For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Well, this is pretty much my first experience with a YI. Earlier this month, my doctor found BV and yeast under the microscope, and she gave me medicine for both. I had sex with my partner after all of my treatments and symptoms had gone, and literally, my YI came back, but it was slight burning, cottage cheese-like discharge, with no smell or no itching. So, to save me a trip, I purchased the 3-day Monistat. I took a shower, inserted the tube, and it was soothing at first. I applied the itch cream even though I didn’t have any itching. About 10 minutes later, I felt burning all over and around my vagina. It subsided maybe like 1 hour or so later, but then it started itching like crazy inside my vagina, like I wanted to itch. Now it’s calming down again. I will wait to see what my symptoms are like in the morning, but I probably won’t use this again, as it increased my YI symptoms or created symptoms that were never there in the first place."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m on the 3rd night of a 3-day Monistat cream insert. I took ibuprofen before inserting the last dose - fast forward 3 hours and I literally just woke up (* I only wake up in pain with migraines, no other pain wakes me up) with a terrible itching sensation - convinced my YI is not going away because there’s no way my burning and itching (not to mention severely irritated labia) is caused by the actual medicine. Then I found this forum of reviews and wow I really wish I had read it before trying this med. I used Vagistat 3-day months ago for a different YI with no issues. Never again Monistat! If you want to be up at 2 a.m. writing a scathing review, then feel free to use this product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Um, I am 100% confused as to why there are no commercials on TV talking about, “If you or a loved one has been a victim of Monistat, you may be entitled to financial compensation.” How on earth is the level of pain from this product acceptable? Absolutely nothing bought on the shelf at a store should cause this much pain... I’m in tears, clenching my legs, trying to hold in my vagina because it literally feels like it’s trying to fall the heck out. This was day one, I’m not taking day two or three. I had used Monistat 1 before, and I would’ve taken an end-of-life option over the pain. Fast forward a few years to today when I thought I’d be clever and try the three, thinking it wasn’t as concentrated. No ma’am, not my vagina... never the heck again! Don’t do it, ladies, spend the copay and go see your doctor. Mine had left for the day today, and I didn’t want to go the whole weekend with the YI... probably would’ve been a better choice to just wait!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Truly would not wish this type of pain on my worst enemy. It’s currently 4 AM, and my “cookie” is on fire. I’ve been up for hours, and I can’t go back to sleep because the discomfort is so bad. I used the 3-day Monistat with hopes of it actually healing me, but I most definitely screwed up. I don’t think my yeast infection is gone, and my cookie is probably ruined forever. Not sure how this product is on shelves and also unsure how Google sites actually recommended this flame-throwing product to women. I haven’t had a yeast infection before, so I thought this type of pain was somewhat normal. Turns out Monistat is just utter garbage and wants our cookies to burn to char. If you’re thinking about using Monistat, you may as well just take some poison ivy and a match to your cookie. You’ll feel about the same."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Have used this medication (Monistat 1) twice in the past, with no side effects. Tonight, after putting the ovule in and using the appropriate topical cream, I started to experience extreme burning sensations, 1000% worse than the yeast infection itself. It feels like the outside and inside of my vagina are on fire. If I hadn’t seen all these reviews, I would be taking myself to the hospital, as I have never experienced something like this before. This product should not be on shelves."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am not doing well. This is my second YI in my life, and both times now I have used Monistat 3. The first time I inserted the product lying down and later got up and used the bathroom, which was a terrible mistake. The liquid started falling out of me and burned so bad I thought my vagina was on fire. I took a shower and spent 20 minutes trying to get all of the product out. I lay down again, scrolled through reviews, and the burning stopped after an hour. Although I removed most of the product early, the next day my vagina felt almost good as new. Fast forward to now (about a year later), I decided to give this product another try and not make the mistake of getting up after inserting. Unfortunately, standing up isn’t the problem. I have been lying down, with the insides of my vagina burning and itching for the past hour. My cooch feels like a hot pepper has been shoved up it. I am having a very tough time. Although this product works, I would not recommend it to others."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was getting to the point I couldn’t stand my vagina, so I forced my husband to fetch me the 3-day Monistat. I inserted the strange egg into my vagina and smeared the cream all over. About 5 minutes later, I was trying to make tacos, and a severe itch started, followed by an intense burn. I thought it was in my head, but it started increasing. My baby started crying during this climbing of the burn, and I literally thought I was about to go insane. My heart was racing, I was sweating profusely, and I couldn’t think straight. My husband asked if I was okay, and I had to literally abandon the tacos and baby to go into the bathroom and try and get this out. I guess it was the cream that caused this because getting most of it out, the pain actually went away... Here I am 3 hours later, and I actually feel great. My take is: it worked, but you gotta commit and crawl through the depths of hell to get to the other side."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, so I read these reviews and thought what a bunch of wimps. I used the first dose and had mild stinging for a few minutes. No biggie. Now it's the second day, and I used another dose. Oh sweet mercy. Liquid lava doesn't even begin to describe the pain. Monistat should be called Rot Your Crotch because I'm pretty sure mine melted like an ice cube in Texas in August. What sadistic person created this stuff? The pain. Then the nausea. To say it was bad was an understatement. Thank goodness there were no police around as I lay writhing in pain with my eyes crossed, jumping and twitching like frog legs in a frying pan. Dear ladies, I apologize, you are not wimps. I endured natural labor, but at least at the end of that pain, I had a beautiful baby girl. This was a close second and no baby at the end."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh my goodness. I have used Monistat in the distant past. No problem. Took care of my YI. Found out on Friday the 13th I have another one. Doc was going to call in a script but didn’t. I figured I can take OTC Monistat. Welp. I figured wrong. Popped it in at bedtime. Two hours later, I wanted to call 911 to get the fire department to put the fire out in my vajayjay. I am now sitting on a bag of frozen peas after taking ibuprofen and making out my will."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So yes, YIs SUCK! If you have to buy Monistat, you are already in a very uncomfortable place. I have used both Monistat and the generic brands, and both cause burning. It's unfortunately just a side effect of the medication working. For me, it's no worse than the itching of a YI. But if it's unbearable for you, call your doctor next time to get the pill instead. I don't like the pill because I always seem to get a YI when I'm out of town, or on a weekend/holiday (or both! Hello Labor Day weekend!)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got this 7-day cream from Dollar General pretty cheap, around $7, and when I first put it in, it burned pretty bad, but I just sat on my phone or ran around to keep my mind off of it, and after an hour, it doesn’t burn as bad, and I already feel like my yeast infection is gone. It works super well. When you put alcohol on a cut, it burns, but that’s how you know it’s cleaning. You have to deal with the bad to get the good, but everyone's body is different."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am an RN. Like many women, we've all had a yeast infection a time or two. I would treat mine with OTC Monistat. Sometimes I would do the 1-dose treatment or the 3-dose treatment. I've NEVER had a problem with Monistat. I would treat myself and feel relief. Well, just this week, I noticed myself getting a yeast infection and went to purchase OTC Monistat. When I tell you that I felt like my lady parts were engulfed in flames and swollen, it was the worst pain EVER. Nothing I did gave me relief from this medication. I had to wait till it cleared itself from me. I would prefer to just have my mildly irritated vagina back than to EVER use this cream again. And according to the multiple reports on this site about this product, Monistat needs to reevaluate its formula."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Now I know why my doctor advised me to use M7, not M3...! M7 is a lower strength than M3, which is 'regular strength.' The first applicator I used itched and burned like crazy within a few minutes. It was so unbearable I ended up using the bathroom to push it out and then took a shower to rinse it out. BUT...to my astonishment, the next day both itch and discharge diminished - not completely, but definitely and noticeably much less. That encouraged me to apply the second dosage. Except this time I took my sweet time pushing in the plunger. I pushed a little, then paused, and repeated until the entire dosage was applied. It took me a good 10 minutes total. There was a long continuous mild itching, which was irritating, but it did not burn. I took Benadryl to take the edge off and fall asleep. Fingers crossed..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have never in my life left a review on anything. Not Amazon, not a restaurant, not a game, nor a forum. What has Monistat changed???? I used this several times in the past, and I have never experienced this terrible burning/itching. Like seriously, if it weren’t for everyone else’s reviews, I would think I had an STD that I didn’t know about. I am on fire and trying my best not to run to the tub, turn the shower on, and hit a handstand. And wait... what’s that smell? Oh! That’s just my vagina burning to a black crisp!!! Save your cookies, ladies. I remember I used to have one twenty minutes ago!!! Seriously, just get Diflucan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've never had a yeast infection before, but I went on antibiotics for kidney stones (side note, worst experience of my life), and for the first time ever, it severely messed up my downstairs. I keep a very clean house, my door is locked at all times, the Chamber of Secrets stays closed, so when stuff hits the fan, it gets ugly. After several days of burning, itching, pain, I finally followed my mother's advice to get the 3-day Monistat syringes. I had used Vagisil previously, and even that burned, but it went away eventually. So when this started burning and itching after I used it, it was almost expected. I thought, oh okay, it'll go away. Nope. Nope. Nope. NOPE. My downstairs has become deeper downstairs. It is the worst. It is a lava pit. It is the depths of the hottest lava pit in existence. But with a colony of fire ants living in it. I don't even care if this works to fix my yeast infection, there's not a chance that I'm using this ever again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat in the past for yeast infections, and its consistency was thicker, and it was an immediate cooling sensation and relief from the YI. Now, using it today, an immediate burning sensation, it’s the worst feeling I’ve ever experienced. I had to wash it out best I could, crying the whole time. I really think they changed the ingredients and made it a different cream, and it burns now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "What are these people trying to do to us? I haven’t had a YI in a long time, but I know that I never experienced the burn like I have with the 3-day! I feel like I have a very high pain tolerance, but this was like someone was playing a sick joke on me! I’ve never burned so badly in my life! I thought it was just me until I came across this site! PLEASE DON'T USE THIS! We’re all here to warn you!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY!!! I’ve used this product for YEARS with much success - until last night! I had a mild YI (slight itch at night, thick white discharge, discomfort after peeing). I’ve obviously had a few YIs before, so I knew this was the start. I figured I would just buy the 1-day treatment and clear it up easy peasy. WRONG. They must have changed their formula because what I felt inside and out of my vagina was like fire. I inserted the cream about 11:30 last night, and less than a minute later, I felt what could have been someone dumping acid in my vagina. I’m talking the heat of flames. I used a towel to wipe excess off and ended up just counting numbers in my head to take my mind off the pain and eventually fell asleep. Thank God. This morning, I wake up, and while I’m not itching or have discomfort when I pee, the top outside of my vulva is ON FIRE!!! So here I am, writing a review as I have a cold water bottle and a fan blowing on my lady bits."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "For the price of $11.50, you too can burn your insides off. Seriously, it’s like they took the wrath of a hundred angry hornets and put it in a cream. I have NEVER felt pain like that. And I have endometriosis, so I know vag and uterus pain. Just use Vagisil. On a side note, I did not know it was possible for my labia to swell like that. Truly an impressive feat."

As everyone’s said, unbelievable burning that I’ve never experienced when using Canesten, another yeast infection medication. I turned to Google to check if this is normal. Clearly, this medication is the problem!!! I can’t believe this is on shelves."

Either tough it out for a few hours because it will help (think hydrogen peroxide where it bubbles... but fire in your vag) or 2. LADIES, GET IN THE BATHTUB AND WASH IT OUT. For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I tried the 1-day Monistat, and my vagina feels like my vagina is a burning ring of fire. I woke up in so much pain. For anyone reading this and experiencing the same thing, I showered to try to get as much out as I could, and then kept a washcloth with cold water on it for a while to soothe the burning. Then I applied some coconut oil, and after about an hour of agonizing pain, I’m left with only a mild burning sensation. Good luck, ladies :(."
