For Birth Control "I absolutely hate it. Took it for 1.5 weeks and stopped because I was bleeding, and I still am. It’s been three weeks of bleeding now. I’m miserable. Mood changes (for the worse). Generally feeling more irritable than usual, probably because I haven’t stopped bleeding for three weeks. It’s not worth wrecking your body over. NEVER AGAIN."

For Birth Control "So I’m currently on my fourth month of this pill right now, and I’ve been nonstop bleeding for 3 weeks. I’ve also slightly broken out a little more than usual from this pill. But the 3-week period is insufferable, I’m definitely going to be switching pills."

For Birth Control "Junel Fe was fine. I didn't love it, but it wasn't the worst birth control I was ever on. It did its job and kept me from getting pregnant, and my mood swings were not as bad as on some other birth control pills. It also did not do as well lightening my periods, I had some cramping and a few really heavy periods. All in all, I would probably recommend it, but it wouldn't be my first recommendation."

For Birth Control "I have had a very positive experience using Junel Fe 24. I started this BC after I went to my doctor with severe bleeding that would not stop for months at a time. I was later diagnosed with menorrhagia and prescribed these pills. I have been on them for 3 months now with hardly any side effects. My first cycle after starting the pills was heavy, but since then they have been very light and short. Before starting Junel, I suffered from horrible migraines 3-4 days out of the week, and since starting them, I have only had 1 headache in the last 3 months. I can't give an opinion on how effective it is at preventing pregnancy since I am not sexually active. Above all, I have been very pleased with my experience taking this BC, and I hope it is just as helpful to others who may suffer from this condition."

For Birth Control "I have almost been on this pill for almost a month, and I don't know if it's just me, but I take my pill at night. And then feel depression in the morning and now feeling anxiety. I don't even know why because my life is great! The only thing I could think right now is this new pill I just started. As a kid, I used to have depression and anxiety, I haven’t felt those sad feelings in about 10 years now. My doctor said to give it about 3 months, but after seeing other people’s reviews and info on this pill, I just don’t know. I might stop before it gets bad off because the side effects are already rubbing off on me."

"Just barely got off of Junel Fe 24. I had been taking it for 6 months to regulate my period. At first, it was regulating it. Then, the past two months, I had 4 periods within those 2 months. I'm not sexually active, so it hasn't affected me in any way that way. But these past two months, my hormones have been all over the place. Not my favorite."

For Birth Control "I have been experiencing breakthrough bleeding every month for the past 4 months, before and after I get my period. My acne has gotten worse, and my cramps are still there. This is by far the worst medication I have ever tried and will be changing soon."

For Birth Control "I don't like Junel Fe 24 at all. I am towards the end of my first pack, so the past few weeks I’ve been spotting... the entire time. I haven’t started my period yet, but it’s only the first day of me taking the brown pills. I just know once I finish I’m not taking any more. The “breakthrough bleeding” is just too much. I have gone through so many panty liners this month than I have in a year. It’s very inconvenient. I will be calling my ob/gyn and finding something else. Other than that I haven’t had any other symptoms, but I’d rather take those other symptoms over this."

For Birth Control "I was on a form of birth control called Mibelas for 9 years and then started to have slight breakthrough bleeding a few times per month. Dr. switched me to Junel, and it was fine the first month, but then I started having very frequent breakthrough bleeding and cramps over the last 4 months. It’s going to be different for every person, but it’s not great for me. Approaching 50 in a year or so and ready to be done with the pill!!!"

For Birth Control "This birth control made me break out really bad with cystic acne. I noticed weight loss, about 10 pounds. (This could just be related to stress though.) I also did notice more anxiety than normal. I’ve been taking this pill for almost 3 months and have not received a period (my period is usually super normal and comes exactly on the date, but not since I started Junel). My doctor is switching me to Sprintec, hopefully this will help with the acne and will regulate my period."

For Birth Control "I have a disease called Empty Sella Syndrome, and basically my pituitary gland is flattened by an enlarged brain, making my hormones non-existent and have no estrogen. I was miserable for a long time. They started me on estrogen/progesterone tablets, but it did nothing to increase my estrogen because it was not absorbing through my stomach due to my gastroparesis. Then they switched me to estrogen injections/progesterone tablets, which increased my estrogen, but after a month or so, I ended up getting my period for 4 months straight and nothing was stopping it. If I missed my injections, I would be miserable with mood swings, hot flashes, and exhaustion. Turned out this was because the injections were making my estrogen too high. I then started Junel Fe 24 and was able to stop the injections/progesterone and only have to take the Junel Fe 24. I have no more postmenopausal symptoms, and my period only comes on the designated days. This medication changed my life for the better when nothing else was working!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for about 2 weeks and it's the first pill I've taken, but I have had horrible cramps (which never happen to me) and my heaviest period to date. I have pretty clear skin, but I've noticed a few spots showing up in my lower cheek area, but nothing alarming yet. I have also noticed my appetite is through the roof, which is abnormal for me. I will finish out the pack and see how it goes, but I'm not sure about continuing after that because of the cramps and hunger."

For Birth Control "I have been on this medicine for 6 weeks and switched from Lo Loestrin FE due to continuous bleeding every other week. This medicine was great, and I had no side effects or bleeding until 3 weeks in. I have started to get nauseous when eating once a week, which was fine because I figured it was just a side effect of the pill. This week, I actually had to leave work early and be rushed to urgent care because I was so nauseous, lightheaded, and pale for hours. We thought I had the flu, but the next day I was fine other than some cramps and spotting, which leads me to believe it was side effects of this medicine."

For Birth Control "Please, whatever you do, do not take this pill. In my opinion, I have always dealt with anxiety and depression, but never like this before. Nonstop thoughts racing through my mind and random moments of sadness and crying. This pill has been debilitating, and I cannot function on it. I don't like it. I took it for my ovarian cysts, and I’d almost rather deal with that pain than the mental suffering this has caused me. Not only mentally painful but physically. I have blood clots in my legs and feel like I have one in my chest. As with every birth control, everyone’s body acts differently, but take this into consideration."

For Birth Control "This pill has made my breakouts go from 0 to 100. I normally have great skin, but after two months, I have been breaking out by my chin and lower jaw with cystic acne and whiteheads. I was originally on Lo Loestrin for 2 years until my insurance stopped covering it. I have used Junel for two months so far, but do not want to continue to the third because of how insecure I have become with my acne. I know it could be worse, but for me, it is not a fun time. However, it did improve my mental health compared to Lo Loestrin with being less anxious, but insecurity has risen. I also get my period now unlike with Loestrin. No weight gain."

For Birth Control "I started this pill December 8th, when I started my 1st period after having my daughter, and this pill has my period all out of whack. It is going on 4 weeks with this period, and let's just say I'm over it. I'm about to stop this pill. DON'T TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!!"

For Birth Control "This - Junel Fe 24 - is my first birth control pill I've taken in my life. I began my pill on the Sunday which was the 5th day of my period. The first week was fine except for nausea and a small breakout on my forehead. Everything was just peachy until the second week of taking these pills, I began having brown breakthrough bleeding ever since, and it has not stopped! It's annoying having to constantly wear and buy panty liners. Hopefully, my body adjusts in time and the bleeding goes away."

For Birth Control "The pill works great after 3 months of taking it, been on it for a while, and I’m happy with it. However, the texture of the pills makes it almost impossible to get down your throat a lot of the time. I never struggle with pills, but Junel Fe 24 in particular is so rough textured. It’s so bad I would like to switch to a different brand, but I don’t want to regulate for 3 months again."

For Birth Control "I started taking Junel Fe about 2 years ago. It seemed decent at first. No weight gain, periods regulated, no pregnancies, helped with mood around the period. Seemed pretty good. Until it wasn’t. I started having severe mouth issues. I’m talking like burning all through my mouth and severe dryness. My tongue felt as though I licked the hot stovetop or ate scalding soup. I was getting ulcers and sores all through my mouth and on my tongue. It was horrible. I went to the dentist and was told I have dry mouth and burning mouth syndrome, but they didn’t know why. My doctor had no idea and chalked it up to my age (38) and getting ready for the change. Well, I have a medical background, started researching, and it can be a rare side effect of this birth control! My OB told me I was wrong. Another OB in the same office told me I could absolutely be right and to stop the pill to see. Within 1 month off this pill, the burning mouth went away! My dryness got much better also."

For Birth Control "I've been on Junel Fe 24 for about 1 1/2 years now. Works very well as a contraceptive. Definitely causes significant weight gain if you are not active. I am able to have a period every 5 months, though I have to be off the pill for at least a week before the bleeding starts. Bleeding stops about 3 days after I begin taking it again. If you decide to take this pill, it will take a while for your body to acclimate to it. You have to be on top of the weight gain once it begins. Periods may be hard to control or manage at first, but once you get into a rhythm, it is great. It is a great contraceptive. I have unprotected intercourse twice a week with my partner of about a year and have not had any pregnancy scares or worries. I highly recommend this."

For Birth Control "I've been on Junel Fe 24 for almost a year now, and it has been WAY better than the patch I was on before. I swapped because of crippling nausea. I use it for birth control, but it really helps my periods too. Sometimes I don't even get a period, and when I do, it's short and light (usually). I have around the same amount of acne that I usually do, no nausea. The main problem I'm having is low sex drive. I'm almost never in the mood, and when I am, nothing is satisfying. Going to see about switching to a different brand in a few weeks. Cigna completely covers it for me."

For Birth Control "I used to be on Larin 24 Fe. It was okay. I had problems before with a BCP causing bad yeast infections every month, so I switched to Nexplanon, the arm implant, and it gave me cystic acne, which I never had before. I then decided to have it removed and to try Larin, a pill which helped with the acne problem a little, but when I moved to FL, I was told I had to take Junel and that it was the same thing. It's not the same thing, don't listen to them if it works for you! Junel made me break out so much around my jaw and chin and also gave me anxiety and anger problems. Just switched to a new BCP last week :) (took Junel for 5 months before I could find a clinic to switch me)"

For Birth Control "This is by far the worst birth control I’ve been on. At first, everything was fine and I had no side effects. Then, about 6 months in, I began to suffer from severe cystic acne all over my cheeks and chin to the point where I went to the dermatologist to get a prescription to help clear it up because, at that point, Junel Fe had been helping with my periods (I didn’t have one for about 4 months), and I didn’t want to switch yet. None of the medication from the dermatologist has helped, and then I began bleeding for about 2 months. My skin has gotten worse (horrible scarring and painful acne), and it has greatly affected my self-esteem and mood. I am hoping to switch over to something else ASAP. I highly DON'T recommend this one."

For Birth Control "Doctor switched me to Junel Fe after being on Taytulla for months. I don’t have many good things to say about Junel Fe. My face is worse than it has ever been. It made my hair dry, and it has started to fall out. And I have had terrible cramping from the beginning."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control over 2 months ago, and today I had to call it quits. Everything was great for the first month, except for some occasional mood swings. But those mood swings increased so much by the 2nd month. I constantly feel angry all the time, and I don’t even know why. I absolutely hate feeling this way. My poor husband had spent the last 2 months getting yelled at by me all the time for no reason, which is so not like me. But I gave it a 5 because mood swings were the only side effect I got from this birth control in the past couple of months I’ve been taking it."
