Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "The first night of using Monistat 3, I had severe burning and itching right after inserting for about an hour until I fell asleep. I woke up the next morning still feeling the symptoms of my yeast infection. I was hesitant to take it the second night, but I did, and I have to say, it went in comfortably and I had no discomforts the 2nd or 3rd night. If you experience the intense burning and itching, then that means the medicine is working. It may hurt, but it gets the job done. Also, try and keep in mind that typically happy users don’t take their time to go out of their way and review things, saying how great they are; but unhappy users will most definitely find the time to post their review if they hate the product. That’s something I always keep in mind when reading reviews. I wanted to come on and share my experience so people don’t get scared away by all the horrific reviews on here lol."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Well, this is pretty much my first experience with a YI. Earlier this month, my doctor found BV and yeast under the microscope, and she gave me medicine for both. I had sex with my partner after all of my treatments and symptoms had gone, and literally, my YI came back, but it was slight burning, cottage cheese-like discharge, with no smell or no itching. So, to save me a trip, I purchased the 3-day Monistat. I took a shower, inserted the tube, and it was soothing at first. I applied the itch cream even though I didn’t have any itching. About 10 minutes later, I felt burning all over and around my vagina. It subsided maybe like 1 hour or so later, but then it started itching like crazy inside my vagina, like I wanted to itch. Now it’s calming down again. I will wait to see what my symptoms are like in the morning, but I probably won’t use this again, as it increased my YI symptoms or created symptoms that were never there in the first place."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Monistat 7 Night 2: Felt better during the day but not 5 minutes after insertion it's as if a swarm of Mosquitos and a family of chiggers decided to break bread within my vagina but were subsequently removed by an invasion of fire ants who are drunk off Fireball and like to play with matches. I'm afraid to move with disrupting the fire ants. They're an aggressive breed."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used this product last night, and after about an hour, I was in severe discomfort. The burning was like nothing I experienced before, my skin down there was on fire, really painful. I can’t believe that a medication to treat itching and burning could be so abrasive. I eventually took OTC pain meds (ibuprofen and Tylenol) and a cold compress to get to sleep. Today is better, and the original itching is basically gone. But you really have to go through the fire to get to the relief. Hope the folks at Monistat will work on a gentler formulation that would be just as effective."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "It works, but holy mother of God, this stuff itches and irritates like crazy... for the first little while. Shortly after inserting it, it starts itching/irritating like crazy. I suggest just laying down for as long as you can stand it (about an hour), and then get up to pee. When you do, a great amount of the Monistat will leak out of the vagina. Clean yourself up, take a deep breath, and prepare to feel much, much better in about 15 minutes. Not all cures are pleasant. Suck it up. This stuff works."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "BAD - BUT it gets better. There’s a trick to it. My first day and experience with this product was a nightmare. It felt like I let fire ants loose in my lady bits. I was crying with my legs up in the air, googling side effects to see what was wrong. Then I came across this board and saw everyone describing my exact horrible situation. BUT I also saw the ladies who had some good tips and said it got better. I realized I didn’t apply the medication far enough in, and I stood up to brush my teeth immediately after. Those were my two big mistakes. Tonight, day two of Monistat 7, and I pushed the applicator in further, which did give me minimal cramping. I also stuck a pillow under my hips. The key seems to be not letting this product leak out of the vaginal canal or anywhere further. I will use this product again, but I wish I knew the consequences of improper application BEFORE I started."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay, so this is my first yeast infection, and I was too embarrassed to call my doctor (which I shouldn’t have been because it’s common and okay to ask for help!!). But anyways, do NOT use any kind of Monistat product if you have sensitive skin or a low pain tolerance because it burns so much worse than the actual infection. Go talk to your doctor to see what’s the right move. I’m currently sitting on the couch with an ice pack in between my legs because I am in so much pain. I never leave reviews on anything, but I don’t want any other woman going through what I and others have gone through while using this product. I’ll be seeing my doctor real soon."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m on the 3rd night of a 3-day Monistat cream insert. I took ibuprofen before inserting the last dose - fast forward 3 hours and I literally just woke up (* I only wake up in pain with migraines, no other pain wakes me up) with a terrible itching sensation - convinced my YI is not going away because there’s no way my burning and itching (not to mention severely irritated labia) is caused by the actual medicine. Then I found this forum of reviews and wow I really wish I had read it before trying this med. I used Vagistat 3-day months ago for a different YI with no issues. Never again Monistat! If you want to be up at 2 a.m. writing a scathing review, then feel free to use this product."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I made a whole account on here to share some advice. I'm on day 1, and everyone's right, the itching's positively unbearable. But there are some things I did that helped the itching a LOT. Do not let any of this medicine out of your body. Or if it does, cold cloth, wipe it off immediately. Once this stuff gets on your outside bits, it's a whole new kind of suffering. The internal symptoms were so insignificant in comparison for me, I didn't even notice the internal itching and burning whatsoever until after I learned to basically put a tissue over the top of my vag like a sink stopper. Just wanted to share some advice that might keep someone from ripping their labia off. It's been 7 hours. I feel amazing. The initial itching is awful, I didn't have much burning myself. But after about 2 hours after applying it, I felt normal. Like I didn't have an infection at all. Definitely not excited for the next two days, but it's so worth it."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m currently pregnant and my OB recommended I try Monistat to help with my YI. I just tried it less than 30 minutes ago, and OMG the worst pain ever. I can’t handle the burning or itchiness, IDK which one because I am in so much pain and discomfort. This is the first night, IDK how I’m supposed to do it for another 6 nights. I will be calling my OB tomorrow to see if there is an alternative because this stuff is AWFUL!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I followed the directions, inserted the cream internally and externally to really cover all bases. Three minutes had gone by, and the intensity of the itching that began was like no other itching my vagina has ever itched. Being this is the first time I’m using this product, I immediately think I’m having a bad reaction, so I Google side effects. Itching is listed. I then stumbled upon the reviews, and I wish I had read these prior. Instant regret. The itching had become so severe. All I could do was focus on the itching while wiggling around on my couch trying to refrain from scratching. I was tempted to take a bath like many other reviewers had done, but I’m glad I chose to ride it out. Within the hour, the itching subsided, and I know I have the correct dose in me. So if you found yourself here like I did by having a severe itch attack after applying - THERE IS HOPE that it will subside. My itch did."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Um, I am 100% confused as to why there are no commercials on TV talking about, “If you or a loved one has been a victim of Monistat, you may be entitled to financial compensation.” How on earth is the level of pain from this product acceptable? Absolutely nothing bought on the shelf at a store should cause this much pain... I’m in tears, clenching my legs, trying to hold in my vagina because it literally feels like it’s trying to fall the heck out. This was day one, I’m not taking day two or three. I had used Monistat 1 before, and I would’ve taken an end-of-life option over the pain. Fast forward a few years to today when I thought I’d be clever and try the three, thinking it wasn’t as concentrated. No ma’am, not my vagina... never the heck again! Don’t do it, ladies, spend the copay and go see your doctor. Mine had left for the day today, and I didn’t want to go the whole weekend with the YI... probably would’ve been a better choice to just wait!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Truly would not wish this type of pain on my worst enemy. It’s currently 4 AM, and my “cookie” is on fire. I’ve been up for hours, and I can’t go back to sleep because the discomfort is so bad. I used the 3-day Monistat with hopes of it actually healing me, but I most definitely screwed up. I don’t think my yeast infection is gone, and my cookie is probably ruined forever. Not sure how this product is on shelves and also unsure how Google sites actually recommended this flame-throwing product to women. I haven’t had a yeast infection before, so I thought this type of pain was somewhat normal. Turns out Monistat is just utter garbage and wants our cookies to burn to char. If you’re thinking about using Monistat, you may as well just take some poison ivy and a match to your cookie. You’ll feel about the same."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "The first night I took this, I was fine. It itched, but I was super tired, so I fell right asleep. I am on the second night, and my goodness, I want to rip my vag out and let her air dry because my goodness this itches. It’s not too burny, it’s more itchy. It did help already, though, so I am going to power through. I wish my doctor had warned me that although it is relief EVENTUALLY, it is NOT instant relief. I wish you all the best, girls."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Have used this medication (Monistat 1) twice in the past, with no side effects. Tonight, after putting the ovule in and using the appropriate topical cream, I started to experience extreme burning sensations, 1000% worse than the yeast infection itself. It feels like the outside and inside of my vagina are on fire. If I hadn’t seen all these reviews, I would be taking myself to the hospital, as I have never experienced something like this before. This product should not be on shelves."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was on (2) antibiotics because of a toothache. The antibiotics caused a yeast infection. The day I noticed the infection was when it was painful to wipe. I went and purchased Monistat 7 because it was a low dosage over a few days, which seemed reasonable because my infection did not seem severe. I used the inserted cream 7 nights straight, refrained from sex, and it cleared by the 6th day. It is uncomfortable at night. I was very fidgety, and the topical cream I only used twice because it felt too hot on me. The first two days after treatment, my vagina still felt wonky (medicine was still leaking), but there was no pain or itch. The 3rd day after the 7-day treatment, everything is back to normal. Though super annoying, it was totally effective and worth it in my experience."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "FIRST! Let me just say I just wasted my $19. I went to the urgent care this week because I was unable to get a GYN appointment due to my doctor being fully booked. In the urgent care, they did all my STI tests and they all came back negative and was just given a Diflucan, which doesn't usually help. I took it upon myself to try Monistat for the first time and LET ME TELL YOU THAT THING WAS BURNING MY BITS OFF. I HAD to JUMP IN THE SHOWER WITH THE COLD WATER RUNNING!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "The email I just sent to the makers of Monistat: The itching and burning I am experiencing right now is excruciating. This is unacceptable. I have used Monistat products many times in the last 15 years, and I have never experienced anything like this torture. That I may have to go to my local emergency room to have my vagina flushed out is beyond ridiculous. I have never hated a brand as much as I hate Monistat right now. After reading a very long, very recent thread of women who have had similar reactions, I think it is grossly negligent of your company to say that 'mild' itching and burning may occur. The only justice in the world would be for every male executive and product developer in your company to develop crotch rot inside their penis and be forced to use this product. Their female counterparts need to go straight to somewhere bad for pocketing their pay while Monistat victims writhe in pain and discomfort. I hate you people and I plan to make it my mission to let every woman know how disgusting, useless, and harmful your products are. Do not send me any coupons as an 'We're sorry our product set your vagina ablaze with the venom of a billion tiny fire ants. Here is a discount for your next hot molten lava therapy kit.' Do not dare."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I bought Monistat 1 and read the reviews. I was so nervous to try this, but I really didn't want to go to the hospital, so I tried it anyway. The first hour was okay, but after that, oh man, it was pretty intense. Lots of itching and burning, and I just sat really still, and then when that was too much, I laid down very still... it lasted for a couple of hours, but to be honest, it was bearable. I mean, it did burn, but the infection kind of requires that, I think, lol!!! This morning had lots of discharge but no burning or itching. I'm pretty swollen there though, but this is literally the next day. I would use this again. I really don't like how uncomfortable I was for the time I was, but I'd rather take this than go to the hospital. Our bodies are different, so don't be too thrown off by negative comments."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Don't listen to all the bad reviews on this product, people obviously don't know how treatment for a fungal infection works. The worse the pain or itching after insertion or application of cream, the worse the infection. If it's really burning and itching, it just means you have a really bad infection and the medication is attacking it. Also, using the 7-day treatment may be better for really bad infections as it will not hurt as badly, it's more of a gradual treatment as opposed to the 1 or 3-day treatment."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "To begin with, I am very sensitive to all skin products. And unfortunately, I didn't read these reviews before inserting the damn Monistat egg thing. The worst thing I could have done!!! I was fine until the casing of the egg dissolved... Then it was FIRE!!! I wanted to tear my damn vulva and vagina off! I'm sitting in a bath now at 7:30 PM on a Saturday as my husband makes dinner because I can't stand still! This thing has me cursing like a sailor! I had been treating with coconut oil and was feeling much better until I inserted this little egg of a thing! I thought this might just kick this YI out for good.... I will NEVER use this product again! And yes, it should be pulled! It's absolutely awful!!! All I wanted to do tonight was enjoy a relaxing dinner with my hubby. Instead, my vagina is on FIRE!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I know Monistat 7 gets a lot of hate, but it works. The box says you may experience a mild increase in itching and burning, and I've found a way to decrease it. The first night I used it, I just lay down with a pad on, and it felt fine. But when it started to leak, the outside of my vagina felt like it was covered in termite bites. Worst case scenario, the itching subsides after an hour. I'm in the middle of my seven-day treatment, and I've found what works best is literally shoving a towel into your underwear to basically clog the leak. This product should NOT touch the outside of your vagina, despite what the box says. In the morning, if it leaks, it DOES NOT burn, it's just the initial hour. Please do not let this deter you from buying this product. My vagina was so swollen from my yeast infection I would start to cry when I wiped. The morning after my first application, no itching, no swelling, no pain. This product WORKS, just make sure not to let any leak out."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have previously used Monistat 3 before, and it worked perfectly fine for me, so I thought I would have no problem using Monistat 1 this time around. I was WRONG. Do not take the risk of buying this. I woke up to extreme burning and itching, far worse than the actual yeast infection. I wish I could go back a few hours and tell myself not to take it. Still trying to figure out how to deal with the pain."
