For Asthma "My daughter was prednisone dependent for the past few years due to severe asthma. She was on 8 puffs of ventolin Q2 at one point for weeks, even after a course of prednisone. That in itself should tell you how out of control it was. She has been on Nucala for 4 months now and it has been an absolute miracle. She does not need any inhaled steroids or even Ventolin anymore. I mean ZERO. She has felt this level of relief about 2 weeks after her first injection. I cannot rave about this medication enough. But note that this is targeted for a very small subset of asthma patients. This will not help the majority of people suffering from asthma."

For Asthma "Nucala works as intended keeping me from very bad exacerbations. Side effects are a bit tough for me as I feel tired and experience flu like symptoms. I tend to get more chest infections, like 6 a year vs 1 a year. Maybe its the medicine interaction in my lungs causing more sensitivity to the cold. I guess that's better than the alternative emergency room visit due to severe asthma."

For Asthma "I have adult eosinophilic asthma. Never had asthma as a kid. After receiving my first injection of Nucala 2 weeks later I had an anaphylactic shock, but I was told it wasn't the nucala. Had injection #2, and 1 week later and again little over two weeks had 2 anaphylactic shock, but according to the Drs it wasn't the Nucala. After my third injection I was fine no side effects. 4 weeks later I received my 4th shot I had an anaphylactic shock 7 hours later and was hospitalized and intubated. After I pulled through I quit taking Nucala. I was eventually charged 11 thousand dollars for refusing to take the 6th dose. Gotta love the VA health care system. Nucala works for some and I'm glad it can give those who respond well the relief they deserve. Just didn't work for me."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have only been using Nucala for 4 months but the improvement has been incredible. My breathing has been so much better. I no longer need prednisone and I have reduced my inhaler use immensely. Side effects on occasion are some mild back and joint pain."

For Asthma "Nucala makes it so difficult to get the injection that by the time you find a facility that will do it your so worn out you give up. And I have insurance that will cover it. Why is it that dr. offices have to enrol in a prepay program to get the drug. If it was that great they wouldn't need to so that. Scam."

For Asthma "I started with nucala and it worked for 2 months. I'm on my 6th Month and I've noticed it stopped working. Also ..2 weeks before I'm due for another injection...my body feels it. It will work for like a week..and then I'm back to steroids...breathing treatments. Kinda feel like giving up. I don't know if I have to be on it longer or not. No one answers me."

For Asthma "I have a history of asthma. In 2017 exposed to black mold. My asthma went into overdrive. I coughed non stop for 2 years. No medications helped stop cough. Started Nucala in June 2020. My cough was gone in about 2 months. It has been wonderful to have my life back. But since I started using Nucala I have developed inflammatory arthritis. Its horrible and very painful. I did not associate it with Nucala until I read the reviews. I am worried if I stop Nucala, will my asthma symptoms come back? Is it actually causing my arthritis to go into overdrive? Plan ask dr about stopping Nucala to see if it might stop increasing arthritis."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "I have Churg Straus and have been hospitalized three times before being diagnosed. This drug has saved my life, if only not having to take prednisone. Dosage I have taken for almost three years is 300 ml every 28 days, with no negative side effects. Blood tests reveal no eosinophils at the end of four weeks, and I always feel much better after the injections. Sometimes I get tired after the injections but I don’t consider it a negative."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "Nucala has made a positive contribution to my life. Emergency room visits and three hospitalizations are in the past once I started Nucala every 28 days with three injections totaling 300 ml. All the other symptoms have not come back and my asthma is controlled. I am grateful for the team of doctors that prescribed Nucala."

For Asthma "I have been using Nucala for 18 months now and it has genuinely been transformational for me. My asthma was gradually getting worse and I was using four different inhalers plus Montelukast and an antihistamine to control the grip that asthma had on me. I had big improvements within weeks of taking Nucala and my asthma scores each month are now usually all zeros. Where I used to struggle to get to the top floor of my town house, I’m now able to regularly visit the gym and have got my running up to 3k without rest, aiming for 5k and it’s my tired legs holding me back, not my breathing. I don’t think this automatically works for everyone, I was lucky it worked for me but there are other biologics if this one fails for you."

For Asthma "I have found it great for breathing but I developed huge blisters on my feet and now I have an ear problem for over 4 weeks. No one can help me as we don't know if it is due to this drug, which I believe it is as nothing has cured it."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have been having monthly Nucala injections for about seven years now, after previously suffering with severe asthma and bronchiectasis. I have never smoked once in my whole life. The effects of the Nucala were a wonderful relief, almost like a miracle. I was able to live a normal life, except if I caught flu or a bad cold. I do not know what has happened to cause these chest problems to become suddenly so severe in the space of one month - wheezing, coughing up every 30 minutes through the night, and breathlessness, even though I am on steroids and antibiotics. I just hope and pray that after my next Nucala injection, I will be well again."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have had severe asthma for most of my adult life . Despite oral and inhaled steroids my asthma was poorly controlled . Three years ago I began treatment with Nucala and my condition has improved significantly. After the first dose an improvement occurred and now my health is much better than it was 7 years ago when due to ill health I was forced to take medical retirement. This drug has worked so well for me and I'm so grateful to be given it ."

For Hypereosinophilic Syndrome "Nucala has definitely regulated my eosinophils. However, my asthma was still causing me discomfort. I ended up having to take Tezpira as well. My joint pain and back pain have been miserable. My strength and endurance are all but gone. I may have to change careers. Not sure what to do."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "I've been on Nucala for almost a year now. I did initially notice fatigue and hair loss, but my doctor didn't seem to think it was related and was more due to work stress, however that has all passed now. I will say that I went from uncontrollable coughing and being unable to breathe after doing minor things (like walking), and now I am inhaler free! Overall, I have had a good experience so far."

For Asthma "Did my fourth monthly injection and about 12 hours afterwards developed a burning, itching rash with raised welts at the injection site. This never happened before so I took benadryl and have been icing it. Nucala worked amazing the first month and I felt like I got my life back, but it has not been controlling my severe eosinophilic asthma since. It's been a slow decline from day one, This injection site reaction is very concerning"

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "I have had asthma on and off for 60 years. Last year a blood test showed Eosinophilic Asthma which made me eligible for Nucala. This is subsidised by the Australian Government. Over the years I no longer responded to prednisone or inhalers and was very glad that Nucala worked for the first 3 months. I felt like a new woman and my respiratory specialist was overjoyed that at last something worked. But after another 2 months I no longer had any benefit for my breathlessness. I am due for injection No. 6 next week, so I will see if I respond again favourably. I had no side effects."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "Had great results initially. No Xopenex! 4 months ago delivery changed to pre prepared shots packaged by manufacturer instead of being mixed by pharmacists on site after I arrived. Health deteriorated for 4 months, from 20 minutes on the treadmill to tough 5 minute walks and oxygen at night. Shot can be delivered from hospital about 2 miles away any time from hours to day or weeks. Not sure if that is the problem. Comments?"

"I’ve only had 1 dose of Nucala and it made me feel lightheaded and made my blood pressure drop to 91/60. I still had to stay on the steroids during my relapse, but I’m still hopeful. The plan is to complete lot be off of the steroids and have my CEP in remission. If you also have Chronic Eosinophilic Pneumonia, I would love to compare stories since we are so rare."

For Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis "On Nucala ~5 years. for Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA). EGPA manifests like asthma, I suspect is more nuanced. Close enough! I have only used a month-long steroid inhaler to get a handle on a rare extreme seasonal flare-up 2x during the past ~5 yrs. Source of any side effects hard to attribute because they require going off meds to narrow true cause. That is not practical for me. Skin rashes preceded first injections by months & about 2 yrs of inconclusive dermatology investigations before it abated. Recurs occasionally. Rash vaguely resembles early shingles & I can’t say its the Nucala, but may be a component. A general malaise during autumn & winter is common (in my experience). This might be EGPA-related, boosting prednisone for 2 weeks sets things right. I am reactive to prednisone & has its own downside. Currently: More freq aches/back pains this year. Covid shutdown = poor muscle tone could be exacerbating it as much as any drug."

For Asthma "I'm 64, was put on disability at 62 due to severe cough asthma and reflux. Prednisolone helped a bit, but a skeleton X-ray showed severe loss of bone structure. Was given first Dupixent for 3 months, no improvement, then Nucala. I've been on it every 4 weeks since. Asthma and cough are gone, but I produce a lot of snot and have some hair loss. All in all, so far I give Nucala 9 out of 10 in my personal opinion. PS. Still use Flutiform inhalation in the morning, and I have some issues with hypertension and prostate that I medicate with pills and yearly check-up (Norway national healthcare system)."
