"On day 5 of 10 of 500mg tablet. Other antibiotics have become unable to cure my sinus infections which I always allow to get really bad before going to the doctor. After the first dose I had a headache for 2.5 days, can't say that is from the Levofloxacin or not. Not sick at my stomach, just no desire to eat for the last 5 days. On day three the sinus infection in my nose/pressure seemed greatly improved but this has settled into my chest also, and a temperature of 101.07. I hope it works as well on the lung infection. This is a wonderful medicine with little side effects for me. I have been completely wiped out for five days. Just taking a shower and shaving today felt like I had run a marathon. Great antibiotic for sinus infections!"

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "I took ONE levaquin for a sinus infection and within 1 hour had a high fever. The blood vessels in my legs began leaking blood under my skin (a condition called vasculitis that is now permanent), my feet/hands were so swollen we almost had to cut off my wedding ring, and by the next morning I couldn't move ANY part of my body without excruciating pain. My doctor didn't know what was going on and called in a steroid, which helped me be able to move again, but it was a month before I could stand/walk. That was 5 years ago. I had an existing autoimmune disease and this drug made it much worse. I now have infusions of chemo to treat my vasculitis, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and I suffer from permanent neuropathy. DON'T TAKE THIS DRUG."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "I took Levaquin 500 three years ago and it worked great. I felt better in one day, but of course finished the course of the antibiotic. I had no side effects that I can remember, and was VERY happy that it quickly got rid of the crud I had (Bronchitis). I was prescribed Levaquin 750 for Sinusitis this week and am on my second day of taking it (will take it for 5 days total). The first day, I kept spacing out and forgetting what I was doing. It's not as bad today. I also feel soreness in certain parts of my body...my wrists, elbows, and one side of my neck. I also had mild insomnia, and I never have a problem sleeping normally. I'm still happy with Levaquin and these side effects seem mild at the moment."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "Took one day and felt so sick so I pulled up information. This medicine has been given a black box warning by the FDA!! I immediately stopped using and am requesting something else. There’s other options so this drug is not worth it"

"I had a sinus type infection for months and it would not go away...i finally went to my family doctor who said this levofloxacin was a great medication for such issues. He started me on 750mg for 10 days...within 24 hours of starting it, i noticed change in my sinus issues. I finished my meds and had zero side effects.....i no longer have any sinus issues. This antibiotic is nothing short of amazing. It recently cleared my husband of pneumonia! he was so weak, he couldn't hardly get up and within 24 hours on this antibiotic, he was up and walking. His 10 day supply cured him and he's back to normal. He had zero side effects. Wonderful stuff!!"

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "Earlier this week I was prescribed levofloxacin for sinus infection. I took one dose. I strength train and diet year round. I haven't felt like working out since I took it Monday. Very fatigued and weak. Last night I became extremely sensitive to cold. My hands became incredibly numb and cold and there was no blood in my fingers for the first couple inches. There's a poisonous taste in my mouth that won't go away and I have a rash on my back and my chest. My achilles tendons are so tight I'm afraid I'll rupture them."

"Bad sinus infection and cough so Dr gave me levofloxacin 750 mg for seven days. I was so sick and I just wanted to take it to get better. After reading the reviews of this medicine I have to say it scared me but so far I've had no reaction at all. Sinus infection is gone, cough is still there."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "I was prescribed Cephalexin for a 20 day course for a horrid sinus infection. I had a throbbing headache, lots of mucus, etc. but I wasn't feeling any better so I was prescribed Levaquin. Within the first three days of using Levaquin I felt incredibly tired; just weak, laying around all the time, and unable to sleep during the night. My eyes felt droopy all the time, I was dizzy standing up, my heart raced when I walked up the stairs, and finally on my fourth day taking the medicine I was startled. This had been going on for a couple days, but my head and left shoulder started twitching consistently. I literally could not keep them still. I got worried and called the doctor and was told to stop the drug. I guess it was too powerful for me!"

"I have had sinus infections my whole life and I am allergic to amoxicillin & erythromycin so I've taken Zithromax 100s of times. My sinusitis just started affecting my ear so a few months ago I tried 500mg x 5 days of Levaquin. I felt immediate relief although, at age 26, I couldn't walk without my knees giving out! I never wanted to take it again. Fast forward to 5 days ago when I was in the Urgent Care for a horrible sinus & ear infection. Z-Pack hadn't worked. I was in so much pain I decided to try Levaquin again. Day 5 of 10 500mg my body has tolerated it A LOT better! I feel great! Very little joint pain and almost immediate sinus and ear pain relief!"

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "Upon taking Levaquin I have currently what unfortunately hundreds of other people have from this drug (I found out too late) - an inexplicable torn Achilles heel and the destruction of my right ulnar nerve. I went through four months of physical therapy for my Achilles heel which did not completely heal, and also through surgery to relocate my ulnar nerve to hopefully aid in healing. The healing of the nerve will take over a year as I write this. In both instances the neuropathic surgeon, nerve doctor, and occupational therapist were initially at a loss as to the cause."

"This drug has caused a great deal of discomfort and pain to my legs and arms. I got a concussion 2 years ago and still have difficulty comprehending technical reading material. There were approximately 8 pages of possible side effects. I assumed the doctor or pharmacist would inform me of anything important. No one did. Even when I complained to the doctor about how sore my legs were since taking taking Levoflaxicin he didn’t say one word. I it’s now been approximately 3 months since I took it. Symptoms are not getting better. STAY AWAY FROM THE DRUG!"

"I was prescribed Levofloxacin 500mg for a sinus infection. I took it for 10 days with no change in infection it wasn't working. I noticed soreness in my Achilles and in my knees. I began to experience strong panic attacks and very strong dark thoughts. The paranoia was very intense as was the depression. I have never in my life experienced panic attacks, anxiety attacks, suicidal thoughts, paranoia, huge mood swings or depression. The above effects lasted almost two weeks. Anxiety still comes and goes. It has been two months since taking Levofloxacin and the anxiety attacks are getting less."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "I was given a 10 day prescription after sinus surgery. The pros are 1) I only have to swallow one pill per day 2) It doesn't bother my stomach (other antibiotics have in the past) and 3) I've not gotten a yeast infection. The con is that it seems to totally dry me out. I take it in the evening, and my mouth/nose/lips are incredibly dry regardless of the amount of water I drink all night long. It is uncomfortable enough to keep me awake. I also experience dryness during the day, but not the same severity."

"I have COPD and at least twice a year I suffer severe flare-ups of the condition sometimes requiring hospitalization. Levaquin is the only antibiotic that has been effective. If I take it immediately upon early symptoms of a flare-up, I can avoid hospitalization. I have been taking it several times a year for the last several years and have not experienced any serious side effects. When ever I've been hospitalized for COPD exacerbations, I received higher doses of levaquin and again, with no side effects."

"Prescribed this medicine for a recurring sinus infection. Doctor at N.W. allergy said you may have some tenderness in your lower leg tendons near ankles just don't exercise while taking. After a week in a half of taking medicine I could barely walk. Kept taking medicine because pain was in my upper calfs and knee joint. Then it went into my shoulder. The doctor insisted it wasn't the levoflaxin. Two weeks after finishing the medicine I feel like an 80 year old women with bad arthritis, and prior to this I was a healthy active 51 year old women. Doctor still insist it wasn't the antibiotic I just woke up one morning with knee and shoulder joint and muscle pain for no reason. This medicine is not worth the risk and can change your life."

"My ENT doctor prescribed Levofloxacin for Sinusitis. After taking it for a week, I came down with serious tendonitis in my Achilles and have been limping since with extreme to moderate pain. I would never recommend anyone take or prescribe this medicine and look for other options. After doing some research on this, I have found that there have been numerous lawsuits over this and that it appears to have been taken off the market before."

"I got sick 2 days after Thanksgiving with a sinus infection and my Dr. Put me on Prednisone and azithromycin for chest congestion. I did not get well. I was then put on levofloxacin for 10 days I am on day 7, I quit today. I have a severe headache, earache, sore throat, swollen glands, sores on my tongue, my mouth feels like it was burned. Gums receded. My arm tendons are shooting pains, my legs are swollen. Ankles hurt. I think this medication should be outlawed. It is poison."

Levaquin (levofloxacin) "Levaquin is the ONLY antibiotic that gets rid of my 4x/year sinus infections. I switched doctors in November, and came down with an infection just after making my first appointment. I agreed to try a different antibiotic—Cefuroxine— because I HAVE experienced tendon injury after taking Levaquin (I was sprinting a couple months later and not aware of the warnings). I “sort of” got over the November sinusitis and then came down with another in January. I honestly don't think the first one ever went away, leading to the second flare-up. I again agreed to try a different antibiotic, Doxycycline (I’m still babying those tendons from 3 years ago, so why not avoid the Levaquin, right?). Was on the Doxy 10 days, and, now, three days after finishing, I am no better. I’m calling my doc’s office and insisting on the Levaquin tomorrow. I just won’t be doing sprints."

"I started Levofloxacin 500 mg 10 days, I'm on day 5. I've been having trouble sleeping and a little bit of diarrhea. Yesterday I started to have random, deep pain in my forearm, legs, and right shoulder/shoulder blade. I'm thinking about calling my doctor to ask if I should continue taking it. It worked really fast other then those side effects. Which is great because I have a really hard time with other antibiotics!"

"I have been fighting my sinus infection for over 5 years now. Have been on different antibiotics through all those years. Just for the past 7 months I have been on antibiotics about 5 times (mostly Zithromax). It seems like the relief was for a couple of days and within a week my sinus would be stronger then previous. This time I went to the doctor and he put me on levofloxacin 500 for 7 days. I am on day 5 and I feel at least 65 % better. My nasal area feels more dry and much less mucus is coming out. I also have a strong bronchitis. My head and breathing cleared up. I am still coughing though, but not as much as I used to. I tend to have difficulty waking up in the morning but hope it will be better as the treatment finishes."

"My doctor prescribed 10 days of this Rx for a sinus infection; yesterday made 4 days and I'm experiencing severe joint pain. After reading the reviews below I'm shocked/scared and will not be taking anymore pills. My body feels as though I've been in a car accident, I can barely move my neck due to pain, my hands ache like I have arthritis, my elbows, entire back, hips, knees and ankles are in pain and the bottom of my feet are burning as if I've been walking in hot sand. The last four days I've had a headache and nausea and today my eyes ache. This morning I was then experiencing confusion and finally decided to do more research on this drug and discovered this site. I plan to call my doctor tomorrow; this drug is horrible!"

"After reading all the reviews I was not sure about taking this drug and upset my doctor gave it to me. He stated stop reading the reviews everyone is different but these are long term side effects because of the drug. So I tried the first pill and with in 10min it declogged my nose but I still had pressure in my head and then I was weak and couldn't sleep at night felt like I was going to stop breathing and my muscles feel sore and so I decided to call him and ask for a different drug I will not take another dose after reading what this drug has done to so many people, the fact it's even out there is scary. I hope I don't devleope any long term effects because of one pill I took yesterday. I start ceftin today for my lung and sinus infec"
