"Using Soolantra has been life-changing for me. Rosacea hit me hard a month after I turned 30, and for 8 years, I tried everything, and nothing worked well for me. I've been using Soolantra now for 9 months, and my face is completely 'normal.' It does get worse before it gets better. I notice a lot of people have given a 1-star review after using it for just a few days, but you have to give it time. The first 10 days were horrible for me. Worse than my face had ever been! (Bad timing too, as I had to go to NY to see clients that week.) I read that it is killing the mites during those first applications, and your skin is responding to that. Well, after two weeks, I was completely clear. I probably use it about once a week now for maintenance."

"I wrote on here 2/17/19 and thought I’d give an update. Since day 4, my skin has improved dramatically. It is no longer rough and scaly, or as bumpy (which was my main concern), and the redness is still cooling. I still get the occasional papule - and I know you shouldn’t pop them - but as soon as I do, I apply Soolantra to the spot, and it is already gone the next day. I am on day 12 now, and I’m feeling confident so far, but there is still a while to go! Hopefully this works! Best of luck to everyone else!"

"Entire face covered in red patches and breakouts, several lumps under the skin, especially along the jawline. It was terrible. Started Soolantra, and it was worse for about a week and a half. Nearly quit. But then... my skin started to clear a little. I kept going, and slowly it worked better and better. 5 months after starting, only the visible veins on my nose are there, no breakouts, no lumps or pustules. Skin has healed so well. Watch your diet too. Less wheat is important, amazing product. It changed my life. I’ve used it for 7 months."

"I never had suffered from rosacea until I started taking Accutane for acne. The doctor mentioned a side effect was redness and increased sensitivity to the sun, but I assumed this would wear off or go away once I finished the dosage. How wrong I was! I took Accutane for mild acne, which I hugely regret, as the lasting effects have been much worse than the original spots. I stopped taking Accutane 2+ years ago. The spots came back after 12 months, and now I cannot tan. I burn in the sun very easily, blush all the time, especially after a few drinks, and overall have a lot more issues with my skin. I live in the Middle East, so as you can imagine, not an easy place to suffer from this. I started using Soolantra after reading these reviews, and one week in, it's working great. My skin feels smooth, and the spots have gone. Redness I can see is starting to reduce. I just hope this can assist with the flushing also. I have never suffered from this, and it affects me socially quite a bit."

"I have tried a lot of medications for my rosacea (Metrogel, antibiotics, etc.). This is the only medication that has cleared my skin—yes, it does dry my skin, but after a couple of hours, I apply sunblock and face moisturizer, and I’m good."

"I’m a 62-year-old male suffering from rosacea for years. I was using Doxycycline to keep it under control, but decided to try Soolantra, with no antibiotics. Wonderful stuff! It only took 2 weeks to see great improvement and about 2 months to almost forget that I ever had rosacea. My only complaint is the price: a 45 g tube is $200 with insurance here in the US. If you go to Colombia, a 30 g tube sells for just $25!"

"Soolantra isn't nothing short of miraculous. I have had rosacea for the last 6 years. I tried everything. I was using Clinique products for the last 2 years, and they seemed to stop working. My face broke out so badly that I canceled my plans for about a week and would only leave the house if forced, with heavy makeup. I went to a new dermatologist expecting the same old options. She gave me a trial-sized tube of Soolantra, and I saw results almost immediately. My skin tone is so even, it's amazing. I went without it for two days, and the redness started to come back with some blotches. It took about three days using the medication, and it cleared up. I use clear zinc oxide cream over it (SPF 50), and there are days I actually go without makeup."

"I have had rosacea for about a year now. Over the summer, it got substantially worse - my cheeks and chin are very red and covered with small bumps. I tried Metrogel, which did absolutely nothing, so my derm prescribed Soolantra. Within the first couple of days, the difference in texture in my skin was so noticeable. Before, it had felt like sandpaper, and it was suddenly completely smooth. I also saw significant improvement in my skin for the first 10 days. However, around the end of the second week, things got about as bad as they were before I started using Soolantra. I am now at the end of the 4th week, and the flare-up still has not cleared up. I suppose my skin is a tiny bit better than it was before I went on Soolantra, but not a lot. But I know that the mites need time to die off, so I am gritting my teeth and pushing forward. I'm hoping that the huge texture improvement to my skin is a sign that this medicine will eventually work - will update again in a couple of weeks."

"Update just finished a 3 and a half months. Doctor said I should stop now, my skin is still inflamed, and I’m still getting spots. Does it work? If you're lucky. I’d definitely try this before taking any antibiotics. Wish I’d tried it years ago before my skin deteriorated and became so sensitive. My advice to any of the young ones: Wear less makeup, protect your skin barrier, and stay out of the sun. Has it fixed my skin? No. Don’t think they have got the exact chemistry right. But my skin and a lot of rosacea sufferers don’t get on with the Cetaphil base. As I can’t take antibiotics, I’m going to try the zz cream next. Every Derm I’ve seen has been a waste of money, especially in the UK, so don’t waste your money, do your research as the doctors are clueless. Rosacea.org forum is the best place for advice from people who actually suffer from it."

"I have used Soolantra, a very thin application once a day after shower for rosacea for 3 years. It has completely taken care of my rosacea lesions and redness, and my blepharitis has also stopped being a problem. I can skip one or two days, but it is better if I resume by the third day, or it begins to come back."

"I have been suffering from rosacea for around 5 years. I would get persistent red, scaly patches on both cheeks, they would clear up slightly but quickly return. Alcohol definitely made it worsen. I’ve also always been quick to flush if embarrassed. I heard about Soolantra and decided to give it a go in lockdown since I am not going to see anyone at the moment. :) The first evening I put it on, the next morning, my patches had risen and become more noticeable, they even had small, white pustular spots on them, which I’ve never had before! So something was definitely working. Then came the severe itchiness for around 5-7 days. It was so hard not to scratch! I found an ice pack helped with this stage. Then came the flaking, which is the stage I am still going through two weeks in. The patches are still there, but the rest of my face feels very smooth. I think this cream is having a positive effect on me as the redness is not as bad, and the patches feel a little bit smaller, but we will see!"

"I am now on week 6 of Soolantra every night. I wanted to wait until now to give an accurate review. I finished a course of Roaccutane for acne in 2017 and afterwards suffered from easily reddened skin. After a series of illnesses, I developed rosacea. I tried a routine with azelaic acid, I tried cutting all actives, I switched to a low dose of tretinoin, but the severe redness continued. I started Soolantra as a last-ditch attempt to help. Week 1 was hideous. I mean the worst cystic acne type bumps I've had since pre-Roaccutane. Not only were they huge and painful, but every time I checked in the mirror, a new one came. If you feel tempted to try and pop these... think again. Instead of healing in a few days like an acne lesion, they spread in width and redness almost like a bug bite. My usual Duac spot treatments did nothing except burn. Then came the itching and burning of my skin in general. At week 3 to 4 came calmness. Only the odd tiny bump. Week 6, best skin I've had in months."

"Prescribed Soolantra by my dermatologist for rosacea. Day 1, my entire face became inflamed. Bright red with a burning feeling. Day 2, my entire face felt like it was on fire. Used ice to help cool my face. Day 3, my entire face swelled up. Face and jawline were still red with a burning feeling like a sunburn. Called my dermatologist about my symptoms. I was advised to discontinue use. Was told to use Hydrocortisone 1% twice a day for 3 days. Then call back to report. I also took some over-the-counter Benadryl. I feel better already. I had high hopes for Soolantra. I may have an allergy to it. Glad it works for some."

"I was diagnosed with rosacea about 8 years ago. I think it was triggered by stress. I was told it was type 2, papulopustular rosacea. It was a huge shock as I've never even had spots or acne in my whole life. The first time I was prescribed oral antibiotics and metronidazole, it took 2 months to bring it under control. After that, I used to get outbreaks once or maybe twice a year, but found metronidazole took too long to work. Then, 4 to 5 years ago, I heard about Soolantra. I got it on prescription, and since then I haven’t used anything else. It’s brilliant, it works quickly, and the redness and pustules reduce within 2 days. I actually had a flare-up last week and started using it 6 days ago, and it has almost gone. For me, it’s the best treatment around. I also wash my face with glycerin and rose hip organic soap. I've just ordered a new soap, which I read is really good for rosacea, it is made with goat milk and honey or with oatmeal or coconut oil."

"I’ve been using Soolantra since October, and it definitely got rid of the patchy red skin I got on my cheeks. I'm still using it now, and I go through a week or two of clear skin, then I have a reaction for no reason for like a week. I’m starting to think I have Demodex mites, as I’ve read all of these reviews. If I have Demodex mites, should I be using Soolantra at night as they are more active at night?"

"I have been using Soolantra for one week so far. I still have pustules and scaly patches, but they are improving. Almost from day one, the itching and heat have gone! I have had rosacea for 13 years and had forgotten how normal feels. Even if my skin gets no better, it is worth it just for that."

"I've tried all the lotions and potions, and nothing helped. After decades of daily acne-like facial breakouts and cysts, my dermatologist offered me samples of Soolantra Cream to apply to my face daily. After just ONE application, all new breakouts stopped, and within a few weeks, my skin was noticeably clearer. I've been using it daily for 3 months now, and the improvement is remarkable. The cream is very lightweight, non-greasy, and easy to apply. It has NO fragrance or odor, which is very important to me. My pharmacist said it was the first time she had dispensed it and asked me how it worked - great! No side effects! The cost is very expensive though, around $330 for a 30 g tube. I paid $35 after insurance and a manufacturer's card."

"I have struggled with rosacea for many, many years. I don’t like to wear makeup every day, but have to due to this. After finally consulting with a dermatologist, he diagnosed me with two types of rosacea. He prescribed me Soolantra. I have good insurance, so it was free. When used daily, it works really well. When I don’t wear makeup now, I feel more confident because I don’t look like I’m constantly embarrassed or hungover. I experience no side effects. I’m very happy with it and will continue using it to combat my rosacea."

"Soolantra has completely cured me of all of my rosacea-related acne and has substantially, if not completely, reduced the redness on my face. After various treatments, both topical and oral, and many frustrating years of nothing working, this was it. It’s my magic cream!"

"UPDATE: I last wrote 3/14/19, at which point I’d been on Soolantra for mild perioral dermatitis (a form of rosacea) for a month, and my skin was clear - no bumps, no redness, no spots! However, 2 months in, and my skin is breaking out again. I wake up to at least 2 new bumps or big whiteheads every day, and whilst they only last about 2 days, it is still very annoying and makes me self-conscious. However, I know that there are ups and downs in treatment, and I still have a month left, so I will update in due course as to whether this is “normal” or if Soolantra is no longer working for me. Best of luck to others!"

"Soolantra is the best way of controlling outbursts of flare-ups for my rosacea. I apply Soolantra in the morning after I have my shower, and less than 30 minutes after I have applied Soolantra, the redness has faded so much, it's fantastic. I have Soolantra on my face for a maximum of an hour each morning before I start my usual skin care routine and apply my makeup. I have no confidence, but it would now be possible to go makeup-free. The lumpy effect of rosacea is virtually nonexistent now, and it is impossible to tell that I am a rosacea sufferer now with my makeup on, as there are no tell-tale lumps to give the game away. I strongly recommend this product. I have tried many medications, home remedies, and food avoidance, nothing worked this well."

"This medicine is fantastic. I was diagnosed with Type I rosacea two years ago, and my skin was getting increasingly red and angry. Luckily, my doctor prescribed Soolantra as the first approach. Within a few weeks, I no longer looked flushed and blotchy all the time. I did not notice any getting worse at first, the redness just slowly faded away and did not come back. It also made my skin look much brighter and smoother. I still have a slight purple-red area on one cheek by my ear that has not totally gone away, so it might not be able to heal all the damage. But on a day-to-day basis, it is definitely effective. The only downside to the medication is the price. However, I was able to get it through a mail-order discount pharmacy for $50-$75 per tube. This is not cheap, but you really only need a tiny amount each day, so each tube lasts for literally months."

"I have had pretty bad rosacea all my life, which means redness and those small red acne scar marks. It was mainly all over my cheeks. I've tried so many different creams, and honestly, half of them I wasn't consistent with because I was convinced nothing was ever going to help my face. I was prescribed Soolantra to see if it could help combat my redness and the acne marks. After the first night I used it, my face was flushed red and burning. After a couple of days, I didn't recognize my skin. I had so many whiteheads, the texture was rough, and I had red dots everywhere. I was honestly freaking out because my skin never was that bad. But I decided to read the reviews, and I saw everyone saying that they had similar symptoms and to not give up, to stick by it because it does work. I somehow managed to stick to it and stay consistent, and when I tell you my skin never looked like this before, I mean it. Keep taking it and don’t give up! It is worth it!"

"I've been using Soolantra for a few years with great success in lowering the inflammation in my face, decreased redness, and blushing. The first few days I used the Ivermectin cream, I noticed the skin barrier on my flaking cheeks started to heal, and my skin appeared much less inflamed with continued use. I'm a BIG blusher but was starting to get a few tiny red bumps on the bridge of my nose, which went away in the first week of use. Soolantra has given me the freedom to live a normal life again."

"Today I feel sad. I have been using Soolantra for 7 weeks now. The first 3 days were terrible, with major redness, itching, and lots of pimples. But then they disappeared, and also the bumps that I have had for several months started to reduce in size. My cheeks have had a very strange texture because of the rosacea, but they now got smooth and less red. I have rosacea on my nose and cheeks. So I was happy until now, week 7, when suddenly it seems to go in the wrong direction. I have a breakout that is really bad, with itching, pimples, and more redness than before I started. I know it says that you should continue for 12 weeks, so I will do that. I will come back and tell what happened. But I wanted to share my experience since I know how hard it is to have rosacea and also to read only stories that include people who got rid of it only in two weeks. I have type 2 with p&p, but I also have redness with broken blood vessels."
