For Birth Control "I was prescribed Larin Fe after my insurance no longer covered Lo Loestrin Fe (which I absolutely loved). I have been on Larin for about 2 months now, and it is absolutely awful. My mood swings have been vicious, I have always been a calm person, but being on Larin, I have been angry all the time and incredibly irritable and frustrated."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Larin Fe 1/20 birth control for about 4-5 months. I have sex about 3-5 times a week, if not more, and I know it’s supposed to be very effective in preventing pregnancy. However, since I’ve been taking this one, it has been making me miss periods and scaring me, having me nervous that I’m pregnant. I haven’t had my period last month, and the month before I got my period for the first time since a month. Hopefully I get it this month. I also have been crazy emotional and depressed almost every day and HORRIBLE mood swings. I get aggravated over little things, then perfectly fine the next. But it is different for everyone."

For Birth Control "My experience with this pill was horrible. The first month was fine besides some nausea and minor weight gain (mostly in breasts). By the second pack, I was an emotional wreck. All my underlying depression and PTSD came back tenfold. I cry all the time, and I never used to cry. My anxiety is horrible-and it had been under control before I started this pill. I started taking it because I have PCOS and hadn’t had a period in 10 months. I will say it did regulate my cycle, and I haven’t had any skin issues, cramps, or migraines... but wow, nothing would make this pill worth it."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill, Larin Fe 1/20, since March of 2020, and it's the first pill I've ever used as a contraceptive. Initially, I experienced terrible waves of nausea while on it, alongside nightmarish mood swings that would leave me absolutely depressed and near-suicidal over the smallest things. Nearly 7 months later, though, almost none of these symptoms exist. My mood swings are occasional and far easier to handle, and I have no nausea. Furthermore, this birth control made my period much lighter and shorter, which is a huge plus for me. It's been wonderful at keeping me from getting pregnant despite having had unprotected sex a number of times while on it. Ultimately, this pill works differently for everyone, and hopefully, many who use it in the future will have the same overall successes that I have had with it."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Larin Fe 1/20 for about 2 weeks now, and I’ve got to say that it is the worst I’ve ever felt on any birth control. Horrible nausea shortly after taking it, and increased anxiety and constant panicky, and on verge of tears feeling. I am a person that never dreams or remembers any dreams, at least, and ever since starting this pill, I have had nightmares almost every night and wake up in a panic in the middle of the night and resume nightmares when going back to sleep till morning. Insane mood swings and frequent hot flashes. Zero sex drive, so in that case, it is effective as birth control because it makes you not want to do anything at all. Not worth it. Only going to go to the end of this pack to not throw off my cycle completely, and I am never taking it again. Should be taken off the market after seeing all of the other negative reviews about it too. Scary stuff."

For Birth Control "So I was recommended to take this birth control because I have a cyst on my ovary. They are trying to see if birth control would stop it from growing. I'm 24, never was on birth control, never had a pregnancy scare, nothing. I've been taking this birth control since Oct 2019. And it's been the worst. The first month wasn't that bad, the second month until now has been awful, my boobs are extremely sore and enlarged, they never stop hurting. I will take my bra off and have to grab them because that's how bad they hurt! The period situation I have been spotting with cramps for 2 weeks now, it's annoying because I don't have a clue when it's going to stop. I get headaches, I don't really eat, mood swings are bad, in a horrible state of depression, and it's just like you can't tell what is wrong with you! I called my gynecologist and am waiting for my appointment to get off of it and back to how I was living before... birth control is bad for your body anyway, just have safe sex."

For Birth Control "I haven't even been on this for a month, and I'm already looking into something different. My head is always hurting, I'm nauseous, tired, and my anxiety has been off the charts. And I've been insanely emotional. The only good thing is that I'm not pregnant, but the symptoms are similar to pregnancy, so it still makes me think I'm pregnant."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Larin 1.5/30 for maybe two and a half months. At first, I didn’t notice any real side effects, but eventually, they all started to creep in. It started with my breasts becoming swollen and tender to the touch, and they’ve been uncomfortably tender for about two straight months now. My appetite has decreased dramatically, and some days I barely eat at all. I feel like I’ve definitely lost some weight due to that, and I’m terrified of it getting worse because I’m trying to actually gain some weight right now. I randomly get headaches and some small cramps, but nothing too bad. I would say the worst part about all of this is the anxiety and mood swings I’ve had. I already have anxiety, but since taking this birth control, it’s gotten much worse. I will say, though, it is HIGHLY effective at preventing pregnancy."

For Birth Control "I'm 24 and took this BC, Larin Fe 1/20, for 3 months. I can see the negatives. In the first month, I was experiencing random light bleeding directly after taking the pill, definite mood changes (much more irritable), and chest pain. The second month, I noticed that my acne was getting worse (I do have acne-prone skin). I was hoping birth control would help my breakouts but instead gave me worse acne on my cheeks and chin (I never got acne on my chin badly before). My side effects in the third month are what made me decide to switch BC pills. I noticed that my hair was definitely falling out more than usual. I have thick hair as it is, but noticed in the shower my hands were literally covered in hair on wash days, which I have never experienced prior to this BC. I'm actually scared to wash my hair, seeing how much falls out. My last week on the pill, I also experienced intense headaches out of nowhere. The pros to Larin Fe 1/20 are that my periods are super light and short and that I am not pregnant."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control since August 2020. I have never used the pill before, I’ve always used long-term birth controls. I like how I know exactly when my period is going to start, but I noticed that on the week that I don’t take the pills, I am extremely emotional. I find myself crying all the time, extremely depressed. Emotional rollercoaster. If you have mental health issues, maybe this pill is not for you. Which I should look into changing soon as well."

For Birth Control "I started this pill in May of 2018, and I’m currently still on it. The good: I had no weight gain, I never experienced any pain, my period went from 7 days to 4 days, and I had unprotected sex and haven’t gotten pregnant *knock on wood*. The bad: I feel like I’ve become extremely depressed, anxious, and impulsive since the end of June to now. So much changed within me that I feel it really affected me and the people around me. I have mild mood swings now, any teenage girl has these, but it feels a little more extreme. I’m considering getting off of it just because I don’t feel like myself, and I’ve become impulsive, and I want to say a little bit bipolar. I never had these mental issues before I started taking it. I recommend this product, everyone has different side effects, but be cautious if you feel like your mental health has become worse, then maybe get off of it."

For Birth Control "I was put on this birth control to help stop bleeding and to help regulate my periods. I just finished the first pack, but for the ENTIRE MONTH, my breasts have swelled and are EXTREMELY painful to the point I’m in tears. I was already diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and my mood swings became even worse. And I’ve been cramping and bleeding for 2 weeks straight now, and Tylenol or ibuprofen won’t help at all. I don’t recommend this birth control! There has not been ONE day on this pill that I felt ok."

For Birth Control "I have been on this Larin Fe 1/20 birth control for a full year. The first 6 months were a roller coaster. I had random bleeding, mood swings, and I was depressed. I did not feel like myself. My OBGYN did tell me that for the first 6 months your body will need to adjust, so I was prepared. I kept asking myself when is this gonna end? I actually got on a great routine with it (after the 6 months), and all of the above stopped. I did notice when I didn't take it at the same time for days in a row, I had random bleeding. The only thing is that my sex drive has plummeted, and this is so awful. I have come to the point where I don't even want to do it anymore, and I have never been like that. I think after my last refill (this month), I am going off of it. But, in the end, it did do what it needed to. Be safe and do what is best for you."

For Birth Control "I am 28 years old and a wife and mommy of two. The only reason I was put on birth control was due to painful periods and possibly having endometriosis. And the thought of only a 2-3 day period and no pain for periods sounded nice, but I was on this birth control for 4 months till I had a scare and had to switch to another one. It made me bleed a lot and have blood clots. I felt nausea. And I was told it was normal, so I kept taking it until the scare happened when I started having really sharp chest pain that sent me to the hospital, it seemed like I was having a heart attack! It also made me very emotional and depressed. I would not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "This Larin Fe 1/20 is amazing. I went on it because I have extremely bad cystic acne. I’ve only been taking it for 2 weeks, and I notice a difference already. The only side effect I have is probably just mood swings. I was on Enskyce before this for about a year, and it was the worst."

For Birth Control "I have been on Larin Fe for about 4 years now and started when I was 16. I would say there are many pros and cons to this specific birth control. For starters, my acne fully cleared up on my entire body, and my periods are lighter and shorter. However, my periods are not always regular, and I’ve experienced acid reflux and nausea from Larin Fe. It definitely took my body quite a bit of time to adjust to this birth control, and for the first couple of months, I experienced very severe side effects such as weight change and mood swings. Overall, everyone’s bodies are different, but this is my personal experience."

For Birth Control "I thought I was crazy for thinking this birth control was making weird things happen to me. I was on Taytulla for 3 years straight with no issues at all, and I loved it, then last month my insurance didn't cover it, and my OBGYN said she switched me to a 'similar pill.' It has been a month and a half since I have been on Larin, and I noticed I have crazy mood swings, can be super fatigued some days and then have anxious energy the other days, after only being able to sleep 4 hours when I know my body needs 8 normally. I thought it may have been the foods I was eating, but I was wrong. I started having breakthrough bleeding for the past 3 days straight in the middle of my cycle, and I never had that at all with my previous pill. I am so frustrated that this birth control is on the market because the side effects are horrible. May I also add I had a panic attack within the first month when I hadn't had one in about 4 years."

For Birth Control "This birth control *destroyed* me. I have never been hormonal or emotional to literally everything before. I have been on this for about 6 months, and in those six months, my urge to have sex has completely diminished. I cry at everything, I’m angry all the time, etc. I seriously would stay away from this pill as long as you live. I’m having to go off of it because it’s ruining my relationship. Seriously, stay away from this pill, if I could go lower than 1 star, I would."

For Birth Control "I started taking Larin Fe 1/20 after my insurance stopped covering Lo Loestrin (which I LOVED). Let me tell you this pill is GREAT at preventing pregnancies, but I am not sure if the side effects are worth it. I am now on my fourth pack of Larin Fe, and I am the moodiest, most raging woman you will ever meet. I really do not recommend starting this pill. My mood swings are insane, I feel depressed most days, any little thing that goes wrong makes me feel very irritable, and I usually end up crying. Also, I am very good at taking my pills daily, so I do not know the reason as to why my period is SO heavy and SO painful. I have been getting my period for 8-10 days every month, which is absolutely ridiculous considering I would have it for 3-4 days on Lo Loestrin. I am too scared to get the arm implant, so I am going to continue taking these pills, but I am considering just stopping birth control altogether as I do not feel like myself since starting Larin."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control on March 8th on the first day of my period and had unprotected sex 7 days after and then two days after that, both on my most fertile days. Hoping it works as it should. I keep having pregnancy symptoms such as painful nausea and bloating. I’m tired all the time and have no motivation whatsoever. I have been diagnosed with depression last year and I HIGHLY recommend not to take this pill if you suffer with mental health issues!! This pill made me more suicidal than I have been in a long time, and my mood swings were horrendous. Hopefully, I’m not pregnant! But I would not recommend it to those with mental health issues. It did help my acne a bit though, I will admit that."

For Birth Control "Prior to taking this birth control, I had terrible cramps, almost completely irregular periods, and rough mood swings. This pill saved my girly parts because after about 2 months, my period almost completely disappeared, very light, and bled maybe a full day and a day of spotting, and moderate cramps every other month. I experience mood swings only the week of my period, and it’s been pretty spot on every month. The only time it’s changed is when I take antibiotics. Highly recommend for a beginner's birth control pill!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on the pill for 4 going on 5 months, and I don’t have any complaints. My periods are regulated and light. I haven’t experienced any migraines or weight gain, but I have noticed a change in my mood. I want to sleep all of the time, and sometimes I feel really crappy about myself. Other than that, I haven’t had any issues with it."

For Birth Control "Worst pill ever, please do not take and please listen to these reviews. Started out great then started with very sharp pains, was on bed rest and almost rushed to the ER.... no sign of my period but I sure feel it coming because of the pain, bloating, cramps, acid reflux, sickness, PMS, mood swings, anger, and depression which WON'T STOP. Save yourself the trouble and don’t take!!!!"

For Birth Control "*PLEASE READ* I never put reviews for medication I have been on, but I wanted to WARN all the girls who have to be put on this generic pill for some reason. I used to take Lo Loestrin, and it was amazing, however, my insurance stopped covering it, so I was given Larin Fe. WORST MISTAKE OF MY DAMN LIFE... At first, I didn't have any symptoms, but within a month, I've hit the darkest of spots in my life: insomnia, shakiness, HORRIBLE anxiety, breakouts (not severe), acid reflux, lack of appetite. Sadly, there was not a single day in that month where I felt normal, I was going crazy with mood swings, depression. I barely could leave my bed, I even had several panic attacks. I wish I could say a positive side to this drug, but THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE ABOUT THIS DRUG. Believe these negative reviews, please, and if you don't feel any side effects right now, the second you feel it, please switch to a different birth control. It won't get any better waiting."
