For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "It's been just over a year since finding out I had this... still haven't come to terms with saying the word! Herpes. I got it from my daughter's father, 7/8/15 the worst day of my life. Immediately, I knew something was wrong with my throat and mouth. It's only been within the past few months since finding out about this product. It is amazing!! Thankfully, no cold sores have formed around my mouth, my family doesn't even know I got it! When I start to feel the slightest tingle, I take 400-500 mg of L-Lysine at one time and I'm good the next morning! No cramps or side effects, I think my skin is even looking healthier!!"

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "Works for acute HSV2 outbreaks at high doses. I took low-dose maintenance (500 mg) for several years and saw no difference in outbreaks. Last year, I was going on a big trip, started to get an outbreak, and out of desperation took 3,000 mg of lysine. Within a few hours, the sensation was gone, and by the next day, I was completely normal. Now, I take 2,500 mg when I feel an outbreak, and 80% of the time, it will be almost gone by the next day. In my opinion, 500-1,000 mg does nothing for HSV2 (500 mg is what I give my cat for feline herpes...and she weighs 10 lbs)"

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I've had the virus for about 5 months now, and once I first got the virus, I was having outbreaks every 2-3 weeks. I've been taking lysine pills for about a month now, and I swear this is the best thing I could have ever found out about! I haven't had an outbreak since I started taking them! Sometimes I take 2 pills a day when I feel like I might get an outbreak, but these things really work. I would recommend these to everybody with this virus. They are a lifesaver, literally!"

Lysine for Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I never do reviews, but I'm hoping this will help someone. I was diagnosed with herpes simplex virus type 1, orally and genitally, that I got from a loser who knew he had it but did not tell me. I recently had a genital outbreak and started taking L-Lysine as soon as I felt it coming. The blister did show up but started fading away and was almost gone after 4 days. I took about 3,000 mg of L-Lysine a day. I'm not sure of the recommended dose, but I did not have any side effects. This stuff really does work for genital and oral herpes!"

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I was getting small outbreaks occasionally for herpes and would take 1000 mg of lysine every few hours for the first day. Worked very quickly. If I get open sores that are very painful, I use a 40% zinc oxide baby diaper rash cream. Provides a barrier and helps immensely with pain and helps sores dry up fast."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I'm back. I took lysine and red marine algae. It worked. I also bought 5 packs of hydrogen peroxide over the counter, and apple cider vinegar separate. Some disappeared, but stubborn 5 warts are left. I had 30 horrible warts in my vagina and anus. Don't give up, we are in this together. When we heal up, use condoms. Trust no one. It ruined me, I cried every day but didn't give up."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "There is no cure for HSV2, but you can suppress it with lysine. You have to take it every day, and it just becomes part of your daily routine, like brushing your teeth or taking a shower. I was diagnosed with HSV2 in 2012 and had outbreaks every single month for the first year. After that, it was about every other month. It was a painful and humiliating experience for years. After introducing lysine, along with OLE, into my daily routine, I haven't had an outbreak since September 2015. If I feel like an outbreak may occur, I just up the dosage until that familiar tingling sensation goes away. I know lysine doesn't work for everyone, but I stand by it 100% for my HSV2 suppression."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "DO NOT TAKE LYSINE PILLS UNTIL YOU READ THIS. Once you start taking the pills, you cannot stop. If you get outbreaks a couple of times a year (that's not bad), once you take the pills and stop taking them later, you will start getting outbreaks every other week. DON'T DO IT. Just stick to the lysine cream and only when you start to have an outbreak. Most of the comments are from marketing companies paid to promote a certain vitamin or health product like grape seed extract will cure sinus infection and bad breath (no it won't). Even the strongest antibiotics that you've never heard of sometimes can't. Your body can defend itself against the herpes virus most of the time and keep it at bay (use a lysine cream when it can't). If you start taking the pills, your body will no longer fight the virus and it will start emerging frequently once you stop the pills."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I don't usually do 'alternative meds' and am very critical of 'miracle drugs.' However, for lysine, I will really recommend it. I have tried all the traditional prescription ointments, but honestly, I never felt they made a difference, so I stopped using them. My doc never wanted to prescribe pills due to the side effects. I have 2-4 outbreaks a year (oral herpes) and discovered lysine around 5 years ago. And was amazed. Nothing else I have tried has ever had ANY effect on my herpes. Nothing until lysine. I would not call it a miracle cure - it's not. But it really makes a difference. I don't take lysine preventatively. Only when I feel an outbreak starting. Then I take a tablespoon of powdered lysine dissolved in water twice a day. It once completely prevented a severe outbreak. Upper lip was all swollen, but then simply went back to normal without blistering. Usually, though, lysine just slows development, and the blisters are smaller once they form. I highly recommend this."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I have had cold sores since I was a teenager, firstly on my face, and then my first outbreak on my genitals when still not sexually active (self-inoculation). Since then, stress or being run down will have me with an outbreak. I finally got fed up a few years ago with all the pain and the stares if I went out and did some research. I found Lysine! As far as I am concerned, it is a miracle. As soon as I feel tingling of an outbreak, I take 2000 mg twice a day, and it has all but disappeared within 48 hours! There is residual redness, but blisters don't form, or if they do, it's usually just one small one which withers away on its own. Lysine is now a constant in my medicine cupboard."

For Herpes Simplex (HSV) "I've had herpes for 15 years and used to suffer with painful outbreaks. When searching the web, I found out about Lysine. I don't take it daily because I rarely have outbreaks, but I probably will. Currently, I've been taking 4 500 mg tablets daily when I feel that an outbreak is coming on. Either the outbreak doesn't come at all or it is less severe and goes away after a day or two. I also take Vitamin C with the Lysine and it's been very successful. I think I may take a Lysine vitamin daily to avoid the outbreaks altogether."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "My boyfriend and I have been together for a year. Long story short, his cheating ex had given him STDs (curable ones), but had also passed herpes, dormant until 3 months ago. Surprise! It was mild and didn't look like herpes at all, but then I got it much worse, all over my genitals, cold sores, and eye infection. I was prepared for weeks of pain, and the antiviral meds would speed it up but not stop the process. The blisters came (not popping yet). I read about lysine and took 3g a day for 3 days. I kid you not, it reversed my first outbreak. Cold sores dried up and scabbed over, blisters never burst, just shrunk and disappeared. I never had to deal with the ulcers. Gone in 3 days after using it. This is a miracle drug!"

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "When I get stressed, drink lots of alcohol, or even go in the sun, I'm almost guaranteed a cold sore. Unlike most people, I don't feel an itch, it just pops out of nowhere. I take about 5000-8000 mg the first time I notice it, and it definitely reduces the size! Then I decrease the dosage slowly. I find it does make them go away faster, and the nasty blister stage isn't so nasty anymore. Maybe if I could catch it in time, I wouldn't have them because lysine works!!"

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "Apparently, my herpes was dormant for 6 years before I knew I had it - ugh. Was prescribed generic Valtrex for it, which made me nauseous, bad abdominal cramps, and ultimately constipated! Also made me incredibly tired! Switched to using lysine as therapy - 1,000 mg/day. For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I discovered several years ago, every few months I would get a painful blister or two on my penis. By everything I could read, I had contracted the curse, and what's worse, she finally admitted. I was looking for homeopathic cures and ran across an article regarding L-Lysine. I started at the first signs of an OB 2000 mg, then 1000 mg daily thereafter. I also applied Tea Tree Oil (VERY gently). In about a week, it was 99% gone, just a little tender. For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I stopped using lysine for 2 weeks, and I started shaving again and eating chocolate. And peanuts. It all came back. So now I started my journey again with 2,000 mg of lysine, organic apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, over-the-counter excess vitamin C, and Sea Breeze astringent baby powder. I use everything, this is the worst crazy virus to fight. I still cry, but I'm being strong. If a thing gives me a second chance, I will use a condom with my next boyfriend. For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I contracted this horrible thing a few years ago, this is actually my first time even talking about it. I have done plenty of research on how to cope with this disease that will be in my life forever. I started using L-Lysine, and it actually helped me to have fewer outbreaks than before. I messed up and stopped taking them because during my last physical with my MD, my hormone levels were high, so in order for me to figure out if my thyroid was the issue, I held off on the lysine for a little while. Now, three days ago, I started feeling the tingle pains coming along. Unfortunately, I had one of the most horrible outbreaks I've had since I found out about my diagnosis. I just purchased a bottle of lysine for $6.70 at a local pharmacy, and hopefully, I start healing."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "I was having major outbreaks because I was eating Snickers, and that has nuts and chocolate (two of the things that promote cold sores). I didn't even know until I looked it up, but I always had an outbreak, just not bad. Anyway, I did some research on what I could use for my outbreaks. I bought L-lysine, and let me tell you, they are the real deal! I started using it, 2 pills a day, and I felt an outbreak coming, so I took more lysine. No outbreak came, and I'm very pleased with this cheap pill that does the job. Need to not eat foods high in arginine, like chocolate, nuts, eggs."

For Herpes Simplex, Suppression "If lysine is not effective, which it was not with me... magnesium is absolutely effective, and concentrated greens (powdered), such as Amazing Grass or any other reputable, similar product, or probably even eating dark leafy greens daily, will give you bioavailable magnesium through food. This will halt all symptoms completely. There’s no need for lab-produced amino acids when food will do the trick. Concentrated greens typically contain broccoli, kale, spinach, chlorella, etc., all FOOD, just dehydrated and ground up."
