"I have chronic back pain from multiple injuries and had been using prescribed MS Contin (extended-release morphine) 15mg twice daily along with epidural injections 3 times a year. Constant pain is my life. Needed to drug test for a new job, so to avoid stigma, explanations, and not getting hired, I stopped taking the morphine cold turkey. The withdrawals were HORRIBLE! I saw a documentary on Kratom that claimed to help with opioid withdrawals and pain relief. So as soon as I could, I found a source and experimented with dosage. For me, Kratom is a miracle! Withdrawals stopped almost immediately! The pain levels in my back also reduced substantially. No euphoria or unwanted effects have presented. I think Kratom should be really studied for the good of humanity. However, I fear big pharmaceutical companies will block efforts because of potential revenue loss. I hope I am wrong about this last bit."

"I had increasing suicidal thoughts since the early 2000s. I felt helpless and hopeless. I tried several different prescription antidepressants, but their effectiveness would wear off. In addition, these were addictive, although ineffective and financially prohibitive. So then I tried herbal remedies, natural stress relievers, meditation, and so forth. These were a little helpful, but I would have strong unmanageable bouts of depression. This continued for years. I felt so lost. Then a friend mentioned Kratom. I was very skeptical, so I researched and gathered information. In spite of the warnings, I gave it a try, and I found it to be miraculous for me. Occasionally, I have to adjust the mg down or dose times, but it works so well for me. Care must be taken with taking too much because it can make one drowsy for driving, but so can other prescription medications. What is the safe dose? This must be studied. If it wasn't for this herb, I have no doubt that I would not be here."

"I bought my first kilo of Kratom 6 years ago after being enslaved to opiates/heroin/fentanyl for a decade. I overdosed twice and was miraculously found by friends in time. Was spending $300 a day and earning money in terrible and illegal ways to support my addiction. The kilo was only $50. The one kilo lasted me 6 months of daily and heavy use. It completely cured my withdrawal symptoms and gave me my life and money back, more importantly, my life. I have my friends again. I never feel 'high' or inebriated but healthy and happy and free of the flu-like withdrawal symptoms. I am close to my family again, I am proud of the life and career I now have. It saved my life in every way. I am alive and happy thanks to this miracle plant. If you are in the position that I was, please try this! Fentanyl is being laced in everything on the streets and it WILL take your life. I wouldn't be alive if not for kratom."

"Do not listen to bad reviews!! It is a Godsend!! No more Big Pharma!!!! Wake up people!!! I use the green Maeng Da daily from a reputable source. The taste is horrible at first, but you get used to it...but what do you expect it to taste like?! It is natural greens!! It beats everything else I've found thus far. I've had Fibromyalgia and chronic pain for 20 years. Kratom is a LIFESAVER. Are you getting this???? Please don't listen to negative reviews and try for yourself."

"Kratom has been the only herbal supplement that has been effective for a variety of physical, mental, and emotional challenges. I have several debilitating back injuries from an auto accident and severe scoliosis. Surgery was not an option, and spinal injections were ineffective. I was prescribed various opiates for years, with pain management alternating the dosage and drug. This stopped the pain from a few hours to days with transdermal patches. I did not like the side effects. Kratom has provided the only relief that I have ever experienced without opioids. CBD and medical marijuana were horrible for me. Research is very important since there are so many strains for so many symptoms. I have ADD so I use a strain for focus and quit the prescribed medication. The results are incredible for my focus and clarity of thought. I use the red strain for my pain. I use a green strain for increased focus, white for energy, and red for pain. I have my life back."

"Kratom is a miracle drug. I do suffer from back pain due to my work in the restauration being constantly up, never seated. I developed severe back pain due to my hard work at the shop. I took kratom for depression first, but after my first dose, my back pain disappeared completely along with elevated mood and depressive symptoms completely gone. This herb is a godsend, I never stopped using it. I never have a dull day while on it. I can work at my best all the time and be so efficient that I wonder how I managed before and how this herb is not more known. I want everyone to use this herb at least once in their life. This has to be a true revelation for everyone. Love it."

"I have a painful chronic illness. I took 40 mg of oxycodone a day. Now I take Kratom and have no need for the oxycodone. After 2 years of oxycodone use, I began to feel depressed and apathetic. And it was not even getting rid of my pain for more than 30 minutes. I had read about kratom and decided anything was better than oxycodone. After a week of oxycodone withdrawal, the kratom finally took effect. The pain relief is longer lasting and the apathy that comes with typical opioids faded away. I have done a lot of research on Kratom and have a degree in pharmacology. While some can become physically dependent, its withdrawal is lesser than that of SSRI, as far as I know. Due to the benefits I receive from kratom, mild dependency is a fair trade, especially compared to the major withdrawal symptoms that come from SSRI's and opioid pain medication."

"I was in a very bad car accident at the age of 21. I've had several knee surgeries and chronic back pain and was on pain management for years taking oxycodone. A true addict I was. I got tired of it and started looking up natural pain relief solutions. I stumbled upon kratom and my life has changed since the first day I took Kratom. I haven't taken another Percocet. It was truly a Godsend. I can't seem to find an end to the benefits... No more depression, zero pain. Focus, energy, makes me feel young again."

"First, I started to use Kratom to improve my ability to learn during my exams. Kratom is a miracle drug for me, since it has the perfect balance between the stimulants and the sedatives. It has a very unique effect, it doesn't make you numb, yet it won't increase your pulse rate or blood pressure like energy drinks or coffee. Simply, kratom is just right, it gives you energy and relaxation at the same time. I advise you to be careful, since it is quite addictive, so don't use it more than 3 times per week. My first doses were 2.5g (mixed with fruit yogurt or chocolate pudding), now after 3 years of consumption, I raised it to 5g. The effect is short, it only lasts for me like 2 hours. Then you will possibly feel fatigue, dizziness, but nothing serious."

"I have been using kratom for over 3 years now. I am 30 years old, and she's 61. First, you have to find fresh product from a reliable source. No smoke shops, and try to get it locally from someone who’s passionate about it. I don’t like reds (too sleepy), and I get a mixture of 30% white and 70% green with young leaves. I used to spend crazy money on opiate pills and struggled to stop. I started taking kratom and immediately preferred it. They have similar effects as opiates! It can make you hot and sweat. You can feel sedated or jittery. Too much makes you nauseated and causes constipation. I take 3-4 tsp in a water bottle 2-3 times a day and have a mild dependency now. I start to drag after 8 hours without it. Lately, I’ve noticed I feel crappy in the morning. I would run out and feel mild withdrawals for 24 hours (nothing like pills). I spend $100 a month on one kilo for two people. This medicine is so amazing! I don’t even want opiates now."

"I have been using Kratom for pain relief due to back problems, arthritis, carpal tunnel, and I too find it to produce miraculous results. I started using it in 2018 and take it in powder form with orange juice for maximum effects. My only concern is that it may be damaging my liver, but I need to have labs to know for sure. I certainly hope it isn't outlawed in the USA. If so, my quality of life will be greatly reduced."

"I've been using kratom daily for 7 years, and I've never experienced any issues, but I also only use a small amount at a time. Typically, they might say use a teaspoon, but I only use 1/16, 1/8, to 1/4 at a time every several hours. It's more than enough for me and also reduces the chances of getting any side effects. When I first started kratom, I was taking a lot more, and I had side effects and withdrawals. It prompted me to work on reducing, if not dissolving, my usage. I was able to effectively reduce to the amount I listed above daily and not run into any unwanted side effects. As much as I'd love to function without this or without needing anything, unfortunately, that's not possible in this kind of world. I have too much PTSD, anxiety, and social anxiety. Using this makes me less awkward and more sociable with less anxiety as a result. There's no way I can just walk outside to the onslaught of cars and rude people without kratom."

"I take it for extreme arthritis pain that has affected daily activity, even walking. I've tried it every other 2nd or 3rd day, one dose, always skipping a day. 25 mg, in the morning. It seems to break the pain cycle so that the pain is less on the off day as well, but pain increases by the second day. I have experienced no side effects so far, taking it for about two weeks. It does not give me a high other than being more alert, the pain is gone within 30 minutes; giving me a rare quality productive day that I have not experienced for months."

"There is definitely a stigma surrounding kratom and whether or not it is effective and safe. I understand why, but kratom has improved my quality of life so much! I suffer from severe depression and an anxiety disorder. Kratom calms my anxiety and boosts my mood, gives me energy and motivation, and anyone suffering from these things knows that they cause physical pain. Chest pains, body aches, stomach pains, etc., and so kratom calms those pains as well. If you had a bad experience with kratom, I completely understand. But please don’t ruin this amazing plant for those of us that it greatly benefits."

"I have taken 3 grams in the morning and 3 grams in the early evening for two full years. It has stopped my constant diarrhea and stomach aches from IBS. It has also relieved my lower back pain. If the DEA takes this plant off the market, it would be a shame. I am 62 years old and active. I believe anybody reporting dire effects were either combining or totally abusing the substance."

"After more than 20 years hooked on pain pills, I was able to quit using kratom with virtually no withdrawal symptoms. I've been using kratom daily like coffee for an energy boost. It also helped my depression, but most of all, it literally gets rid of my IBS symptoms I had my whole life. Addictive? As addictive as caffeine, candy, etc. I ran out once and went over a week without it and literally had no withdrawal symptoms. Just like anything else, make sure you get good quality kratom."

"I developed lower back and neck pain at age 62. My doctor referred me to a pain clinic. Over the course of six months, I was prescribed hydrocodone (Vicodin), Oxycodone, and finally 30 mg Morphine. None of them have provided much relief. A friend recommended I try Kratom. It worked better than any of the prescribed medications. I currently take 6 grams once a day. Red Bali. 10/10"

"Relieved every ounce of my debilitating depression. It does not make me high... instead, I feel like everything is going to be okay. I have goals, I feel motivated and I am living life. Do not take an overdose or your body will become addicted. Taking too much of anything causes harm. I take between 1-3 tsp. a day depending on the severity of how I am feeling. You need to mix up the variety of kratom you are taking so your body feels like it's trying something new, at least every 30 days. If you eat 2 bags of kratom, you will probably die... this should be clearly obvious. This is not meant to be eaten by the pound, only in small amounts. Also, purchase kratom from a reliable company, not out of a smoke shop with hand-written bags. You don't know what's in those bags. My side effects are morning bitchiness, mild body aches, constipation, and sometimes a runny nose. The pros outweigh the negatives. Kratom saved my life. It's better than any other prescribed medicine and works in 20 mins. Love it."

"I don't know how I stumbled upon kratom. I was taking 15 mg morphine for nerve damage, and it really didn't do anything but make me need more. I wanted to get off but was terrified of withdrawal. Jumped in with both feet, and I haven't looked back. Better than the morphine. Better than an AD. It does not make me euphoric, nor do I have any side effects. I have energy, a positive outlook, get out of bed, get chores done, do my hair, and put on makeup. I could say more, but you get the gist of it. I know it is terrifying to try something new. Start small. Don't go overboard. Figure out the right amount for you. Try different blends. There are people out there that cannot handle, and they want to feel better and need more and more, but that's not how this works. Be happy that you are feeling positive. Good luck!"

"I would like to add to my original post. There are 2 additional side effects that I have observed with kratom, which are similar to what I have experienced with opioids. (1) A cough, it comes and goes with my kratom use. I occasionally cough up a little goo, and it clears up in a day or two after I stop. I don't mean to say I run around coughing all the time, it is just an occasional cough. (2) If I take a lot, I notice a swelling of the lymph nodes in one armpit. This has always returned to normal within one day with reduced consumption."

"A friend recommended kratom to me, as we both suffer from recurring back pain. I had immediate pain relief as well as a lift in my mood for hours. I was a little concerned, as something that makes me feel this good may seem 'too good to be true.' I did switch from the Green Maeng Da to the Red, as the 'mood lift' was considerably more mild for me personally. I've done more research and am concerned about the 'addictive properties,' as explained by some websites. The relief I get from the pain-with merely a dash of the powder-is amazingly beneficial to this point. One week into use."

"I have really bad chronic pain from fibromyalgia and a back and leg injury. Kratom has been a literal lifesaver for me. I didn’t want to live with that pain before I started taking kratom. I take some 1-2 times a day, one of those always being before bed so I can actually sleep. I have had full blood tests done several times and my liver has been fine. Even if kratom is addictive, I don’t mind. After trying several different types of treatments, my options were prescription opioids, kratom, or not being around anymore. The acetaminophen in prescription opioids is terrible for you long-term and it’s almost impossible for doctors to prescribe it long-term. I want to stick around for a while, so kratom was what I picked and it changed my life. I will always be happy I found it. I use it with a shaker bottle and either orange juice (will mess up your teeth if you don’t brush right after) or a heavy black tea with flavoring."

"Long story short: have long-term pain for decades, on many opioids like oxy and fentanyl patches for years. I hated the addiction and had lots of issues. It stops working after a while, and I was scared to increase an already huge dose of oxy at 240 mg a day, then 100 mcg fentanyl, so I had a rapid detox procedure to withdraw painlessly from it and switched to kratom when not having anything was too painful. It’s a mixed bag. It will stop any withdrawal for sure, and if you take enough of it, it will get rid of your pain as well as opioids. It’s cheap, easy to get, and legal in most places. The cons are constipation requiring Miralax and Dulcolax daily. It is addictive for sure, no question, but the withdrawal isn’t as severe as opioids. You’ll become tolerant and will need higher doses. It’s a hassle to consume. It’s a lot of plant material which I put in capsules and need to take large numbers of them daily. Some are lucky to need far less."
"After injuring my back in 2012, I was prescribed 40mg of oxycodone a day, and that continued for the next 6 years. After discovering Kratom, I was able to wean myself off of all opiates within 30 days. I have been using Kratom for more than two years. Last year, I had a set of liver enzyme profile tests taken as a baseline. My concern is that I’ve heard reports that Kratom damages the liver. These tests have just been repeated a year later. First, let me state I make no endorsements, I’m only relating my experiences. I take it about once or twice a day every day. Sometimes I feel slightly euphoric for 10 minutes or so, sometimes I don’t. I feel more energetic, and at 65, that’s a plus, and the back pain relief effects are real. The only adverse effect I’ve experienced is constipation. The liver tests showed no liver damage."
