"So I’ve been on Mili birth control pill for about four weeks now. I noticed nausea in the 3rd week the most. The rest of the time just some cramping and light spotting. I would spot on and off or every night so far for about a month. It’s not horrible though just somewhat annoying I’m going to continue with it and see if my body gets adjusted to it. Also noticed an increase in painful acne but not too much. The last week with the placebo pills have been painful cramps though."

"I had Mirena 3 times and decided to switch, one because I didn’t want to be on anything (hormones are horrible for your body period) & two cause I just wanted to see if anything was different without it. I’ve been using Mirena for almost 15 years & they say you notice changes when you stop something. Mirena was amazing. That’s what I’ve discovered. Should have never had it removed. Anyways- they prescribed me Tri Lo Mili (didn’t want my skin in shock seeing as I’m doing bodywork right now) I’m two weeks in to this pill & the side effects I am experiencing so far are- first week-insomnia/ high anxiety, night sweats (so gross) mainly in my legs, bleeding gums (never had in my life), absolutely zero appetite what so ever (and I’m a daily chocolate kind of gal)…"

"I have never been on birth control, I have always had fears of it and how it would effect my body. I recently just had a pregnancy scare and was not pregnant, just a week late. My OBGYN prescribed me Mili because I am with a partner and I have believed I have endometriosis for years hence my heavy heavy periods and awful cramps. I am a small person and struggle with severe acne but I have gotten it down to mild acne. I haven’t started the pill yet, I will on Sunday. I just want to hear back from other peoples experience who has a similar situation?.."

"Ok so the reason I was given this bc is bc for some reason my cycle decided to be weird (23days on) I'm already on nexplanon..I've literally been on this for 1 day I was told to take 3 a day for 3 days and so on so on. Well yesterday 12-28-20 I did just that and now here I am 12-29-20 @ 1:25 just finished throwing up like crazy. It's so bad my back of my head hurts and my ears and throat also. I already have digestive problems so this is a NO for me."

"I was on Sprintec for a year and never had any bad side effects. My doctor gave me Mili and said that they were the same medicine and that nothing should change. I've been taking it for less than a week and I have had headaches, horrible nausea, acne breakouts, and I'm always tired. DO NOT get fooled into thinking that Mili and Sprintec are the same thing.. they are not."

"I genuinely really like Mili. It’s prevented pregnancy, I’ve had clear skin, my period isn’t as bad, and my mood genuinely improved. Definitely recommend.Keep in mind switching form another birth control is always difficult."

"Took this birth control Mili pill for about 2 weeks & the 2nd week in my skin has gone nuts. I am getting huge painful bumps in the weirdest spots on my face. After working so long to get my skin clear, this is an absolute no for me. I will not be continuing this at all, it has also made my face extremely oily and extended the length of my acne. Most of my breakouts before were small and would clear up within 2 days. My skin is now burning from my favorite tea tree serum and my acne now appears as if I have been picking it which I have not. I am beyond upset and disappointed with this generic version, it genuinely sucks ."

"Well, I got pregnant on this pill... and it doesn't even make any sense because I didn't miss any pills or was I late. My boyfriend and I literally joke about how this is an immaculate conception. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Didn't know I was pregnant until I was 12 weeks. I am against abortion but was actually considering it because we did not want a second child. I've convinced myself this is fate and not just from a crappy form of birth control."

"I've been seeing mostly negative comments. I've been taking this BC since March for my irregular periods. It has helped tremendously. I haven't noticed any side effects. This is the most regular my period has been in awhile. I have missed taking it a couple days due to my insurance canceling my request fill and I have yet to get sick or have any other side effects that I've seen people list. I guess I got lucky."

"Well, I have been on Mili for more than a year, close to 2 years. I weighed 169 at one point and found out my ovaries were shutting down due to PCOS. So, I talked to my GYN and he first prescribed me Sprintec. After Sprintec was done, I got this prescription for Mili. It has helped me with losing weight. I'm down to 150 right now, but the side effects I would get is that I would start cramping and bleeding once I was finished with it, but as soon as I got back on, it would stop, which is good. But it helped my period come quickly and it would keep my weight at bay as long as I didn't overeat. But, when taking this birth control, it helped me out with my acne a lot and my face cleared up. But overall, I would give it a solid 9/10."

"I have been on this birth control Mili for less than 1 month. Week 1 was the hardest. I have been extremely depressed and depleted. I feel life is meaningless and am starting to question my beliefs and relationships. I have slept so much. I get home from work at 4pm and don’t get out of bed until the next day. I have gained about 6lbs. Not sure if it is from water weight or lack of energy to work out. Positives: not pregnant. my acne is starting to clear up. I feel the depression symptoms lightening so will give it another month to see how my body adjusts and review again."

"This was my first experience with birth control and it was so awful!! I took it for a month and a few days and there were two nights I woke up in the middle of the night throwing up because it made me so nauseous. I have healthy periods with barely any bad symptoms naturally, but with taking this pill my breasts had excruciating pain and I had strong cramps. The constant nausea was the absolute worst. Every woman’s body is different, but this did not work for me by any means!! I’m so happy my doctor told me to stop immediately!"

"Like many other recent reviewers, I was switched from Sprintec to Mili when my pharmacy ran out of Sprintec. I've never had any issues with Sprintec (I've taken it for four years). After I started taking Mili, I made it a total of 4 days before I called the pharmacy and begged them to switch me back. I started the first pack of Mili on Sunday night, and by the next morning I was experiencing severe waves of nausea and a headache. Every day until I switched back to Sprintec, I felt incredibly nauseous and would waver between extreme hunger and having no appetite due to the nausea. I definitely would not recommend this as an alternative to Sprintec--or at all."

"Absolutely terrible. I started taking Mili to try to manage pain from endometriosis. The first 4 days were just fine, but on day 5 I woke up with such extreme pelvic pain I thought I would need to go to the ER. I continued taking the Mili and woke up every day for another 4 days with pain so extreme I wasn’t even able to get out of bed for 2 of those days and was very, very restricted for the other two days. I stopped talking it and within a day or two, I started feeling better. It was truly heartbreaking as this was the first birth control I’ve tried and now I’m terrified to try anything else."

"I would not recommend this to anyone. This was prescribed as a substitute to Sprintec and has made me extremely nauseous during the 7 days I’ve been on it. So sick to the point I had to take time off work before finally stopping the dosage. My acne has also gotten worse and my stomach is bloated and painful. These are the most extreme side effects I’ve had from a birth control in over 12 years of taking various brands. Would give a negative score if possible."

"Oh my goodness I swear this birth control is terrible, terrible and I’m not exaggerating. Before I took Mili, I was originally taking Mononessa but then it got discontinued and I went on Estarylla (they are all suppose to be generics of each other - same hormones, same strengths). When I took Mili though my acne went crazy and went back to skin before I ever started birth control. The main reason why I take birth control is for my hormonal acne and oh boy I would never ever recommend Mili. The anxiety and bit of depression I got after having to suffer crazy breakouts again was disheartening to see. I literally had a new breakout everyday I was on Mili. But now after being 3 months it’s kind of improved but I’m still not happy at all with my skin. Mili ruined my skin once again"

"This birth control is horrible!!! I was on Sprintec for almost 9 years and then all the sudden my pharmacy started giving me Mili. The first month I took it, I missed one pill by 12 hours and bled for two weeks straight. Starting on the first day of the second month, I got extremely nauseous that I didn’t eat for eight whole days. My anxiety sky rocketed as well. I was crying all the time, weak, and exhausted. I missed a whole week of work because I couldn’t stand without getting lightheaded. My anxiety was so bad that I started seeing a counselor. Then, I got my period and everything went back to normal. Called my pharmacy right away and demanded to go back onto my old bc."

"My pharmacy switched me from Sprintec to Mili and I immediately had negative effects. I had every symptom of a period besides the period itself, extreme cramping, emotional bouts, food cravings, fatigue, all around not great. I never took Midol until I started on Mili, and that was the only thing that made my cramps go away even tho I wasn't on my period. I took Mili for two weeks before asking my pharmacy to override my prescription and get me back on Sprintec. Would not recommend , especially if you were on Sprintec prior to Mili. Now that I've taken three days of Sprintec, I started spotting here and there. I'm hoping my period is regular or becomes regular in the next month, because Mili made me and my cycle out of whack."

"SO BAD. I used to be on Estraylla or whatever, and was switched to Mili. I had very bad mood swings, cried excessively, was angry a lot, got acne, etc. I know my usual birth control would also make me a bit moody but this was over the top."

"I was put on Mili after Mononessa was discontinued as it is suppose to be the same hormones and same strength but I had the worst experience! My hair fell out, I had cystic acne the whole time I was on this medication and had really bad migraines. I was constantly bloated and depressed. This medication is AWFUL!"

"I personally love mili. It’s the first birth control pill I have ever been on. I felt nauseous the first day but that’s because I didn’t drink water so make sure you drink a lot of water when you start taking it so that doesn’t happen to you. I have had no other problems with it and no side effects! :)"

"I had hormonal acne for a few years on and off , & I finally worked on my skin and it cleared up. I recently started taking this birth control Mili because I have endometriosis, as soon as I started taking this , my face completely broke out like crazy and it’s done nothing but get worse. I don’t recommend this whatsoever considering it’s barely helped with cramps and just made me break out. I was put on an acne pill which isn’t helping so hopefully I can switch soon."

"I have been on this pill for almost 4 years but last year I got on depo shot and it was the worse thing ever for me. I have never experienced anything like it, my stomach would always hurt me so bad my headaches was through the roof and random periods and weight gain I was 148 when I started getting it and now 184. It also made me very very lazy and not want to get out the house! But I switched back to Mili birth control in January 2022, and it has been the be the best thing for me, no trouble no weight gain helped my acne want to go outside a lot more enjoy it I recommend Mili!"

"I switched to the Milli pill after weeks of bleeding on Tri Sprintec. The switch did help regulate my periods however the entirety of the 3 months I was on it were literal hell. My sex drive has been demolished and I am constantly on edge about everything. I became so overwhelmed and stressed out that it nearly ruined my relationship. Intense crying, screaming, and just general unhappiness. All of which would lessen on the off week during my period so it took me a cycle or two to realize the hormones were the cause. I had been on Tri Sprintec for a year and a half before Milli and have never experienced such awful mood swings. I also gained 10-15 pounds rapidly within a months time. That combined with the depressive episodes was bad for my self esteem. This pill has made me want to stop my birth control journey entirely."

"I’ve been on Mili for about 6 months now after switching from Junel and the Junel off brands. Junel made me incredibly angry, mood swings, depressed. I didn’t recognize myself. I decided to switch to help my acne but the change to Mili helped a lot of other things. Mili made my boobs fuller which is kinda cool, and my appetite decreased. This helped me lose weight and get fit because I could focus on cleaner eating when I wasn’t hungry all the time like on Junel. I fixed my eating disorder. Mili does give me a heavier flow on my placebo days, nausea if I take it on an empty stomach, and more cramps on placebo week than Junel. The first couple months were brutal because my body was getting used to the new hormones. I stuck it out and feel comfortable on it now. I have my placebo week every 2-3 months and don’t have many other issues with it. Now at the 6-month mark, I feel way less moody, less angry, and look more “feminine” because of the increased estrogen in this pill."
