For Bowel Preparation "Worked exactly as it said it would and what my GI said would happen. Didn’t mind the taste (just held my breath since 90% of taste is air going over taste buds). Worked after 45 minutes, and most of the action was on the first dose, which I took at 4:45 PM. 2nd dose was at 2:45 AM, and I was able to get some sleep in between bouts. Ran yellow liquid at the end (which is normal since bile is the only thing left at that point in you). Was a very clean prep according to my GI. No nausea at all. And I returned to normal the next day after I got more in me. No bloating or discomfort like I had with PEG. CRC (colorectal cancer) is the most preventable yet least prevented form of cancer. No reason to not get screened if you are eligible. You miss 100% of everything you don’t look for."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed this for colonoscopy prep. I got on here just to see how long it would take to start working, and all the reviews got me so stressed! It was no worse than drinking a bottle of magnesium citrate. Pour the 6 oz bottle into the 16 oz cup, added about 5 oz of Sprite and 5 oz of Gatorade. Three good guzzles and it was down. Finished 2 more doses of water within 30 min, and it started to work. Walking around between trips to the toilet helped with bloating. About the time that things started to settle down, I had to take the 2nd dose. Went down the same way. Started at 1 pm and finally felt safe to shower about 9 pm. Y’all had me all worked up about taste, high blood pressure, etc. All I can say is that it probably is more unpleasant for some. But don’t freak out by what everyone puts here... I think reading everyone’s bad experiences, for me, was more stressful than the entire process and procedure combined!"

For Bowel Preparation "The risk for this prep is too high! Nausea/vomiting are listed as both a bad and general side effect. There's little indication of the difference. Almost 30 hours after starting the prep, I ended up in the hospital with a sodium count near critical levels. The colonoscopy was successfully performed 16 hours after prep started. Continuing nausea prevented adequate replenishment of fluids & electrolytes post-procedure. NEVER AGAIN!"

For Bowel Preparation "The taste is not good, but I found this easier than Mag Citrate. I had no pain, just lots of fluid output. I was very worried about getting cleaned out, but it did the trick. I had yellow liquid output at the end, which is normal. I told the doc I was worried about being cleaned out enough, and she said, “Don’t worry. I have a power wash.” That relaxed me. Anyhow, it’s a miserable process, but just go in knowing it’s not fun, but the alternative sucks if you have something that needs fixing up there. I put this off for a decade, which wasn’t smart. Anyhow, Suprep is not pleasant, but mixing with Gatorade and chasing with cold water and hard candy helps. My results were normal, and I’m thankful for that and insurance that pays for this procedure. Good luck. You will feel so happy afterward! Focus on that."

For Bowel Preparation "I read a lot of the experiences on here. I will admit I got freaked out by a lot of them. However, this prep was no big deal. I mixed a packet of True Lime and True Lemon in with the Suprep and added the water. Drank it in 2 minutes with a straw. It didn’t taste bad at all. My only complaint with this whole thing is how much liquid you have to drink. My belly was sloshing all night. Other than that, it worked great!"

For Bowel Preparation "To those obsessively looking through reviews before prepping like I was, don't worry! I read some bad reviews and was terrified, but the whole experience was easier than I thought. The Suprep does not taste good, but it's not as bad as I expected. Per my doctor's advice, I refrigerated the Suprep and mixed it with cold water to help the taste. It tasted somewhat like a sweet cough syrup, but more bitter, with a grape aftertaste. Getting it cold takes away the saltiness. Like other reviewers have said, get a lemon to bite down on after each drink, it gets the taste out of your mouth instantly! The 'emptying' started about 20 min after drinking, I didn't have any nausea or cramping at all."

For Bowel Preparation "Easier to consume the amount required compared to the previous method, which required drinking a huge amount the night before (difficulty doing that one). I agree the taste is not the greatest. I dabbed my finger in hot Chinese mustard and coated my tongue afterward to get rid of the aftertaste. Do whatever works for you. I did not experience chills, excessive bloating, or pain, just a full feeling. It started to work in about 1 hour. I started at 6 PM and was able to go to bed about 10 PM without the need to go again. I repeated the process at about 5:30 AM and left the house at 8:30 for the clinic, with no problems with diarrhea. All in all, it wasn't that difficult or unpleasant. Mental attitude is a big factor."

For Bowel Preparation "OMG! Although 60, I avoided a colonoscopy due to the horror stories, but I knew I needed one, so here goes. I ate a light breakfast and some soup for dinner. I started the prep two hours later. Two hours afterwards, I literally had to go to the bathroom every five minutes for two hours. Then it was time for the second one. I was up for another 4 hours at the second track meet. I don't know what other preps are like, but this was god-awful ugly. My colonoscopy went well, and my doctor said that I did a fabulous job cleaning out my colon. A day later, my stomach is still nauseous."

For Bowel Preparation "The Suprep is not that horrible tasting. Dilute it as instructed, chill it, drink through a straw. The results are as expected. I had no cramping. One suggestion: put on a dab of petroleum jelly every time you use toilet paper. Wear your fitness tracker to add to your 10,000 steps."

For Bowel Preparation "I have tasted toothpastes that are worse than this. Cannot understand all the negative comments. I found Suprep to be an 'okay' taste, not the greatest taste but certainly far, far from the worst. It worked as advertised. Took the day-before dose at 6:00 PM. It started to work at about 6:20 with a mild bowel movement. The movements increased in intensity but only to the point similar to intestinal flu but without the cramping. Just maintain a close proximity to the bathroom. This went on for about three hours and then tapered off during the fourth hour. Next morning, 6:00 AM, took the second dose. Similar results, but BM was clearer and clearer each time. This also lasted about 3 - 4 hours. Taking this treatment to determine if I have colon cancer is far better than the challenges I might face if I do not have a colonoscopy and actually do end up with colon cancer. Buck up 'ol mates...thank the good Lord for intelligent scientists, nurses, and doctors. We live with blessings."

For Bowel Preparation "I was initially worried I was going to be up all night on this stuff because of some of the reviews on here, but it wasn't terrible. The taste wasn't a huge deal - drink it cold and with a straw, and you'll be fine. It's definitely not a margarita, but it's not the worst thing I've had to drink. The first round took effect in 15-20 minutes or so. I felt like it started to slow down after about 2 hours of intermittent going, with a few more trips to the bathroom between hours 2-3. Same in the morning. Pro tip: Don't sit on the toilet the whole time, your legs will start falling asleep. But don't go far. Pro tip: Don't trust a fart. It's not a fart."

For Bowel Preparation "Like previous posters, I had focused on negative reviews and was terrified as this was my first prep. At 3 PM, I took my first dose. I mixed my prep with cold water and refrigerated it before taking. I had read the lemon slice trick a few times, so I had some on hand. I took it down in three large gulps and didn't have any problems. I drank the next 32 ounces of water with ease. About 30 minutes later was my first movement. That dose had me in and out of the bathroom for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The second dose I repeated at 11 PM, same exact thing. I was able to sleep from 1:30 AM until leaving the house at 6:30 AM. I worried for nothing. All finished and results were just fine!"

For Bowel Preparation "This stuff is definitely a lot better than having to drink a gallon jug of liquid. That's what my doctor first prescribed me, and I said 'nope, have bad memories of that stuff.' Luckily, it was changed to Suprep. I was a little late taking my first dose, which didn't end up being till 9 PM. I took the second dose at 3 AM. The first dose wasn't bad, horrible taste even with lemonade mix, but it was tolerable with a chaser of water. I was prescribed Zofran just in case of nausea from this, so that helped a lot. I was on the toilet within 20 minutes, and I was pretty much shooting out clearer liquids an hour later. I made sure to be on a low-fiber diet for a couple of days before the clear liquid day, plus I'm on Linzess, and that gives me daily diarrhea. The second dose was hell, and I only drank a little over half of it. It still did the job just fine, looked like yellow pee coming out my butt from the start."

For Bowel Preparation "This is going to be my first colonoscopy tomorrow at 11 AM. It’s been two hours since I drank the solution, and it is working. I am basically reading a magazine on the toilet, and I don’t dare get off. So the taste is not the greatest, but it isn’t the worst thing in the world. I was scared from all the comments about how bad it tastes. Just make sure it’s cold, add some ice after you add the cold water. I used a straw and would take big drinks and then wash it down with a mango slushy I got from Sonic. It tastes like a salty cherry drink. Again, I do not think it’s that bad. Don’t let these comments worry you. Besides, it could save your life."

For Bowel Preparation "These people are worse than my 4-year-old taking medicine. I mixed it, chugged the 16 ounces of grape, salty drink, and then chewed on a lemon. Honestly, these people had me all worked up, and the stuff tasted like a bad mixed drink."

For Bowel Preparation "So, after staying up all night reading all these reviews, I was absolutely DREADING drinking this stuff. Honestly, it tasted bad but not to the point where you can’t handle it. I chased each sip with water that was mixed with Crystal Light lemonade. I didn’t experience any cramping or anything like that. As for the nausea, I took a Zofran an hour before each dose, so I didn’t really experience any. I went to the bathroom quite frequently, finally got to bed at about midnight and slept through until 7 AM, then was up using the bathroom again. I will say this - wipe with Preparation H wipes each time you use the restroom and put Vaseline or Preparation H cream down there each time you use the restroom. Drinking the Suprep through a straw really helped out. Today is the day of the procedure, never done anything like this before, so quite nervous! Hope this helps somebody!"

For Bowel Preparation "I was dreading this, but I have to say it was not as bad as I was expecting. Your doc will probably give you a tip list...read it! Use cold water, Crystal Light (I used the lemonade flavor), a straw, and hold your nose. Then suck on a lemon or lime. I am a pretty healthy eater and followed directions regarding foods to watch/eliminate in the days prior to this. I think this helped tremendously! I ate a light dinner the night before prep started as well. The Suprep started to work in about an hour and lasted about 2 hours. I was able to get some sleep but had to get up at 3 AM for round 2 as I had a 7:30 arrival. I had no issues/side effects."

For Bowel Preparation "I was so scared of the bowel preparation. I gag when I have to gargle with salt water! So I gathered up my courage and took the first bottle of Suprep. It smells like cherry cough syrup, but believe me, it doesn't even have a hint of fruit flavor. It tastes like clear salt water. But I was able to do it! I held my nose and drank as much as I could with each gulp. In between gulps, I would eat a spoonful of lemon Italian ice, which cut the taste (highly recommend this). It took about six or seven gulps to get it down, and then it works pretty quickly. If I can do it, anyone can! I wasn't looking forward to the next dose, but at least I knew I could do it. It's the best prep out there."

For Bowel Preparation "This stuff will clean you out like an auger. It is incredibly effective and does exactly what it is designed to do. When the directions are properly followed in the manner prescribed, it provides an outstanding cleanse of the digestive system. Also, it tastes like bile mixed with poison berries. If hatred has a flavor, this is it. Did I dread being gassed into unconsciousness, having a robot make five incisions in me and drag out a section of my gut? Not as much as I dreaded taking the second dose of this stuff. Is it the Underworld's Kool-Aid? No doubt. Will you question yourself? Most certainly. But does it work? Absolutely."

For Bowel Preparation "1st time caller here. The taste was not what I expected. Everyone I talked to told me that it's gonna taste horrible. With much anticipation and hesitation, I took the drink around 6 PM, and to my surprise, it wasn't half bad. I could even see mixing it with some rum, and it might make quite the drink. I didn't do that, but it was just a thought. Anyway, it kicked in around 6:40 PM, and it's now 8 PM, and I'm still on the pooper. I've just been reading and surfing on the net, and it's now seeming to slow down... This stuff sure cleans you out. I didn't eat all day except for some water and chicken broth. Works good! Wish me luck tomorrow on my procedure. God bless you all!"

For Bowel Preparation "This is by far the best colon prep I've used, having undergone 3 other colonoscopies. I drank the first dose in about 5 minutes and the second one in less than 10 minutes. Using a wide straw sure helped get it down easier. The first time, I had to get to the bathroom in about 40 minutes, and the second dose in about 30 minutes from first drinking. I was totally cleaned out by the time I had my colonoscopy, which went very well - no polyps, just the diverticulosis, which I knew about from prior scopes of the pipes. Good advice - have baby wipes handy. The ones with aloe & vitamin E are very soothing. Also, some sort of ointment for the burning soreness. The Suprep made the experience much more tolerable. Good luck with your procedure!"

For Bowel Preparation "I am a newbie at this stuff, and after reading the reviews, I was scared to death! Luckily, I didn't experience the nausea most folks mentioned in their reviews. I was able to mix it with water and chug it down, followed by the other 32 oz of water, back to back. Not as bad as I thought, it tasted like watered-down, grape-flavored drink, with lots of salt. Not too bad, I thought to myself! About 20 minutes later, all hell broke loose! I trotted to the bathroom, and you better be close by as well! Around 3 hours of trips to the toilet, the first batch did its job, quite effectively, might I add... like a water jet for your bowels! Never, and I mean never ever, trust a fart, sneeze, or cough! You will be in very dangerous territory!"

For Bowel Preparation "After reading the scary reviews, I wanted to come back here after my procedure and reassure people that Suprep is very doable and works well. Maybe it's not the best-tasting drink in the world, but not terrible either. I did chill it and add some lemonade Crystal Light, but I was able to drink it without difficulty. I was expecting it to be the worst thing ever based on previous reviews! I had no nausea, and it began working about an hour after drinking. Round 2 for me was in the middle of the night, so of course, it was a bit harder (because I was so tired), but again, very tolerable. Good news was that my colon was cleaned out well! My best advice is try not to worry and overthink it, and you will be fine."

For Bowel Preparation "So, I was nervous about this Suprep ordeal all day. 9:30 AM colonoscopy appointment; started the prep at 4 PM the evening before. I had out-of-this-world anxiety. First, the taste is not that bad. I had some burping while taking it down. Sip water in between prep sips. 25 minutes after starting (before finishing the prep), I needed to use the bathroom. Big watery movement for the first one. Finished the prep and drank most of the rest of the 32 ounces. Watery movements coming every few minutes; but no pain, no cramps, no nausea. By 5 PM, my bowel movements were clear. The prep does not cause horrible diarrhea... it does cause diarrhea, but it's not horrible. It just comes out. No cramping or straining. Just a literal flush of the system. Second dose will be about 9 PM."

For Bowel Preparation "So far, the worst part of the process was the liquid diet the day before the procedure and the anticipation of using the prep medicine. The flavor of Suprep was not at all bad. We all have different taste preferences, but really, this was not a big deal. Used cold water to mix in and drink quickly with a straw, as recommended here by others. The bathroom part was easy as well. Never fun to camp out in the toilet for an hour or two, but I did not find the process painful or terribly unpleasant. The dreading of it was MUCH worse than the actual experience. Hopefully, my procedure will go well and I’m all clean."
