For Light Sedation "I was given midazolam by the NHS for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. 5mg along with another dose of fentanyl I'd had the maximum legal dosage and I was still wide awake. Thankfully the procedure wasn't too painful but the nurses seemed very surprised that I was awake and able to hold a full conversation with them. They asked if I was a heavy drinker (nope) and I do not use drugs recreationally. Strange how I was able to stay fully awake on such a high dosage. Afterwards I was slightly drowsy and dizzy."

For Light Sedation "Requested sedation prior to Colonoscopy due to medical anxiety. Given 2mg Midazolam in combination with 50mcg Fentanyl, both intravenously. Did NOT work. I started to panic as they started the procedure and I was 100% awake. Specialist explained that it would sedate but not put me to sleep because they need you to move around. I told him that I was not sedated AT ALL. The procedure was okay at first but because parts of my bowel has adhesions on the outside, the procedure was extremely painful when they were 'going around corners'. They had to check my entire bowel and do 7 biopsies. They should have used intravenous Valium or similar. I would NOT recommend this type of sedation for Colonoscopy."

For Light Sedation "I was administer 5MG of Midazolam through IV prior to surgery to help with anxiety and to calm my nerves. It was an overall great experience. I didn’t feel “heavy” or “sedated” I felt calm and happy. I became talkative and relaxed. I highly recommend this medication for people prior to surgery"

For Light Sedation "I have used midazolam for years on and off and went for my gastroscopy today. All I did was tell the doctor that I had a high tolerance, and he adjusted the dosage via IV It really was an amazing experience to see how well this medicine works. I was fast asleep and was not aware of anything!"

For Light Anesthesia "Had it for Bronchoscopy. Didn’t put me to sleep. Did not experience the procedure or remember. It made me feel very high! I am 72 and have never taken any recreational drugs. I have severe arthritis but came home an hour from a the procedure no joint pain and felt strong and very energetic. Felt like I could have run a marathon! Is this an unusual reaction?"

For Light Sedation "Recently had conscious sedation with oral midazolam for two Wisdom removal, I had a liquid about half an hour before procedure. I must admit that after reading some many negative reviews I was hesitant to take the midazolam, however I was pleasantly surprised, Being a very anxious person I was extremely nervous about getting my wisdom teeth removed, the midazolam worked a treat, it helped a great deal with relief from anxiety, and I was super chilled, nothing really bothered me, I had some interesting time distortions, time passed quicker, was in the dentist chair for about more 45-50 minutes, it felt like 15 minutes. I was a little wobbly on my feet, but could easily get myself about no problems. No negative after effects, great stuff."

For Light Anesthesia "Versed is a perfectly safe med. And it is amazing at relieving anxiety. It will not put you out on its own and even when used with fentanyl will cause conscious sedation. Propofol is the drug that puts you to sleep. These 3 drugs are not interchangeable ....they just work together. I had a colonoscopy done this am. Had some versed and then some fentanyl. All my anxiety vanished and felt no pain....although I was technically awake. Vaguely recall looking at monitor to see the insides of my colon. Totally relaxing. Great feeling..."

For Light Sedation "I had a gastroscopy and a colonoscopy under midazolam and it went pretty well, I don't think I would have been able to complete the procedure without it. At first it just made me laugh at bad jokes the doctor made and then I decided to close my eyes and I just fell asleep. It wasn't like a forced sleep like when you take general anesthesia, it felt like a normal sleep at home. Turns out that was so out of it that I was apparently singing the background music the doctor had on the whole time. I woke up really relaxed. Note that I do not speak of the visual part the drug does because I had closed my eyes the whole time to make sure I wouldn't scare myself by seeing a third eye on my doctor which is something she said I might see."

For Light Anesthesia "I was given Midazolan to insert a port for cancer treatment. It didn't work at all, I felt the whole operation and experienced it with a lot of stress. It seems my heightened stress completely nulafied the effects. I wish I had been given a general, terrible."

For Light Anesthesia "I received an injection through an IV drip port and I did and do not remember anything other than waking up. I was extremely off balanced and had to move very slowly or maybe that was the effect of the drug on my central nervous system. My body entire body felt heavy and difficult to move. I did have an appetite but did not remember I had bought food to eat the day before my surgery. I tried to have PizzaHut delivery a pizza but the person taking the order was incompetent so I hung up. I called Chopstix a great Thai food restaurant and ordered Pho soup with chicken. Took pain med Tylenol-codeine and amoxicillin with the soup. Became dizzy, sick on the stomach nauseated and began sweating profusely. Stopped eating and waited for all symptoms to subside. I hope I never have to take midazolam\versed again."

For Light Sedation "Just had 3mg with 200mg of fentanyl for an enthanol ablation of a pelvic mass. Didn't work at all. Nurses joked that I had "versed talk" meaning I guess some patients stayed awake and talked a lot. Ha ha I wasn't amused and it hurt like hell"

For Light Sedation "I had a combo of this and fentanyl for a gastroscopy. It seems to be the go-to for doctors and surgeons in NZ if full general anesthetic is too much or they can't have you fully under for whatever reason, or want you under for a short period for any procedure or operation. Anyhow, they gave this to me, told me to roll on my side, and lights out. I have a vague memory of gagging and minor pain at one point as they shoved the camera down my throat, but other than that, couldn't remember a thing. Woke up fine, not groggy. No side effects. I have had rebound anxiety and sleeplessness in the past from benzos but no problems this time. I don't like needles, so having the port in my arm initially was the worst part. Going to have it again for wisdom tooth in a few weeks."

For Light Anesthesia "INSOMNIA REBOUND? Had cataract surgery with IV midazolam and fentanyl. Conscious during the first stage (laser pulverization of my existing lens with a Femtosecond laser, took 2 minutes). Anxious and conscious, somewhat unable to move, but could cooperate and not panic. No memory of the second stage (implanting new lens.) The second night after surgery I woke up at 3 and could not sleep --had to get up and do stuff, unusual for me. I have been unusually anxious and suffering from 3 am insomnia for the past ten days. The prior cataract surgery was done with valium and a different opioid. I was more relaxed and semi-conscious and did not have post-op insomnia or agitation. I will ask for an alternative to Versed in the future. Was it the drug or the setting? The second surgery center was more crowded and harsh than the first."

For Light Sedation "So, I left a review here about how the versed didn’t work. It’s been 4 hours and *now*, that I’m home, and not with doctors or anesthesiologists, it hit. Hard. 4 hours later. I’m very confused, because it was done “main line” aka, directly intravenously. So….I’m not sure how this is possible."

"Had many years using benzos for extreme anxiety. I split a 7.5 tablet and felt light sedation, was relaxed, and worked better than diazepam or any other benzos I've tried. So I regularly use a low dose to prevent panic, etc. Good stuff. It works differently, like all medication, and it seems to suit me. I get more done now as I'm less anxious."
