"Fluticasone propionate (FP) is an older medicine that is no longer made under the brand name Flovent but is still available as a generic. When my insurance stopped covering it, I was forced to try two other maintenance inhaler meds that were completely ineffective for me or made the asthma worse. After months of use of the last one, I was on the verge of an emergency room visit when I happened to find an old (10+ years old!) FP inhaler among my things. It was like it was sent from GOD! I started using it and recovered in about a month. I told my doctor that I'm not going to be a test rabbit with any more meds that the insurance company forces, I want to stay on what works! So she is now doing the paperwork to demand coverage by the insurance company."
