Lessina (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Been on Lessina for a month and a half skipped sugar pills to not have to deal with my extreme PMS as advised by my doctor. I have been bleeding for three weeks! The heaviest and most clotting period I have ever had to deal with! I have had tender breast and horrible mood swings. I am so anxious and tired. I could not tell you if it works for birth control, haven't been able to have sex since I have started this due to prolonged period."

Seasonale (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have tried alot of birth control already and I am only eighteen. I have been hospitized for extreme ovarian cysts. I first tried Ortho Cept and from missing one pill I bleed for two months straight. After that they put me on a low dose 3 month pack that gave me horrible break outs and break through bleeding. After those pills I tried evro patch and I was rushed to the hospital for extreme bleeding and my arm became paralyzed for a day. After this I was put onto Seasonale and it took two packs to start working. I then had to add depo shot with it. For people with extreme cases this will not be enough for you. For normal people this will make you gain a little weight but no breakouts and no break through bleeding or weird side effects."

Quasense (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been taking this for a year now and I think it's wonderful. I haven't had a cyst rupture since I've been on it. I've had four ovarian cysts rupture and I'm only 18, they started when I was 14. I have been on 5 different birth controls and this is by far the best."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "It has been a month since I have been taking Seasonique. So far, the only thing I noticed is increase in appetite, waking up earlier, not sleeping sound enough, feel bloated all the time, and the bleeding is just ridiculous. I have been spotting/bleeding since the first day. But, I am not going to give up, I want to see what happens and if its good. I just can't quit smoking and that worries me. Good luck !"

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "After the 1 month, I started to have headaches, I've always have cysts and as a consequence, acne. It got WORSE! Terrible! And I started to have hair everywhere! It's horrible! Dr said it was going to get better after the 3 months, it's been 6 and it's just worse everyday. I'm definitely changing."

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I was switched to this generic after being on many others including the same Rx formula and other formulas in the past. This was by far the worst pill I've ever taken as far as being ineffective for hormone control. My ovarian cysts returned, I had more painful periods, acne, bloating, mood swings, and the feeling of not wanting to be near or touched by anyone. Once I was back on my previous brand of generic for 2 months I stabilized completely again."

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started taking this pill about a month and a half ago and have had nothing but problems. I started taking it in the morning when I would be getting ready for work, then get sick about half way through the day. So I decided to take it at night, and I wake up at night and get sick from it. Also, my first period on it lasted 10 days. I'm on day 7 of current one. I have horrible mood swings and cramps which I have NEVER had a problem with before."

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My GYN put me on LoSeasonique because they were out of regular Seasonique that I normally take. I've been on it for three and a half weeks, yesterday I started very little spotting and today it was just a little heavy, enough that I have to wear a liner. Other than that I have not experienced any other side effects so far. I will admit some of the reviews on here have me a little skeptical. "

"I am only on day 7, so far this pill has helped my ovarian cyst pain. I still have some pain but not as bad as before. Has also cleared up my acne so far. I had one migraine and one time had some nausea. But other than that I can also tell this pill has helped my mood. So far so good, will continue to take this pill."

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I tried this birth control pill when generess fe stopped their coupon program that allowed to pay $25/mo. Still pricey compared to the many options available for $10 or less, but I loved generess fe so it was totally worth it. Anyway, the price went up to $40/mo. without the coupon, so I decided to try something else. My doc recommended Lutera and my insurance covered it completely. Within a month of taking the pill, I turned into a complete nightmare to be around. I didn't gain weight or breakout as some other reviews noted, but was always irritable and never wanted to be around anyone. My poor fiance was probably scared to death of me; everything he did was wrong, and I made sure to let him know. I switched back to generess after 2 mos."

Lessina (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I began taking this pill after my insurance company sent this medication to my pharmacy instead of my Luthera. When I first started this pill pack I didn't notice anything yet, but at the end of the second week I missed a pill and then had break through bleeding for three weeks straight. I also began noticing severe mood swings and mood changes, breast swelling and tenderness, and pretty consistent bloating. I thought I would give it one more to see if my body just needed to adjust, but all the symptoms remained throughout the next month, aside from spotting a little less frequently, but the mood swings got 10x worse at the end of the month when I was on the inactive pill and my everyday anxiety increased substantially as well. I couldn't handle the side effects from this and simply had to have my pharmacy order me the Luthera."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I loved the idea of this birth control because it would’ve been nice to only have 4 periods a year, so when my gynaecologist recommended it to me I wanted to try it. Before this I tried two other birth control pills to help control my cramps from ovarian cysts, but neither one of them helped. Seasonique helped my cramps for the first pack but when I got to the placebo pills on the second pack I bled for TWELVE weeks straight. I honestly thought it was never going to stop and it was just awful. I wouldn’t recommend this birth control, but it affects everyone differently."

"My birth control got switched from Jolessa over to this horrible pill. I have been in constant pain for months due to agonizing headaches. I have them every day and they last or hours if not all day. I feel so fatigued, out of energy, and unmotivated. Not to mention excessive sweating and hot flashes, nausea, diarrhea, cramps, the works. It has caused my blood pressure to rise through the roof, along with heart palpitations. I've never gone through so much pain every day in my life. Finally, my doctor is taking me off of it, after months and months of not knowing why I was sick. Don't take this pill. It's horrid."

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I switched to LoSeasonique after taking LoEstrin24 for about a year because I was still getting extreme side effects from my periods (passing out, couldn't get out of bed, etc) and stopped taking it after the first month and a half because by skin was breaking out really bad. This past month was my first month being off birth control in about 3 or 4 years and it was horrible! I started a new pack of LoSeasonique this afternoon to see if my skin will react any differently and if I do end up breaking out again, I will switch back to Loestrin."

"Without birth control my ovarian cysts would rupture therefore not taking birth control is not an option for me. I was on LO/Ovral before my OB switched me. I had been on it since April 2017. I love having my menstrual cycle every three months. However, I have gained thirty pounds since April. I eat right and exercise an still nothing is helping. I am convinced that its the BC. I am looking into switching! Only having a period four times a year is not worth all this weight gain. Also if I forget one day... then BAM I am bleeding. IT SUCKS"

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "This medicine made me have terrible uterine bleeding for 75 days in a row accompanied by terrible uterine pain. It's been a full week since I stopped the medicines and the bleeding and pain have both stopped. My cysts have shrunk to half their size, but I'm not sure if the cysts were ever a problem to begin with."

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I've been on many pills and have bad experience with all of them. Mood swings, depression, exhaustion, loss of sex drive, breakouts, etc. etc. Lutera seems like one of the best-of-the-worst I guess... it made my boobs plumper which rocks, but I've lost my sex drive pretty much entirely so what is the point of that?!? I'm taking it to control Ovarian Cysts and Endometriosis but I'm going to stop, maybe try another, cause I find that I get mad or resentful at my boyfriend when there's nothing out of the ordinary going on, and I don't really care if I see my friends or not... stuff I used to feel passionate about is like... whatever. I miss me. At least Lutera didn't make me feel like offing myself like Ortho did, but it's still not great."

Quasense (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I thought this pill was awful. .So bad I could only take it for 5 days before I quit. It gave me awful cramps, and then after I quit I have been dealing with constant urges to go the bathroom (urinate) for two weeks now. I never had that before taking the pill. Its just awful...I don't recommend!"

Have gained eight pounds even though I have had loss of appetite and have been retaining water like crazy my ankles are swollen so bad. Have always had bad anxiety but it has become crippling and I have experienced a lot of dark thought and am constantly sad. This medicine is horrible and will never take it again"
