For Sinus Symptoms "Was prescribed this to treat suspected chronic sinusitis. Well, 2-3 days after starting the spray, my symptoms turned from what looked like allergy (post-nasal drip, clear nasal discharge, sneezing), to a full-on infection, complete with facial pain, very thick yellow/green mucous, severe congestion, headaches, no sleep, mouth breathing at night, virtually no sleep. I went from a functioning person to someone who couldn’t even get the kids off to school in the mornings. Got put on a round of antibiotics which did nothing, currently waiting on x ray results to find out what on earth is going on. Be warned, the information sheet early states that this medication can exacerbate an exisiting viral or bacterial infection, and I’m pretty sure that is what happened here."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I kid you not. Reading these reviews has made me realise I wasn’t going crazy and it will take a serious amount of sleep to catch up! 6 months pregnant. Rhinitis. Get it every time. I use Xylometazoline but it’s not good long term so trying to limit my use. Doctor said to try Nasonex so prescribed me this so I could wean off the Xylometazoline. Within 3 hours of taking it, I did initially feel better although my nose wasn’t completely unblocked. Until I went to bed. As I am writing this, it is 4:45am, I haven’t been to sleep. I’ve had night sweats, heart palpitations, anxiety and a crying session. I didn’t know what was wrong with me until I read the reviews after I thought it could well be. I am shocked I am not alone! I cannot fathom how any doctor can prescribe something so toxic especially to a pregnant woman."

Nasonex (mometasone) for Sinus Symptoms "I use nasonex for sinus/nasal swelling that causes headaches or fluid build up in my ears. It had always been more effective than antihistamines or anti inflammatory meds. I have issues with dry mouth and I think nasonex aggravates it, but I had to quit nasonex completely once I got dental implants. I got 4 dental implants, and nasonex causes the gum tissue around them to become so sensitive that I get queasy when my check touches rubs against my gums. It takes a long time to get better and my allergist and dentist are perplexed. There is no redness, or sores, in fact the gums look 100% normal, but the sensitivity is extremely uncomfortable and can last for weeks. It is awful that I have to choose which issue I have to live with. One doctor did say they saw a very very faint white lace pattern on the gums where it hurt, but everyone else said they saw no sign of something being physically wrong."

Nasonex (mometasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I've been using nasonex off and on for quite a few years especially in the winter time as I have a constant runny nose and frequent sinus infections. I recently realized that I have frequent headaches and migraines mostly in the winter time also. This medication was a godsend for me in the beginning but it's not anymore. After long-term use it seems like my sinuses are burning all the time and my nose is still running whether I use it or not. I often have heart palpitations and have even had heart tests for that. I have decided to go off this medication for a long period of time to see if any of the symptoms I've described are caused by the nasonex."

For Sinus Symptoms "I've been using this mometasone nasal spray for a while and it worked really well for my allergy symptoms. Since I started the spray, I've been getting unusual migraines constantly, which I RARELY get. It was only today that I finally connected the dots and found that the spray is the reason I've been getting these migraines. It works super well for my allergies but I don't think I can continue because of this side effect!"

Nasonex (mometasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I had a cold with a stuffy nose so I don't know why my Doctor prescribed this for me. I wish I could give this product a zero. It did absolutely nothing for me except give me severe nosebleeds. I would love to contact the company to complain but I can't find their contact information anywhere. Worst 50 bucks I ever spent."

Nasonex (mometasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I've been using it for a while and it didn't work well for me. I changed to another spray and it got much better. Also had the problem where the mist did not actually reach where it was supposed to go but rather just drooled out."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have been using Mometasone Furoate 50g Nasal spray from the last 4 months and its a miracle for my rhinitis allergy. I got a runny nose, sneezing, headache all year round from the last 15 years and been using a lot of medicines like Rigix, Loratadine, Avamys spray but nothing worked. I started researching about this allergy, find out this spray and talk to my doctor about it. This is the only spray that has worked, I feel so relieved and no symptoms so far."

For Sinus Symptoms "Went through Covid, loss sense of smell and taste, as well as additional acute sinustitis infection. The smell and taste came back much later but was not stable, was reduced to very faint smell next day or to nothing, rollercoaster. The infection reduced the smell further. I was prescibed Mometasone Furoate nasal spray and for the first day or 2, it relieved the pressure but there were also other side effects. I faced the below symptoms: Anxiety Depression Heart palpitations Affected sleep, was not able to sleep at all Blurry vision Oral thrush Tight throat like you can't breath I've been asked by doctor to use it every day (2 sprays each nostril) but for today, i'm going to stop and see what happens. I feel less on edge not using it. I advise for everyone to be careful in using this medication."

Nasonex (mometasone) for Sinus Symptoms "I have severe s-shaped septum and chronic sinus issues. I found that this drug worked, I started to get my sense of smell back, pressure started to subside, but it caused horrible side effects. I felt tight, like I couldn't breathe properly, very anxious all the time, aching muscles, weakness. I also developed strange unexpected pains in chest."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I'm sorry that many of you had negative experiences with Mometasone spray, I took it for my nasal allergies which were causing problems breathing through my nose and it cleared those up quickly. Also helped me gain weight when I was borderline underweight. Would highly recommend."

Nasonex (mometasone) for Sinus Symptoms "The product works well. The problem is the packaging. Why don't manufacturers stop using so much unnecessary packaging for their products when disposal is such a growing problem. Nasonex Allergy comes in a lovely plastic container that does not require a huge cardboard box, more than twice the size of the container. There is now a large space just for directions. Its about time these manufacturers started getting a little innovative with their packaging and reduced the need for unwanted excessive packaging that continues to produce problems for landfill."

For Sinus Symptoms "I have used mometasone for almost 10 years for nasal polyps, chronic sinus infections, and seasonal allergies. The only treatment that has worked consistently. Possible (?) long term use side effects that I have experienced are cataracts, double vision, and suppressed white blood cell and platelet counts. Small price to pay for being able to breathe...!"

For Sinus Symptoms "Was prescribed after having ear problems and was told to take this as my nurse practitioner saw fluid in a tube behind my ear drum, and boy... I've never had these side effects before... and it's a nasal spray!! Have been taking it for over 2 weeks and my "full head" feeling has improved, so it seems, and not as unsteady/dizzy as before but the last 2-3 days my anxiety has been horrible!! I used to take meds for it and have been fine without for a while but all of a sudden, I get these horrible anxious feelings, on edge, even had the heart palpitations but thought it was muscle spasms but I wonder... The anxiety with this med was worse than I ever had it prior to anxiety meds!! I've also had headaches but was told of this side effect but the anxiety and not being able to "feel like you can do anything as you can't take more stress" isn't worth all these extra things! I also had the eye pressure/spasms! Thank you for this site & people posting! It's not just me and I don't feel alone!!"

Nasonex (mometasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I was on Nasonex for 5 months, and it was very helpful in relieving my sinus issues and my ETD, which were caused by allergies. However, the side effects are hard to deal with, so eventually I decided to switch to using antihistamines rather than steroid sprays."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Took 1 dose in the evening to alleviate allergy symptoms. The next morning my throat was hurting more and my nose was plugged. Throughout the day my body started hurting & I could feel my throat starting to close up. My tongue & uvula were swollen, my body was in immense pain, my hands were very red & I was extremely lightheaded. I waited for an hour at the doctors before almost going into anaphylactic shock. I got an injection, went home, & proceeded to take another dose of the nasal spray. That’s when it struck me that it’s the nasal spray that gave me this reaction. Immediately the body pains & lightheadedness were back, this time accompanied by a very intense headache, fever & chills. I took some antihistamines & went to bed, this feeling didn’t go away until I went back to the doctor the next day for another allergy shot. I’m now on a hefty dose of antihistamines, & I noticed the lining of my nose is swollen & slightly yellow. I hope I recover from this soon."

Nasonex (mometasone) for Allergic Rhinitis "Nasonex was prescribed because I can't breathe easily through my nose. It is hard to sleep at night and breathing through my mouth is very troublesome. I would wake several times at night with dry mouth, throat and in the morning, have a raspy voice. Dr thought I might have allergies and thought the Nasonex might open up nasal passages."

Whenever I feel any discomfort during allergy season, these products help and I don't see any side effects."

For Sinus Symptoms "Thank the lord I found this thread and saw that I’m not the only one who had a bad reaction. I binned this after one use because I have had a pounding headache all day. As well as dizziness, literally walking into things, and have also just had diarrhoea. My nose breathing feels sore like after a heavy head cold and my throat feels dry and tight. I’ve even felt very low and anxious after feeling great this morning before using it. I will stick to salt water sprays rather than risk this again."

For Sinus Symptoms "I started with Nasonex Mometasone 7th November which had been prescribed by ENT doctor. I had been prescribed this before by my doctor but didn’t use it as I read the side effects were horrendous, I had to use 2 sprays daily. I do wish I had listened to my gut, about a week after using the spray I started with joint pain but I just put it down to age and cold weather not connecting it to Nasonex, Then my eyes started to water and felt heavy. Yesterday I started to feel anxious which was not me at all. I then realised it was the Nasonex, I rang my doctors and told them I will be stopping the spray giving them the reasons. Fortunately, I have an appointment for CT scan this week and will inform the clinic of my decision. I will never use this again and I agree with the lady who said it should be taken off the market. I am hoping that these horrible symptoms disappear."
