"I had never had any symptoms of Rosacea, but after a bad allergic reaction to essential oils in a face serum I used, my skin went haywire. For months it got worse and worse, and when I finally went to a dermatologist, I was in disbelief when she diagnosed me with Rosacea. My face was a demodex playground, red and rough and covered in tiny bumps. So I started Soolantra, and within a couple of weeks, my skin got worse. Much worse. So I came here and started reading reviews and almost cried when I read people's reports of clear skin within days. But then I saw the reviews that said it can get worse before it gets better, the ones that said to stick with it, so I stuck with it. It wasn't pretty, and it was slow going, but I've been using Soolantra for a little over three months now, and I am so grateful to say that my skin is about 90% better. This cream really does work if you stick with it, so please keep the hope if you're in the rough phase and know things WILL GET BETTER. <3"

"So, I have struggled with my skin for the past year, and I am 27. I had clear skin all through high school and college. All of a sudden at 26, my face erupted with rosacea and acne. I went back on birth control, which got rid of my acne, but I was still left with rosacea. Please, people, it is so rough at first. Whiteheads all over and I wanted to cry and lock myself in my room every single day. You really need to have patience with this. The only thing that kept me hanging on was hope it would get better, and no lie coming onto here and reading the reviews. I am now on week seven and only have one small patch of rosacea left! My skin has never been this clear. I am begging all of you, do not give up. I know you want to, I know how hard it is, but don't. If you feel like giving up, come on here and read the reviews. It has taken me seven weeks to see better skin, this doesn't happen overnight. I check this site all the time, so if you have questions, let me know. I will update around week 12."

"For those saying it got worse - yes, it will if you have a lot of demodex. When demodex die, they release bacteria from the gut. THIS is what causes the reaction in the skin, so when you initially start killing them, you have a massive die-off reaction. I had it from tea tree oil. PLEASE keep going. If you stop, you are allowing them to come back and keep breeding. The die-off is totally expected and normal. Again, if your skin got worse, it's a die-off of demodex and it WILL clear once you kill them. If it's really bad, go on an antibiotic while you kill them off, this helped me tremendously to get through that period. :)"

"I have been using Soolantra for 1 month tomorrow for Papulopustular rosacea. In the past, I used Doxycycline 50mg, which worked so well. I stopped using Doxy, and the rosacea came back due to being exposed heavily to my personal triggers. When I started using Soolantra 1 month ago, it really hit my self-esteem hard. It really does get worse before it gets better. I want to write this review because I know how close I came to giving up. This topical medication is supposed to take 12 weeks, and that's something I needed to keep reminding myself. I would often read these reviews and see miracle results by some who it worked for instantly, and I'd get very down. Now 1 month later, I can confidently say my bumps are nearly gone, it happened almost overnight after a month of inflammation. Please, please don't give up and remember that if it gets worse, it means it's working. It's so worth the wait, trust the process. You can do it!!! Stay strong"

"My experience with Soolantra is similar to Grateful’s. Skin reddening and becoming more sun-sensitive, bumps and pustules got me to the GP, a disastrous prescription of flucloxacillin that multiplied the bumps and pustules a hundredfold and caused me to have 2 weeks off, but fortunately got me to an excellent dermatologist. The dermatologist prescribed washing with Dermol500 and applying Soolantra. I have been using it now since 17 April (today is 23 May) and in that time, it has cleared all lumps, bumps, scales, rash, redness and amazingly (to me) stopped the strange flushing feeling that would creep across my face like an allergic reaction several times a day. I have been almost crying in gratitude with the relief from the pain and itching."

"UPDATE: I last wrote here 17/4/19. I finished my three-month course on Soolantra for Perioral Dermatitis. Here’s a brief summary of what my skin was like during: Days 1-2: immediately cleared up everything. Days 3-14: huge flare-up - I’d wake up with 2/3 new papules each morning, and the cream made my skin itch like anything. Weeks 3-4: major improvement, barely any papules left, and my nose area had completely cleared. I also noticed I no longer itched after applying the cream! Weeks 5-8: started to get more papules on my chin, and the nose area flared up again. Weeks 9-11: probably the worst time - I now started to get 1-3 BIG whiteheads around my chin area, that said, they never lasted long (about 1-2 days). The best way to deal with these is to have a steamy shower because often they will pop naturally, then apply soolantra straight after! Week 12: now my skin is completely clear and smooth! I’m so happy! Really hoping this helps!"

"I began with dry, red-looking skin with pimples after I gave birth to my daughter 6 years ago. Many dermatologists (to be exact, 5) told me I was having eczema. However, none of their medications and topical cream worked. Sadly, there was nothing I could do to make my skin look and feel better. I was very depressed and almost gave up. Until less than 1 month ago, my aesthetic doctor shared with me about Soolantra for Rosacea. I did my research and stumbled onto Drugs.com site. After reading many pages of reviews, I plucked up my courage to search for a clinic that sells Soolantra. This is my 3rd week of using Soolantra - I am able to put on makeup since week 2 (my skin was so texturized with HUGE pores and raised skin). During the first 2 weeks, I did have a couple of tiny pimples and little redness. Right now, my skin feels smooth, pores are less visible, less redness. This site has 'encouraged' me to make the right decision. Now, I am paying it forward to help others. =)"

"Stick with it!! I have type 1 (redness and flushing) and the first week or so it got worse. However, now my skin is so smooth and I don’t have any flushing when I drink alcohol, coffee, or eat anything spicy. Even in the sun, I don’t go as red as I used to. Day to day, my face is still a little bit pink, but I’ve only been using Soolantra for 2 weeks. Definitely recommend - please try and stick through the first 1-2 weeks if you can!"

"Me again! This is the second time I’ve used Soolantra to treat my perioral dermatitis and I highly recommend it. For those of you who are unsure whether Soolantra’s working for you: it is so common for your skin to flare up and get spottier/itchier in the first month, that’s just how the cream works. After that, your skin will probably be as dry as anything and this is normal too. Some useful tips are: 1) Only wash your face with warm water - absolutely NO exfoliating. 2) If you do pop your pustules, try to do it just before you shower and apply the cream straight after when your face is still wet (this thins the cream so that it doesn’t clog your pores as much!). 3) If your skin is flaking, do NOT use moisturizer as it breaks you out. Sadly, you just have to leave the flakes as picking at it damages the healing skin below. Really hope this helps and good luck to everyone!"

"I had terrible rosacea flare-ups in lockdown and tried Soolantra. Days 1-3, a glimpse of the future! The most amazing baby skin overnight! The next couple of weeks, tremendous die-off flare-ups, itching, red, spotty, dry, and awful. Now, week four, my skin is clear and baby soft. I do not think it has looked like this for 40 years!"

"BEYOND grateful! I have been struggling with my skin for 2 years. When the dermatologist told me it was demodex, I was in denial. Then I found you all. And all I can say is MANY, MANY thanks!!!! I realized from your comments that it would get worse before it got better (it did get worse for day 3-5), and my skin truly feels softer and smoother than it has in several years!! I would have been frustrated and told the doctor that it wasn't working had I not found all your encouraging comments. I realize that not every medication works for every person, but I too encourage you to try it for the full 12 weeks. Grit your teeth and know that you are beautiful/handsome no matter what your face happens to be going through at the moment. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. You helped me get through the tough period, and I'm forever thankful."

"I had been suffering with this awful rash over my nose bridge and nostrils. It then decided to move to other areas of my face. I have never suffered so much as a pimple in my 71 (male) years, and then for the past three years, this. I had tried all sorts of potions and tablets. The tablets get to the root of the problem, which is usually in the gut. It was these spots (pustules) that were causing me problems. They were even very painful to touch. I got my doctor to prescribe me Soolantra. Well, it got worse and worse, but I stuck with it! It takes time, quite a time. A thin film once a day. As some have already stated, you have to stick with it, then suddenly the spots turn to small, hard pimples, then they get smaller by the day, and you do notice it daily. I mean really notice it. All I have now are two little tiny red dots left to go, and I reckon by the end of this week, they will be gone. Please, please stick with it. It will work."

"I have battled perioral dermatitis / papopustular rosacea for over 10 years and tried countless treatments from oral antibiotics to topical clindamycin to tea tree oil to light therapy to immunosuppressant creams, and absolutely nothing worked until I tried Soolantra. After using Soolantra for a month, my skin cleared up 100%. I am writing this review because I used to scour the internet for information about how to treat my skin, and I want people with this problem to know that I finally found something that has worked for me."

"Day 14 of Soolantra - I keep reading over and over all the reviews to try and stay positive and stick with this treatment - it’s so hard! I can barely look at myself in the mirror - my rosacea has gotten so much worse and I know this is meant to happen, but Lord, it is a tough journey! The only thing keeping me going is these reviews - that there are better skin days coming my way. I’ve just gotta stick with it for another 10 weeks or so!"

"For the first two months that I used Soolantra religiously, every day, I saw absolutely no difference in my rosacea. But suddenly at about the 10-week mark, my rosacea began improving every day. Three months later of daily Soolantra use, and my rosacea is easily 95% improved. So this was definitely a slow process, and I’m so glad I stuck with it. My 52-year-old skin hasn’t looked better in years. No more rosacea, even tone, brightness. But don’t give up on the Soolantra if it takes a couple of months for it to start working for you."

"I've had very ugly skin for the past 12 years. I've tried basically everything under the sun - Accutane, Lymecycline, Differin, Omega-3 supplements, D3, chemical peels, Nizoral, repairing my moisture barrier... And after those 12 years, my skin still looked the same - dehydrated, permanently red, with huge pores, and orange peel-like texture with hundreds of tiny skin-colored bumps. The ONLY THING that has helped with my problems is Soolantra. Turns out, all these years my skin had a mite problem... I just started Week 10 and my skin hasn't looked this good in over a decade. The redness has gone down substantially, the awful texture is like 80% gone... My skin doesn't even feel overly oily at the end of the day, it just feels NORMAL... Please give this cream a try, but remember to stick to it, I only started noticing actual results after 8 weeks! For the first two months, my skin was going back and forth between purging and then returning to its regular ugly appearance. Don't give up!"

"My rosacea was mostly redness. I didn’t often have pimples. I also had a big problem with demodex, which made my skin feel thick and very rough. Soolantra was a godsend! For the first week, I applied it every other night & there was a bit of tingling, which I had been warned about. My rosacea seemed to get a little worse for the first few days, and after using it for about a week, my cheeks started peeling & that lasted for a few days. At the end of 3 weeks, I couldn’t believe how smooth my skin was! It hasn’t been this smooth in years! I have tried other topical medicines but nothing has ever worked this well! I apply it at night after cleansing & before applying my moisturizer. Sometimes there will be a brief burning or tingling sensation, but that only lasts for a few seconds - totally worth it for how clear & smooth my skin is!"

"I consulted with four different dermatologists, so I had a lot of opinions. One of them even dismissed Ivermectin as a solution for rosacea, despite all evidence saying it is the most effective medication known thus far to treat it. Well, I got prescribed Ivermectin 1% and wow. What a change. My skin is completely clear. No one knows that only a few months ago my face was red. Rosacea is a multifactorial disease, thus requiring a multifactorial approach. I took antibiotics for a short while (Minocycline). Ivermectin, though, was the real game changer, as it made a significant impact only two weeks after I started using it, and it kept getting rid of the redness - I got clear around week 14 to 16. Also, Ivermectin WORKS for what people mistakenly know as 'Type 1' (the typing system was abandoned several years ago). My advice: try Ivermectin 1% as a first line of therapy."

"This has been a miracle cream for me! I’ve struggled with rosacea since my teens and am now 40. Tried it all with not much success. After using Soolantra for 2 months, my skin is now calm and clear with no spots at all, and it’s amazingly soft! I read a lot of reviews on here, so was prepared for the die-off and flare-up, which, luckily for me, wasn’t that bad. My night routine is CeraVe cream to foam cleanser, then Soolantra, I don’t use anything on top as the base is moisturizing enough for me. I can’t recommend this product enough, I finally feel like I have skin that behaves normally again!"

"I started using Soolantra on the 22nd of March. The first 3 weeks were terrible: burning sensation, a huge rush all over my face, very dry skin, and lots of spots, and today my skin is so nice and soft. I will still use it for the next couple of months, but for all of you who have a similar experience, do not give up! This cream is a miracle, and I cannot recommend it enough. I have never had this baby skin in my entire life!!"

"I started using Soolantra when it first came on the market. It has completely resolved my rosacea. Let me go back to what led me to first try it. I’ve had rosacea for about 20 years. I tried Metro Gel, which aggravated my condition, Finacea, which did nothing. I remember going to a cosmetic counter to buy lipstick and asking the cosmetician for a recommendation. She told me nothing would work with my cheeks. During the chappy fall months, my cheeks would turn bright red and sometimes purplish. Soolantra not only calmed the red, but my skin is less reactive to this type of weather condition. I am so grateful, I am basically ‘cured.’"

"I am 37 years old and just had my first rosacea breakout about a year ago. I didn’t know what was going on with my face. I had huge, painful bumps with pus in them all over my cheeks and nose. It was so embarrassing. Makeup just made it look worse. I went to the dermatologist, and she diagnosed me with rosacea and prescribed me Soolantra, along with a cleanser. I am on my 2nd month, and my face has never looked better. The results weren’t instant. It did take about 4 weeks. But I can’t get over how great my skin looks. I even get compliments!!"

"I already wrote a review but was at seven weeks and now I am at about 12. No rosacea left, just some redness and hyperpigmentation from when I had it! Use the medicine for the full course, please, it is so very important. I used metro gel and everything under the sun that never worked or helped with my skin issue. I got so irritated from weeks 1-5 because it didn't seem to be working. I even reached out to my derm, and she told me to keep going. Thank God I did! These reviews helped so much. This will not happen overnight, give it time. Good luck, everyone :)"

"When I was prescribed Soolantra, I came here to read the reviews before taking. I wanted to give back to the community by sharing the results I've experienced. In short, Soolantra has been a miracle for me. After 2 decades of metronidazole topical that occasionally got rosacea somewhat under control but never fully there, and now I have had flawless skin for 4 months. I'm stunned by its effectiveness. It's somewhat embarrassing how many people have noticed the improvement, reminding me how bad it was before. Soolantra is an antiparasitic. I wonder if for those where it works, like me, mites are behind our breakouts. Perhaps when it doesn't work, it's a different cause? I wish you all the best of luck and hope you find the treatment that works for you. It makes a huge difference!"

FYI, for my horse, I have been getting Durvet ivermectin (bought at farm stores for horses), which is just a pure and slightly stronger version of Soolantra. For $2.50!!!"
