"I was on Junel Fe 1/20 for 2 weeks, and I changed instantly as a person, my personality changed dramatically, I didn’t even know who I was after being on this, I got depressed, I cried for no reason, I felt really crazy from it. As soon as I stopped taking it I felt instantly better, I became myself again."

"I have taken Junel Fe 1/20 for two months primarily as a method of birth control. So far, I have had a few episodes of mild nausea, and one more serious episode where the nausea was nearly immobilizing and accompanied with harsh pelvic pain and spotting. I have had some mood swings and low feelings -- though I experienced this prior in the form of PMS, too. My breasts seem slightly larger, though I have not gained weight otherwise. Prior to taking Junel Fe 1/20, I had very occasional breakouts, which I am still experiencing. I experienced spotting and light bleeding on the active pills -- which will hopefully subside as the hormones regulate."

"I never feel compelled to review anything but this pill ruined me so badly that I feel I need to. I only lasted 2 weeks taking this pill. When on Junel Fe 1/20 had horrible head aches, nausea, and depression. I cried constantly for no reason I blew up on people for no reason, and my skin began to break out horribly. The worst part was the bloating. I have been bloated day and night for over a week. My weight is up from the water weight. I’m so uncomfortable 24/7. I stopped taking the pill and am now withdrawal bleeding heavy blood with the worst cramps I’ve ever had in my life. DO NOT take this birth control. It is ruining my life."

"I'm in the middle of my fourth month on the pill, and during this month I feel much better! I had some weight gain at first, but that's okay now. My face is having a lot more issues with acne so that sucks. The worst thing was during the first three months I had spotting for two weeks then would be off for a week and would spot again for two week. It was light, but constant and annoying!! I kept telling myself I was going to change and make an appointment asap but hesitated because I wanted to wait it out and give it more of a chance. I reccomend people to do that with this pill because it's all evening out right, it just took time."

"I’ve been on this birth control for about four months now and it’s been good to me so far. The first month my emotions were heightened a little bit but since then I’m back to normal. My periods are so light and I’ve only gained a couple pounds, which honestly is probably not even because of this birth control. Would recommend"

"I was on Junel FE 1/20 for the 3 month adjustment period. Once I finished the 3rd pack I decided not to continue because every 3 weeks I was getting yeast infections. In total I had 4 infections during the 3 month period. As for my acne, it got worse the first 2 months and then better. Skin was really dry though. Sex drive decreased. Didn’t gain any weight though which was nice and my emotions were very stable even with my history of anxiety and depression."

"I was dreading starting this birthcontrol of horror stories online & feared it'd worsen my anxiety/depression. The first 2 weeks were bad; chills, shakiness, body ache, nausea, crying, bloated, & swollen boobs. My dr. said to give it time & symptoms will ease as my body adjusts, & said to take it nightly to sleep thru the nausea. After first 2 weeks I was ok & I've taken it for 9 months with out issue, but: 1.) I take it nightly & if I wake up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night I'm nauseous & often dry heave. I'm often nauseous next morning too. 2.) I've not had a period since starting it. First few months I had spotting & the past 3 months I've had no period at all. My Dr. said it's common & I don't mind but miss knowing I'm not pregnant each month. It hasn't worsened my mental health & maybe even helps regulate my mood (having no period and no PMS). It's a very low dose & I feel anything stronger would give me more adverse symptoms, so I'm sticking with it because my body tolerates it relatively well."

"I have been on this birth control Junel Fe 1/20 for 2 1/2 almost 3 years. The first 2 years were great. Cleared up my acne, no PMS symptoms, period was light, no side effects. This past year or 1/2 year, I have had nothing but issues. Periods are a bit heavier & irregular, for the first time I got migraines 3 days in a row with some nausea. I also have started having panic attacks, a bit of depression, & anxiety, which is so unlike me. Thinking about going off of this."

"I actually recently got off of Junel, and since being off I realized I'm much happier, my sex drive has increased, I've been able to lose weight, and I'm not downright exhausted all the time. When I was still on it I'd notice right before my period I'd turn into a(n even more) psychotic, emotional wreck. I am also significantly less depressed now. I did not like the pill and these are my personal experiences, but of course everyone takes differently to medication."

"I took Junel Fe 1/20 for one month. Within 2 weeks I was throwing up everyday (up to 30 times) I couldn’t keep anything down and I was soo sick I couldn’t even get out of bed, I quickly put two and two together and realized it was the birth control. I stopped it and felt better the next day. It would make me deathly sick for like 16 hours! I also bled nonstop extremely heavily for 12 days and still going.."

"I've been on Junel for 10 months now and have no complaints. I had very mild nausea and mood swings for the first 2 months but have not experienced these since. My moderate acne has completely cleared up thanks to this pill. My only complaint is that my pack is 21 days with no placebo pills. I wish I had the placebo pills for consistency. Also, I did not gain weight but I regularly make healthy lifestyle choices and am active."

"I have been using Junel 1/20 for almost 3 years now. The only positives I have experienced are no cramping and stabilized moods. My period consists of 2 weeks of spotting which I find incredibly annoying, I would rather have 1 week of a regular period. The worst side effect for me has been weight gain and the inability to lose weight. Over 3 years I have gained 20-25 lbs. I am unable to lose it despite having consistently worked out for 4-5 days a week with a personal trainer. I have completely changed my eating habits (cut out pop, fast food, and cut back on sugar and alcohol). I kept thinking it was my fault but after being committed to weight loss for 2 years and seeing no results, I blame this pill."

"I am only on the begining of week two, however I've never had a lower sex drive in my life. I've also never been more nauseous in my life. I throw up nightly. Took a pregnancy test and I'm not pregnant. Unless it gets better after this packet of pills I'll be calling my pharmacist to switch to a different type of birth control."

"I am on my second pack and 3rd row of medication I have depression and anxiety and started the pill because my PMS was horrible and it was really irregular. My doctor put me on this medication and the non-physical aspects of my PMS were reduced greatly and even the physical aspects were reduced. I was so happy. I had breakthrough bleeding and abnormal discharge but then started having some heavier breakthrough bleeding which was a little strange. It cleared up my acne significantly as well. I started having nausea and stomach aches this past week and I don’t know if that’s because of my eating habits/stress or because of the medication. I also had just today some breakthrough bleeding like a light period with dark almost brown colored blood and cramps. I assumed this was just because of the medicine and it didn’t really affect me too bad today.I have been so incredibly happy on it, it pretty much changed my entire life. I feel like a whole new person."

"Everyone is different, but I have LOVED this! I haven't experienced any side effects, except now when I start to get my period, my breasts hurt a little bit it goes away once I start. My period has lightened, my acne has cleared up, and I haven't gotten pregnant, so, I recommend this!"

"I went on birth control for the first time in my life, I was experiencing bad acne and cramps almost 15 days before my period starts. My only fear was the weight gain , but I decided to give it a shot and try to control my PMS . I was on Junel Fe 1/20 for almost 5 months, did not get my period for the first three months and I only had spotting for 2 weeks every month, my acnes got to it's worse level and I experienced some huge acnes on my back too. After being on Junel for 5 months I noticed that I gained 10lb and it was a time when I decided to call my doctor to put me on something else. I am on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo and so far it has been a good pill but with major headaches. I hate Junel Fe 1/20 since it gifted me 10lb in 5 months."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!!!! I have only been on Junel FE for 4 days and I could feel my anxiety increasing each day but last night I had a full blown anxiety attacked. I couldn’t sleep AT ALL, I threw up, I had the shakes, my chest felt like I was at the top of a roller coaster about to drop down and that feeling wouldn’t go away so I had to call off work today. After googling Junel FE I absolutely cannot believe this is on the market and that it was prescribed to me even while being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. This medicine drove me crazy."

"Honestly never had a problem with Junel Fe1/20. I have been on it for 4 years, never gained weight, cleared up my acne, and never gave me mood swings. I use it continuously (never have period) and it has been great. Tbh, give it a shot and use it for longer than 3 months and you'll be fine."

"I started June Fe four months ago and never had a period on the days I took the hormone free iron pills. The first month I had lots of breakthrough bleeding and bled two weeks threw up almost everyday, had headaches daily, The second month bled four days thought ohhh yes! I can get used to this, couple weeks later into the third month I bled for two weeks again in mid pack, face broke out to the point of scaring, my thoughts have been awful. I’ve been anxious and then going into the fourth month I was emotionally unstable, crying, raging, I am a step mom of four kids and a mom to a daughter of my own I can’t be acting like this or bleeding to the point I think I’m bleeding out, I was supposed to start a pack Friday before Labor Day and I didn’t , I’m not and won’t ever again. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Now hopefully I won’t get knocked up lol"

"If you want to know how severe these side effects can get-keep reading. So I’ve been on Junel for two months now. This past week both my mom and dad stayed home from work because I became suicidal, manic, and more ANGRY THAN I HAVE EVER BEEN FOR A WEEK STRAIGHT literally for no reason. I broke my new iPhone 8 Plus ( for no reason) and then started ripping my hair out bc I was so distraught) I cry for no reason. I panic to the point that my throat feels like it’s closing up. I can’t stay in a store more than 5 minutes because the anxiety starts to turn into a panic attack and I just start staring at the floor.. etc etc."

"Junel Fe has caused me to be come EXTREMELY emotional and I have gained at least 10 pounds in my stomach area. I feel embarrassed because I am usually a small petite girl. I'm definitely going to call my pharmacist to ask."

"Continued: I experienced some breast tenderness and slight breast growth (I ain't complaining about that) I'm currently in my second pack and experiencing no side effects at all! I am very happy with this medication and impressed with how well it worked out for me despite all the negative reviews. Don't let the reviews frighten you, everyone's BODY'S are different so try it out for yourself!! :) good luck"

"I have never in my life had such serious side affects with any prescription like I have with this. I took it for a total of 10 days before I had to stop. At day 4, I had 3 pretty severe anxiety attacks, days 4-10 I experienced really bad mood swings, hard crying for no reason and at day 10, I was put into the deepest depression I've ever experienced to the point where I had to go to a friends house as I was worried about self harm. I am serious. The most horrific feelings and I'm on day 2 of not taking it and I'm nauseous, have a headache that won't go away and my chest hurts from the anxiety that I am feeling."

"I will give this Junel Fe 1/20 pill a 5/10. So I have taken this pill for 3 months, this is my first time using a BC. It didn't give me such horrible side effects like going crazy (even tho my bf stated that I was meaner during that time) my sex drive was the same, no change, no weight gain, only got the headaches first month after that it almost felt like nothing BUT the biggest thing about this pill was I've had back to back yeast infections, especially on the week before my period. IT WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE to go through. I did not want to believe that it was the BC, but I was desperate to get rid of yeast infection after all the meds that I had that didn't work. It has been 3 weeks since I got off this pill, and I finally feel like me again, with no any mild or severe symptoms of yeast infection."
