For Birth Control "I've been on Trinessa for almost a month now. I'm 18 and ever since I was 15, my periods have been outta wack! I skip 3 months at a time with no period. My doctor put me on Trinessa and so far I haven't had anything wrong! The only thing is I hate the placebo pills. My period has been Terrible! I have TERRIBLE back and stomach cramps, but my bleeding isn't so bad. I highly recommend it to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I have taken this pill for 11 years. I got on it after the birth of my first son on 2005. I have had no problems and I like that my cycles are light and last for only 4 days. I got off the pill in 2008 for a planned pregnancy. I got pregnant right away had my second son in 2009 and went right back on this pill and have had no problems at all. I am hoping to have another successful planned pregnancy so I am currently off the pill but I plan on going back on them. I am completely satisfied."

For Birth Control "I've started using Tri-nessa in order to skip my period -which is supposed to happen while I'm on my Caribbean vacation. I usually have a period that lasts 7 days. Just last month, while on Tri-Nessa, I had a period that lasted TWO ENTIRE WEEKS!! And I didn't miss one pill! I'm terribly worried that the same thing is going to happen this month. By the way, I never had this problem with Ortho-Tricyclen."

For Birth Control "I've been on Trinessa for almost 3 years because my period is out of whack, it's the only thing that works. My period comes every 4th week of the month. The first week I started taking it I felt like crap. I had almost every side effect but my doctor told me to keep taking it. It helped with my migraines and cleared up my skin. The only side effects I have now are bad cramps and back aches but other than that.. LOVE IT! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND."

For Acne "Not sexually active, so I can't tell how it helps in pregnancy prevention. It did stop spotting in between periods, but it destroyed my skin. Particularly along my jawline (jawline acne is typically hormonal), my skin broke out the entire duration of using Trinessa. It was the hard, painful acne that left behind dark marks when they had run their course. I stayed on the pill for three months to make sure it was a the pill causing the acne, and it was. During the placebo pill week when you get your period, my skin would clear up. Until I had to start the pill again, that is. Beyond that, my emotions were so out of whack on this pill that I was constantly on the verge of tears when I am a silly, easygoing girl who is extremely positive."

For Acne "Works very well for me, my skin got better. I used to have breast tenderness 10 days before period and very bad stomach cramps first 3 days every month, now it's gone. I have been on Tri-Nessa for 1 year, it hasn't made me gain any extra weight, don't have any mood swings."

For Birth Control "Hey everyone. So I have been taking birth control for the last 8 years for my period. I was having a period every two weeks so I was put on the pill when I was 13. I am 21 years old now. I got put on Tri-nessa about two years ago. I don't remember the name of my birth control before then. But it worked so well for me, cleared my acne, easy periods, no problems....until last week. I got admitted into the hospital on Friday for a blood clot in my left lung. I have no family history of clots and I don't smoke so they ruled it that it was the birth control. I wanted people to know to be careful. Because I'm so young to have something like this happen. So please take with caution. It's a very slim chance but it happened to me."

For Birth Control "Before having my daughter I was on Desogen for 5 yrs, with an amazing experience. It took me two yrs to get pregnant after stopping. Requested the same after baby with little difference. Had to switch 3 months ago for insurance reasons and have been miserable since. I am way more moody (weepy/short fuse), I've gained 5-7 lbs. Terrible bloating the week before my period as well as nausea/vomiting and bad cramps a few days before. Worst symptom: complete destruction of my sex drive. Like... I could really care less. I also started a week early this time for some reason. I am switching back next month and paying the $32 dollars a month until my doctor decides he believes me when I say that one child is enough for me. "

For Birth Control "I started Trinessa about 2 months ago while visiting family.vThe 1st day was seemingly perfect. My period ended within hours of taking it. Then the 2nd day we went to the water park and I was attacked by a horrible bout of nausea. I ended up vomiting at the water park then 2 more times later that afternoon. I took it the next day and 4 more days following and threw up 3 times each day about 4 hours after taking the dosage. I had no choice but to quit taking it. I couldn't handle the nausea and ongoing sickness. "

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Nessa for about a year. But I have had one pretty serious side effect, vaginal discharge. I honestly did not think about it being a side effect when it started. I went to my doctor and they treated it as a yeast infection but nothing helped. My doctor told me I was just one of the few women that had regular discharge. Now that I have been off of Tri-Nessa for only a month, the discharge has stopped. I am now going to try and change medications."

For Birth Control "I wanted to share my review with trinessa. I came here to read some reviews about 5 months ago or so I was scared to try this birth control my insurance made me switch from OrthoTriCyclenLo (after over 5 years). First month I immediately started breaking out like crazy and it only worsened as the time went by. By the third month I did not want to go out and show my face it was awful. But I did not want to give up on this birth control it should be almost indentical to ortho right so why wouldnt it work for me. I almost gave up on it until the fourth month my skin started to clear up. The redness is now completely gone my skin is soft glowing I am going into my 5th month now my skin feels amazing. I would suggest to give it some time."

For Birth Control "I began taking Tri- Nessa to clear up my skin. I have never had perfectly clear skin, but before and during my period my skin ( including back and shoulders) would break out horribly. After only a week of the pill, I noticed my skin was very clear. I have never had such amazing skin! During my period I still get a few zits, but not bad enough to wear makeup. My period never starts until the 5th placebo, and has always been short, but I no longer cramp! My mood is stable, and I have gone up a cup size. I am stopping the pill due to a 10 pound, in three month, weight gain. I'm a runner, and have always been able to maintain my weight. I intake 2000 calories, burn a 2400/day and went from 120 to 131 in 3 months."

For Birth Control "I have been on the pill for about 3 weeks now and I recently started getting some side effects. My breasts are really sore (hurting) and they feel really tender. I feel bloated and I even look bloated. I also noticed I get really nauseated at night. Also my contact lenses just recently started bothering me. They are getting dry and they feel like I have something in my eyes but I don't. My face has cleared up though! I just really hope these bad side effects don't last too long cause it really sucks and my body doesn't feel the same! :("

For Birth Control "I'm on my 7th month now on this pill and it helps my adult acne at least 90%, I still get this occasional breakout before my period but it's very mild. I was very hesitant to try any birth control before because I'm very sensitive and I have tried some other ones before and I cannot even last over a week and I would get very sick like dizzy & the hot flashes. This pill have controlled my acne, my face used to be soo oily especially towards the end of the day and that experience totally stopped. I continue to stay active and control my intake like normal so I never gain weight, if ever I would gain a little weight that because I'm eating too much junk and not being disciplined. I think Trinessa changes my life a lot."

For Birth Control "First birth control I've ever tried and very pleased with it. Skin improved by about 90% and my awful cramps are virtually gone. Have not experienced any type of depression or anxiety. If anything I've had less because I'm less stressed out about my face and getting pregnant! May have slightly gained weight (around 10lbs) but I believe that is more because of changes with my exercise at this time. Side effects with birth control are highly variable. Don't be afraid to protect yourself!"

For Birth Control "No real problems here. A in pregnancy prevention in my book. I admit to not being as regular about it as I should, and sometimes miss pills. The worst that has happened as a result is irregular periods. They've come almost always after I've messed up taking my doses, so I accredit it to that. My only complaint is that it's always a bit hard to remember to take them. Not much anybody can do about that except me, I suppose."

For Birth Control "I had been on Ortho-Tri cyclen for over ten years which worked great for me. I lost my insurance 2 years ago & my Dr put me on Trinessa. I have always had bad acne even in my 30's & on Ortho. Trinessa has totally cleared up my face!!! I feel so attractive now! I do have depression & am on medication for that. I have not had any bad side effects from Trinessa. The only thing (which is minor to me) is that I sometimes spot a tiny bit in between periods but not every month. My boobs also become tender during my period but they haven't grown :( Overall, I LOVE Trinessa!!!"

For Birth Control "I got a prescription for trinessa about 5 months ago, mostly just to help with my acne, and so far so good. My breakouts last a shorter amount of time and are smaller in size. My period has also gotten shorter and lighter and I hardly get cramps at all. The only drawback is that in the first 2-3 months or so I would get dizzy, slight headaches, and a little more fatigued than usual. Other than that this pill works great. My acne hasn't completely gone away, but it does help."

For Birth Control "I've been on all kinds of birth control since having my son 21 years ago. I got on Trinessa cause my current insurance doesn't cover for the Ortho Tri-Cyclen lo I was on before. I'm almost 40 and have had a problem with acne my whole life, even while being on the Ortho Tri-Cyclen lo. Well I am VERY happy with Trinessa because my face has cleared up & looks beautiful for the 1st time in my life! My periods only last 4 days which is awesome. So far I've been on Trinessa almost a year & will definitely continue it."

For Birth Control "I began taking this medicine primarily to not get pregnant and a little for the acne part. I have not gotten pregnant and it really didn't do much for my skin. You definitely need to have food in your system when you take it, I figured that out the hard way. My only complaint on this is I have TERRIBLE mood swings with this medicine and it has worsened my already present anxiety and depression. I thought it was just me but other women I know taking this have said the same thing. Going to talk to my doctor about switiching during my next appointment because the moods are unbearable & affecting my relationships."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this for 3 months now. Cons: I have always worked out 5-6 days a week and still have gained about 8-10lbs since starting this pill. Has caused bloating, loss of sex drive, and quite often nausea. Pros: Skin looks a little better, periods are regulated, and cramps are exceedingly less. But to be honest many of those weren't really much of an issue before, the only one was the cramps and that I just had to make sure to have some Advil or something on hand. So... in the end not a huge fan of this."

For Birth Control "This birth control did has done its purpose in preventing pregnancy, but my side effects are awful. In the year I have been on the pill, I have gained about 15 pounds and my diet is very healthy and I'm active. This made my acne worse, I have sleepless nights, and I constantly struggle with being down and not being happy. I have been waiting it out to see if this would shift back to normal, but it hasn't. This might work for someone else but it has not worked for me."

For Birth Control "I switched to TriNessa after being on a lower estrogen pill for three months. The previous pill caused some irregularity in my periods. TriNessa did regulate my period. But the improvements in my acne on the other pill unraveled a bit. I get acne just like I did before ever going on birth control. Sex drive has decreased slightly but nothing detrimental. No weight gain but I do have one terrible evening of nausea once a month during the week before the placebo pills."

For Birth Control "For anyone coming on here and reading all of the unfortunate side effects Trisnessa has cause - don’t worry yet! It might work great for you. When I was first prescribed it I read what the internet had to say about it and I was terrified! Been on it a little over a year now, it cleared my HORRIBLE PAINFUL acne! That was the original reason it was prescribed. On top of clearing my acne it also shortened my cycle from 7 days to 4, a much lighter period that isn’t getting in the way of my life, this pill also significantly reduced the amount of migraines that I get. Good luck to everyone hope you find what works for you! <3"

For Birth Control "I have been on trinessa for about 10 months and I have had a good experience! This is the first birth control ive ever taken. My whole life I have had very regular, easy periods. I used to have cramps the first day and would last about 6 days. now my period lasts about 4 days with and I don't have any cramps! My acne is loads better, my boobs got bigger. I gained about 5 pounds but have also slipped on my healthy eating/ working out so that could also be why. I take it at 7pm every night because I did feel slightly nauseous when I took it in the morning when I first started taking trinessa. I sleep great, my anxiety is actually better. Overall a good experience- my only complaint is that I seem to cry/ get more emotional over silly things!"
