"An update to my earlier progress: I have been on Saxenda for 10.5 months now and have lost 29 kg (64 pounds), and I only take 1/5 of the dose by staying on the 0.6 mg. I never got past 1.8 (briefly), as the constipation was too bad. Most of the time, I did not exercise - a combination of being hard as a big person, a bad knee, and working awful hours. I have started walking more recently, which feels great to be able to move more easily. I have moved from Obese Class 3 to Class 1; and in 5 more kg, I will move to Overweight rather than Obese - which I am excited by. At this stage, I expect to stay on this low dose approach to lose another 10-15 kg, then I will try to wean myself off and monitor what happens."

"I didn’t think Saxenda would work for me as I mainly eat out of boredom. My start weight March ‘24 was 83kgs & in 3 months June ‘24 is 77kgs. I find I can’t drink much alcohol & my meal portions are smaller. I’ve had a couple of episodes of diarrhoea when I’ve over indulged & early on heartburn was quite prevalent but found Gaviscon worked immediately. I haven’t been able to do any exercise due to a bad leg so I’m happy to have lost the 6kgs. The injections are simple to do, the biggest downside for me is the cost & I’m concerned about putting weight back on when I stop taking it. So apart from the cost I’m very happy with Saxenda."

"I started using Saxenda a week and a half ago. I'm very impressed. In the first week on 0.6mg, I lost 5kg. I wasn't expecting it, but it was a nice surprise. I've had some nausea, but nothing too bad. I also have constipation badly, but I find Caruso Constipation Eze works great. I'm now on 1.2 mg, and I get weighed every 3 to 4 weeks. So far, it's been a game-changer, and I can't wait for what's to come."

"Perfect!! No side effects. Maybe a few, but when you start losing weight yourself. There are also some side effects. I lost 10 kg within 8 weeks. But please note that I am very motivated! There are periods when my weight is frozen. It takes 1.5 weeks before I see weight loss again. But then I go with 2 kg in 2 to 3 days. I can recommend it."

"I started Saxenda 7 weeks ago at 128kg and just weighed in at 119.6, so happy to report an 8.4kg loss. I have had a great experience so far - I describe it as 'there is silence in my head' instead of always wondering what is in the pantry or what my next meal is. It is amazing, and I would estimate I am eating 1/3 of what I used to. I have stayed on the 1.8mg so far as it seems to be working well. I will increase later if I think I need to. I have not exercised (yet). The only side effects are both constipation and diarrhea - not pleasant but not unmanageable. So far, I am a big fan. In Australia, I paid $380 for 5 pens, and based on a dose of 1.8mg ongoing, I am estimating $250-300/month, then minus what I am not spending on food."

"A recap: I started taking Saxenda 4 months ago. I'm after thyroidectomy because of thyroid cancer, and I have hyperinsulinism. After 4 months of taking Saxenda (3 months on 0.6 dose, and now on 1.2), I lost 18 kilos (39 lbs). At the beginning of my journey, I weighed 141 kg (310 lbs), and now I weigh 123 kg (271 lbs). My insulin levels went from 48 to 27, which is amazing. My blood sugar is perfect. I have no side effects. I think that's maybe because I started really slow, and I took the lowest dose for 3 months. I don't intend to increase my dosage right now because the 1.2 dose still works for me. I eat around 1800 calories per day, no exercise at all. Will be back with another update after 4 months from now. Take care."

"On week 1. So far no issues at all. I followed my doctor's advice to make sure I eat 3 meals a day, whether I am hungry or not. Small meals. I like how I don't have an appetite and I pick better the foods I am going to put in my mouth. Protein at each meal so there is no muscle loss. I put electrolyte drops in my water once a day. 4.2 lbs loss so far in the first week. I notice the water loss in my ankles, etc. I look forward to week two. I like that the needle is so small you barely know it's there. I am taking my vitamins. I started riding my indoor bike every couple of days. I will update on week 2 next."

"Love being on this, appetite has diminished, and at times wondering if not eating enough, try to ensure fruit veggies daily including yogurt have started on protein shakes. Dosage is at 1.8, however, since increase to 1.8 have begun to feel light-headed and dizzy. Not sure if I should drop back to 1.2. Have lost 12 kg in 4 months, very happy with loss though seems to have plateaued and is now a lot slower. Should I increase up to the full 3mg?"

"5 weeks in. Have lost 24 pounds in the last 3.5 weeks. Plateaued about a week ago at the 21 pound mark. Struggling to break through the barrier. Finally lost 3 more pounds in about 7 days. I eat so much less than what I used to. Sometimes just a strip of chicken in the morning and a 1/2 pint of beef/potatoes/vegetables at night. One snack. 1/2 pint peanut butter/raspberry preserves/peanuts/coffee creamer. I am slightly nauseated off and on. Tums help. I am delighted and excited. Goal=200lbs from 390lb to 190lb."

"So I'm from Poland and I was very afraid of taking this drug. I'm 37 years old. 5 years ago, I underwent total thyroidectomy after thyroid cancer. I'm also insulin resistant. When starting Saxenda on July 8, 2023, I weighed 141kg (310 pounds), and my height is 169cm (5'6). I also had my gallbladder removed in 2019, and it's the reason I was so scared to begin Saxenda. I think that I have a higher chance of developing pancreatitis. 13 days have passed, and so far, I've lost 5kg (11 pounds). I'm still on the lowest dose of 0.6. I don't feel hungry anymore, and the best part is that I don't have any bad side effects, only good :) I stopped taking my drugs for hypertension because now my blood pressure is perfect (105/72), and I don't feel sleepy in the middle of the day. I eat roughly 1700 calories per day. My blood results are perfect. I will continue taking Saxenda and will report back in the future :)"

"I have been on this for 23 days and am down 10.8 pounds. I have felt nausea and fatigue, but it is getting better. I have increased from 0.6 to 1.2 and have done the 1.8 a few days. But I have decided to take my time increasing since it has been so effective. I cannot emphasize how much this has cut down on cravings and the feeling of hunger. I had already been improving my eating habits, so I feel like I had a jump start (down a total of 30 pounds since April). I normally feel hungry and go back for seconds or want a late-night snack of popcorn and a glass or two of wine. Saxenda has practically eliminated those cravings completely. I eat a small or reasonable portion and feel full. I am definitely happy with the results. I have seen other comments where people were not happy, but it seemed like they jumped from 0.6 to 1.2 quickly or were still overeating. My results have been great, and the side effects minor. I would not recommend overeating since that happened to me one night and I got sick."

"Ontario, Canada. Started June 21st, 2023 at 192 lbs. Today, July 10th, I'm down 17 lbs. No side effects. After bumping up the dose, I started taking it in the morning instead of at night. Now, my big mistake was pushing the dial on the injecting button and taking it out quickly. Then I read to push the button until it goes back to zero, wait 6-7 seconds, and then remove it. I'm up to 1.8 sometimes with a little headache, but I nibble on grapes or yogurt. I used to drink a bottle of wine every night. Since I started, to be honest, I took a taste of wine and it tastes horrible. My plate size is pretty small. I have noticed the weight coming off my belly. I have to be honest, I was thin most of my life, but about 15 years ago, I started gaining weight little by little. When I first started, I thought I would like to look better. Then I thought of all the fat surrounding my organs. My blood pressure was high, so I had to do something. This seems to work for now, so I'm trying 4 more pens!!! Fingers crossed."

"First, I will say that my insurance doesn't cover the cost. So I did some checking around, and Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart had the best price - less $500 for 5 pens! I'm 70 lbs overweight and have spent many years and money (I can't count) trying to lose weight. Nothing seemed to work. So, $500 more, as a last resort, here it goes. I started Saxenda on June 21st, 2023. On June 28th, down 8 lbs (no side effects at .6). I do take it late in the evening. I don't exercise much, I just take my dog for a walk most days. I'm not an overeater. Coffee for breakfast, fruit at lunchtime, an afternoon yogurt, and a smaller portion of dinner with the family. I may try .6 for my second week to see what happens!"

"An absolute miracle drug, lost 6kg in the first month without even trying vs most diets which were doing nothing. Get occasional slight nausea, but it's nothing to worry about. I've stopped increasing my dose as 1.8 mg seems to be working for now. A small word of warning that if you're planning a big night out best skip the dose for the day otherwise you WILL vomit (either on the night or the morning after, which although will save you calories is not ideal). Gets a 10/10 for sheer effectiveness though."

"I used Ozempic to no avail so my endocrinologist put me on Saxenda. I have made some lifestyle changes since starting Saxenda. I started Intermittent fasting - I eat at 11 am and 7.00 pm, and I swim 1/2 a kilometer 5 days a week. Due to Saxenda, I am not hungry. I cannot stomach fried foods. So I eat clean but eat what I like. Including ice cream. I have lost 40kg since August 2022."

"I've been on Saxenda for 6 months, have lost 45 pounds, and have been very happy with the results. I'm on the Calibrate program, taking diet, sleep, and exercise very seriously. I cheat some days, but it's all about making good choices and portion control with food. Calibrate has helped me stay on track and learn tons about weight loss. I've learned to eat less to avoid nausea. An other side effect has been itching around my stomach area where I inject."

"First few weeks of sazenda and I really could feel it in my system and only side effects were lots of burping. I have lost 21 pounds in 6 weeks and it has felt mostly easy. I am a food addict and although not diagnosed, I believe I was pre diabetic. Saxenda has helped me enormously with sweet cravings and now I no longer reach for chocolate. I’ve hit a plateau with weight loss at the moment but I really feel it’s to do with water intake issues and I need to up it a bit as I’m barely drinking. I shall continue with this med and enjoy feeling better in myself as 21 pounds off is fantastic in my book."

"I was prescribed Saxenda since my BMI was over 30 and I am pre-diabetic with fatty liver and high glucose levels. I have been at normal weight most of my life, anywhere from 132-177 at 5’8. Well, 8 years ago I had surgery, and in the past 8 years, my health has gotten worse, and was prescribed a lot of different medications. I gained a lot of weight due to that and also due to mobility problems. My highest weight was 239 lbs. Recently the past month I changed my entire way of eating, started walking and the doctor put me on Saxenda. Let me tell you what a great medication it is! It took away my hunger and my sugar cravings, and I’ve already lost 17 pounds in one month! I love this drug and highly recommend it to anyone struggling to lose weight and who has tried everything else. I am at my lowest weight in 8 years and couldn’t be happier. Thanks, SAXENDA."

"Started 12 weeks ago and have lost 13.2 kg (29 lbs). During the increased dosage phase, I had mild nausea for the first day or so, then very little side effects. I struggle to consume more than 1,000 calories/day while on Saxenda. As time has passed, side effects are coming to light: low Vitamin B12/low energy, general fatigue, lightheadedness, and irritation at the injection site (although that comes and goes). However, I believe these are from a significant decrease in caloric intake, not the medication itself. I have started taking a high-quality multivitamin, so hopefully that will remedy some of these issues. My weight loss each week is directly linked with how much water I take in. Low water weeks = low weight loss weeks. 3+ liters each day, and I lose at least 1 kg a week. Increasing my water intake has also helped to alleviate mild constipation and general bloat."

"I’ve lost 27kg - at the moment it keeps dropping to 30kg lost then back up to 27kg. I doubled my exercise and am more conscious of what I eat and I feel fantastic. I’m now in healthy weight range. I’m thinking of keeping going to lose another 10kg (still in healthy weight range) I don’t like the injections or the cost but it’s an investment in my health and well-being."

"I have lost a significant amount of weight after taking Saxenda for 5 months. It has reduced my appetite, helped me to overhaul my diet and eat healthy food and lose enough weight so that I can walk 6 kilometres a day again (no crippling back pain). Other benefit is my ibs-d is 90% better than before I started taking Saxenda. I would continue taking this medication for the relief of ibs even if I weren’t losing weight. I am taking 0.6 dose daily and have no unwanted side effects."

"I'm 60 years old and struggled with weight all my life. I'm on Saxenda for 5 days and I'm down 2.5 lbs. I can't believe that I don't feel hungry and realize now how much I was overeating. No side effects but I'm anxious about increasing the dose. I'm a nurse so I'm thinking of splitting the higher doses and taking it morning and evening to see if that will ease any nausea. Not sure if it will work but I'm going to give it a try. Hope this helps."

"I've struggled to lose weight for years. Having a miscarriage at 48, then menopause, also had a transient ischaemic attack (TIA), (mini-stroke), so energy levels dropped. Achilles injury which has plagued me for years, and now knee pain so I needed to lose weight to help my joint pain but have had no luck. I tried stomach balloon which didn’t work for me as you still need to have restraint with food intake or you just put the weight back on. I’m a comfort eater so I put it right back on and more I considered surgery but they wanted me to lose weight first. After trying so many different drugs and supplements, my doctor finally suggested Saxenda. I’ve only been taking it for 10 days and I’ve already lost 3 kgs (6.5 pounds)! It’s so easy to inject yourself, don’t even feel it. Feel slightly nauseous for a couple of hours after, that’s all. Don’t feel hungry so not struggling at all. I’m eating so much less and see the weight dropping every day, I tend to make better choices and don’t feel deprived at all"
