For Asthma, Maintenance "Flovent helped me with my symptoms for the first two weeks. After continuing use for a period of a month, I started having a weird burning sensation in my chest, a sore throat all the time followed by dizziness and inflammation of the throat. I have stopped using on my own for three days now, and my symptoms are not back, but I no longer get dizzy or have a sore throat."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I had a similar experience to some of the other posters. Sore throat, hoarseness, coughing up green phlegm. Doc told me to discontinue for now. It does seem that I’ve used my rescue inhaler less since, but not sure if it’s worth the side effects."

For Asthma, Maintenance "Picked up my prescription - 200 mcg - 6 days ago. After taking the prescribed dosage for 2 days, developed hoarseness and sore throat. Did not take any dosage for the past 3 days. I'm not sure the medicine is helping me if this is the reaction I have. The doctor said I should take a 1/2 dose today, and then every other day. I'm considering consulting a new doctor for advice."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have used this for over a year. Absolutely no side effects from the Flovent HFA. The powder type irritated my throat and caused hoarseness. Highly recommend the Flovent HFA for mild asthma. And yes, if you stop it, it will take you 2 weeks to get back to normal again."

For Asthma, Maintenance "Have had asthma all my life. Asthma specialist had me on Qvar and felt great. Insurance stopped paying and was put on Flovent. Lungs went downhill in a week. Sore chest, wheezing, coughing on and off all day, and throat was sore, lung function test way down. A year later, insurance changed and I was put back on Qvar. Symptoms are gone and lung function is up and almost normal!! Thank God!"

For Asthma, Maintenance "I've been on Flovent for a number of years, and it is the only asthma medicine that has ever worked for me. I am now 73, and have had asthma since my late 30s. I had tried many treatments and had to use my rescue inhaler quite often, but after being on Flovent, I now only have to do 1 puff every other day for maintenance. The only side effect has been a scratchy throat and phlegm in the mornings, and it has affected my voice a bit. But that is worth it, being able to breathe!"
