For Bacterial Vaginosis "Have been using the actual gel for two days, and I'm fine. A little burning and mild diarrhea at most, but that is it. I followed the directions, if you follow the directions, you should be fine. It clearly states not to have sex while using the medication."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve used this for one day, and this is my second night using it, and I feel horrible. I feel like I’m on my period, nausea, cramps, lightheaded, and dizzy. I couldn’t walk up my steps because of my cramps. All I want to do is sleep, and what’s funny is that I’ve used this medicine before, and it was never like this. I want to stop using it. 3 days left, and I don’t think I can do it."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "The first three days of this medicine were fine. The fourth day, I called off work. Felt like I had a head cold and dizziness. The fifth day, I was able to go to work but felt dizzy and had no energy. I’m glad this is my last day taking this medicine. I also noticed clumpy white discharge on the 3rd and 4th day (feels like a yeast infection), but if it is, after I’m done taking the last dose of this medicine, I’ll go ahead and buy yeast infection medicine. Really don’t want to ever take this medicine again."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I went to the doctor due to noticing a sweet smell or ammonia-type smell when I would urinate. I thought the problem was an underlying disease like diabetes. They tested me and BV is what fit. I have just finished my final dose last night out of 5 days. The thick white discharge seems to be a common thing, but the smell of my urine specifically hasn't changed, which is what led me to the doctor. Anyone else have a similar experience?"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "For the longest time I’ve battled with BV. I want to say 3-4 years now. I always thought my pH was out of whack! Which I know BV makes it out of whack too. Anyhow, I finally went to a doctor, did a test, and sure enough - BV. I got the antibiotic pill form. Worked great! And then I got it again! - It slowly started to get worse, so again, went back, got the pill medication again. And then just recently - I did a telemed call because I already knew what it was - what I was experiencing. I refuse to throw my legs in the air again and put those uncomfortable tongs inside me again. I was given a yeast infection pill and a generic version pill of the Flagyl. I noticed it didn’t do crap. It didn’t clear it up! I had another appointment, was finally offered the gel! Never knew it existed, and I'm so happy I got it! Day 4 of treatment and I noticed a major difference. By day 2! I’ve had no side effects :) 10/10"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I've been on the gel for 3 days. First diagnosed with a UTI with no growth. Finished Cipro and still had symptoms. Second round-pelvic exam & swab. Still had bacteria & yeast, so was prescribed MetroGel. No side effects, but hasn't helped my issue. Waiting for 2nd culture to come back to see if still UTI and wasn't sensitive to the Cipro and need something new. Pains from hell."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I am in my late teens, and I am currently using the MetroGel. I am on my second day of using it twice a day. I have had very little side effects. I have had a mild headache to no headache, but very faint. That is about the only side effect that I have had from using this product so far, and it is very helpful."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was diagnosed with BV. I seem to get it every 2 years, but now I'm getting symptoms. I was treated in October for BV with this gel. It is really gross. Because you're inserting gel, that all comes out at some point. Which is the worst. Having all that stuff between your legs when you're trying to go through your day. Well, I finished that, to immediately get a yeast infection. Which they don't tell you. But 9x out of 10, you get a yeast infection. So I treated that. To only still have BV when I went to my annual in December. Looks like I'll be doing this again.... At this point, I feel like it's a whole lot of suffering for nothing."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Had BV second time now, first was tablets, made me feel drunk, so I'm avoiding the tablets, and this second time I'm using the gel. All I can say is side effects are stomach ache, wind, and diarrhea. I was told to use it at nighttime for five nights, and I'm on the second night."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I had BV and a yeast infection and had no idea. I noticed something was wrong because I completely stopped getting discharge, and I used to have fertile, clear discharge and did not have it for months. After the first use, the BV smell was completely gone, and I could tell that my vagina was cleansing itself again. Lots of discharge (white and clear). I feel better already. I'm also taking probiotics with it and will take a yeast infection antibiotic after I finish the gel. I eat healthy and try to stay very clean down there, so not sure how I got it. But I've had it off and on over the past few years. 29 y/o."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I used this gel after being scared about reviews. I have lots of anxiety about certain meds due to side effects. I finally decided to give it a try. I had some side effects like minor stomach pain, but I do have IBS. This was the only side effect I had. No nausea, no headaches, etc. I do have white clumpy discharge, which is a common side effect of this med. Other than that, I'm okay! I just finished the treatment yesterday. I will update once the white clumpy discharge clears. Give this a try, guys!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I will have to give the MetroGel a 10 out of 10, simply because it worked exactly as intended and cleared up BV probably within the first two days, but I finished the 5-day course and everything is brand new and healthy. Yes, it had side effects and fortunately not nearly as extreme as some other users. Mine were: a bit of a crampy feeling starting around day 4, some of the gel coming out from down there in this thick, clearish ooze with a tinge of pink here and there (probably some kind of tissue or blood), but not enough to alarm me, starting around day 3 and usually at night. Day 5 was the worst, I had a really dull, constant cramp feeling overnight, and it went away within 24 hours since there were no more doses left. Other overall symptom was a bit of a loss of appetite, which is whatever. I read a lot of reviews, and to avoid any yeast infections or some other imbalances, I started a probiotic targeting vaginal health immediately on day 6."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Same deal as one of the other girls, was tested for UTI symptoms, cultured twice with no growth, but positive for BV, have done 2 nights of the gel so far, have experienced lack of appetite, bloating feeling, and cramps, hope it ends soon."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve used this medication twice. Once when I was around 19, and once now at 23. I don’t remember having side effects the first time, but this time I’ve got immediate intense bloating, cramping, and nausea. I’ve never felt this uncomfortable before, even during menstruation. I can’t attest to the effectiveness because both this time and last time I didn’t feel any symptoms of BV to start with, which just makes these side effects worse knowing they’re not going to lead to some kind of relief."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This is an August update from when I gave a review on 17 June 2019. After using the MetroGel, I went to get another swab and was still positive for BV. I would say the gel did help about 90%, only because I’m still experiencing the same discharge as before, just a lot less. I had a feeling I would end up using the gel, then have to take the pills after. I would suggest skipping the gel and just taking the pills. I’m confident these will clear the BV so I can get a pap smear after. I’ve birthed a baby, so all these swabs and side effects from medicine are nothing to worry about. I just want to get it over with... the joys of being a woman, lol."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Started the gel 3 days ago, had my wisdom teeth out 2 days before I got the gel for BV. My stomach started hurting and I thought maybe because I haven’t pooped since the pain pills backed me up. Pooped yesterday but had very bad pelvic cramps last night and stomach pain all day today. Also have a runny nose and cough. The stomach cramps hurt really bad, but the gel worked the first application. I do like it, but the side effects are awful. I just push through the pain."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Very painful BV infection, so I got tested and was prescribed MetroGel-Vaginal for 7 days. I accidentally had alcohol during a family dinner and felt horrible and super bloated after and wanted to puke. The discharge and smell are horrible! Very white, clumpy discharge and strong urine smell. This is natural and just your body getting rid of the nastiness. Nothing about this is pleasant, but it is what it is."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Originally I was prescribed 0.75% gel for 5 days nightly. My bacterial vaginosis did not go away. I was prescribed another 0.75% gel for 5 days. The infection was gone but I got a yeast infection. I was prescribed Diflucan. It has been 45 days and I still have a yeast infection. This medication works, but it destroyed my vaginal flora. Anytime I take this, my vaginal flora is completely destroyed for 60 days easily. If you can handle that possibility, go ahead and take it. I prefer using boric acid, vitamin C, and zinc."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I completed my 7 days. The first day I did get a fast heartbeat, but maybe it was my anxiety, so when that happened, I just lay down and relaxed and let it pass. But after that, the rest of the 6 days I just had nausea/upset tummy, but besides that, everything was good. I was worried I wasn't gonna get my period, but after the treatment, I got my period on time, so don't worry, the treatment doesn't mess up period schedule."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "A few months ago, I had BV, and it was a moderate case. My symptoms were musty smell and discharge that would soak through my pants. I took the gel, and the discharge was mostly gone, and the smell was somewhat better. After about a month, my doctor said I still had BV, but it was mild (slight discharge, and I smelled like musty flowers). I thought the gel would make the smell go away. WRONG. After using the gel, I still have BV, and now I have a TREATMENT RESISTANT YEAST INFECTION. This made my life far worse and my self-esteem even worse than it was before. The only thing that worked for me in the past is probiotics. I opened one pill and put it where the sun don't shine and didn't get BV for a year until I had a new sex partner. However, they must have sold the company or something because now the same brand doesn't work anymore, and none of the other brands work either."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Have BV Gardnerella and used the gel for 3 nights out of a 5-day prescription. Today I am experiencing extreme breast pain on both sides. Previous nights it caused pelvic pain briefly after application. I will not complete the dosage with this much pain. It did eliminate the odor. I have not been diagnosed with BV in previous years and hope it will not cause a yeast infection."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Ouchhhh. I was prescribed this for BV. I put the gel in and immediately had cramping similar to a period and a little burning. After the second night, I woke up and the outside of my vagina was raw and it itched. It gave me a yeast infection. I stopped using it. I refuse to use this ever again. Seems like it made it worse."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was also scared to take this medicine. I try not to take antibiotics unless I really, really need them. I tried natural remedies like turmeric and boric acid first, but they didn’t cut it. I had a bad case of BV. I was in a lot of pain and had burning when I peed. I thought it was a UTI, but when I had a vagina swab, they said it was BV. I finally gave in and used the gel, and I am so happy I did. When I first used it, I had really bad burning in my vagina and vulva. It was quite difficult to work, but I persevered. It felt like a painful UTI. Now finally on day 5, it seems to be really clearing up. The pain is almost gone! I have a lot of clumpy white discharge mixed in with remnants of the gel. I wish they had told me about this, but apparently it is quite normal. There aren’t a lot of pics of vaginal discharge on Google, and there should be so we can all communicate this as normal when the doctors don’t tell us what to expect. If you are prescribed this gel, please use it. It works."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "So I’ve been using the gel for 5 days now, and the only issue I’m having is the thick white discharge. At first, I had no idea that the clumpy discharge was a side effect. After doing research, it helped ease my mind. I’m hoping to be all cleared up soon. I’ve been battling BV for years, and it’s embarrassing, and I don’t like it at all."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "So last year I had my very first yeast infection and BV. Recently I started eating a bunch of probiotics since I didn’t want to have to keep taking antibiotics that were killing my good and bad bacteria. I had sex with my boyfriend and there was an odor that shouldn’t have been there. So I went to the doctor. She said we found a little amount of BV and the tiniest bit of yeast and gave me the gel. But I had told her the medicine I don’t react well to because it always puts me back with a yeast infection, which I had no symptoms of, it was just an odor. Now, day two of taking the gel, my vagina is on fire from the yeast, and now I’m actually suffering from something else now!"
