Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I absolutely hate this medication. They gave it to me because my Junel Fe was on backorder. Horrible mood swings, zero sex drive whatsoever, symptoms of depression, breakthrough bleeding, and lack of interest within things I previously loved. I didn't use this for the purpose of preventing pregnancy, but it didn't even work for the things I needed it for. Everyone is different, but I have never experienced such dark emotions in my life, and this was a horrible experience."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have been on Loestrin for about 9 months now and took it to both reduce my period and birth control. I used to get my period for 7 to 9 days, and it would be extremely heavy to the point I had to change every hour to 2 hours. Yes, I know, horrible. Ever since I started taking Loestrin, I have my period for 4 days at the most, and it's super light. When I first started the pills, I still would bleed a little between periods, but after about 3 months, all that went away. I used to forget, but I use an alarm now, and it works; I never forget now. I haven't had any side effects, no weight gain, but I haven't gotten my period this month, and I'm not pregnant. I would rather have my period for at least a day so I won't get scared that I'm pregnant."

Blisovi Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I've been taking this for over 6 months. I've had no side effects, no nausea, no weight gain - and thankfully, no periods! No bleeding or cramps. Also, no pregnancy. I'm shocked by all the negative reviews. It's perfect and works great for me"

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I decided to switch to Loloestrin FE after being on Beyaz for 2 months. I felt fine at the start but by the week before my period I began to feel really down. Then one day I had a panic attack. This has never happened to me before. It freaked me out so I stopped taking it altogether. For the next month I felt ok but by my next period all hell broke loose. What followed was a month of extreme anxiety. I felt as though I was in mourning. I had multiple panic attacks. I went to a doctor and was prescribed xanax. I began looking into psychiatrists and researching anxiety meds, thinking I was broken for life. I took time off work and devoted all my energy to trying to get better. I am pleased to say that 2 months after stopping, I finally felt like me again. This pill traumatized me and greatly disrupted my life. It's especially dangerous for women who are prone to anxiety/depression. If you are experiencing something similar just know that it will be ok and things will get better."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "** DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL ** If you have any underlying mental health issues/anxiety or anything I do not recommend this pill at all. I have pretty mild anxiety, I don’t take anything for it, but I do not suffer from depression. I took Lo Lo and immediately, the first day of taking it I got depression symptoms. By day 2 and 3 I had suicidal thoughts and I have NEVER in my life been suicidal. Literally nothing was wrong but I was uncontrollably sobbing every day and having suicidal thoughts. It was the most messed up feeling like I couldn’t even function any more. It took me 4 days to realize it was the Lo Lo so I stopped and I am finally feeling better. I could not believe how awful the symptoms were so I had to leave a review to let anyone considering Lo Lo to know what it can do to your mental health."

Blisovi Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I started taking Bilsovi after my pharmacy switched me from taytulla. I was only on it for a month and a half. Aside from the fact my skin was completely clear, the side effects were horrible for me. I gained some weight and my mood swings were horrible. I've never in my life experienced severe anxiety until taking this pill. I genuinely thought I was going crazy. I never struggled with panic attacks until this pill. Every morning I woke up anxious. I also experienced really bad cramping and pelvic pain. And mild breast tenderness. I ended up convincing myself I was pregnant. I’ve been off of it for a week now and I feel like my normal self. I’d be cautious on this one."

Junel Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I’ve been reading a lot of these reviews and unfortunately have read that most people have really bad experiences with this birth control. Personally, this is the first birth control I have taken that hasn’t completely ruined my life. My boobs have gotten bigger, I’m finally filling out, my acne is clearing up, and I haven’t had any nausea/depression. Strangely, while most reviewers have noticed a decrease in sex drive, mine has increased and vaginal dryness is not a thing for me. I think it is safe to say that this form of bc is not for everyone, but it is worth a shot."

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I cannot believe the negative reviews on this. They did scare me, but I still gave it a shot, and have NEVER been happier with a birth control! My acne is cleared up, my sex drive is still incredible, I have LOST WEIGH and my periods are almost NON EXISTENT! The only thing I wish is that I would have gotten on this sooner! I love this birth control and I suggest trying it before buying into the negative reviews. Everyone is different."

Blisovi Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Don’t listen to the bad reviews! As someone else stated, people who have good experiences tend to not leave a review. I was terrified to take this Blisovi Fe 1.3/30 birth control because of all the bad reviews. I took the risk anyway and I’ve had literally zero of the horrible symptoms others reported (apart from a mild headache the first couple days). I have PCOS, I feel like the hirsutism (unwanted facial hair) has slowed and I’m losing weight (although I am watching my food). Give it a shot!"

Blisovi Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was only on this pill for about 5 months before I got off. I never really noticed any terrible side effects, and the only things I noticed were a change in discharge and a temporary increase in acne. The acne dissipated in the third month, and my skin actually cleared up before birth control. I never felt that it affected my mood whatsoever, and my sex drive stayed the same. One thing I have to mention is that once I got off this pill, my acne went insane and I'm still dealing with it now more than a year later."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Ladies do not take this medication. The month I began this Lo Loestrin Fe pill my life became a bit of a nightmare. The first month I had spotting every other day then a horrible yeast infection (my 1st one EVER) during my actual period on the fourth week. During the 2nd month I had breakthrough bleeding every other day, a period the 2nd week and another during the inactive week. My mood has been so high and low. I have no desire to have sex whatsoever. I honestly feel really crazy!!! No sleep, no eating, and an overall feeling of dread/failure/sadness. Almost finish with the 4th pack and I lost count of how many blood free days I've had because I've been bleeding ALL MONTH and not little droplets. I'm talking enough to wear a regular tampon. Officially done with this and going to just try the fertility awareness method because no BC seems compatible with my body :("

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE CONFLICTED. I’ve taken birth control before and I remember my first pill was pretty high in dosage and made me crazy. I vowed I’d NEVER go back on birth control. However, I decided to give it another go 2 years later. My doctor prescribed me Junel & honestly I luv it. I remember looking up this brand and became instantly terrified. I won’t lie the first 30 days of this pill were bad. I was so nauseas, had breast pain, bloated, any symptom you can get, I got intensely. But after the 1st month all my symptoms were gone. My period has never been skipped due to the pill. It comes the 3rd Friday of every month like clock work. (which was amazing since I’ve always had an irregular period) my periods are light-med and last 2-3 days. This pill is amazing. I haven’t gained weight from the pill, haven’t missed a period or had crazy mood swings. I was so scared to go on this pill but I’m truly glad I did. If you just wait up the 30-60 days of awfulness, you won’t regret"

Taytulla (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I never leave reviews but I researched this A TON before going on it. There is more negative than positive, which scared me. This is the first form of BC I've been on, so I did NOT want any crazy side effects. I kept a log of weight, moods, nausea, etc. each day and there is barely anything to report. A little nausea at first, but nothing an afternoon ginger ale couldn't fix. My periods were already short and light and now they are even better. I've always had light breakouts before my period and I still somewhat do. It's easier for people to write about bad experiences vs. good, so I just wanted to include some positivity for anyone thinking about trying it."

Blisovi 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "This pill honestly worked our really well for me even though I was terrified to start taking it after reading all of the reviews. It made my period much lighter although it took about 3 months to notice that change. I will say my period sometimes comes on the second week of my active pills or it will not come at all for some months. This doesn’t personally bother me but it is something to consider. I think I lost about 20 pounds from this pill which was great for me.. there’s no true evidence it was from the pill but I didn’t change my diet or exercise at all. Overall, I’ve had a very positive experience. Don’t let the negative reviews on here scare you.. people are much more likely to write about their bad experiences than their good experiences."

Aurovela Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "This is the 3rd time I have attempted to take birth control. I have severe ovulation issues and my DR thought trying a “low dose pill” would help. Aurovela Fe is absolutely awful. I’m on my 2nd month, week 2 of the pack and I’ve never experienced anxiety and mood swings this severely in my life! Sobbing crying, even having emotional breakdowns. I have GI issues already, and this pill has made them even worse. And the breast tenderness?! I thought they just hurt, but my significant other even mentioned how much larger they looked. Oh, and the bloating is also severe, like really bad. I’m 31 and I’ve never felt like my life was spiraling out of control, until I started taking this. I’m not even giving it a chance to “level out.” Will be stopping cold turkey. If I could give this zero stars...I would give it a negative 5."

Taytulla (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was on Yaz for over 10 years. Started experiencing debilitating cramps during sex and after bowel movements about 2 years ago. Doc thought I may have endometriosis, but recommended I try a lower dose birth control first before doing any invasive testing. Let me tell you...I wish I knew about this pill a long time ago! Within the first week, my cramps subsided, my mood got increasingly better, and I enjoy sex now for the first time in a long time. I really hope there is someone out there that reads this amongst all of the negative reviews. I had zero negative side effects and have been on it for 6 months now. Taytulla saved my marriage! Insurance pays 100% as well with most carriers which is a nice added bonus :)"

Junel Fe 24 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I’m not great with keeping a SPECIFIC time but I always take this pill between 11:30am and 12pm. This pill should take about 3-6 months to regulate in your body. Within those months it’s normal to feel some mood swings, slight changes in period, &/or weight gain so don’t worry. Prior to this pill, my periods were 5-7 days tops. First period while being on this pill lasted 2 weeks, the second lasted a week. From the third month moving forward my periods last about 3-5 days tops with no ovulation. My period dates also shift a bit. I didn’t notice any mood swings until about the 6th month. To today I sometimes feel sad or depressed & I won’t know why. I also cry a lot easier now. It’s nothing I’m concerned over tho, not too bad, & the mood swings are easy for me to quickly get over. Positive side effect: my breasts have gotten noticeably bigger. My bf has also “finished” in me multiple times with no pregnancy outcome so the pill has been doing it’s job. I’d recommend"

Blisovi Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Everyone's body is different but for me Blisovi side effect was getting too much for me to handle. I think I should start with the pros because not everything was bad. PRO: I liked how it kept me on schedule. Period change from 6 days to 4 and lighter flow. And of course kept me from getting pregnant. Cons: I couldn't keep control of my weight and gained 20 pounds really fast no matter the exercise or healthy foods I was eating. I have a family history of diabetes so I try to make sure my weight is manageable. At first I correlated to Covid and being stuck indoors so I ended up doing more cardio outside almost everyday but for the life of me couldn't change my weight. Went from 130 to 150 pounds and I'm 23 with a history of consistent weight before I took the pill. If I took a break for a couple of days I'd gain all the weight back plus more. Lastly, my sex drive was nonexistent. I've been on the Blisovi Fe 1/20 for 8 months now and decided another birth control method is best for me."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I've tried several types of birth control/contraceptives and this is by far the best. In the past I have had insane mood swings, random periods that last for months, serious weight gain, headaches/nausea, extremely low sex drive, etc. Since I started taking this I feel like a normal person again. I'm not randomly mean to my boyfriend, I want to sleep with him too. I have noticed that since I've started taking this pill (I'm on my 3rd month) I've been able to lose weight a little bit easier, unlike the last pill I took. I will continue taking this. "

Blisovi Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Taking Blisovi Fe 1/20 as my first time birth control. 1. No weight gain if anything I've lost weight while on this, not saying it's due to the pill but that's the only thing I've noticed about my weight. 2. No hair loss, my hair has been fine. 3. My face cleared up of little pimples I used to get throughout the month. 4. My periods are 3 days at the most and are light. 5. I've noticed an increase in my sex drive. 6. I've always been on the smaller side when it came to my boobs, they've gotten bigger since I started taking this pill. Nothing crazy but enough to notice a difference. Down sides. 1. I'm bipolar so this pill did mess with my anxiety/mood pretty bad the first two months but once I got past the adjustment period it's been good, occasionally it can get to be a bit much but nothing I can't deal with. 2. My cramps haven't changed they're still just as painful. 3. During my period my breasts get super tender to the point of being uncomfortable in my bra. Hope this helps. ✌"

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Lo Loestrin Fe is the first birth control I've ever been put on and what can I say? I LOVE IT! Its cleared my face, no weight gain (if anything I've lost a couple of pounds), I have tons of energy, my periods last two days now with no cramping and I don't bleed much, my sex drive is through the roof and its actually making sex feel 10x's better than it used to! Miracle pill I guess or at least that's what my fiance says. It doesn't make me moody, and its not that expensive with insurance. The only con is that for the first few days of using it I had some drowsiness but most new medicines I try make me drowsy. I recommend it 110%!"

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I had been very hesitant to begin taking birth control pills for fear of gaining weight. As a 20 year old female I am very conscious of maintaining my weight and was unsure about how this would affect me. I got a prescription for the 21 day Junel birth control pill at my yearly physical with my doctor about two months ago. Since then my mild acne breakouts have cleared up, I haven't gained any weight, my periods are extremely light and tolerable, and I really have had no negative side effects. It took me a few weeks to get used to the pill and my skin broke out a little at first but now I seem to be on the other side. My experience was very positive with this medication."

Lo Loestrin Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I came here and read the reviews after my doctor put me on Lo. I'm 27 years old with PCOS and this is my first time being on any type of birth control. When I read the reviews, I saw a lot of comments about women getting really bad anxiety from taking Lo. I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, so it made me nervous. I wanted to see for myself because I know I can always stop taking it. The first day I took it, I was fine for the first 2 hours, but shortly after my heart started to race and I felt anxious. My initial thought was that the reviews were right, but I noticed I didn't get the reaction until after I drank soda. I tested this theory and did some research to find that women on birth control are more sensitive to caffeine. The next day I took my birth control without caffeine and didn't have the same experience. I'm leaving this review for the next woman who reads the reviews and feels the same way I did."
