"IDK who needs to hear this, but this BC is the reason you’re not feeling like yourself. I have been taking Larissia for 8 months. At first, I was only experiencing painful, constant headaches and increased appetite, but as time went on, the side effects worsened, and TBH, I was in denial and didn’t want to switch because my periods are so light and only last 3 days. But it’s not worth how fatigued, angry, uncontrollable, depressed, anxious, and emotional I feel. I have been falling out with the people closest to me for no reason. My sex drive decreased, the headaches are so painful my vision gets blurry, and with all this, I have a child to care for. So, I’m here to warn you: pay close attention to your body. If you feel even slightly different, immediately stop taking it because it will get worse. Avoid this BC at all costs!!"

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me from Orsythia to Larissia. I was on Orsythia for 2 years with no side effects. After switching, I noticed I gained weight, had constant fatigue, and mood swings. I didn’t think to blame the pill at first, but it all makes sense now. These side effects only happened after I switched to Larissia. I’m hoping to switch to another brand."

For Birth Control "The worst birth control pill ever. Was on IUD before and decided to switch because I felt it was better for me in the long run. Been on it for 2 months and noticed that switching was the worst decision I have ever made. The IUD worked great for me. No side effects and no weight gain. When I switched to Larissia, I gained 10 lbs in 2 months, and I can’t seem to get the weight off. The less I eat, the more I gain, and I was never like that. My anxiety level has been out of control as well. I’m always fatigued and groggy. Though it was all in my head, but after I saw all the reviews, I’m definitely stopping it."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Larissa to help with irregular periods. The first week of taking this drug, I had zero symptoms and assumed everything was fine. A week after taking it, I suddenly started having horrible anxiety attacks, would cry for no reason, and had extreme fatigue and dizziness. This was all in the course of one day. It got so bad that I had to go to the ER and make sure I wasn’t having an allergic reaction... needless to say, I will NEVER take this again and wish I would have read these reviews prior to taking it."

For Birth Control "Oh my goodness. This drug has been awful for me. The only good side is that my acne has cleared up. I am going to be switching to something else, as this pill has made me gain 20 pounds, have migraines (never had before), be super fatigued and groggy, mood swings, extreme back pain and chest pain, breast tenderness all the time, and extreme anxiety (which I am diagnosed with panic disorder and have been on something to help me deal/cope, and this drug has made me fall into the same bad anxiety spells). Maybe it works for others, but oh boy, I am excited to stop taking this pill."

For Birth Control "Larissia and Vienva have been the absolute worst birth controls I have ever taken. I was on Vienva for 3 months a couple of years ago and had to switch to another birth control from the horrible side effects. Recently, my doctor put me on Larissia, and the side effects seem like they've been amplified tenfold. Minor inconveniences make me angry, I'm having depressed thoughts multiple times per day, my chest hurts so much that it's hard to breathe, constant fatigue, and horrible acne breakouts. I would highly suggest taking literally any other birth control besides one with levonorgestrel in it."

For Birth Control "I started taking Larissa about three months ago, and it’s horrible. I have constant headaches, I have severe anxiety, and I’m extremely fatigued and can’t seem to get out of bed. I’ve been on different birth controls for years now and am considering taking a break because the side effects are not worth it. I do not recommend this birth control at all, as it’s made me feel horrible and uncontrollable."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Larissia for almost 9 months now. I am so glad I’m finally going to switch birth control. I came onto this website to see if everyone else that took this medication had the same side effects as me. They do. I have been going through depressive episodes, gone through eating everything in sight because I had cravings (which I never had a problem with at all). I’ve gained 20 pounds even though I am a college swimmer. I have fatigue episodes even though I am having so much fun and happy, and I haven’t felt like myself during this time. I’m so done with this medicine. I didn’t take caution until now because my doctor said it might take 3-6 months for my body to get used to the hormones since I haven’t been on birth control before. I should’ve switched a long time ago. I would never recommend this to any person that wishes to take birth control."

For Birth Control "I started taking Larissia after being on the generic version of Yaz for 6 months (which was great but too many risks for blood clots and destroyed my sex drive). Immediately after taking Larissia, I felt extreme fatigue. I’m a morning person and never have any issue waking up in the morning feeling refreshed; but every day that wasn’t a period day on Larissia has been extremely difficult. It also triggered my IBS symptoms, and I experienced some hair loss in the first two months. Also, even before birth control, I didn’t really have a ton of issues with acne, but now I have horrible hormonal whiteheads on my chin and around my nose and lips (which stop and completely go away during the period week). I’ll give it one more month to try to normalize. It does work for me in terms of controlling hormonal mood swings, and I have more of a sex drive than I did on Yaz."

For Birth Control "I haven't felt this bad in years. Take a horrific stomach virus and combine it with the worst PMS symptoms you've ever experienced - that's how I felt on Larissia. Nausea, acid reflux, diarrhea, and full-body aches and pains, plus fatigue, lack of motivation, depression, mood swings, and crying at the drop of a hat. At least when you're cycling naturally, the latter symptoms (minus the nausea, acid reflux, and diarrhea) disappear when your period starts. With Larissia, this is your life; it doesn't end. I had to stop after 2 weeks because I can't live like this 'until my hormones balance out' after 3 months; I have a job and responsibilities and can't afford to be so physically and mentally compromised. I'll be taking proton pump inhibitors for the next 2 weeks to try to heal my stomach. If I could, I would throw the rest of the pack on the FDA's lawn in protest. I gave this a 2 and not a 1 because at least I didn't get a blood clot. Avoid Larissia at all costs."

For Birth Control "I started Larissa over a month ago to manage PCOS. I went from barely having any period symptoms besides vaginal tenderness to experiencing headaches, tender breasts, cramps, fatigue, and sometimes nausea. However, I think this is because my body is still adjusting to the hormones. I don’t have any mental symptoms. I’m not sexually active, but this med makes me super wet and horny all the time, especially when I normally would be ovulating. It has worked really well for me, though, regulated my period right away and is preventing infertility and reproductive cancers. So I’m good with popping some Midol to treat side effects."

For Birth Control "I have been on Larissa for coming up on a year now. This birth control has done what it needs to do but has given me insane symptoms. My breasts are tender almost all the time. I have been having extreme mood swings and terrible nightmares. Even after an entire night of sleep, I will feel sluggish throughout the day. My back will randomly cramp up and be in pain. I am never one to have any symptoms or reactions to medication, but this one changed that. I will say after having an irregular menstrual cycle, Larissa brought it back with nice light periods, but after about two months ago, my bleeding is very little to none and seems like it’s old blood. This left me very confused. I recommend this birth control for preventing pregnancy, but the symptoms can be horrific."

For Birth Control "I was on Avianne for years with no issues. They stopped making Avianne, so the pharmacy gave me Larissia. I am extremely fatigued, moody, and have no sex drive. I do not recommend taking Larissia."
