For Herbal Supplementation "I would like to add to my original post. There are 2 additional side effects that I have observed with kratom, which are similar to what I have experienced with opioids. (1) A cough, it comes and goes with my kratom use. I occasionally cough up a little goo, and it clears up in a day or two after I stop. I don't mean to say I run around coughing all the time, it is just an occasional cough. (2) If I take a lot, I notice a swelling of the lymph nodes in one armpit. This has always returned to normal within one day with reduced consumption."

For Herbal Supplementation "I have really bad chronic pain from fibromyalgia and a back and leg injury. Kratom has been a literal lifesaver for me. I didn’t want to live with that pain before I started taking kratom. I take some 1-2 times a day, one of those always being before bed so I can actually sleep. I have had full blood tests done several times and my liver has been fine. Even if kratom is addictive, I don’t mind. After trying several different types of treatments, my options were prescription opioids, kratom, or not being around anymore. The acetaminophen in prescription opioids is terrible for you long-term and it’s almost impossible for doctors to prescribe it long-term. I want to stick around for a while, so kratom was what I picked and it changed my life. I will always be happy I found it. I use it with a shaker bottle and either orange juice (will mess up your teeth if you don’t brush right after) or a heavy black tea with flavoring."

For Herbal Supplementation "Long story short: have long-term pain for decades, on many opioids like oxy and fentanyl patches for years. I hated the addiction and had lots of issues. It stops working after a while, and I was scared to increase an already huge dose of oxy at 240 mg a day, then 100 mcg fentanyl, so I had a rapid detox procedure to withdraw painlessly from it and switched to kratom when not having anything was too painful. It’s a mixed bag. It will stop any withdrawal for sure, and if you take enough of it, it will get rid of your pain as well as opioids. It’s cheap, easy to get, and legal in most places. The cons are constipation requiring Miralax and Dulcolax daily. It is addictive for sure, no question, but the withdrawal isn’t as severe as opioids. You’ll become tolerant and will need higher doses. It’s a hassle to consume. It’s a lot of plant material which I put in capsules and need to take large numbers of them daily. Some are lucky to need far less."

"I use a small dose of kratom (2.5 mg or so, about 2-3 times a week after a particularly rough shift at work), and I use the Red Bali. As long as I don't consume too much caffeine with it in the evening (bad anxiety, wouldn't recommend), it's a godsend, like somebody else said. It really helps with joint and muscle pain in a way that nothing else I've taken without major side effects has. My only cautionary statements would be to keep an eye on your caffeine intake with it. Do not, under any circumstances, drink or double up on other drugs with it (I use cannabis but have never had a problem with it particularly, I saw my ex-husband take 3-4 mg after ONE beer, and he was practically in a coma and was acting ridiculous/out of it). Be sure to drink plenty of water, don't take with other opiates or benzos (do your research before taking), and you'll be fine. Overdoing it can make you anxious and nauseous, so take it easy."

For Herbal Supplementation "I’ve been taking kratom every day for 3 years. Every morning I take about 6 grams with my coffee and every afternoon 6 grams. Some days I take more depending on my stress load. I’ve found it beneficial in my life, but I am worried about long-term effects."

"Gulf War veteran, retired nurse, 57-year-old man with chronic pancreatitis and general body pain, on morphine for 8 years, Percocet for 10 years, started kratom 3 months ago, pain free, narcotics free, alcohol free, mood stable, anxiety zero. Wish I would have known about it sooner."

For Herbal Supplementation "I've used for 6 years. Currently use anywhere from 200-400 mg of extract a dose to get noticeable effects. My sweet spot is a dose of 200 mg of extract every 2 hours. The first 200 mg dose provides energy, and each subsequent dose slowly increases the euphoric/sedative effects. The highest dose taken in one 'session' (period of usage, not a daily user) has been 1,200 mg, consumed over an 8-hour period. Effects are often a very clear-headed, strong body-centric heavy feeling. Rarely causes me effects that are so strong I fall asleep. Have never experienced 'the wobbles' before. I usually spend $30 per container of extract (specifically the extract shot I take, which is 1,200 mg of extract in six 5 ml doses and is $27.)"

"Kratom has helped me tremendously with energy, motivation, and sleep issues due to stress. I’m lucky that I have not needed it for physical discomfort, but I’m thankful to have it on hand in case I ever need it. We as adults should have access to botanicals that improve our lives, and this 100% natural powder boosts my mood so that I can have meaningful, successful days when needed."

For Herbal Supplementation "Be aware! Don't be fooled by this opiate substitute. Kratom is a very sneaky and powerful drug. It is legal and easy to obtain, but that is the problem. I was using kratom for recreational use for many years and thought I had control, but when I wanted to stop, I couldn't. I had withdrawals and had to enter rehab for it. Be aware! If you are a drug addict, this is not a safe alternative. It is just another vice that will trick you and hold you hostage."

For Herbal Supplementation "I have suffered with severe Restless Leg Syndrome for years, nothing would help for very long. I also have chronic pain from arthritis. I decided to buy kratom from the Netherlands from a well-known company. My daughter also has chronic pain from internal injuries from surgery (another story) and decided to try it too. We made the tea when the powder (red vein kratom) arrived. We were meticulous about making and measuring, having watched many videos on YouTube. The smallest amount was used: half a teaspoon each, about 2 grams. Within half an hour, I began to have pain in my lower abdomen, and so did my daughter. Within minutes, my restless legs started jumping, we both experienced restlessness to the point of distraction. Then we felt very dizzy and disoriented. The pain grew, and I thought, how could this happen when it is supposed to help, not make it worse? Worst night of my life. Never again. Keep away from kratom. It is dangerous."

"High doses of kratom works really well for my schizophrenia, especially the red and green ones. Shuts down all that paranoia, anxiety, and racing thoughts just as well as an antipsychotic."
