For Bacterial Vaginosis "Tried this gel for 1 night thinking it would have less side effects than in pill form. But I had a very bad experience. Within half an hour of using, my legs felt as if they were on fire mainly from my knees to feet.Got worse with aching, shooting pains up and down my legs.My head felt funny but no headache. All night I barely slept cos of the severity of the pain. The hotness did lessen, still had painful legs until mid morning, but it had spread to rest of body - a dull ache as if I had flu.Had slight blocked nose til morning as well.Felt slightly nauseous. Was itchy too all over.Felt spaced out.Suffered memory loss in day before all went away. Will not take again as am allergic to antibiotics so is probably just me.BV did feel bit better though."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Have been using the actual GEL for two days and I'm fine. A little burning and mild diarrhea at most but that is it. I FOLLOWED the directions, if you follow the directions, you should be fine. It CLEARLY states not to have sex while using the medication."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was honestly scared to try this medication with all the reviews I’ve read. I had little to no side effects. My side effects were just a little bit of cramping and discharge with a little blood. Symptoms were noticeably better. Just stay away from alcohol."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I am angry at the negative reviews that misled me and had me afraid to use the gel. I am on my 3rd night and have not had a bad experience YET. Only thing I noticed was a slight cramp (barely noticeable), slightly metallic taste in mouth, and a little clumpy white discharge the next day (vagina cleansing itself out from the medicine working…not yeast infection). No burns, no nausea, no sickness, no loss of appetite, and no burning. I even skipped drinking wine/alcohol to make sure it didn’t increase side effects, although it’s less likely to happen with the gel vs the pill."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I had BV and a yeast infection and had no idea. I noticed something was wrong because I completely stopped getting discharge, and I used to have fertile clear discharge, but I did not have it for months. After the first use, the BV smell was completely gone, and I could tell that my vagina was cleansing itself again. There was lots of discharge (white and clear). I feel better already. I'm also taking probiotics with it and will take a yeast infection antibiotic after I finish the gel. I eat healthy and try to stay very clean down there, so I'm not sure how I got it. But I've had it off and on over the past few years. 29 y/o."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I used this gel after being scared about reviews. I have lots of anxiety about certain meds due to side effects. I finally decided to give it a try. I had some side effects like minor stomach pain but I do have IBS. This was the only side effect I had. No nausea, no headaches, etc. I do have white clumpy discharge which is a common side effect to this med. Other than that I'm ok! I just finished the treatment yesterday. I will update once the white clumpy discharge will clear. Give this a try guys!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I used the MetroGel vag gel for 5 nights as instructed. The smell went away for like a day or 2 but the discharge remained with its abnormal color (brownish). After having sex with my boyfriend, 2 nights after using the gel, the smell came back even worse. I was bloated and had awful pain and burning sensation in my lower abdomen. I honestly don't trust that this gel works. Instead I feel like it just made things even worse because I noticed there was some bleeding coming out as well."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "So last year I had my very first yeast infection, and bv. Recently I started eating a bunch of of probiotic since I didn’t want to have to keep taking antibiotic that were killing my good and bad bacteria. I had sex with my boyfriend and there was an odor that shouldn’t been there. So I went to the dr. She said we found a little amount of bv and the tiniest bit of yeast and gave me the gel . But I had told her the medicine I don’t react well to because it always puts me back with a yeast infection which I had no symptoms of it was just a odor now day two of taking gel my vagina is on fire from the yeast and now I’m actually suffering from something else now !"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "The first three days of this medicine was fine the fourth day I called off work. Felt like I had a head cold and dizziness the fifth day I was able to go to work but felt dizzy and no energy I’m glad this is my last day taking this medicine. Also noticed clumpy white discharge on the 3rd and 4th day. (feels like a yeast infection) but if it is after I’m done taking the last dose of this medicine I’ll go ahead and buy yeast infection medicine . Really don’t want to ever take this medicine again."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve used this for one day and this is my second night using it and I feel horrible. I feel like I’m on my period, nausea, cramps, lightheaded and dizzy. I couldn’t walk up my steps because of my cramps. All I want to do is sleep, and what’s funny is that I’ve used this medicine before and it was never like this. I want to stop using it. 3 days left and I don’t think I can do it."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This is a August update from when I gave review in 17 June 2019. After using the Metrogel I went to get another swab and still positive for BV. I would say the gel did help about 90% only because I’m still experiencing the same discharge as before just a lot less. I had a feeling I would end up using the gel then have to take the pills after. I would suggest skipping the gel and just take the pills. I’m confident these will clear the BV so I can get a pap smear after. I’ve birthed a baby so all these swabs and side effects from medicine are nothing to worry about I just want to get it over with..the joys of being a woman lol"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "A few months ago I had BV and it was a moderate case. My symptoms were musty smell and discharge that would soak through my pants. I took the gel and the discharge was mostly gone and the smell was somewhat better. After about a month my doctor said I still had bv but it was mild (slight discharge and I smelled like musty flowers) I thought the gel would make the smell go away. WRONG. After using the gel, I still have bv and now I have a TREATMENT RESISTANT YEAST INFECTION. This made my life far worse and my self esteem even worse than it was before. The only thing that worked for me in the past is probiotics. I opened one pill and put it where the sun don't shine and didn't get bv for a year until I had a new sex partner. However they must have sold the company or something because now the same brand doesn't work anymore and none of the other brands work either."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "For the longest time I’ve battled with BV. I wanna say 3-4 years now. I always thought my pH was out of whack! Which I know BV makes it out of whack too. Anyhow, finally went to a doctor did a test and sure enough - BV. I got the antibiotic pill form. Worked great! And then I got it againnn! - It slowly started to get worse so again, went back got the pill medication again. & then Just recently - I do a telemed call because I already knew what it was - what I was experiencing I refuse to throw my legs in the air again and put them uncomfortable tongs inside me again lol was given a yeast infection pill, and a generic version pill of the Flagyl. I noticed it didn’t do crap. It didn’t clear it up! Do another appt. was finally offered the gel! Never knew it existed & I'm so happy I got it! Day 4 of treatment and I noticed major diff. By day 2! I’ve had no side effects :) 10/10"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I am in my late teens and I am currently using the metro gel. I am on my second day of using it twice a day. I have had very little side effects. I have had mild headache to no headache but very faint. That is about the only side affect that I have had from using this product so far and it is very helpful"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I will have to give the Metro-gel a 10 out of 10, simply because it worked exactly as intended and cleared up BV probably within the first two days but I finished the 5 day course and everything is brand new and healthy. Yes, it had side effects and fortunately not nearly as extreme as some other users. Mine were: a bit of crampy feeling starting around day 4, some of the gel coming out from down there in this thick clearish ooze with a tinge of pink here and there (probably some kind of tissue or blood) but not enough to alarm me, starting around day 3, and usually at night. Day 5 was the worst, I had really dull constant cramp feeling overnight and it went away within 24 hours since there were no more doses left. Other overall symptom was a bit of a loss of appetite which is whatever. I read a lot of reviews and to avoid any yeast infections or some other imbalances, I started a probiotic targeting vaginal health immediately on day 6."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was diagnosed with BV. I seem to get it every 2 years, but now I'm getting symptoms. I was treated in October for BV with this gel. It is really gross. Because you're inserting gel, that all comes out at some point. Which is the worst. Having all that stuff between your legs when you're trying to go through your day. Well I finished that, to immediately get a yeast infection. Which they don't tell you. But 9x out of 10 you get a yeast infection. So I treated that. To only still have BV when I went to my annual in Dec. Looks like I'll be doing this again.... At the point, I feel like its a whole lot of suffering for nothing."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Very painful BV infection so I got tested and was prescribed MetroGel-Vaginal for 7 days. I accidentally had alcohol during a family dinner and felt horrible and super bloated after and wanted to puke. The discharge and smell are horrible! Very white clumpy discharge and strong urine smell. This is natural and just your body getting rid of the nastiness. Nothing about this is pleasant but it is what it is."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve used this medication twice. Once when I was around 19, and once now at 23. I don’t remember having side effects the first time, but this time I’ve got immediate intense bloating, cramping, and nausea. I’ve never felt this uncomfortable before, even during menstruation. I can’t attest to the effectiveness because both this time and last time I didn’t feel any symptoms of BV to start with, which just makes these side effects worse knowing they’re not going to lead to some kind of relief."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I went to the doctor due to noticing a sweet smell or ammonia type smell when I would urinate. I thought the problem was underlying disease like diabetes. They tested me and BV is what fit. I have just finished my final dose last night out of 5 days. The thick white discharge seems to be a common thing but the smell of my urine specifically hasn't changed which is what led me to the doctor. Anyone else have a similar experience?"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Started the gel 3 days ago, had my wisdom teeth out 2 days before I got the gel for BV, my stomach started hurting and I thought maybe because I haven’t pooped since the pain pills backed me up, pooped yesterday but had very bad pelvic cramps last night and stomach pain all day today. Also have runny nose and cough. The stomach cramps hurt really bad but the gel worked the first application. I do like it but the side effects are awful. I just push through the pain."
