For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using Janumet 50/1000 for the past 2 years. No side effects, and my blood sugar levels and HbA1c are below 7, and I am quite satisfied with the medicine. But the medicine is very expensive, it is on the higher side. The manufacturer must reduce its price in India, and it should be brought under the price-controlled diabetic drugs list."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My husband went on Janumet, and I noticed one day that he was slurring his words. I thought since he had pancakes with sugar-free syrup he had a reaction to the syrup. He went off the medication, and the slurring stopped."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My body had developed resistance to sitagliptin after 45 days of use. Sitagliptin worked fine with my body for 40-45 days and became ineffective later. My doctor switched me to glipizide/glimepiride, which works with my body effectively even after 1 year of use, along with a metformin combination."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Janumet for about a month now, and for the last couple of days I've been having severe throat pain. The pain is so severe I'll have to see a doctor tomorrow, and I've already stopped taking it for two days now. It has worked well to reduce my blood sugar, but the side effects are just too much to bear."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Janumet/Januvia is toxic poison! Stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea is pancreatitis caused by the poison pill! Janumet inflames your pancreas and causes your blood sugar to run high! All the aches and pains, stiff neck, headaches, and anything else happening to you is from the poison pill! If you are taking the poison and it’s working for you, be patient, you will have the horrible side effects soon! Merck should be shut down."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medicine raised my blood glucose from 170 to over 600. Also, when my A1c was taken, they just put a 13 on it. After stopping it, the blood glucose went down to 390, and I've been trying to lower it since. The only other medicine that caused this reaction was Avandimet. The common ingredient was metformin."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm taking 500/50 mg. I'm 24 years old, this is my 7th day with Janumet, and it has helped lower my sugar levels, but I have an upset stomach, and before I go to bed, I feel a little dizzy (my sugars are okay though). I'm going to keep on taking the pill for a few more weeks."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had blood glucose levels in the 400s and an A1C of 12.9. I have started a ketogenic diet of 20 grams of carbs per day, and I do 100 squats every 2 days, and now I am pre-diabetic with an A1C of 6.1, and my glucose is around 105 and sometimes normal around 73. I take Janumet 50/1000 XR twice per day, which helps tremendously until my diabetes goes away. Keto will be for the rest of my life, however."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am very much satisfied with the progressive action of Janumet 50/1000. My sugar, which was above fasting - 200 & pp was 330, after taking Janumet it came down to fp - 96, pp - 137. I take it twice a day, since my glucose levels are keeping normal, I will reduce the dose to 1500 per day."

For Type 2 Diabetes "What a disaster. All kinds of side effects. Dangerous, actually. The day my GP put me on Janumet, I felt weird. One month later, I’m confused, have a rash, headache, fatigued, listless, and just general malaise. Off Janumet and feel better right away...."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking Janumet for a week, and it isn't working at all. I was on Metformin (1000 mg/2 day) and Lantus (40 units at night). My sugar levels were good. Now my fasting is around 169! Only once this past week have I seen my sugar level below 120. Looks like I will have to go back to Lantus and Metformin."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have had nausea, headache, and dizziness almost daily since taking Janumet. Thinking my body would adjust, I kept taking it for about 6 months. Since I've been off of it for 2 weeks, the nausea, headache, and dizziness have stopped. I will have to get 'real' with myself and do diet and exercise."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just started this medication as prescribed by my doctor. It may work for some, but for myself just after one week, I have horrible side effects of upset stomach, nausea, severe muscle ache, and night sweats. I felt like I was doing chemotherapy all over again. Be very careful with this medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Janumet 50-1000 for over 3 years. It is very expensive but does lower my A1C. I also take glimepiride. About 3 months ago, I went on a diet from 334 lbs when my blood sugars and blood pressure were starting to get high. The diet helped tremendously in lowering both. BP is now 120/70 instead of 160/90, and my A1C last taken was 5.1, down from 7.6. I am concerned about the cost, and I am starting to half-dose to 1 tab a day to extend my insurance coverage. The main reason is that I am continuing the diet for another 180 days, and I am not eating that much. About 1600 calories a day. So far my BGLs have been 100 or lower, so I will wait and see."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2, 7 weeks ago. A1C was 12.5. :(. I was prescribed Janumet 50/1000. So far, my daily fasting glucose is between 90 and 110. The side effects have been minimal. I have been watching my carbs and sugars. I am 69 and have been trying to adjust to retirement. On Medicare, the price of this drug is astronomical. Trying to adjust to a fixed income and paying such high prices for medicine is elderly abuse. Merck should be regulated. Getting old and being at the mercy of these drug companies should not be tolerated. This is unsustainable. I will have to find an alternative. Perhaps Metformin."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was taking FORXIGA for more than 3 months, and my blood sugar after any meal was always around 180-200. I was not happy, so I changed doctors. She prescribed me JANUMET, which I took for the first time this morning after breakfast, and my blood sugar is 126. I'm happy."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have taken Janumet 50/1000 once a day for 13 years with no side effects. Then the doctor felt the dosage should be increased (my A1C is 7.8), so upped the dosage to 50/1000 twice a day. I am having intense heartburn, indigestion at night, watery diarrhea in the morning."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Janumet for 3 weeks. My glucose levels went from an average of 160 down to an average of 108 and going lower each day. I have never gone too low. I take two 50-500 mg tablets a day with food. I haven't experienced any major side effects. I had a mild stomach ache once or twice. I used a coupon to lower the cost to just $5. The coupon only works for 12 months, and you have to have insurance and not be using Medicare. After 12 months, I guess I will either be able to stop taking any medicine or will switch to something else."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I previously took Janumet while I was working full-time and had company insurance. It cost me nothing and worked terrifically - no side effects, and A1C was always below 6. I retired and acquired Medicare and UnitedHealthCare. It costs $342 for 90 days, and there is no help from the pharmaceutical company (Boehringer Ingelheim) with cost assistance."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just started taking Janumet 1000 mg yesterday. Luckily, my daughter, who studies medicine at university, read the instructions. I had a headache, which she said was low blood sugar. After I ate something, the headache disappeared. I have had severe diarrhea, though, both nights, OK in the morning???"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Metformin for 20+ years, and after the last A1c test, the doctor put me on 50/850 Janumet plus FORXIGA. I noticed a rash on my body and need to scratch until bloody (annoying). However, not sure which medicine of the two new ones is making me scratch my body from top to down. I'm planning to see the doctor next week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The first week was awful, I have acid reflux and it combined and made it terrible since I was also doing a diet change. Once that was over, however, I didn't have any more symptoms. The first week I was very nauseous, a little light-headed, and a bit more tired than usual. My insurance covered it twice, but after that has refused. I did lose 15+ pounds, so if you really wanna lose weight, this pill would help quite a bit, lol. Overall, I feel comfortable with it, I really wish my insurance would let me keep taking it."
