Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Sprintec overall had a positive effect on my body, regular periods, bigger breasts, no weight gain, increase in sex drive, and helped quite a bit with acne. Four months into it I caught a yeast infection which is the only downfall I've noticed."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I initially had Mononessa prescribed for PCOS but switched after 3 months to Sprintec. Of course I experienced the usual side effects with both i.e. nausea, mood swings, hot flashes, breast tenderness and headaches but only for the first week or two. However with Sprintec I am now experiencing depression, my skin on face and chest area above breast is not as smooth as it used to be and worst of all a yeast infection, which I have never suffered from before (awful itching but Monistat 7 is helping a lot). I'm still quite new to Sprintec and hope all this goes away."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Been taking Tri-Sprintec for 3 weeks now. Week one was a breeze. For the other 2 weeks, here’s what I’ve experienced thus far: headaches, a little bit of nausea, sore boobs and a bigger appetite & I gained 5 pounds (I’m skinny, so I don’t mind it) I haven’t had any bad break outs, no mood swings, nothing crazy. I don’t really enjoy the headaches and nausea but I haven’t experienced anything CRAZY."

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I started Mononessa after having been on at least 5 other birth control pills. I've now been using Mononessa for almost 5 years. Having been diagnosed with Poly cystic ovarian syndrome, my Obgyn put me on birth control to help the symptoms. Mononessa has eliminated most of my symptoms. While I still struggle with weight gain, this pill hasn't made me gain weight or make it harder to lose weight. (anyone with PCOS knows that losing weight is the actual struggle). Overall I really like this pill and it has been a life saver!"

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been on Sprintec a year and randomly it causes me to bleed for over a month straight. Which is expensive when it come to liners or ruining my panties. Since being on it I have gained weight while I watch my calories and work out a lot. As well, it causes breast pain. It made them bigger to the point I may need a reduction. Don’t forget to mention the emotions. I work hard to control it but I just want to cry all the time."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "My experience with Sprintec was a nightmare. I’ve take. Orthocycle For over 10 years with no issues, when my pharmacy discontinued it they offered Sprintec, and in about a months time I experienced the following symptoms: Depression/Anxiety Dizziness/ Nausea Exhaustion / Fatigue Chronic Headaches Thinning Hair at top of scalp Mood Swings Weight Gain (about 5-7 pounds) It did keep my skin clear... if you notice any side effects, please discontinue, I thought I was going crazy... I spent several hundred dollars on doctors visits, hair appointments and the sadness was unprecedented. Please do not take."

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "The first week I was on the Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo pill I dropped ten lbs. I was eating better, but still! I didn't expect to lose that much. I rated it an 8 because I'm crying more and notice myself to be more irritable. I'm going to give it a few months before I decide to stop or not because I'm hoping to lose more weight!"

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been taking birth control for about 5 years now, I used to get the shot every month but I start gaining a lot of weight after about 1 1/2 years of the shot I stopped. An then about year later got put on the pill, but to being very sick on period and vomiting and not being able to get out bed due to a cyst that has been on my right ovaries since I was 14 years old and I am 21 now. Now take sprintec and I am so very pleased with this medication. It has helped my period from being to where I wouldn't be able do anything on it to now it is bearable. I do have mood swings on this like when it close to my period and I am not taking the hormone pills I cry and feel sad and alone, but this is good for cysts and period and pregnancy. I would recommend this!"

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "In early November of 2016, I was Diagnosed with PCOS. I was prescribed birth control named " Tri-Sprintec",and a 100 mg per pill diuretic named, "spiralactone." The reason I was easily diagnosed with PCOS is due to the unbelievable painful menstrual periods I would experience time after time. Not only that, random black hairs would pop up around my face and I'd have to constantly, routinely, pluck my chin for to get rid of the single course black stubborn hairs. Before I had my medication my acne and facial hair was terrible my depression and anxiety made me want to hide. After 3 months of the combinations it meds I have notice an instant improvement to my skin. I can't wait for the day where I'm completely acne free"

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been on Sprintec for 6 months now. I also have PCOS. And let me tell you, I would usually get these painful periods and would bleed extremely heavy. But Sprintec has helped out a lot. The only thing that's affecting me now is the yeast infections. Hopefully this symptom doesn't last long."

TriNessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "This is my first time ever in my life being on birth control pills. My 1st week on these things my flow was heavier than I have ever seen it in years. I have always had my period regularly, but it would switch up once in a blue. My Gyno insisted that I get on them due to my PCOS. I am also unable to get pregnant and was also told it might help. So whenever I am ready to have children to get off the BC. I'm still not sure of how this works to get pregnant. I've just always been afraid to take BCPs only because I've seen and heard of the damages that have done to some women. Well I hope this plays out well. Will keep you all posted"

Tri-Lo-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I do not recommend! I have been dealing with PCOS for about ten years now. I have been on and off of birth control pills ever since. And this has been far most the worst experience I have ever been in. I have never experienced depression like this in my life. It was to the point where I was feeling suicidal and I was always crying for no reason at all or I was looking for a reason all the time. It did solve my hormonal problem but when I got off of it, my hormones went all over the place within 6 months. I’d give a 0 if I could."

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "This medicine has made my periods a lot better. They are no longer irregular so I can definitely time them accurately and I am never surprised. However, I do get really bad mood swings, I am very irritable at times. I have definitely gained a lot of weight since I started. My breasts size fluctuate and my nipples are tender majority of the time. Besides those things, I am very satisfied with this medication."

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "So, I thought the light periods were a problem but since I see people with the same issue that makes me feel a little better. Although, I don't like that I come on at the end of the pack I usually would come on the Wednesday during the non- active pills but now its like Saturday or Sunday, then extremely light for maybe 2 to 3 days. Good thing is I do not have problems with the Cysts or Fibroids now, no pain, periods are once a month although light, No acne, mood swings are normal, I think :-) overall good pill."

No mood changes, no excessive weight gain/appetite changes, etc. In fact, my weight has stayed very steady over these years. I weight about 130lb when I started and I range between 130-135 now."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I was put on this drug after being diagnosed with PCOS. It did give me stomach upset for the first month, and my periods seem longer (a whole 7 days versus 3-5 without it), but the bleeding is less intense. It does seem to make period cramps worse for me, versus cramps while not on birth control. I feel like it has helped with the crazy hormonal mental/mood aspect, and it's helped a lot with hot flashes and sweating. I'm trying to give it 3 months (It has been about 2 months) before I give up on it, because the cramps are pretty severe to the point I get nauseous, so I'm wondering if it's the right one for me."

Ortho Tri-Cyclen (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I had incredibly painful cramps and was told by both my ob/gyn and general doctor birth control could really help me, so I tried Ortho. My skin stayed just about the same (got some tiny under the skin bumps that didn't bother me) and I was a little tired. My first period on it was extremely heavy and painful, but the next one was lighter and easier to deal with. But I noticed about a month in, I sprouted hair all over my cheeks (which I've NEVER had before). My hormones were basically normal before, but this pill made them go completely haywire (hence the hair growth). But apparently this is a rare side effect. This pill seems to be one of the better ones for other people, but was not right for me. I will keep looking for my perfect birth control."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Update: Going into my fifth month on Sprintec. It works fine - my period is right on schedule and very light; no serious side effects. My mood dips around my period, but that's not new for me (happened prior to taking BCP too). Nonetheless I hate this medication. I hate how it makes me retain water constantly, to the point of physical discomfort around the last two weeks of active pills. I hate how sluggish it makes my body feel. I hate how it screws around with my GI tract. It could just be weather changes, but now I'm getting a lot of headaches (which hasn't happened before this month). Don't let this scare you; If you have to be on BCP, Sprintec gets the job done. Personally though, I'm getting off this pill as soon as humanly possible."

Tri-Lo-Marzia (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "This is my first time on birth control and I started this pill around the beginning of my first semester. I took it to control my cramping and regulate my period which it has done well for. I have been on this pill for 7 months now. But since starting this pill, I have developed severe digestive problems. I am gluten-free, dairy-free, strictly drink water and hardly eat meat. I couldn’t figure out why my stomach pains are the way they are since I am eating the healthiest I have ever been. My gastroenterologist recommended the low FODMAP diet to reduce the bloating and gas I am having nearly 24/7. The longer I have been on the pill, the worse my digestion system is irritated. I have also gained 30 pounds. I would say this is the typical freshman-15 but according to my daily diet and exercise routine, I don’t think it’s possible. I plan to come off of Tri-Lo-Marzia this week. It is definitely not worth the digestive troubles."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for 8 years now (I'm 24 years old) to help regulate my irregular hormone levels due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I have not had any side effects of the pill...well, maybe some mood swings, but nothing that wouldn't be caused by that time of the month already! I have gained a considerable amount of weight since I have been on this particular birth control (approximately 50 pounds), but that is the only real issue. I have been regular for the past 8 years, down to the exact day and almost time of the day so there are no surprises. Everyone's body reacts differently to medications, I'm pleased that this birth control did the job for me!"

Tri-Lo-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I was prescribed this birth control in February because I was diagnosed with PCOS. My periods were very irregular and I could skip anywhere from 2 to 9 months without a period. I’m on my fourth month of this and it has been great. My period consistently comes on the 3rd day of the placebo pills. My periods also used to be extremely heavy, painful, and long. My periods are now light, around 5 days, and I haven’t had a single cramp! I haven’t had any side effects, I have found that this has extremely elevated my mood. The PCOS caused a significant low in hormones so I often fell into depressive lows and other symptoms. This has helped me tremendously. Every medication works differently for everyone so I would not let the negative reviews stop you from possibly finding the best for you."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Second month on Sprintec; went on birth control pill because I hadn't had my period for almost a year (extreme stress, low BMI/hormone levels). Overall it's been better than expected. I was a bit nauseous the first few days after taking the pill, and initially it killed my appetite. Weeks two and three, I retained water; breasts felt pillowy; appetite went up; felt really tight and uncomfortable. But my period came right on schedule, without any cramps or heavy bleeding. Score! I've gained a few lbs, but it feels/looks like water weight only. I know this will improve as my body adjusts to the hormones, but right now it's pretty annoying. Otherwise I feel so much more like "myself" than I have in awhile, so I'll take it."

I started taking this because I was developing ovarian cysts ALOT. Having said that, I still developed a DVT in my arm, and now I have to be on Coumadin for the rest of my life and administer Lovanox Shots in my belly twice a day."
