"My periods are shorter, and I'm regular. My face is clear, and I haven't suffered from any weight gain, although I do have some PMS mood swings sometimes. But I've been on this pill for almost two years, and it's definitely helped this 22-year-old."

"Started the Tri-Sprintec pill about 3 months ago, and it’s one of my biggest regrets. I should’ve listened to the reviews. I experienced horrible anxiety, my depression has been at an extreme low, crazy nervous sweats, nausea, loss of appetite, and last but not least, the mood swings. I’m usually a pretty chill person, aka not usually moody. So this was different for me. These pills really messed me up. That’s my honest review."

"I have been taking this birth control, and I can tell you that it is working for me. I used to take another birth control that made me always moody and depressed. But with this birth control, I have been the same (actually even more relaxed). I was surprised when I saw so many people talking about the side effects because I've got almost none so far. Sometimes a little headache, but that is it. My skin has been getting better, and my boobs are also getting a little bigger, so that's a plus. My weight has not changed, but I am also very active. I hope this helps people to understand that any pill you take will have a different effect on each individual."

"I have been on Tri-Sprintec for four years now. It's the only pill I have ever been on. I truly love it, to say the least! No weight gains, just a few mood swings around my period, but that's about it. I would highly recommend it, I think its effects vary from person to person. My doctor told me before she put me on it that pills do not make you gain weight, however, the hormones in it may cause you to get hungry more often, and that's why people gain weight. Just watch what you eat and exercise regularly, you will be fine!"

"It has been a very good birth control, it just made me very sick at first. It made me so sick that I actually lost weight. I constantly felt nauseous and it even made me throw up sometimes. The first few months, I had normal to light periods and my skin was glowing! Aside from how sick it made me, I definitely recommend this birth control."

"I'm 18, and I've been on this pill for 1 year now, and at first, it was for my irregular periods. It was the first birth control my doctor put me on. In the first week, I noticed my breasts were sore, but it lasted 1 day, and I haven't had it since. My periods were 12 days long and heavy. Now my periods are 5 days, and I hardly notice my cramps. I'm not moody unless I'm PMSing. I've never had any negative side effects. I would recommend this pill to young people who don't have insurance or their first time on a birth control. AND! I have not gotten pregnant."

"I've been on Tri-Sprintec for about 3 or 4 years. It regulated my period and made my cramps disappear. I can pinpoint when I'm getting my period to the day since my second month on it. I had to skip a month one time, but the next month my period went back to the schedule it has been on for years. It cleared up my acne as well, but took a couple months."

"I started this pill when I was 16 for my acne. It was the first pill I ever took. It wasn’t until about a year or two later that I started to realize all the side effects I hadn’t noticed. I was tired ALL the time... like sleep 10 hours at night, wake up and take a five-hour nap after doing light activity kind of tired because I was drained. I lost all sex drive and arousal. This really took a toll on me emotionally because I was 18 years old and dry as a desert. I was a moody, miserable mess and couldn’t stop crying over literally anything. My acne slightly improved, but it’s hard to tell if it’s from the pill or my dermatologist visits. This pill did the bare minimum, it kept me from getting pregnant. Stay away from Tri-Sprintec, especially if you’re young."

"I have been on this pill for over a year now. I was first on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (Tri-Sprintec is the generic for this) and I absolutely loved it. I never felt moody, crampy, or had heavy periods. I switched to Tri-Sprintec due to insurance, not for any side effect reasons, I was disappointed to change, but I was happy it was basically the same. I feel slightly moody during the first week, just like you would during PMS (3-4 first pills in the pack), but no physical changes. My period usually arrives 2-3 days after my pack ends and lasts about 5-6 days and is pretty light, except for about a day or two of normal bleeding. I know medications affect everyone differently, so I suggest trying it before letting any negative review sway you."

"Tri-Sprintec was my first birth control. I'm 15, and I'd never had a regular period until this contraceptive. I haven't had any side effects except for breast sensitivity, but even that hasn't been severe. My periods are also shorter, they used to be 6-7 days, but now they are 4. I definitely love this birth control and will be sticking to it for a while."

"I've waited out the three-month wait time of absolute hell. Since starting Tri-Sprintec, my anxiety is through the roof, which exacerbates my depression to the point of me having suicidal thoughts on a daily basis. I can't wait to see my doctor and switch to a new pill. At 25 years old, my acne had subsided from the teenage years, but since I was started on Tri-Sprintec, it has come back. I thought maybe it would just come and go around the time of my period. Nope. Still here and even more coming in. I feel like I am back to being a teenager again with this acne and crazy mood swings. I am crying over anything and everything. Maybe these side effects will go away in more time, but I can't handle this any longer to find out."

"While Tri-Sprintec is effective at preventing an unwanted pregnancy, it has the worst side effects I have ever experienced on a birth control pill. I've only been on it for a little over a week and I have to stop using it. It has given me excruciating stomach aches, nausea, fatigue, migraines, and worst of all, it is aggravating my anxiety levels. I feel like I'm on the verge of having a major panic attack since I started taking this awful pill. Not only is my anxiety getting out of control, but I also feel depressed and uninterested in everything. All I want to do is sleep. I wish my stupid insurance covered Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, that has been the best pill so far. I don't recommend Tri-Sprintec to anyone."

"I've been taking this birth control for a little over two years now. It's been great overall, but lately, I've been extremely depressed for absolutely no reason, and my mood swings have been terrible (I go from contemplating killing someone to crying in a matter of seconds) and felt like I lost the need to live until I started thinking, maybe it's my birth control? It's like, I know that's the cause of all of this. I can't wait to get it out of my system for good."

"It took me a while before I was able to find a BC that really worked for me. I had taken one that was supposed to give me 4 periods a year, but instead I ended up spotting every day and having mood swings. Then I tried the Depo shot (which I loved), but my mom was extremely terrified of what it might do to me because of the bad experience she had with it. I got off because of her. So, I decided to get back on the very first one that I was on, which was Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, but my doctor told me about Tri-Sprintec and how relatively cheaper it was compared to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and how it does the same thing (it’s the generic brand of Ortho). Let me say, it has been the best birth control that I have ever taken! I don’t ever have side effects. It’s like everything is normal and it’s doing its job. It actually shocked me when I saw there were people who were having horrible experiences with this BC, but everyone’s body is different. It’s extremely cost effective and works like a charm on my end."

"My insurance had made me switch from Tri-Nessa to Tri-Sprintec. At first, I had the typical transitional side effects, such as nausea, cramping, and irritability/emotional for the first few days. I continued to take it, and I noticed the symptoms got worse, I expected the emotional part to go away. I started having headaches and nausea/stomach pain every time I took it. Had continuous spotting. The days that I wasn't bleeding, I felt super bloated. In my first month, I missed three pills and had unprotected sex. Had a weird feeling in my stomach like I was super bloated, like I was full. Took a pregnancy test, it came back negative. About three months later, I was trying to have sex with my boyfriend, and it was super swollen with vaginal dryness, which I had never experienced before. It stayed swollen for the next few days until I called my doctor. The doctor told me my body must be super sensitive and to stop taking it. The side effects were really horrible for me, and I will not take it."

"I was scared to try this after reading negative reviews, but honestly, just listen to your doctor. I've been on it for over two months. My acne has cleared up, and my periods have regulated already back to normal. The only complaint is that I get worse cramps than before, and it made me slightly moody at first, but no longer does."

"I've used a lot of birth controls, and they all made me gain a lot of weight, and I was always bloated. My friend said Tri-Sprintec was great if I wanted to stay in shape. My doctor said no matter what, any birth control pills would make me gain weight because they contain hormones, but it's been 3 months since I started them, and the only side effect is my boobs just started getting bigger, but I'm not complaining :). Effectiveness, I'm not sure because I haven't been with anyone since, but I'm sure it's effective. That's what my friend said, she's been using it for 2 years, and she never uses condoms."

"I have been on Tri-Sprintec for a little over a month for heavy periods/bad cramps. I've had the worst headaches (don't remember the last time I had a headache before being on this), upper back pain, stomach cramps (not on my period), and I've been exhausted. It does work well to help my periods, though."

"I was on Tri-Sprintec for a year and a half. I had absolutely no side effects like everyone is describing. They sound absolutely horrible...depression? Crazy emotional? I didn't even know that stuff was a possibility. But it did its job, never got pregnant, nor did I even have a scare. It made cramps better and periods lighter. No complaints."

"I have been on the birth control pill for the majority of the past 20 years and have never had any issues until now. I have been on Trinessa for the past 5 or so. My pharmacy switched from Trinessa to Tri-Sprintec, and I do not like it at all. I have been extremely nauseous, crying for no apparent reason, and bickering with my boyfriend. I was fortunate enough to talk to my pharmacy today, and they are bringing in a case of Trinessa for me, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I understand they say there are the same ingredients in both, but my body believes otherwise."

"Has anyone experienced horrible gas? I’ve never been this gassy. My farts are uncontrollable, and I fart all day, even in my sleep. I hate it, and I will stop taking it. I was on Trinessa, which was good, and now this is a mess."

"I am 18 and have been on this for nearly a year now, and originally started this due to severe period cramps that became unbearable. It makes them less severe, but I still have them, it's bearable now. The only side effect is the breast pain and swelling. I get sore before the placebo week, and my breasts have gone up literally 2 cup sizes. At first it was okay, but now it's annoying. I haven't gained weight, and I think I've lost weight instead, so that's a plus considering the breast increase. For birth control, it works well, just the breast soreness and delayed period on the placebos caused worry for a while, but now I know it's just the pill. Overall, it works good, and I'll continue to take it!"

"This is my second month on Tri-Sprintec, and so far, so good. I was on the Depo-Provera shot for more than a year, and as soon as I stopped, I lost 40 pounds, and it seemed as though both my body and emotions were settling to their normal state. I started taking Tri-Sprintec months after that ordeal, and PMS acne has not been an issue as it had been on the previous birth control. I do get bloated, but there's barely any PMS symptoms. I am a little more emotional than I was without any birth control at all, which is kind of expected, and my periods are light and not troublesome."

"I started using Tri-Sprintec about 5 months ago. Let me tell you that it does its job, I have had unprotected sex multiple times, and so far, so good. I have noticed a couple of side effects, which are weight gain, nausea, and mood swings. My weight gain doesn't really bother me. I'm already a tad chubby, but what I like is that it is going to my hips! The biggest downfall is the nausea. Gosh, it really gets to me. It is always in the first week of the pill, I don't know what it is, but out of the 5 months, I've thrown up at least twice that I remember. After the first week, the nausea goes away and is not as strong. Finally, the mood swings. I am already emotional as it is, so this pill gets to me! At first, I would find myself getting upset more than usual and getting overworked more than usual. But now, my body is getting used to it, and it is not as bad. Every girl is different, so the side effects are not all going to be the same, but I hope my review helps somebody!!!"

"Being a first-time user of birth control, I was hesitant. I'm very fearful of the side effects that come with all birth controls (like heart attack and stroke), but after a brief discussion with my doctor, I realized the pros outweighed the cons and was willing to give Tri-Sprintec a shot. I'm not sexually active, so my biggest concern isn't getting pregnant, however, I have moderate acne, which I've tried treating with prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines. I also suffer from PMDD, which has made my life miserable since I was 14. Since I've completed my second week of pills, I must say I am overjoyed. No PMDD complications, and my acne is getting better. As far as side effects, I did have headaches the first three days. Everything else has been smooth."
