get my period), I got it yet again. I'm on pill pack two now. I'm now due for my period. I've had breast tenderness for two weeks and horrific cramping every evening (I take the pill in the morning), accompanied with nausea. Side effects make it hard to tell if it's the pill or pregnancy."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Started on Errin 4 weeks after I had my son, and I have been on it for almost 4 months now, and the last 2 months I have had a period 2 times a month, which is so unusual for me. After reading everyone's experiences with it, I am glad I'm not the only one that is like this. I was wondering if it was my body getting back on track after having my son or the birth control. Since I'm a smoker, I was put on this, and it was the only pill offered to me. It was this or the IUD, and I really don't want a foreign object in my body. Great as a birth control, but for me, I was using it for 2 reasons: it was as a birth control and to STOP my periods."

For Birth Control "Went to the doc for horrific periods, fatigue, and bleeding through the heaviest available pad within an hour days 2-3 of my seven days. I was a smoker, went with progestin due to the risk of blood clots. I started pills one day after my period ended. So day 26, I started having brown/bloody discharge, not so much spotting, today is day 27, and I have started my period... I think. Again, more of a heavy discharge. The first week, I went absolutely nuts, very angry, sensitive, dizzy or disoriented the first half of the day, and afraid to drive, my depth perception was off. I cried the first two days for no reason. Experimented with times, and I’m not sure if it was just my body acclimating to it or if it was finally finding the right time to take, but it went away. I have since quit smoking, taken vitamins, watched what I eat, and indoor cycling for a half an hour a day. I have lost weight and my mood has stabilized, I even did well during my nicotine withdrawals. It’s worth noting I suffer from anxiety already."

For Birth Control "I switched from the patch to 'Errin' in mid-February by my doctor as she was worried it was affecting my blood pressure as it was too high. I've been on it for 3 months and have had inconsistent periods. 1 being a week and a half long, spotting a few days after I had just had it, not getting a period at all the following month, and now receiving a very light period (possibly spotting) for 5 days already. During these 3 months, I have gained 10 pounds although I have not changed my healthy eating habits and actually added a few workouts during the week. I have noticed I'm moody or depressed throughout the day at work and at home a couple of times a week. Nice that my blood pressure has been normal, although I'm taking blood pressure medication as well. I'm currently switching to the patch again once I finish this pack since I'm not happy with the outcome. Hope this helps to whoever is seeking insight who has high blood pressure and is considering taking Errin."

For Birth Control "I was on Errin for about 4 months. I was following my doctor's orders and the prescription orders and set my alarm for 9 am every day to take the med. I faithfully took it when my alarm went off. During my 5th month taking the med, I ended up pregnant. I can't take a combo pill due to my migraines. Now I have a beautiful 10-month-old daughter, and I have the IUD in."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My initial experience was terrible because I would not stop bleeding, and after I could not bear it anymore, I went to the doctor in tears and frustration, and she switched me to Slynd, which is a bit of a higher mg, and the bleeding stopped in about a week. Seems to be going better with the higher dosage of the progestin. Definitely check out Slynd if the bleeding is too persistent on Errin."

For Endometriosis "I’ve been taking Errin birth control pill for about a month now. Overall, it’s been really good! I haven’t had the spotting everyone complains about, and I have not had any cramping either. I normally have really terrible periods, so I’m hoping this birth control can either stop them completely or lessen the pain. The first week or two, it gave me really bad headaches (not migraines, just headaches), but those went away after about week two. I haven’t noticed any weight gain either. I feel like the medicine maybe gives me slight mood swings, but I can recognize them pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I’m not seeing any improvement in my skin."

For Birth Control "Did not have a good experience with Errin and had to stop after a few weeks. I switched from a combined pill to this, thinking it would improve the anxiety I had developed with previous birth control. Prior to starting birth control, I had never had any anxiety, panic attacks, or other mental health issues. As soon as I started taking Errin, my panic attacks increased to almost every night. I felt odd, sort of like a void, unbothered, indifferent with no emotions. I also felt tired, lightheaded, almost as if my blood sugar was dropping. I wish it would’ve worked, but everyone has different experiences. This just happened to be mine."

It seems as though other raters on here have also had abnormal bleeding due to this pill. I also have a decreased sex drive and feel bloated almost all of the time. I will be switching soon."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Prescribed because fibroids and polyps (and probably pre-menopause) made the period flow unbearable. CONS: -If I don't take the pill at exactly the same time every day, I have 4 days of medium flow between cycles. Happened 3 times. Can't even be 20 minutes late or early. Felt like 3 periods in one month (every other week). -Cramps much worse than before. Still happen between cycles too. Often need Tylenol mid-sleep. -Clots huge unless I preemptively take Advil every few hours. -Breasts sensitive to the point of aching sometimes. -Period can be a week earlier or later than the previous one, so planning is impossible. PROS: -Actual period flow is slightly more manageable than before. -Spotting between cycles much less (sometimes not at all) unless I screw up my dose time. SUMMARY: If I take the pill on time with 100% accuracy, the period is slightly better. But my quality of life feels like it has declined due to the stress the side effects have added to it."
