"If you hate yourself & your vagina, use this... If not, do not purchase this. I knew I had a yeast infection but was too lazy to go to the doctor & figured I would give Monistat 3 a day a go... Worst idea ever. Yesterday was night one, and 2 minutes after inserting the suppository, my vagina was on fire (the only way I can describe it is like having poison ivy and red ants in your lady parts). Had a script called in for me, and the doctor recommended I finish out the Monistat because I apparently have a 'really bad YI.' Night 2 is tonight and is just as bad as last night. I will not be doing this a 3rd night. All of the responses to this are spot on. Learn from everyone else's mistakes!!"

"I've used Monistat 3 and 7 both. I love that they're preloaded and come with cream for external relief. I keep reading about how bad it hurts and burns. And while yes, it may be a terrible feeling, this is because a yeast infection itself causes tiny microscopic rips and tears inside and around your vaginal area. The infection causes the skin to dry out and rip every time you flex any of your down there muscles. Then, the added fact that it's a high concentration of the medication that kills the fungus literally growing inside of your wooh-ha will definitely pack a punch. However, some strains may not be cleared with a 7-day treatment and may need to be treated with a higher concentration. Best of luck to everyone suffering with this tonight. Also, soaking in a hot bath with half a cup of baking soda for 15 minutes will help to relieve the itch and pain from the infection."

"I didn’t realize so many people have had so many problems with this. I did the Night 1 treatment, and it was fine. I didn’t experience the burning, but my yeast infection was minor to begin with, so that may have an effect. I’ve used Monistat before, and it works wonders. I’ve never had any problems aside from minor itching and sensitivity."

"Right after inserting the cream, I felt burning and pain to a degree that I could not have predicted or imagined, especially since this isn't my first time using it and I didn't have this reaction before. After a couple of hours, it feels somewhat better, but damn, I wanted to take my skin off just to get relief."

"After 4 weeks of antibiotics and prednisone, I developed the dreaded YI. Got the Monistat 3 to hopefully resolve the issue by Monday morning. After inserting the cream, I feel like someone has taken a steak knife to my insides and dumped a bottle of hot damn inside to rinse it out. Sure I was going to pass out, I reached for my phone to find others with similar experiences. This is more effective than the Sunday sermon. Repenting of my sins now, I've taken pills and hope to pass out soon."

"It’s currently 10:54 pm, and I have been in agony since around 10 when I inserted this fireball into my vagina. If mystery had an embodiment, it would be this. I am on fire. I am itching. I get chronic YI, so treatment is NOT new to me, and I’ve never experienced this pain ever. I have to pee, and I’m afraid to get up. I’m afraid I’ll disturb the rest of the medicine if I do. I can’t pee, fart, sit up, lay down, nothing without reigniting the agony. This is miserable. Please, save yourself. It burns so bad that laying in bed, my body is literally twitching involuntarily."

"Just put in the 3rd dose of this (I’m using the cream), and honestly, I think it's working great. When I put in the 1st dose, I felt a little tingly for about an hour and then fell asleep fine. The next morning, I was still a little itchy, but for the most part, it got a lot better. When I did my 2nd dose, I felt nothing at all (no burning or tingling), although the cream was a little bit weird to have in me (squishy feeling). The day after my 2nd dose, I felt almost 100% better, and I probably would've been fine without a 3rd dose. I’m 19, and this was my first yeast infection. I’m pretty sure my infection was a pretty mild one too. Hopefully, it cured me completely!"

"My experience has been horrible. I completed all three doses, and each time was overwhelmed by intense itching and burning. By the third dose, I was up half the night, miserable. It didn't even help with the infection. I will never be buying this again."

"Do not use this product. You will suffer and regret it. I’m in so much pain from this Monistat, I’m so disgusted with this medication. I inserted it last night, and within a half hour, I was on fire down there. I have been trying to rinse with moistened cotton pads. I took a tramadol and Zyrtec to try and deal with the pain, with no relief. This product causes such suffering. I feel like there is acid inside of me. There are no instructions on what to do if this happens, for example, douche, shower, etc. I’m beyond furious. Shame on you, Monistat, there are so many people who have been affected like this. Shame on you!"

"OMG, why did I not read reviews prior to buying this stuff? I haven’t had a yeast infection in years but knew after taking antibiotics for strep that I had developed one. Figured instead of going to the doctor, I would try Monistat 3 day since I have used their products before with no problems. Not even 2 minutes after inserting this stuff, my vagina felt like the gates of an inferno were at the door shooting fireballs at me. I literally thought I was having some crazy allergy reaction. The burning and itching have been unbearable. It's been approximately 40 minutes now, and the burning has subsided to just mild inferno! The itching is still going strong. No way am I going to go for rounds 2 and 3. I would rather deal with the mild symptoms I had than ever go through this again. My vagina hates me right now!"

"Didn't take the medicine for 2 or 3 days after reading the reviews, kept putting it off. Did it last night, woke up, the itching went down at least 90%, swelling is down 50%. I was scared of the intense itching and burning people said they got from taking this. I counted down the first hour, waited, nothing ever burned or intensified. I found laying down irritated me more, so I sat up in my bed. It helped keep the medicine in too. Seems when the cream touches your vulva, that's when it becomes irritated the most. If it came out, I wiped it off. Quickly found that religiously applying organic refined coconut oil eased the itch from the very beginning. Seems to be very effective after one day. Some people put coconut oil on a tampon, I just applied inside and out. Also, I used a tiny bit of hydrocortisone. I didn't have itch relief cream with my Monistat 3, so the next day I tried Vagisil medicated anti-itch wipes, and those burned worse for me."

"If you have bad anxiety, know that the burning is normal!! Deep breath, sweet pea! Probably take an anxiety med before or immediately after. I was super itchy in my downstairs and figured it was a yeast infection, and I chose the 3-day because 7 seemed too long, but 1 seemed unlikely. After using this, my crotch was itching and burning so badly I was on the verge of tears and was starting to free fall into a panic attack, but I was able to calm down. Seeing the reviews and that the burning is 'normal' is also helping me calm down. I gave my downstairs a rinse with some warm water and changed liners, which helped it calm after a bit, and now I am laying very still in bed with my laptop. I do believe it is helping me, but I suppose it's too soon to truly know."

"So, a friend referred me to Monistat 3 cream. This is my second day, and I want to pull my hair out from the pain and irritation. OMG, I wish I had read the reviews first. I took it at 9, it’s almost 11, and I’m still in pain. I’m trying to stick it out, hopeful that it works, but now I need something for pain."

"This is the first night using this, and my first time having a yeast infection. The suppository is fine, but the cream makes my vaginal area feel like a dragon is down there blowing fire on it. I hope these 3 days are over quickly."

"I wish I read the reviews before applying because I would have never applied it. It is painful and burning, and I don't understand how it's allowed on shelves. Please never buy this. There's a 50% chance you will feel this hot Cheeto inflammation instead of relief."

"Went out and bought a 3-day pack. I'm 5 months pregnant and was recommended by a pharmacist. Came home, and insertion alone made me burst into tears. Not sure if because I'm so raw/swollen or due to the medication. However, I bought the anti-itch/anti-burning wipes and quickly went over the affected area. That seemed to have helped with the burning and itching. I grabbed an ice pack (wrapped in a towel) and have been sitting on it, which has helped a lot! Everything is cold and numb, lol... relief to the fullest! About 45 minutes after insertion and having the ice pack numb me up, I applied the topical cream that comes with the 3-day combo pack. It's been about 2 hours, and I am not burning or itching!"

"This product burned my insides like crazy. I am very much in pain thanks to it and extremely disappointed. It is almost impossible to wash out. I tried using only part of the dosage, and my reaction was still a scorching pain."

"My husband went and got me the three-day Monistat tonight because I have been having some really bad itching. Well, I inserted it and went to bed. Less than 10 minutes later, I jumped out of bed in excruciating pain. I mean, the burning is soooooo unbearable, I am literally in tears. I sat over the toilet and started pushing and wiping with tissue and got a chunk of it out, but I'm still in much pain from the burning. I tried letting the cold shower run over and up into me, and that only helped a bit. What has happened to this brand? I have used this in the past, and all I ever felt was a bit mushy in my panties at night from the cream. I am now having mild cramps and just want to tear my whole vagina out and throw it in the garbage. I will NOT be using this again. Ever!"

"First time ever experiencing YI. My Dr. prescribed a 3-day treatment, but when I went to pick it up, they said my insurance doesn't cover it and it'll cost $375. Should've seen the look on my face. The pharmacist told me to just grab the over-the-counter ones. 1st day treatment had me SCREAMING, CRYING to GOD for help, JUMPING around all over my room like a swarm of fire ants found its way up my vagina! My brother checked on me to see what was going on. I yelled at him, saying, 'I HATE BEING A WOMAN!' And he just slowly backed up out of the room and closed my door. My 2nd day wasn't too bad. I was more prepared after finding/reading up on these reviews. I popped some ibuprofen, 2 probiotics, and 2 oxy that I had left over from a past surgery. Passed out like a baby. The next day, the itching and burning wasn't a big issue. The YI kind of cleared up. I'm on my 3rd day today. Did the same exact steps as day 2. Writing this review before I slowly doze off."

"I finished an antibiotic and normally will get a yeast infection. I used Monistat 3 for the yeast infection last night. Within 5 to 10 minutes, I was burning like I was on fire. I was up all night with no relief. By morning, it finally stopped burning and felt somewhat better. I made the mistake of using the Monistat 3 again tonight, thinking that I was better. The same thing happened again, and I find myself again in excruciating burning. I got in the bathtub and was able to finally get some slight relief. I also took some children's Benadryl and hope it will help. I am still in pain as I write this review and hopefully it will stop burning soon. I will never, ever use this product again!"

"This was horrible. The burning is so bad, and I wish I had read this feed before inserting it in me. Almost immediately after inserting this, the burning began. I've been in and out of the tub trying anything to remove it from my insides. Never use this product. I honestly don't understand why or how this is still being sold. Bathing and removing it seems to be the only thing actually helping the insane burning. NOT WORTH IT. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT."

"This burning is the worst I've ever experienced, probably my fault since I took forever before buying this. I believe it's burning because of the fungus and it's working. I will never wait take care of your YI fast."

"Honestly, I wanted to write a review too and contribute to all the fun, so I was sick and the doctors gave me amoxicillin. I hate taking amoxicillin because it gives me yeast infections, but I had to beat my sickness, so I took it anyway. Got that yeast infection, but it was worse than the other times I had it, so I decided to get some cream or something to fight it. Found this at Target and was excited to get rid of this thing! OMG. The first hour was so terrible, felt like my cookie was on fire, and the internal itching was so bad. I couldn’t stand it, so I ended up sitting in the shower and letting the steam hit my cookie, it relieved the pain, and afterwards, I was fine! Today, I didn’t feel any of my yeast infection symptoms and honestly was scared to do the second round, but you gotta do what you gotta do! Currently on my second night, I took some Tylenol an hour before, and the burning is not there, but the itching definitely is, but it's not worse than last night."

"WISH I COULD RATE 0 STARS. I've used Monistat 7 before, and it burnt my parts like hellfire, but I would gladly face that again rather than experience the absolutely UNBEARABLE itching that Monistat 3 caused. I'm glad to know that I am not alone in this experience."

"I have used this medicine several times in the past, and usually it works, but it's not worked before, and the infection came right back. I never used to have problems with yeast infections, but ever since I had my children, it seems like I get them 4 or 5 times a year, and it's miserable. I've never felt the insane itching and intense burning from this product until now. It is unbearable and makes me skeptical as to if it's actually going to get rid of this infection because this is day 2, and I feel like it's just not stopping. The only thing that has helped soothe it temporarily is baking soda made into a paste (for the outside). It burns at first, but after the burn stops, I don't have the insane itch, and it feels soothing. It usually makes it stop for several hours. I just use it on a washcloth with water and wash it away after about 60 seconds."
