"I was on Armour Compound 90 mg for the last 2 years but started on the new Armour formula and had trouble with too much T3, which led to hyperthyroidism. My endocrinologist changed me to Tirosint, a gel cap form that is easy on the system. They are individually packaged, I don't know why. After a few weeks, I had a flare of hives, itching, and some hair loss, but now I seem to be doing great! I will be excited to test my blood work to see the levels in a few weeks. I am hoping it will help with my fertility."

"I had tried Armour thyroid, Synthroid DAW, compounded T3/T4, cytomel and Tirosint was able to control my TSH, T3 and T4 much more than the other drugs. I haven't needed to make many adjustments at all on the medication. I did lose a few pounds in the first month of switching to Tirosint as well."

"I had been on levothyroxine for about 6 years with no problems. I got a new doctor closer to my home & he switched me to this drug, On it just 2 weeks I got severe anxiety attacks (hyperventilating). He has given me samples so I do not know if this will be covered by my insurance yet. I got a blood test & he said the levels were fine that I should see my internist for my anxiety. NOT. I will go back on my regular meds for 2 weeks then try this again. I think it is this drug."

"Tirosint dosing needs to be better understood. It is much stronger mcg by mcg than levothyroxin as traditionally prepared. I ended up in the emergency room with a pulse of 207 and a TSH of 0.007 after taking a 25 mcg lower dose of Tirosint than generic, 150 mcg Tirosint instead of 175 mcg Levothyroxin. Still way way way too much. I have taken hormone supplement for over 45 years and this has never happened before I took Tirosint. Be very careful. I changed back to generic after a $7,000 ER visit."

"I have had underactive thyroid for 8 years. I could not handle synthroid and was always going off. I like tirosint at first I am only on small dosage 13, but my hair was falling so bad so I started taking 2 pills during corona because of no dr. It stopped hair breakage but if I take it too much I get headaches and have trouble sleeping but now if I take 13 only I get bad depression and my hair falls out again. Overall I like meds I am diagnosed with hashimotos and this is just my life my own thyroid not being regulated. I have bad headache today so I can't take 2 tomorrow so I guess I can prep for severe depression. oy ve!"

"I've been on Tirosint for over 6 years now. I tried Synthroid and even Armour. Nothing worked until Tirosint. I started with 25 mcg and went up to 50mcg and have been on 50 mcg like forever. My levels went from 14 to 8 then to 6 then to 4. Then I went back up to 8 and my doctor increased me to 75 mcg. Well, I thought I was going to die. The headaches, the fatigue, seeing spots, feeling dizzy, stomach discomfort etc. Then some kind of lump developed on the right side of my neck. Like some kind of alien moving along my neck line & as it was happening I called for my husband and said what is that thing!!!!... So, I just put myself back on the 50 mg and within 2 weeks felt better but, not totally better. I think by increasing my med to 75 mcg was not a good plan by my doctor. I always say if it isn't broke don't fix it!!!...."

"My doctor switched me on Monday to Tirosint from levoxoryn and after 4 days I going back to my old medicine and I thank God I still have some because I can't go another day with this headaches, fatigue and muscle aches. I've been on levoxyl, thinthroid and levoxoryn and none have made me feel this horrible. I was planning on dealing with it to see if the symptoms would go away but I work doing payroll and taxes and this medicine is making me work real slow and making errors so I don't have the luxury to wait and see if in time I feel better. What I don't understand from what I've been reading this is a more pure form of levoxyl so if he's giving the same dosage wouldn't it mean he's over medicating me? I haven't talked to him yet."

"I was excited to switch from synthroid to tirosint because my doctor told me that it was gluten free compared to other medications. I have been on it for a little over a month after switching from synthroid and I feel so terrible, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue , lots of hair loss & weight is stuck and my goiter in my neck is enlarged again. I called my doctor because I want to go back on my synthroid. I did read that some people do better on it than others and I believe it is just not for me."

"Was recently switched over to Tirosint since I’ve been taking the generic levothyroxine pill since I was 12 years old. I’m currently 21 now and I’ve had palpitations, tiredness, and chest pain on and off for about 2 months now. I feel as if my symptoms are starting to get better with this new medication. Tirosint has worked wonders for me, I believe it’s because of no filler and better absorption! Of course, with most medication, there can be small side effects, and I seemed to have gotten worse palpitations…but they finally subsided. It takes a little while for the medication to do its thing, so don’t get discouraged."

"I’ve been on Tirosint since June 2019 for mildly low thyroid. Now I know TSH under 10 thyroid disease. I recently realized my thyroid fluctuates. June 2020 I fell and broke my ankle , continued my thyroid medication not knowing, my ankle didn’t heal then I fell again in November 2020, broke it again I ended up with two fractures on the same ankle. Long story short I was over medicated although my TSH was normal on Tirosint? I’m still confused as to how this happens but I went off the medication and my ankle healed in 4 weeks. When since June it wouldn’t heal at all. Thyroid medication is serious medication. Thyroid disease can be managed with diet and even reversed especially if the TSH under 10. That’s what I’ve learned from taking Tirosint."

"In February I was switched from name brand Synthyroid to Tirosint 25 mcg. I also take Cytomel 5 mcg. Since then a month later I am fatigued, pain in joints especially in hands wrists, legs, ankles, and very irritable. I'm not sure if Tirosint is the cause, but nothing has really changed to make me feel like this. I'm guessing it has to be from Tirosint."

"I'll be switching to Tirosint most probably. Reason is that Mylan which makes the generic Levothyroxine, has switched to using Mannitol as the preservative. I've been getting headaches for weeks until I traced it to the mannitol and started using some pills for old bottles."

"I switched over to Tirosint after taking levothyroxine for the past two years. It worked for me, I felt great and energetic. The only downside after switching is that I gained at least 10-15 lbs, and my face has gotten puffy I hate it. My insurance won’t cover the dose I’m on (150mcg) and it’s just way too expensive out of pocket. I believe my last refill was around $150, the pharmacy was able to bring it down to $113, which is still a lot for only a 28 day supply. I just switched to Armour Thyroid, (90mg). Hopefully that will help with the weight loss, it’s also NDT which is another good alternative if you prefer the natural route."

"This medicine I thought would be very good, vboy was I wrong.vIt lowered my numbers but it caused me to run a low grade fever that is making me miserable and I just discovered what was causing the fever. I thought to start looking at all my medicines again and lo and behold it stated that one of the less side effects was fever.vI am going to see if my medical doctor will change it to something else."

"Had to increase my torosint this week to 50mcg, and I feel so sick and lethargic. I will not take it tomorrow. I was on only .25 much for over 2 years, but my TSH suddenly started fluctuating, jumped up to 14, then 22. So I began 50 mcg this week, and my body does not like it. I need to try a different brand for sure. This is awful."
