"This is the worst birth control I have ever used. I used Taytulla for 5 months. At first, my skin cleared up, my periods were light, and my hormones were under control. Then I had migraines, constant headaches, nausea, and my hormones changed. I had really dark thoughts, depression, anxiety, and severe mood swings. Sex drive went way down. Then really painful sex. I did research on Taytulla and saw similar experiences. After 5 months of taking it, I stopped, and my symptoms improved days after stopping. Except painful sex. I went to my OB/GYN and was diagnosed with lichen sclerosus. This is an autoimmune disease that can be triggered later in life and can be triggered by high levels of hormones. There is no cure and only treatments that can be used to help reduce the pain while having sex. DO NOT USE Taytulla. Get your partner to use condoms. Women shouldn’t deal with this. My husband now wears condoms, and I will never use birth control ever again in my life."

"I was almost too scared to try Taytulla after reading the horrific reviews, but I’m on month three and Taytulla has been working WONDERS!! I switched from a very high dosage birth control, and I was really scared my body would go whacky on this. My only side effects have been acne and more frequent headaches around the time of my bleed within the first two months, but it’s gotten so much better. My periods are really light and painless. My mood is so much more stable, my anxiety has decreased, I feel a lot more full of life and energy! This pill is the one for me. Everyone’s body responds to these medications differently, so don’t let bad reviews scare you away from giving this pill a try. So far, it has worked wonderfully for me!"

"I started taking this birth control around a month and a half ago. I'm also in a relationship, and ever since I've started taking it, I have been almost constantly overthinking everything, having anxiety, being extremely sad and upset, and crying for no reason. This pill has also started to give me acne again. With all of these side effects (the mood swings being the WORST and most prevalent), I need to stop taking it. I am typically a very, very happy and outgoing girl, but ever since taking this, I have been a hormonal mess. I don't want this birth control to be the reason I am overly emotional with my boyfriend and constantly creating problems that aren't there. Would not recommend."

"I've just started my third month of this pill, and it has been a complete disaster. This is also my first time taking birth control. A couple of weeks ago, I thought about trying something different since it has been making me cry about every little stress in life and has also made me anxious about everything. I'm in my first semester of college, and this pill has not made it easier. I am currently dealing with some relationship problems, but I would never typically feel this depressed about anything. I'm so much happier than this. The only good thing I've experienced with this pill is the barely there period. This pill is destroying my happiness and ruining me as a person. Due to all of the anxiety and depression, I haven't been eating as much as I should, so I've lost weight. I would not recommend this pill to anyone."

"I was put on this pill by my OB-GYN for my extremely painful and irregular periods and because I’m going off to college soon. This is the first time I’ve ever taken any form of birth control, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I took the pill for a little over a week and a half before stopping because I started feeling some extreme side effects. I was having severe anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts to the point where I had to be prescribed anti-anxiety meds to get me through the day. I couldn’t eat or sleep, and some days I couldn’t even pull myself out of bed. I ended up losing about 10-15 pounds. This was the scariest and darkest moment of my life, it felt like I would never get better. It took me months to actually feel like myself again. I definitely do not recommend this pill to anyone, there are better options out there for you."

"Love this pill. Boosted my sex drive, lightened periods, no breakthrough bleeding, no weight gain (I’ve actually lost weight), no anxiety/depression. It’s awesome. Slight side effect of breast tenderness - but this pill is the ONE for me."

"I am 39 years old and was put on Taytulla by my OB/GYN to regulate my cycle and stop breakthrough bleeding. I have had breakthrough bleeding for years with no answers. I've been taking Taytulla for 2 weeks now and stopped just two days ago because of unbearable lower abdomen cramping. The cramping and bleeding have been so severe that I can't even function with my regular day activities. I'm bleeding so severely with lots and lots of clots. I've never bled this much in my entire life where I'm having to change a pad every hour on the hour. Tampons can't even be used, I'm having to wear super huge pads for the heavy flow that feel like a diaper. I've developed acne in the past few days on my face. My mood has me down and depressed, and I just can't shake out of it. It's only been two days since I stopped Taytulla, and I have not noticed any change yet. I hope I start to feel better soon as this can't be life!"

"The most debilitating week of my life! Extreme fatigue, extreme nausea, leg cramps, breast tenderness, acne, mood swings, heart palpitations. I threw it out after 7 days. Please take caution when using this."

"I absolutely love this birth control! I haven’t had any problem with acne (but I never did before I was put on the pill), and no pregnancy scares at all! I’ve been taking this pill for about 2 years, so my body is definitely adjusted, but it took about 3-4 months before my body was fully adjusted!"

"For the girls thinking about starting Taytulla and reading the reviews from people who stopped it too soon. (with reason, of course - health first) I stayed on it for my body to adjust and didn't stop a few weeks or months in because of side effects. Yes, you're going to get side effects, you're messing with your body's hormones, expect them. For the first few 2-3 months, I got headaches constantly, almost zero appetite, and my anxiety had hit panic levels, paranoia, and light mood swings, on the side of crying more. But after the side effects wore off, it's perfect. I never gained weight, (had acne as I did before) no cramping, light periods, I went up a cup size, and not pregnant. Personal warnings: I will warn about coffee and caffeine, one of the side effects is a type of sensory overload when mixed with caffeine. I switched to decaf as I drink coffee for taste. Read what interacts with Taytulla, types of teas, and detox. Side effects with medicine, vitamins, and herbal supplements."

"I took this medicine a month ago because my doctor claimed it would help stop my bleeding because I have 9 fibroids. I was taking the Taytulla on top of getting the shot, and neither has worked. It has caused my body more harm. For the last few weeks, I have had the worst bloating, which has caused bad gas in my body, and my body has never been in this much pain. The hospitals aren't doing anything about it. I wouldn't recommend anyone take this due to all this gas buildup and bloating. I'm also experiencing unbearable pain, I can barely walk, eat, sleep-like, this is horrible!!"

"I usually don't write reviews for things, I just read them most of the time. But I felt that I should leave a comment after seeing how most of the other reviews were negative. I've been taking Taytulla for 4 going on 5 years now! I've never had issues, really, other than usually around the middle of my cycle I will bleed a little bit for a day. Other than that, this birth control has been great! I never experienced sickness, and I never lost/gained a ton of weight. I overall think this birth control is great, especially for women who have low hormone levels and need a boost to get them back where they need to be."

"Everything started off great, and now it’s like boom, depression. Bloating. No period, which is causing my body to react in all these crazy ways. Crying, can’t sleep because my anxiety is so high because of it. Not working for me."

"This is the 4th birth control I've tried. I get terrible cramps, vomit, headaches, etc. while on my period, and while other pills have alleviated those issues, they had their own side effects (moodiness, anxiety, weight gain, etc.). I got an IUD 8 months ago and cramped every day, PLUS I got terrible cystic acne, so I got that out. I got put on Taytulla immediately after getting my IUD removed. I was super skeptical from all of the bad reviews, but this pill is AWESOME. No change in mood, I've definitely had an increased appetite, but no weight gain, no change in drive, no headaches, no cramps, it cleared my acne, and my breasts went up 1/2 a cup size. Only cons: noticeable breast tenderness, and I have not had a period since taking it. (My gyno said this was normal, and I am not pregnant.) All in all, super happy."

"My side effects on Taytulla are depression, uncontrollable emotional swings, irritable, weight gain, random periods, headaches, appetite change, cramps, weird discharge, and fatigue. My insurance covered most of the prescription. It still came out to $60 a month. This drug is not worth the money or your time."

"I know this birth control has had some rocky reviews, but I swear when I say it changed my life. After being on birth control for four years, I started having a period that wouldn't stop. I underwent exploratory surgery, tried many different birth controls, and nothing was helping or giving us answers as to why. I have severe ovarian cysts that start forming immediately if I am not on birth control, so I have a choice of finding a birth control that works or being in and out of the hospital in severe pain and rupturing cysts. Finally, my gynecologist suggested Taytulla. I was skeptical because after trying five different birth controls, I was losing hope. Two days after starting Taytulla, my constant bleeding stopped."

"Taytulla is the first BC pill I’ve been on, and I’ve had a generally positive experience (currently 6 months). Lost weight after starting it. Light or no periods. Be aware: 1st month, bled for about 10 days, but that is normal for starting BC. Didn’t happen again. Experienced heightened anxiety during months 2-4, but situations in my life were actually stressful, so though I think Taytulla increased the anxiety I would’ve normally felt in that situation, I don’t think it caused it, and it went away when my problems did."

"After being on Loestrin for 10 years, my OB switched me to Taytulla in July, and it’s now mid-October, and I have gained 20 pounds on a near-perfect diet, with weight lifting and cardio 5-6 days a week, with no changes to lifestyle except this awful pill. I’d rather have a period every 2 weeks than feel like this. Also, I have seen changes in my mood and acne, which I haven’t had since I took Accutane 6 years ago. 10 packs of Taytulla are now in the garbage where it belongs."

"I started taking Taytulla 2 weeks ago to help prevent more ovarian cysts from popping up. There is not one thing I've liked about this pill. I get terrible headaches and nausea almost constantly, I've broken out in acne all over my face. I have been suffering with terrible depression, anxiety, lack of interest in anything, and fatigue. I forgot to take it one night, and the next morning I woke up with super heavy bleeding. I know the body will react when starting any new medicine, but this is miserable. Would not recommend, ladies!"

"I took Taytulla for two months and had to stop due to side effects. My blood pressure was high, about 178/114, and my pulse was about 120 to 130. I started developing chest pains and shortness of breath and had to go to the emergency room. I had to wear a holter monitor for three days to record my heart activity. I also developed insomnia and anxiety and had to take anti-anxiety medication."

"So I've been on Taytulla for over a month now. I love this birth control! But I must say that when I started out, I had extreme fatigue and weakness, my body felt so little. But after that, I was back to my normal self, unlike some other forms such as Nexplanon where you bleed for a long time. I was going to go on Nexplanon, but I just couldn't do it, worrying about all the really bad reviews, so I stuck with Taytulla, and it is amazing! I just gotta keep reminding myself to take it every day and not forget. Overall, I would recommend this!"

"This birth control worked well for controlling my period, but my emotional state was in absolute shambles. For 8+ months, I had horrible anxiety and would cry about almost everything, which I blamed on myself just being an emotional person. After not taking the pills for a few weeks, I feel like a whole new person, and I am not nearly as emotional or sad all the time. Would not recommend."

"I’ve had my fair share of experiences with birth control, from the migraines every day to bleeding for weeks at a time to anxiety to depression. Taytulla was my last try at it, and I must say I’m pleasantly surprised. I was on a generic of the same dosage and had a list of issues, none of which I have now with this birth control! On Taytulla, I have no anxiety, no migraines, no depression. I had mild spotting getting used to it, but now everything is fine, my horrible periods are now only about 4 days. I will say that cramping is still really bad, but way lighter! I love this birth control-life saver!"

"I’ve been on Taytulla for about 8 months now, and let me tell you, it’s been a roller coaster ride. My original birth control I was on, I never had any side effects or anything wrong except for gaining a little bit of weight. The doctor switched my birth control to Taytulla, and it’s literally been the worst thing ever! I am a very happy person, and this pill made me extremely depressed, and also my anxiety went skyrocket and through the roof! I thought I was like this because I went through a breakup after 4 years, but no! After reading the reviews, it all makes sense. I am definitely stopping the pill and do NOT recommend Taytulla to anyone!"
