For Acne "I used this product for bad periods, but it ended up helping my acne a lot. I have had bad acne since middle school, and no topical treatments seemed to work. It was pure luck that I found a solution that helped two problems. The only issue I have is the price. I had to stop taking it because even with my insurance I could not afford it. I now take a generic form, Microgestin, and my acne has worsened again. It just depends on the person whether or not this product will work."

For Endometriosis "My doctor initially had me taking Loestrin just like a regular pill, to help keep my horrendously painful periods a little shorter and more predictable. However, with endometriosis, even a 4-day period was too much for me. I would be doubled over in pain. It hurt to walk around, sit, and forget about even doing anything else. It got to the point I was so terrified of getting my period that I had to do something. So my doctor decided to keep me on Loestrin, but told me to skip the placebo pills and just keep taking the pills continuously. Pro: I have not had a period in months, and I am so thankful. Cons: my breasts are constantly heavy and sore, and my nipples sometimes hurt to touch. Small price to pay for endometriosis relief, though."

For Birth Control "From the reviews I've read, it sounds like if you were on Yaz, Yasmin, or Ocella as I was, this is a great pill to switch to. I am on my second week of my second pack, and my first period was almost nonexistent! Watch out for pregnancy panics because of little to no periods. Haven't experienced any negative side effects. I have noticed clearer skin, increased sex drive, and the start of increased cup size, my boobs feel heavier and fuller!"

For Birth Control "Only thing I can say about the Loestrin 24 Fe is AWESOME. I have been on these pills for 6 years now, and in the beginning, my period lasted 2 to 3 days, and as time went on, it decreased even more and went to 24 hours, and my period was over. Later on, it changed again, and I came on and was off in 12 hours. Today, I haven't had a period at all I know in years. I love these pills, but the only downfall is even though I don't come on, I still have the mood swings, irritating moments, feeling strange, headaches, etc., but at the time when my period would have been ending, that's when everything goes away. I did used to worry in the beginning when I completely stopped having a period, but now I know it’s just the way these pills are with my body."

For Acne "I've also never left a review for anything in my life, but reading these responses was a lifesaver for me, so I need to pay it forward. I have been on NuvaRing, Yaz, and Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo over the past 15 years, and my skin has been pretty much flawless my whole life (I'm 29). In April 2016, I told my doctor I wanted to switch to whichever birth control had the lowest dose of hormones, as I figured that was just the healthiest thing to do. After a week on this garbage, I started having horrible cystic acne with whiteheads on my chin and some on my jawline. My diet and exercise routine are super solid. I don't eat dairy or gluten. I'm not on any other medications. So it's pretty obvious the Loestrin FE is the culprit here."

For Acne "I just started Loestrin about one month ago. Before I started taking it, I had no problems with acne. Most recently, about two weeks ago, I began having the worst breakout of my life-cheeks, chin, forehead! I thought it was from my use of makeup, but now that I have read these posts, I definitely see it is from the pill."

For Birth Control "So this is my second time on this birth control. When I took it correctly, I wouldn't have many periods and never super painful. I'm terribly sensitive to most birth controls. My migraines were so bad they thought I had a tumor. But it was too much estrogen in the birth control. The first time went well, but I was taken off of it due to migraines again with auras. But later, I figured out it was biotin instead. So far, I'm 4 months on this, and my skin hasn't looked healthier in the past 6 months. My periods are more like two days of light cramping and then brown sludge for 3 to 4 days. I'll gladly take that over other periods for sure. For me, this works because it's such a low dose."

For Birth Control "It has been about a month since I've begun taking this medication. I knew from the start my body would begin to feel different, but I did not know the actual severity until now. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and possibly PCOS, so my doctor put me on birth control as the first step. However, I have gotten a horrible acne spill all over my forehead (I rarely got acne prior to this medication). On top of the acne, I have the weirdest mood swings. Some days, I will be super happy, while other days I just want to bury myself in my blanket and cry all day. I am hoping my doctor prescribes another type of BC that could help in all!"

For Acne "Lo Loestrin was a miracle for my face. I struggled with acne as a young teenager, and it eventually cleared in time, but when I went off to college, my stress level skyrocketed. I got switched to Lo Loestrin and haven't had a zit since then. I have combination to oily skin type, and I have noticed a big difference in the amount of oil on my skin! It's even helped even my skin tone out! Love, love, love this brand!"

For Endometriosis "I have horrible pain during my periods due to endometriosis, and I've tried many other drugs to help control it. In August of 2011, I had the laparoscopic surgery to remove some of the endometriosis, this surgery did not help me one bit. So my doctor put me on Loestrin just recently (Feb. 2012), and the first few days the only side effect I had was nausea and some slight stomach cramping. About 2 weeks into it, I started bleeding - not spotting - not as heavy as a period, I'd say it was a good mix. Now I'm having constant cramps, they're pretty intense. They feel somewhat like my pre-period cramps, which are terrible due to the endo. I'm just waiting for my period to come and hoping it will be better. But so far, the side effects have not been worth it."

For Birth Control "I am so glad I found this website. I have been having horrible breast pain and was actually pretty scared until I saw the side effects some women have had taking this pill. I personally was going to have my doctor change this medication due to my having no sex drive at all. I have always had a super high sex drive, and I went to not wanting to have sex at all. I have been on Loestrin for a little over six months. The symptoms are not getting better for me, just worse. I have gained about 8 lbs, and I do have some up-and-down mood swings. I never thought about the little things this pill could be responsible for. Thank you to everyone that posted."

For Acne "I've taken Lo Loestrin Fe for about 2 and a half years now. I am very prompt about taking it every day at the same time. I never forget to take it. I rarely had acne before I went on, but I do still normally, as before the pill, get an occasional zit, nothing too bad. My period is off every other month, though. Sometimes it's 3-4 days, and other times just 2 days. My period prior to the pill was heavy and a full 7 days, so that's why I first got put on the pill."

For Acne "I started Loestrin 24 a few months ago and was nervous about some side effects I've always heard of from the pill. I was nauseous for only the 1st week, and only got my period for 2 days and had zero cramps even though I used to have to take 3 Advil for the 1st 3 days of my period. No weight gain, only in my breasts (grew a cup size). However, this pill made me break out horribly. I've always broken out a little before my period, but while on this I got multiple huge cysts on my chin and under my nose before my period and my cheeks, which have never broken out before, were breaking out as well. Really no side effects, but the acne was enough to make me go off of it."

For Birth Control "I am 18 years old and have been using Loestrin 24 Fe for 9 and a half months now. I haven't gotten pregnant, but the side effects I experience always make me think that I am pregnant. It's been this long, so I guess it's working."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I started taking this medication 25 days ago. On the 17th day, I already had a period, which I hadn't had in 4 months. I noticed I've lost a few pounds, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the pill or not. I feel better, and my acne is not so bad now. The only problem is that it says you will have shorter, lighter periods. Well, I am on the 8th day of my period, and it hasn't been so light. Hopefully, this is only my body's response to not having a period for so long, and it won't always be this long."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was on Loestrin for a year. At first, it was great. Then my period stopped completely, except for spotting all month long. It constantly made me feel pregnant. My breasts would hurt, I'd feel nauseous often, and the fact that I wasn't getting a period gave me great anxiety. Furthermore, I was experiencing anxiety regularly and developed a sort of hypochondria-where I thought I was sick constantly. I think it was because my hormones were so out of whack. I am now on a higher hormone pill and don't have anxiety issues anymore. I really think this pill was my issue."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was 46 when I first started taking Loestrin 24, primarily because my periods were becoming heavier, more erratic, and with more cramping, basically premenopausal symptoms. I've been taking it for about 4 years now, and I have to say this really took care of all of those issues, and as long as I take it every day at about the same time, I have no troubles. If I do get off track, worst case is a minor yeast infection for a week or so. I totally appreciate the fact that I now have almost no period - just spotting for about 3 days. It also mellowed out my PMS mood swings. My only gripe is cost, as my insurance isn't covering it. I totally recommend Loestrin 24 FE."

For Menstrual Disorders "This pill has been giving me the blues. Since starting, I've had constant yeast infections and BV. Increased hunger, nausea, and severe bloating. The only thing it does efficiently is prevent pregnancy, and by the way, I haven't seen my period in 3 months. Feeling terrible."

For Acne "This birth control was great for the first year. After about 14 months of being on this, I started to get horrible cystic acne. I have tried every face wash, herbal remedies, acne pills... EVERYTHING, and it has not cleared up. My face is always red and inflamed when I get a breakout, and it is all around my chin (hormonal acne). I am asking to switch at my appointment this week."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for a year, and I loved how light my periods were and how much less my cramps were. Within a month of not taking it, I could tell what a difference it made. My acne didn't really change much. I will say though that it did mess with my mental status. At random, I would get depressed for little to no reason. Then at my most recent doctor appointment, I was shocked to realize I had gained around 20 lbs. I had become well aware of my constant bloated stomach, but I had no idea I had gained so much. I loved how light Loestrin made my cycles, but I won't take it due to all this weight retention. I've even been working out more than before I started the pill!"

For Birth Control "I am almost done with my first pack of this birth control to help with my irregular and painful periods. It has helped with pain and not caused me any pain, but I have gotten horrible acne on my chest and chin, and my face skin has been super red and itchy. I am so glad to see other people are experiencing this. I will no longer be taking this medicine."

For Birth Control "I started taking Loestrin 24 Fe when I was 19 years old for 4 years. I have a slim body, and I'm active. My periods are light, and I don't get cramps or back aches while on my period, and I don't have problems with acne. My periods were just very irregular. I would sometimes get my period the next month, the next week, and even the next three months! And they would last like 1 week, 2 weeks, and even 4 weeks one time! I was on Loestrin for 4 years because it didn't give me any negative side effects. It gave me regular periods, and I never got pregnant. I stopped taking it because my doc told me they discontinued it! So she prescribed me Minastrin 24 Fe. I looked up the reviews for it and didn't like what I saw. So I've been off bc for 2 years."

For Birth Control "I’m on the generic version of this pill, and it’s the worst thing ever and have been for four months now. I am constantly anxious, depressed, nauseous, and moody. Not to mention, I had two yeast infections in this time period from the pill. I’ve never had a yeast infection before. I am constantly dry down there, and my boobs are always sore. I didn’t gain weight, but I did lose a lot of hair. This pill is supposed to let me have sex and prevent pregnancy, when since being on this pill it’s made sex miserable and painful to where I don’t even have sex anymore. Lube doesn’t even make it better."

For Birth Control "I switched from Kariva because I was having pretty bad cramping during my period. I have been on Loestrin for a week. The first 3-4 days, I had severe migraines constantly. I was relieved when that passed, but a few days later, the insomnia began. I have a horrible time falling asleep, and when I can fall asleep, it's a very light sleep, and I feel exhausted all day, which is terrible since I have a 14-month-old to care for. I'm talking to my doctor and either switching back to Kariva (I'd rather have cramps than this) or using another method. I'm over pills. Can someone please make a pill for men? It's so unfair that we have to put our bodies through this to prevent pregnancy."

For Birth Control "I just started taking the pill almost two months now, and aside from certain downsides, I like it. My periods are so little it's basically only spotting, and I no longer have any cramps, which I am thankful for because prior I could barely move in peace with them. Only things that are deeply disturbing are the weight gain that I gained in such a small period of time, also, my breasts have become increasingly sore at all times of the day. I have mood swings every now and again, and in the beginning, I would get depressed very quickly, but that didn't last long. Hope it works for you."
