For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "For the past 5 months, I have been having severe periods with extremely heavy bleeding to the point where I had to wear a pad and a tampon, and I would bleed through both in a matter of hours (overnight pad and regular strength tampon). So I went to my OB/GYN. Turns out I have a big fibroid tumor, ovarian cyst, and most likely endometriosis, which would explain why I had really bad cramps for a long time. She put me on Loestrin, and I'm literally on the fourth pill, and it has slowed down my bleeding so much. I did bleed through a little, but I was only wearing a pad because I have surgery next week, and I'm not allowed to use tampons before it. So I know this is a pretty early review, but I'm really happy so far. No cramps at all."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is my 4th month on Loestrin 24 to control 'flooding' and premenopause symptoms. I feel like I have my life back! The first month I had a fairly heavy period, but not flooding. The second month was very light, the 3rd was just a little spotting. This month is fairly light. I can't believe I put up with the flooding for years! I was getting hormonal migraines several times a month, and since I've been on the pill, I've gotten them only under heavy stress or during the non-estrogen pill days. I also had several other premenopause symptoms (like brain fog, irritability) that have mostly disappeared in the last few months. I don't seem to have any negative side effects. No weight gain or mood problems that I didn't have before."

For Birth Control "I started Loestrin 24 about a year and a half ago. I initially gained about 10 pounds and have consistently continued to gain weight. I look bloated most of the time and have also gotten cellulite, even though I am only in my twenties. I constantly have an appetite, and even though I exercise regularly, I cannot seem to lose the weight. However, the bright side is that my periods are non-existent, and I don't have cramping."

For Birth Control "Love this pill. I was on it for 2 years and decided to try other ones that were cheaper. Bad mistake! I never had any side effects from Loestrin, it was just pretty expensive. But after trying other ones, this one is the best out there. No bad acne. Short periods. No depression. No weight gain, which was great because as soon as I left Loestrin, I gained 15 lbs on my new pill. Horrible! I love, love this pill and am willing to pay 45 bucks because it makes me feel good!"

For Acne "No mood swings, which was excellent! But I have been breaking out in places I didn't know I could actually get pimples. I mean, I have a pimple on my thigh. Been on it for three weeks, and after the first week, started breaking out, and it just never stopped."

For Birth Control "I am almost done with my second pack of this birth control. Overall, I have NOTHING to complain about. I put on a couple of pounds, but I honestly would not blame that on the pill, besides the fact that it's my first year in college. Didn't worsen or better my skin and did not cause me ANY mood swings, and my sex drive is still intact, haha. The only thing I could probably say about it is that I will almost be a month late on my period, but as I've read other reviews, I hear that is normal, but I am not sure how comfortable I am with that. I would rather not have to have a mini panic attack every time I miss a period and wonder if I'm pregnant. But like I said, overall, pretty great pill!"

For Birth Control "I am 22 years old and recently got married. I am so glad that I waited until after the wedding to start Loestrin. The side effects have been horrible. I knew there were some possible negative effects, but I seem to be experiencing them all! I have gained weight, am extremely tired all the time, and cannot ever seem to get enough rest. Also, I have absolutely NO motivation. I have lost interest in everything, including my husband! I have ZERO sex drive. I am constantly depressed and have severe and uncontrollable mood swings."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 2 years now, and I love it. It is the only birth control I've ever been on, and it has not made me gain weight or any of the 'usual' side effects. The only thing I can say is that I don't like is that I don't get a period every month. It comes about every 3-5 months, which sometimes can be very frightening when you have an accident, and sometimes birth control does fail, but luckily Loestrin 24 hasn't failed me yet."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is my 5th month on this pill (in my 40s, prescribed for abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding). I keep getting my period while on the blue pills and then AGAIN when I start the white. Period is lighter, but getting it twice a month seems like an unfair price. Kept sticking with it because I like that it is low dose, but I'm just not sure it's right for me. Will probably call my doctor Monday. Was so hopeful this could help me. Also... moderate menstrual cramps experienced on this pill. I haven't had those in years."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for four months now. It was prescribed to me after I finished breastfeeding. For the most part, I liked the pill until I started having my period twice a month, and it lasts for a week. On top of that, I get very, very irritable right before they start. I occasionally get dizzy spells."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for a little more than a year, and it has been a wonderful experience for me. I have fibroids, and my cycles would be very heavy and would last at least 7-10 days. Now my cycle lasts 4 days, and I'm a little heavy the first two days. This pill has changed my cycle for the better, and I would recommend it to anyone experiencing a very heavy and lengthy cycle."

For Birth Control "After only taking this medicine for 9 days, I've already decided to discontinue use. My side effects are as follows: 1. Mood swings/depression/anxiety: none of these were present before I began taking the pill. I cry for no reason and have a constant feeling of deep, deep worry. I have begun questioning everyone's motives and feel hopeless. 2. Constant sleeping: before the pill, I would have to force myself to go to bed by 10 to be able to fall asleep by 11. I am exhausted by 8 pm now and generally crash by 9. 3. Cramps: stabbing pains, like with a period. 4. Breast tenderness. 5. Pain during intercourse. 6. Acne. 7. Severe nausea. I am stopping this now and getting my life back."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am a 25-year-old woman who has been on and off birth control for the last nine years. Being on various pills so long had killed my libido to the point that I forgot what it felt like to be aroused, and I recently began to bleed constantly between periods. I went to the gynecologist, and he put me on Loestrin 24 Fe. I, of course, went home and researched it. The reviews I saw made me wary, but I started the regimen on Sunday, as directed. Granted, I did get sick (read: threw up) the second day, but after that, I had no problems whatsoever. And you know what? I stopped spotting, and best of all, my libido skyrocketed. I'm at the end of my first month of pills, so we'll see how it goes next month, but for now I couldn't be happier."

For Birth Control "I just started this pill, and so far, I've noticed that I have been very moody, and my period has become much heavier so far. The moodiness has really affected me and my boyfriend because I start fights over the dumbest things. I'm going to give this a few months, and if nothing changes, I'm going to have to switch."

For Birth Control "This pill worked well for me. I was first put on the pill to help heavy periods and for contraception. I’ve tried various brands with bad side effects until this one that I was on for 2 years. Loestrin really agreed with me! I didn’t get any spotting, no skin problems, and I found it easier to lose weight with a small amount of effort. It didn’t help much with my heavy periods, but no pill has. It was good being able to control when my period came. You have to be quite accurate with when you take it every day, though. You also have to give it about 4 months to settle. The mini pill before this was horrific. The mini pill gave me oily skin, acne, and greasy hair within hours of washing. Loestrin was a relief and stopped all those symptoms. I’ve now been off the pill for a year as I wasn’t having sex that much and wanted to see what I’m like natural after 10 years of various pill taking. It’s made me realize how much Loestrin helped with my skin and weight!"

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I am 21 years old and started taking Loestrin Fe in the beginning of September. I have heard that birth control is supposed to make you gain weight, but I've actually been steadily losing weight, and that's without taking my Metformin regularly (which I am now back on). My breasts also continue to grow in size and are quite tender for about a week leading up to my period. I get some cramps, but they don't last very long. I had pretty bad PMS for a couple of days before my first period, but once I started my period, I was fine. Before taking this regularly, I was on progesterone for ten days once every three months but had not gotten a menstrual cycle from it for three doses. For PCOS, this is great."

For Acne "I'm 22, and this is my first time being on birth control. At first, I liked it because it regulated my period, and I went up a cup size, but that's the only positive experience I've had with this pill. I'm bloated around my midsection (I'm 5'6" and 107 lbs, and I look 2 months pregnant because of the bloating), my cramps are just as bad as they were off the pill, my breasts hurt so bad, and the biggest thing of all that I hate is that my face went from being flawless to severe acne EVERYWHERE! The pill is also expensive."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for about 5 years until I decided to take a break and get off the pill. Although my skin was clear and it was effective at basically eliminating my period and most cramping, do not take this pill. It gave me horrible mood swings, anxiety, and made me irrational, unreasonable, and angry (basically insane), which I didn't realize until I stopped taking it. I honestly thought I was just me until I got off and felt much more like myself. I've been happy and upbeat ever since."

For Birth Control "I hated being on this birth control. I switched from the patch that was throwing my liver out of control. My doctor suggested this low-dose birth control. I thought this would be awesome. I was horribly wrong. I went from having a period once a month to bleeding heavily every 2 weeks. After about a month, I started losing a lot of hair, I called my doctor, and he said it could take a few months to normalize. I finally started having a period once a month, but I would start when I still had 8 days of active pills left. Then it went to nothing for 3 months, great, right? Then bam, 2-week heavy period, cramps for days. I noticed my skin was having more breakouts that wouldn't go away. My under-control depression went crazy. Biggest mood swings: one minute I'm happy-go-lucky, the next I'm a rage case, the next moment I'm uncontrollably sad. I finally couldn't handle it and got put on a different birth control. I know every woman is different. But this one definitely wasn't for me."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started Loestrin 24 Fe about two weeks ago, and ever since I have had random spotting at least once a day. It took away my cramps and pains from my period, but my period won't go away now. After I finish this pack, I'll see what happens and if I should switch or not."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin 24 for over three years, and it worked wonderfully with my period; after about two years, my period was so light that I rarely even got one, which was awesome. I also didn't experience any change in my sex drive. However, I accidentally went off of it about five months ago (due to a change in insurance, and I couldn't afford it), and after about three weeks of being off of it, I dropped ten pounds (which, while I was on the pill, I was never able to accomplish, no matter how hard I dieted) and found myself in a much more stable and elevated mood. I realized after the fact that, although the pill was great for doing what it was supposed to, it made me gain a ton of weight, and I was consistently mildly depressed."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've only been on Loestrin 24 Fe for a month now. The side effects I have been having are cramping. I also started spotting, and the cramps became a bit worse, where I had to literally curl in a ball because it hurt so bad, and I got a period that is just all clotting. I'm not sure if that's normal, but maybe my body is just getting used to it. I notice a little increase in my breast size, which is a plus for me. I will continue to take Loestrin with hopes that the cramping clears up and the clotting of my period, because it worries me. Has anyone else had these issues? I sure hope my body becomes used to it and all my symptoms go away."

For Birth Control "It was convenient having the diminished periods. However, when I was on this pill, it put me into a horrible major depression. I had never before experienced any mental trauma or illness, and as soon as I realized that it might have been this birth control and took myself off of it, I was basically back to normal in about two weeks. It affects everyone differently, but I also had found out that a friend of mine was on this pill and she, too, was uncharacteristically depressed."

For Birth Control "I'm currently at the end of my third pack of these, and so far, it's not so bad. This is the first time I've been on 'the pill.' The first two months, I had a bit of spotting, but I didn't get my period... so of course, I had a mini panic attack. I didn't notice much else, and the second month was the same. This last month, I noticed I did gain a couple pounds, but not much to worry about since it seems it mostly just went to my boobs and backside, can't say I mind too much. Also, the spotting has pretty much almost gone away, and I still haven't had my period. I know I can't be pregnant, seeing as I use other methods of contraception as well, but it would be nice to have at least a day's worth of a period to calm my nerves."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill for 2 weeks. I took the 2nd day (pill) 15 minutes late, but since then I've had my period. So I've had my period for 2 weeks straight now. Plus, I get cramps and am moody all the time."
