Remicade (infliximab) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "My wife had RA from when she was a child. She had used the normal meds till Remicade. She was in Japan and started on Remicade in Apr 2007 and died in Feb 2008 from the reactions/side effects to it. I advise that if you get any of the side effect symptoms, see your doctor right away. I have found that if you get one symptom, you will get more. There are 3 pages of side effects/reactions."

Inflectra (infliximab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "Watch out for Inflectra. I originally discussed with my doctor about using Remicade for my P-Arthritis and psoriasis because it is covered by Medicare and Humira is not. However, when I went in, I was given Inflectra instead. The nurses tell you it's the same thing or a generic version. They use the Inflectra for prescribed Remicade patients because it costs less. The Inflectra worked on my first two infusions, but by the third injection, it was useless. My arthritis and psoriasis came back in full force. At the last infusion, I had an allergic reaction to the Inflectra at the hospital and was told by the nurse that I almost ended up in the ER. Then, when I told the nurse that the Inflectra wasn't working anyway, she told me to demand Remicade and they would have to give it to me. A report about the allergic reaction and Inflectra not working went to my doctor, and now I am supposed to start Remicade this weekend. I'll post a review on Remicade once I have had a few treatments."

Remicade (infliximab) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was on Remicade for the past four years. It has recently started giving me bad reactions during the infusion. My arthritis would also flare 1.5-2 weeks after the infusion. Loved Remicade, hated how expensive it was."

Remicade (infliximab) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Have had 4 Remicade infusions in combination with MTX and Plaquinil. The 1st infusion was great and all my pain was gone. I thought OMG a miracle drug! Then, 2nd infusion I had a reaction which felt like I was having a stress test performed, a bit scary, and then the hands and feet broke out with a horrible psoriasis-type rash which I have never had before (and still can't seem to cure). 3rd infusion with Benadryl injection was 6 hours of slight reaction and then little or no relief from the pain. 4th injection with twice as much Benadryl prior to the injection and 10 hours of reaction while being infused and zero relief after. The fact. I gave up on Remicade."

Remicade (infliximab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "Used for psoriatic arthritis, the 1st of 3 IV infusions that work great to begin with! From joints becoming near normal to a bounce in my step - then the canker sores are the 1st sign I'm flaring! I went through 2 severe reactions before realizing it was the drug, which required immediate emergency attention as it affected my breathing, had hives, and 2 weeks of misery. If only my body didn't find ways to subvert all the docs do to try & help it! It's frustrating!"

Remicade (infliximab) for Ulcerative Colitis "Have had Ulcerative Colitis for 4 years. 3 years ago, started Remicade at 5 ml per kilo, with only mild help. The only other choice was surgery. Switched doctors who immediately doubled the dose to 10 ml (which I think is the normal dose), so I probably was under-medicated for 2 years. However, the higher dose has not helped much more. Have had almost no side effects. One allergic reaction early on to the infusion. The only minor problem is the skin on my hands and arms seems very thin and very easily bleeds from the slightest scratch. So for me, it has not worked as hoped."

Remicade (infliximab) for Ulcerative Colitis "Initially helped me for around 1 1/2 years, then began to lose its potency, and the last two treatments had a bad reaction the night of treatment. More important, platelet count went from normal to around 45,000. No longer taking Remicade, and my platelet count is normal now."

For Ulcerative Colitis, Maintenance "So I was diagnosed on May 29th with colitis, and when I got diagnosed first, I was on steroids, but I got into a bad flare-up. They thought I needed surgery, but they found infliximab. It helped so much on the first three doses, but when I went on September 5th, I got a reaction, so we stopped the infusion. Last week, my doctor tried it again, and it still reacted badly with me. My doctor found out why my body didn’t accept infliximab anymore, it was because my immune system had gotten stronger, so this medicine only helps you when your immune system is down low. Right now, I’m on my way to get my Humira injection, which I’m a bit scared for. Davina from England."
