Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "I am going crazy on this drug. I have been on several BP meds and none worked. Put me on Bystolic 10mg, numbers were not good. Felt like I was going to die most days. Severe ear pressure, ringing, and sensitivity. Insomnia, numb hands and feet, headaches constantly, severe fatigue, anxiety, shaking, stopped doing everything, stopped meds on my own. Will I ever feel better? Feel like I'm gonna die!"

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "59-year-old woman had been very active and fit. An adverse reaction to a cold medication sent my blood pressure sky-high, and my doc put me on Bystolic 5mg, which worked well for me for 3 months until I started having awful side effects such as dizziness, extreme fatigue, numbness, and cold extremities, etc. It was debilitating. Getting off Bystolic was awful. My heart rate was through the roof, I had major tremors, panic attacks, and very high BP spikes for days. I had very intolerable side effects to other BP meds as well. I am 2 months off Bystolic now, and 9 days off all BP meds. Blood pressure occasionally spikes, but generally not bad and coming down gradually. I'm able to exercise a bit again, and that is helping my blood pressure. But I still have slight tremors most days, still lightheaded, and definitely more anxious than I ever was before I started any medication. I feel like I was poisoned, and recovery is very slow."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "I monitor my BP daily. Was anywhere from 140's over 80's with some spiking highest 176 over 86. Could hear it pulsing in ears. Thought was going to have heart attack or stroke. Went to Dr. and started me on Bystolic 2.5mg. Gave bunch samples to take. Took for 3 wks, brought me occasionally to 130's over 70's but still having spikes. Went back to Dr., upped dose to 5mg. Am sitting here with BP 171 over 82. Have resorted to taking additional 2.5mg to try and get BP down. Since started taking, hands and feet are cold. Have numbness sometimes. Walk 2 mile daily and exercise, now fight fatigue. Am out on couch by 7 pm. Sometimes feel like going to pass out. Feel anxious and never had anxiety. Take no other medications have been relatively healthy all my 63 yrs. with exception of extra lbs which I've lost 20 and am working on getting fit. This drug is not working for me! Scares me more, now that I have read the reviews. See Dr in 3 days, plan on telling her to give me something else."

For High Blood Pressure "I started taking nebivolol in July 2022 for high BP. Everything was fine at first as my BP was where it needed to be. I noticed after a month or so I developed severe muscle and upper back pain, which would wake me up in the middle of the night. I also was having trouble going to sleep at night. I thought it was from a recent job where I sat at my computer all day. What was worse, I noticed I was becoming more anxious about simple things in my job that I normally would never worry about. My anxiety became so severe, I couldn’t perform my job because I was so worked up and couldn’t focus on anything. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I eventually quit my job because my anxiety was so severe I could barely function. Trying to figure out what was causing my back pain, I ran across this forum and noticed other people were experiencing the same symptoms I was having. I quit taking nebivolol, and I am finally starting to feel normal again. Stay away!"

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "I have been sick ever since I have taken this medication, 20 mg. Memory loss, jitters, anxiety, panic attacks, cold chills... this has been a complete nightmare. After reading the reviews above, maybe I can get some help - every doctor I have been to kept saying maybe it's depression... what are you depressed about? I am not depressed for crying out loud. This is another failed medication that's causing folks to become sick. I have been carted off the road twice from this medication because of anxiety from these pills. My life has been a living hell."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "I am a 43-year-old female. Doctor said I am having adrenaline rushes and that it's giving me high blood pressure and a rapid heartbeat. 160/100 and heartbeat in 120's resting. Put me on Azor, blood pressure came down, but heart rate was still high and I was feeling like I was having anxiety attacks. Doctor decided to put me on Bystolic a week ago, and the very first day I took it, my heart rate came down in the 60's and it also brought my blood pressure down to 110/65 resting. My feeling of anxiety is pretty much gone, and I am feeling much better. I have slight issues with waking up in the middle of the night, but I seem to be able to go back to sleep pretty quickly."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "Started 5 mg Bystolic in July 2017. Lowered my BP to unsafe levels, 90/50, as well as my heart rate, 47 bpm. Could not sleep well, 3-4 hours nightly, and had a jittery feeling throughout the day. Reduced dosage to 2.5 mg. Even at that dose, I experienced unsatisfactory results. Started breaking the 2.5 mg in half, and I'm sleeping better, and my BP runs around 112/60. Still have the jitters, however. I run daily and have difficulty getting my heart rate above 110. It seems there's a price to pay for many medications, often more than I'm willing to accept. Quality of life issues."

For High Blood Pressure "I was put on nebivolol while in the hospital with COVID for four days back in December 2022, as well as the requisite blood thinners. Once I finished the 3 months of blood thinners, I saw my doctor, and she recommended I continue with the BP meds indefinitely because of my age. This was before I found this page and other people's experiences. For months, I had been having insane dreams, anxiety, a lack of desire, and an overall struggle with negative, catastrophic thoughts. Well, 2 weeks ago, I read the comments here, so I bought a BP monitor and began tracking mine several times a day. Then I forgot to take my pill one day and didn't notice till late the next night, 36 hours later. I checked my pressure, and it was the same as before and has stayed that way. What else I noticed was the lack of anxiety and stress. I was going to wean off of it for a week of half doses, so I took half a pill yesterday, what a disaster, the anxiety and negative thoughts came rushing back. My readings are 115/75, 55 bpm."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "I took Bystolic for about 7 months, but had to discontinue because of side effects. One of the many side effects I suffered was severe anxiety. I was only able to take 2.5 mg, and my blood pressure was not controlled."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "Didn't reduce my pressure the way I wanted, usually between 130/80 to 140/90. Was good for my rapid heart rate and usually brought my diastolic rate down. Unfortunately, I became tired a lot, which I cured by taking good vitamins from GNC. It calmed me from occasional anxiety. It made me sleep well, and I stopped having headaches. Unfortunately, I had acne, which I have never had in my life, labored breathing, some hair loss, blurred vision, and I became very anxious after six months of being on the drug, which made my pressure escalate. I have switched medication now, and my doctor is weaning me off slowly. I have gone from 10 mg to 2.5 mg. It's a great drug if it works for you, but it is not for everyone, and the side effects vary."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "Was put on Bystolic for high blood pressure induced by stress. This is a horrible medication. I was only on 12.5 mg once a day, and side effects were intolerable. Extreme flushing and feeling of anxiety...stomach pain. My blood pressure actually spiked after taking this medication. Also caused bad insomnia. I was in bed awake until 4 a.m. for 3 nights in a row when I finally decided to go to my doctor and got switched to another medication. Seems doctors are always trying to push the new and latest version of drugs, just to report back to the drug companies. Will never take it again."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "I've tried 11 different blood pressure medications and finally found one that has helped. I have been taking Bystolic now for 3 months without any major side effects. I occasionally feel a little anxious, I'm normally a laid-back person, so I'm not sure if this is because of Bystolic. I will continue to monitor and see what happens."

For High Blood Pressure "For 25 plus years, I swore by Bystolic and its low side effects and long, dependable, consistent blood pressure control. Skip to today when my insurance company decided they didn’t want to pay the cost for name-brand Bystolic and instead forced me to use the generic version, Nebivolol. I have never seen so many horrible side effects. They were so bad I wanted to commit suicide. Constant heart palpitations to the point of being almost debilitating, back pain, irregular and mostly high blood pressure readings at all times of day, the most extreme anxiety that caused me to visit the emergency room. I wish I could sue the manufacturer after seeing that I am by far not the only person experiencing this. My heart doctor put me on atenolol, and my god!!! The difference is astounding!!! I feel a complete weight lifted off my shoulders. There are still residual effects of the Nebivolol, but I’m hoping it will dissipate over the next few days."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "After only four days on 2.5 mg, I am experiencing interdose withdrawal. I am sensitive to medication, but after about 12 hours of taking a dose, I have the symptoms of having too much adrenaline - anxiety, muscle twitching, insomnia. It brings down adrenaline for 12 hours, and then you pay for that."

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "47 yr old 212 lbs. I have been on 50 mg per day of metoprolol tartrate for 5 yrs. Doctor decided to try me on 10 mg Bystolic after I complained of some fatigue and light sensitivity. Took it 3 weeks. I loved it at first, I had a lot more energy, didn't have the usual muscle weakness, but noticed my libido was higher in the afternoon and waned off towards the evening. As the medicine wore off, so did my interest in sex. I also noticed that my social anxiety returned. I have always attributed the metoprolol to helping me feel calm. I was having some friends visit, so I went back to the metoprolol, and my anxiety definitely went away. Although now I feel twice as tired. I am on the fence with this med because of the social anxiety. (sigh)"

For Mitral Valve Prolapse "I have mild Mitral Valve Prolapse, but my resting heart rate is low, 45 bpm to 50 bpm. My Dr. suggests 1.25 one time a day with duloxetine because I have panic attacks and anxiety. Do you think I can take this with my low heart rate?"

For Mitral Valve Prolapse "Been taking this for 2 years now, 5 mg, for my MVP and high blood pressure caused by stress and anxiety. I still have anxiety problems from time to time, but my usual blood pressure has dropped from 165/100 to 135/75. Wanted to lower it even more, but cannot seem to do it, with my all-worrying nature. Tachycardia is also gone. I have no troubles sleeping like I had before, no major problems. The only negative side effect that I seem to feel is falling low on energy on some days. So if you are operating heavy machinery or are an avid athlete, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise I would, it helped me a lot."

"Put on this for PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) and PACs (premature atrial contractions) after trying Toprol and Acebutolol and Atenolol. Loved Atenolol, but started lowering my pulse to the 40s and my palps increased. So I was put on this. I hate it. Since day one, I have had hot flashes - yet I've been done with menopause for 2 years. I have increased anxiety, ringing in my ears, insomnia, I'm almost depressed. I just sit with no motivation to do anything. I was put on this and told to go exercise again (had stopped for a couple of months due to an injury). I have no desire to do a damned thing, even shop! I emailed my doc immediately, and he said to give it another 10 days. I am so, so angry. I'm really not sure I can last another 10 days. I've been on it for 7, already. Never had this kind of reaction to any of the other BBs I have tried. Now I understand I need to carefully wean off of this. Ridiculous! Oh, I am a nurse, by the way."

For High Blood Pressure "Have tried twice to get off this drug from hell and failed, palpitations and anxiety attacks, weight gain, memory loss, you name it. My cardio doc recently switched me to bisoprolol-Zebeta, a little better but still unable to completely get off these damned beta blockers, HELP !!!"

Nebivolol for High Blood Pressure "I was on metoprolol 100 for about 1 year. It caused anxiety, heart palpitations, dizziness, tiredness, and a general ill/bad feeling. My doctor finally offered new medicines, and the Bystolic 10mg is the best thing that could have happened for me. I was nervous at first because of my experience with other beta blockers, but honestly, apart from taking it every morning, I forget I have a condition. No side effects! When I was researching Bystolic, I found bad reviews, but after using it for 3 months now, I had to leave positive remarks. What a great medicine."
